College student about to be evicted with nowhere to go
Posted by jlm814 on 2012-05-15 21:58:11
I have been living on my own for two years and working very hard (and struggling) to make it. I pay my own car note, insurance, tuition, and every other bill associated with my living expenses. This month, my rent is late and my apartment manager has already filed a notice for eviction. However, she said if I can have it paid before Iâm served the papers, I wonât be evicted.
I have nowhere to go if evicted (besides my car). My friends and family are unable to help because they do not have the financial means to do so. I have pawned everything that the pawn shops will accept and sold everything that I can.
I still need a little over $700 to pay my rent and the late fee.
Even the smallest bit helps.
Thank you so much for your time, consideration, and help.
help or a prayer will do.

Wig for Alopecia Sufferer
Posted by Rosa on 2012-01-24 04:58:35
I am raising funds for a human hair natural wig specifically made for Alopecia sufferers. Its a specialty product and very expensive ($700-$900 start price). I am going for the graduated chin length bob style as the longer styles are so expensive.
Every dollar will go towards this, and every dollar counts, please dont feel your contribution wont matter. As someone who budgets my wage down to the last $25 dollars each week, every dollar counts.
I suffer from Alopecia which is unexplained hair loss. I have had this condition for 5 years and it has gradually gotten worse. I have cut my hair very short to minimise fallout, and been to countless doctors and tried every drug and product on the market â all without success. In fact I am paying off a $3000 credit card bill which I spent seeing every specialist I could.
I find going bald at my age humiliating and embarrassing. I work fulltime so its important that I look my best, but thats very hard when you have lost over 45% hair mass. Its inevitable that I will be completely bald except for the back zone which I will probably shave to wear the wig.
Please help me if you can. I sincerely appreciated it.

X-MASS HELP
Posted by halfdome on 2011-11-09 10:58:02
About 2 years ago I started getting ill after moving into a apartment. I am a asthmatic and the 1st year after moving in to my apartment I got bronchitis 7 times, Pneumonia 2 times, 2 colds, 1 flu and mono. I quickly used up all my sick time and had also used up all my FLMA time. One day I had to go to the hospital from work and my employer fired me for it.
I filed for unemployment and won but my Pulmonologist
recommended that I find some other work then call center work due to my respiratory problems. I have a anxiety disorder and recently found out why. I was diagnosed with a hyperactive thyroid and I have a small cyst or growth on my thyroid gland. I started experiencing uncontrolled anxiety and fatigue. I went to counseling for the anxiety but it didnât help much.
I recently moved out of the apartment that was possibly the cause of some of my respiratory problems because we found mold in the hallway outside of our apartment and believed it was in the building too. I have continued to become frequently ill and my fatigue, anxiety, and asthma are making it impossible for me to find a job. I canât get disability for my asthma because my O2 levels are not low enough.
We moved into a doublewide manufactured home we bought this with a small settlement I received after a truck ran off the road and hit me when I was putting my then 2 year old into her car seat. I was injured but she luckily was ok. The other driver took off on foot. This happened this winter and even after that I have suffered extreme fatigue. Our old car was totaled out and the car we replaced it with turned out to be a lemon. In less than 3,000 miles it blew the transmission and the rear axel broke. It over heated, and we also replaced the battery, 2 pulleys, and the AC went out.
We spent over $4000 in the different repairs on the car and used all of the money from what we had left from the settlement we were going to use to replace the original roof of our house from 1988. Our roof has already had leaks and needs to be replaced
My wife is trying to find work but she has seizures and canât drive. My wife has only had 2 jobs her whole life and is having a hard time finding work. Now we are in trouble because we have no income and bills keep coming. My parentâs just filed for bankruptcy and cant help us and my wifeâs parents are unemployed.
We need help with our bills and to pay for our basic needâs
Our bills are as followed.
Lot Rent 410.00 per month
Water/trash/sewer $100.00 approximately per month.
Phone and internet for two cell phones $150.00 (my wife and 3 year old have seizures and need a cell phone).
Car and home owner insurance $154.00 per month.
Power bill between $100-$300 per month (I live in phoenix, AZ and it gets hot).
We also are paying $100.00 per month to pay the fee for breaking the lease at the apartment that was causing me to get sick so often. We still owe $1,100.00
To put a new roof on our house will cost about $4,000
I wish I never had medical problems so I didnât have to ask for help. I ask you please if you can help us in any way it would mean so much to us.
WE NEED HELP TO HAVE A GOOD X-MASS
Thank you so much,
Joe and family,

I don't know what to say to get your attention.
Posted by loriareid75 on 2011-09-10 01:58:06
My husband's teeth are really bad, he had his jaw broken 10 years ago and has since lost all of his top teeth and his bottoms are all broken. He has an infection in his jaw that could go to his heart but we can't afford to get his bottom teeth pulled. He is currently 20+ lbs underweight and malnourished. He also has a mass in his bladder that we can't afford to have biopsied, even though he has a referral.
We have no income because he is unable to work and I am disabled but still fighting Social Security for any assistance, with little success.
Neither of us use drugs or alcohol, though we do have a few friends that will smoke marijuana with us occasionally.
I try to donate plasma as often as I am able, but I have to go on days that my disability isn't apparent to them, so they don't ban me, as I, technically, can't afford the loss of white blood cells.
We have sold everything of value in our home and at this point we will be losing electric and internet on Wed, Sept 14th, 2011. My daughter is 18 but can't get a job due to the fact that we cannot afford the $10 to get a copy of her original birth certificate, so she cannot get an i.d.
We have no vehicle and take a rolling suitcase to the grocery when our foodstamps come, but due to bus fare, this is becoming increasingly difficult.
There are a lot of things that I, personally, need and go without, but I am genuinely most concerned with my husband and I growing old together, which won't happen if his health continues to decline. He is 39, I am 36, we have been together 16 years.
I don't know if this rant will do any good, but for the love of all that is holy, I hope someone, somewhere, sees it and feels compelled to investigate the reality of our situation.
Most sincerely,
Lori, Nick, and Brit
Help Me Get Back To Work. I Have A Job Offer, But Need Help To Work. Please Read

Even with medical care, I am still sick every day but I am making the disease more manageable. I applied for disability and received a response back that my condition is indeed disabling, preventing me from working, but would resolve in a year. Hopefully it does, but it is classified as an incurable disease that leads to repeated surgeries in 75% of the patients diagnosed with the disease. On the flip side of that statistic is a growing hope that alternative therapies may work⦠but take time to custom tailor to the individual. They are also expensive and not covered by Medicaid or private sector insurance. I have spoken to a disability attorney who is ready to represent me if necessary. I am only seeking disability as my âPlan Bâ if all else fails. I want to become a productive member of society again. I do have a âPlan Aâ, but I have a LOT of obstacles ahead of me.
This has all had a devastating effect on my finances. Last summer my gas was turned off the day after my daughterâs heart surgery. The gas was turned back on based on medical necessity. As of this week, my gas is turned off again and LIHEAP cannot assist me. I canât seem to ever have the âTimingâ right to get assistance. My electric is also on the verge of being shut off. My home is in foreclosure but the bank has agreed to work with me if I can find employment fast. I have just received a job offer that I graciously accepted. I start in a week. Just before receiving the job offer, while biking with my daughter, I had a mini stroke which caused me to go unconscious while riding. I crashed, broke my ribs, clavicle, hurt my spine, bruised my brain and lung, received several stitches, etc.. I pray that my health stabilizes to allow me to work. My daughter lives with me in this house. I would like to save it from foreclosure mainly for her sake. Itâs where she has grown up. Itâs a few blocks from her school where I want to keep her. My adopted 9 year old daughter, who I love a lot, has a very difficult speech impediment and learning disability. She already has special education and speech therapy in place with professionals that have worked with her for many years and know her needs. It would be very difficult to have to move away and have to make her start over in another school. I love my daughter a lot and will do anything to provide for her a life that she deserves⦠with my own limited resources. I say all that to illustrate âin shortâ that I need help. I have asked relatives and friends for help throughout the year and they are âTappedâ. My church is also in the same situation. I have sold most of my possessions to afford my phone bill, auto insurance, and auto fuel. My daughter and I currently have Medicaid and SNAP food assistance.
My goals are to:
1) I need to rebuild my professional wardrobe. I have lost a lot of weight and consequently have been working on buying dress clothes for my new job. I am to wear solid black suits. I am a 44L with a 38â Waist and 34â Inseam. Size 14 Black oxford shoes. I will graciously accept presentable used items. I can buy 3 inexpensive nice black suits for $80 each. $50 for shoes.
2) I have to keep going to my doctors and maintain and improve my health. I have just been referred off for advanced level care. The travel expenses are going to be very high. I will have to stay overnight in a hotel somehow for some procedures.
3) I will have to afford to drive to work. I will have to keep myself insured and afford the initial cash outset for my first 2-3 weeks of work. I am traveling far to work and it will cost me about $125 a week in fuel. $60/ month in insurance.
4) I have to get my gas turned back on. I am looking at having to come up with an impossible $5000 to get it turned back on.
5) I just bought and installed an used electric water heater and dryer. I have no way as of yet to heat my house this winter.
6) I have to catch up on my $1500 electric bill. Hopefully I can do so or I will have to abandon my house and give up hope. I may have to move to a different state with different utility companies.
7) If I can accomplish the above goals in a short amount of time, I stand a very strong chance at getting my mortgage modified and staying in my home. I can then only have to worry about the basics of life in addition to my health and my daughterâs heart and special needs.
I am facing some tough challenges. I cannot do it on my own. I have nowhere to turn. I would appreciate any assistance or advice on where to go for assistance.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I appreciate your help.

I have another chance... but desparately need help!!
Posted by pleasehelpme11 on 2011-03-05 14:58:04
It's the same still that I need help with my rent and bills, but I now have a tiny extra chance to make it happen so I don't have to get evicted and ruin my credit and owe MORE than if I had just been able to stay. My 3 day demand notice came on the weekend, so they have to give me 3 business days.
Please someone have mercy on me!!! Help me cover this so I can avoid eviction! At this point because of a ton of fees and stuff they added on, if I am to save this situation, I need $1211... and that's just for the rent part. I could really, really, really use some help with my utilities, etc. too, but the rent is the one at crucial mass right now.
Please, I don't know what else to do. I have been unemployed for a really long time and have just run out of resources. All of February I have been very ill and not able to get out to do even little side jobs. I am so much better now, but will have to focus on getting moved instead of working if I have to get evicted.
Any help is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and follow-through.

Trying to get my life moving... With a car
Posted by ladyziggy on 2010-09-15 23:58:58
I am a college freshman pursuing a journalism major. I am trying to purchase my first car as a means to increase my availability for story assignments and paper production for the newspaper as well as my availability for my new job in which my hours are extremely limited (less than 7 a week).
I am very restricted in how I can assist on the paper, spend my time at school, and how often I can work seeing as I have to resort to scheduling around whenever I can get a ride to where I need to be. Lately, this has resulted in me having to leave up to an hour and a half early from class to be able to get home (I don't live anywhere near a bus line or mass transit system). If I can't be there to work on the paper I lose my chance at landing an editor's position and therefore any tuition waivers. If I consistently need to leave school early, my education will suffer. If my work hours are restricted due to car sharing/carpool arrangements, I won't have the financial means to make bill payments or save any money.
My parents have refused to assist me in buying a car and since I have gotten hired have severely cut down on how much they are willing to financially assist me despite knowing I have very limited hours at work.
I know I'm not the most needy person asking for donations and I am grateful for having a job but I feel that acquiring a car will greatly increase my educational and work potential which will yield in long-term benefits. Keep in mind what comes around goes around, give to someone and you will get something in return. I greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Yes I can manage the bills when they are not over due by myself. My husband was a contractor so there were many times I had to go it alone so to speak. But with all the other issues its impossible to dig my way out by myself. I have some health issues of my own and I am worried what will happen to my family if I keep up this pace. As well as what will happen to my family if I don't.
Our real needs are 1)please pray for my family we have had enough bad luck this year we simply can not take any more. 2) get our bills current. 3) repair or replace our car. 4) assistance with our overwhelming medical bills. anything you send will be greatly appreciated. With your help we can go on and have future filled with hope and promise. Because even the smallest gift can make a big difference. Thank you for your kindness. May God bless you and your family...
