my bad luck started on the way home from adopting my son. our finances were nil from the adoption, but my wife and i were happy with the knowledge that her son was now mine, and the finances would work out. we were WRONG. on the way home, our van died and needed repairs, then all of the overtime i had been working to help pay for things dried up. fast forward two months, now we're on the verge of loosing our home, our gas is off, so we have no hot water and only dried goods for food. the electricity is scheduled to be shut off in a week. and the laptop i tried to sell to make up the money we needed was stolen. if there is a kind soul out there that reads this, we desperatly need $1500 dollars. and i do mean desperate. as in im trying to figure out how to cash in on my life insurance...that desperate. please help!

I'm a 33 year old mother of three boys. I grew up in an abusive home and proceeded on to an abusive marriage that lasted 13 years. From that marriage I have 2 sons, ages 13 and 11. My 13 year old was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome at age 9; my 11 year old has conduct disorder and has a tentative diagnosis of bipolar disorder. About 4 years ago, I finally had the courage to walk out of my abusive marriage and try to build a safe and normal life for my sons. Fast forward a year, and I found the love of my life and soulmate and remarried.I moved 5 hours away from my ex husband, thinking we would be safer. My ex husband remarried as well. Unfortunately, he married an attorney. Over the course of the last 3 years, we have been kept in court with custody battles and such, while my ex used his new wife's knowledge of the law to find every possible way to avoid paying child support. WE had to pay for an attorney, while his wife represented him for free. Not to mention, the court where we had to go for these cases was less than a mile from his home, while we had to travel 5 hours each way. My current husband and I have a son together now who is almost 2 years old. For 6 months of the last year my ex had finally been paying child support. My husband works to provide for us, while also having to support his son from a previous marriage. That's supporting 6 people on one income! So, having the child support really helped. (I am currently unemployed as we have no means of transportation and live in a rural area with no public transportation, and also have 2 children who are too old for daycare, yet cannot be left unattended due to their disorders.) We werent wealthy by any means, but we managed to make it from week to week and keep our bills paid. However, in October, my husband's employer went out of business with no notice. In the same week, my ex ceased making child support payments and the transmission went out in our vehicle. My husband, out of desperation, found a friend two towns away who would allow him to stay with him so my husband would be in an area with public transportation so he could look for work ( the friend has a one bedroom home that would not house us all, so the kids and I stayed here). All he has managed to find so far is a part time fast food job that barely covers his child support payments. This morning I was delivered the court eviction papers that will render my children and I homeless. If this happens, I have no doubt that my abusive ex will do everything he can to take my children away from me. At this point, I do not even have a way to get to the grocery store, let alone to another state to fight for custody of my children, and I certainly cannot afford legal representation. Our current situation is this: my husband and I must live in two different towns because of lack of transportation and income; I am stranded in the middle of nowhere with two special needs children and a toddler; we are on the verge of eviction with no place to go (neither my husband nor I have any family who can help); all of our utilities will be turned off within a week (no water or heat, we already do not have a phone); and my vindictive, abusive ex husband who does not even bother to financially support his children could potentially regain custody if we find ourselves homeless. I am living in a nightmare right now, and am at the end of my rope! I have no other place to turn and I am really praying that this option can help me find a light at the end of this long, dark tunnel. My h usband and I are both abuse survivors who have children with special needs. We are currently full time college students, studying psychology and social work (3.88 GPA's for both of us) because we have been through just about everything imaginable and want to use our past negative experiences to help others who are suffering or surviving and trying to cope. Our only goals in life are to give our children a decent life and help others who need it when we are able. All we need is a little help getting to the point where we are able.

I’ve never asked for any kind of help before, and certainly not from people that I have never met! But my situation has become so desperate that I really do need help.
I have, for the last 15 years, struggled to make ends meet, following periods of ill-health, bad luck and catastrophic decision making. My circumstances are now very desperate indeed, and have even considered suicide.
In 1997 I suffered from a period of depression, that became so severe that I was forced to give up my job, and borrowed money to cover my mortgage and keep my house. Unfortunately the repayments on this ever increasing debt snowballed, and I found myself unable to meet my mortgage and household bills. I had ploughed my life savings into the home, and lost it all.
In 2006 I was approached by a friend, who was concerned for my financial circumstances, and suggested that we buy an old property, renovate it and sell it for a profit. I was desperate to make some money, and trusted my friend. I would refer you to full details of this in my Beg, as the project ended in complete failure having been ripped off by an unscrupulous builder. Work that should have taken 3 months took in excess of 9, and I ended up carrying out all the work myself. I regularly worked at the house from the early hours until well past midnight. The long hours left me exhausted, and in October 2008 I had a breakdown. I simply couldn’t carry on, and collapsed at work. My employer at the time was an unforgiving and vindictive man, and he said that I would be suspended if my work didn’t improve. I was afraid that I would lose my job, and under considerable psychological pressure from my employer I was forced to resign.
Following the failed business venture, which had plunged me into further debt, my breakdown and subsequent loss of my job, I simply couldn’t cope and pushed me into a long period of depression that became so severe that I planned to take my life. At the time I was so ill that I was unable to hold down a job, and this simply added to my woes - whilst out of work and undergoing intensive counselling I borrowed further. By the end of 2009 I was £15,000 ($23,250) in debt. I desperately want to rebuild my life now, but it is difficult to do so when I am saddled with a debt that is crippling me. Between 2009 and December 2010 my debt increased - there is no answer to it, and I will never ever me able to clear the £18,000 ($27,900) that I now owe. It is a debt that cripples me and prevents me from having a normal, happy life. I am 50 in February 2012, but have no future. I am tired of being worried, stressed, unable to sleep, and being depressed. Please, please help me start my life all over again. Please read my full story, and contact me if you have any questions. I am a disabled person who has suffered from ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since age 9. I missed almost all of my secondary education because of my disability.
I studied a 2 year foundation degree and 1 year degree in music at the Colchester Institute. When I went on to apply for a music teaching PGCE at Cambridge, Middlesex, Ipswich and Open Universities I was interviewed but not selected for any of the courses. The feedback on each occasion was that I lacked sufficient subject knowledge to be accepted on the teachers training course. Also, when I undertook classroom observation experience at several secondary schools, it became clear to me that there were shortfalls in my subject knowledge.
As a disabled person I am at a disadvantage when competing with able bodied people for employment. The shortfall in my subject knowledge is a further disadvantage that can be rectified. I have been offered a place at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford Surrey to commence September 2012. My Parents are unable to assist me financially as my father and 2 brothers are disabled and unable to work. My mother has been ill and unable to work for the past year as she has a lung disease and it is not certain if she will be able to return to work.
Previously I auditioned and was offered a place at the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston USA. I was unable to obtain funding to attend the course and was informed by the Department of Education that this was because there are sufficient colleges and universities that offer music education in the UK.

I am a trainee teacher at university. I am also a mum of 3 with 2 step children. I work in school as a teaching assistant to supplement my university costs as well as to gain useful knowledge for my course. As an older student, with other commitments my course follows the part-time progression route and will take me 4.5 years to complete as opposed to the standard 3 years. This means that my cost extend for an additional 18 months and whilst I love my training, current job and am excited about my future career prospects, as with most things money can be an issue and at times is very tight indeed.

I just finish my secondary education and i should like to study medicine in the university. I have nursed this ambition right from childhood. I can remember when i was ill and i was taken to a hospital when i was seven years old. I was fascinated by the activities and hospitality of the doctor who took care of me on my sick bed. He so much endeared himself to me that, there and then, i decided to study medicine when i grow up.
Medicine, as a profession, commands great respect anywhere in the world. Medical doctors are respected for being hospitable and kind. They are kind to their patients whom they tend like seedlings which must not be allowed to die. A medical doctor cannot afford to be unkind or cruel to his patients as to allow his patients to suffer. He must be genial, good-natured, hospitable and must have a good disposition towards his patients.
Furthermore, medicine is a business of saving lives. This make the profession to be regarded as the most noble profession in the whole world. If there were no doctors, many lives would be lost on daily basis. Doctors are professionals with adequate knowledge of all parts of human body and one cannot but be proud of belonging to such a profession. Doctors serve and contribute to humanity more than any other professional in the whole world.
In addition to this, the medical profession is one of the most lucrative professions in the world. It gives practitioners the opportunity to work for the government in the government hospital and at the same time engage in private practice. Therefore it gives the practitioners the privilege to establish their own private hospital and clinics thereby making it possible for them to make a lot of money.
Moreover, the medical profession gives one the opportunity to meet a lot of people. It makes one to be influential and popular because as a medical doctor, many people would want to be associated with you. A patient whom you have treated in the hospital would always remember how you help him and his family would forever be grateful to you. All these make a medical doctor or practitioner popular and influential in the society. Many people would want to respect him and his opinion on any matter in the society.
Lastly, a medical practitioner with a stethoscope hanging on his neck is always a good sight to behold. This has also endeared me greatly to the profession and i have a dream of hanging the identifying instrument of the profession on my neck in the nearest future. Medical doctors are always neat and they look resplendent in their white overall coat. This makes them respectable and the profession dignified.

Hi everyone, I am asking for you help with donations to help my family. My story is one that involves a split family. It starts in 2006 when my ex-wife took my two children away to another city with out my knowledge. Being in the military I was not able to up and relocate to be close to them. Taking on the debt load from the past relationship and marinating a home for myself and children was the start of my struggle. Thru many lawyers and court appointments I received 8 days a month visitation due to the 3.5 hrs distance between us.
3 years pass and I was remarried. Due to the unfortunate loss of my father we came into an inheritance, we were able to balance out our debt and for once we felt some relief. Still with only 8 days a month we yet again went back to court to try and obtain more access in the summer. As with all messy divorces my ex was unwilling to budge and wanted no more than 2 non-consecutive weeks in the summer for access. Luckily for us we were granted a full month each year.
With that good news came notice to us that we were to be posted to the same city my children lived. Once we were posted to the same city the military deemed that I was to deploy to Afghanistan, with this came a lot of training and travel to complete this all while my wife was pregnant with our son. As I know being in the military not everything will go as planed, I missed the birth of my son. Once my rotation was complete we were able to make new attempts to have more access to my children (in the original agreement between my ex-wife and myself we agreed to a set amount for child support).
Once my ex-wife found out about us wanting to have the children 50/50 she asked for an increase in child support and put my two boys into hockey to try and burden us financially. Needless to say hockey is very expensive and with the increase in child support (equivalent to another mortgage) we started to sink into debt again. My wife was unable to work due to child care costs of over $780/month, legal bills thru the roof and a vindictive ex-wife making all attempts to keep me from my children.
As if that wasn’t enough, my lawyer was suspended from practice, my wife’s and my 19 month old has now been diagnosed as possibly having celiac disease.
To sum it up, we are left with $200 per paycheque to buy groceries, gas for the car and anything else that may come up which in turn we needed to rely on our credit cards. Trying to get my children 50/50 is at a stand still now because no lawyer will take us on unless we have $2000 as a retainer, we don’t qualify for legal aid due to the fact that on paper I make too much.
So this is why I have turned to asking for help, to regain financial stability, gain access to my children and try and provide for my 3 boys and remove the stress from my wife. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We thank you for taking the time to read this.

I am a solo mum with my invalid 81 year old father and 2 teenage boys at home. I work 2 jobs to keep us. My son will be 17years old in 3 weeks and he wants to work. He is in his final year at school, year 12. When finished year 12 in 2012 he wants to be our family's third generation farmer.Our family for 2 generations have worked and lived on the land for farm owners. Helping out on other peoples farms for all of his 17 years he has a wealth of knowledge and experience far beyond his years. We live in Queensland in an area where most of the casual farm work is already taken.Please, we do not have any family who can help us out with a job let alone a dream. A little help from a lot of people can help get my sons future off the ground to run and own his own farm.Having his own farm has been the only job he has ever wanted.He has 2 willing workers in myself and his brother to get things started. There is also a lot of his peers who also have grown up in this farming district, youth who are willing and able to work along side of him. The alternative is they too will be out of work by the end of this year. We need what to us is an enormous amount of money,around $750,000.00 to purchase an existing Lucerne farm.He wants to be innovative and extend the Lucerne producing farm into a mixed business, Lucerne and old fashion calf rearing.There are no existing farms of this type in the area.There are many Lucerne farms locally but no calf rearing farms. We have done our homework, calf rearing is very viable. The Northern Territory runs successful calf rearing farms.This is also an area we are comfortable in. For extra pocket money it is what we have done in the past when we have been allowed to use the owners property.Please help me buy my boys a job and more importantly a very Australian future on the land.

In addition to my rural upbringing I am also a combat military veteran with working knowledge of para-military and survival tactics.
I have saved enough money to move to the property of my choice from my home state and have also provided for the tools, food, clothing and provisions(including shelter) needed to complete this project, the rest of the requirements of the project will be bought or shipped at or near the building location at my personal expense. I have considered every avenue required to secure financing and have been stopped by my credit alone. Really what matters the most to me is that I will have the opportunity to work for a permanent solution to my financial. social, and economic ills. However, due to my poor credit rating (Thank you 17yr old me) I have been unable to secure financing from "the man" and have been forced to beg of the internet. Please o' please grant me my life... That being said, in addition to the months of preparation I have done, I have secured the willing enlistment of free labor (in the form of an old army buddy) for this project. That being said, with my current financial situation I cannot afford to purchase the land for the cash asking price even though it is 10 acres at a fraction of the price normally requested for that expanse of property. What I am asking for is enough money to purchase the land ($8,000 USD). In return I am willing to spend 2 months every year (during any year) devoted to work for my benefactor for up to 4 consecutive years. First of all many thanks for all of them who are reading my story. I am a unfortunate woman from India having two little kids. I was cheated by one of my close friend whom I helped when he was in danger without my husband's knowledge. Now I am not able to clear that debt all alone and suffering from too much mental torture. I don't know what I'm going to do to feed and clothe my wife and me. She has no idea I'm writing this and I'm trying to keep the knowledge of how dire things are away from her for the time being. Hey there kind stranger. I'm heartbroken over the fact that my mother (who was born and raised in England) moved back home at the end of August. I miss her incredibly, and I find myself bawling my eyes out at least once or twice a week from missing her so much. She's my best friend and I really need to visit her and make sure she's doing alright. A round trip ticket would be about $800. In these hard times, you need more than just life experience to get ahead or even stay afloat. My problem began when I was working full-time at a non-profit agency. I enrolled in a university to finally get a degree and an opportunity for advancement. This of course seems like a good idea, but it didn't turn out that way.

Because I was working full-time I didn't qualify for financial aid so I relied on student loans. After just a single semester and despite getting excellent grades I realized I was getting in over my head financially and would not be able to afford this degree. At that point I was forced to quit my educational pursuit. I knew right away that loans weren't the way to go but without any savings it was the only choice and the advisor really didn't leave me feeling like I had any other options. I made a mistake by accepting the loans and I have been paying for it since then. Er...actually I haven't because I defaulted. Now I owe $4464.50 and climbing every day due to interest. I feel like a terrible failure for allowing this to happen, but I haven't given up.

I know at this stage of my life that a degree is not likely until or unless I can save some money and now working odd jobs and with costs climbing that just isn't possible. Since making this terrible mistake several years ago I found something I excel at which could help me earn a living, and I feel strongly that I can get accepted into the accredited program. The problem is that program costs $2500.00 which I do not have. It also requires a month-long stay in a major city which will cost roughly $900 and a plane ticket which I can surely save for if I should acquire the other funds.

All together I need roughly $8,000.00 to pay off my loan debt and obtain a Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) which would set me up to continue teaching English with credentials students can trust.

I take full responsibility for getting myself into this mess but that's not enough. I have to pay it back in order to fix my credit and start again. I am determined to succeed at the very demanding CELTA course and I will use the knowledge gained to help others succeed as well.
