An American reject

An American reject
Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing because I have found an injustice that it seems no one else has noticed. I know that I am only one person, but they say one voice CAN make a difference.

I know many people who have made their share of mistakes  we all have sinned no one is perfect. Some just get caught up, can't afford a lawyer and   And want to confess, hoping there would be some type of leniency.  Considering they were young and didn't realize this would affect them the rest of their life. and i have tried to correct each mistake i  have made. The question I pose is how long is a person supposed to pay for those mistakes? Everyday I see people who are doing there best to clean up there life and get a job; but because they are felons/ or have a heinous misdemeanor as society feels that is a liability.  they are turned away from having a better life. That not only affects them and their families but it also affects society. If a man or woman is trying to lead an honest life and jobs are turning those individuals away what’s left? Go back to “the block”? If they get back in the streets they take the risk of losing there *freedom* but if they keep being turned away from jobs because of their past they risk losing there homes and families too. So what is a person to do after all we make mistakes.  Some are just smarter, or maybe they just know how to hold a lie like Casey anthony. But how is it fair for an employer to turn me away for being honest about my past. After all it was 13 years ago and did I ever really know how hard of a punishment and debt that I would half to pay to society as well to my unthought of family at the time.  My decision as a child is affecting my now 10 year old.  I made a mistake i feel like I would of been better off stoned to death I'n the center of the city.  Than to go on continue getting turned down left and right I don't know how long I can go on like this.  Where is the justice for me? Do I no longer have rights.  Am I considered a worthless piece of trash now that I have a conviction a black cloud holding over my head? From 13 years ago I was 18!!  How fair is that for my family NOW! Something needs to be done.  Justice for all!!! These employers shouldn't have the right to go as far back and discriminate. There should be a 7 year law.  After all there is a clean sleight after bankruptcy.  There able to wipe their debt clean as if they owed nothing.  Why can't we. Why is there some type of stigma.  For people that have been convicted and have never gotten convicted again.  That's showing you were trying to live as productive as we can I'n society.  But trying is the key word here because I feel I can't even get a chance!

Despite what people may think, individuals who have records also have families they have to care for. Once a person has paid there debt to society for there crime and is making noticeable effort to clean up and live right they should have the opportunity to do just that, not be sentenced to a life of crime because there is no other way to survive. I’m sorry but McDonalds and Burger King just isn’t going to cut it with a 30 year old man or woman with 3 kids. This is supposed to be America, the land of opportunity and justice for all, but where is the justice for these people?

I feel very strongly about this and I would love to see justice made true. I plan to write every address and person I can find. I plan to be that one voice that is letting as many people know that this is wrong and unfair according to plain ethics and the so called American Dream.

I truly hope this reaches out to you and I hear back from you soon. I don’t know if a 32 year old female who is living a life like the one I explained above is going to make a difference but I can say at least I am trying make a difference.

It's verry hard for me. I can't find work. I have no health insurance. And recently I need work done on my mouth that I can't afford to pay for. I don't know where to turn. I can't afford a Christmas for my daughter. And if unemployment dint get passed for 2012 were screwed. There's been days of me going without to bed hungry so my daugter can eat. Sometimes I think of ending my life cuz I'm some useless pice of crap that can't make it I'n this word. But my daughter gives me strength and with god I know all this are possible. I won't give up, I'll keep fighting. It's just so hard. Abd it doesn't get any Easyer I'n this small town. If you know of anything that can help me and my child please feel free to call. 484-560-0090. Something's gotta give there's gotta be a way out... -Ceecee

Please remember Gods loves everyone and gave his life for EVERYONE to live even convicted misdemeanors.

Getting a divorce from habitual liar. HELP!

Posted by ThisFamilyNeedsHelp on 2011-12-06 13:58:11

Please help! 37 year old mother of a 5 yr old and a 12 yr old is getting a divorce from my habitual liar husband. I thought I married the man I would spend the rest of my life with, I had planned on only doing it once. I do not work right now. I was doing hair when we met and he wanted me to quit and stay home with our son until he started school. I saw that our relationship was heading downhill and not getting any better and decided I need to go back to school to finish my Bachelor degree in Business Management. I am hoping to finish up by July or October of next year, 2012. I want to open my own business so I can support my wonderful children and give them the things they need and some of the things they want. My 2 children and I, along with our 2 small dogs, had to move in with my mother, uncle, grandmother, and brother. We have been here for a year on Dec 10th and have been separated from my husband that long. He has given me very little money for support in the past year, spent all the tax return, took out a loan on my previously paid off vehicle and spent that money, and ended up getting me in trouble with a bad check to our previous landlord. We had a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad cab, I was primary on the loan, he was secondary, and he said he was trading it in for a Chevy Equinox, better gas mileage and cheaper payments. this was 3 months ago. I am now realizing, how can you trade in a vehicle when the other person on the loan never signed the papers? So now I have people calling me saying they are coming after me for the Dodge truck. I have no clue what I'm going to have to or be able to do on that.

He put a bunch of our stuff in storage when we separated, we moved to Missouri with my mom and he moved in with a friend in Iowa and then LOST it, so I don't have a lot of stuff I've worked for and had before we even met. The list of stuff he lost...5 seat sectional with chaise lounger, 37" flat screen tv, PS2 and about 12 games, Wii and 2 games, new surround sound, 5 disc stereo system, new bluray player, box of my season dvds like Smallville, Friends, One Tree Hill and ER, a huge box of my Disney VHS that I had been collecting since high school, nice new short entertainment center, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, washer and dryer, refrigerator, tall dining table with chairs, vacuum, electric can opener, butcher block knife set, corelware dishes, stainless steel pots and pan set, toaster, king bed, bookcase, desk, riding lawnmower, 2 weed eaters, etc. I probably could keep going.

I'm living on the good will and love my family offers and my small student loan refunds. I get NO child support. I am looking to pay off $15,000 in student loans, the $6200 loan on my Tahoe, the $1100 bad check and a couple hundred in lawyer fees, and the $1,400 Target Visa he ran up and let go bad. I need 4 new tires, an alignment, and a new windshield on the Tahoe. I would like to build my children and I a house in the next 3-4 years.

My goals...
~ Finish my BSBA in Management, end of 2012.
~ Thinking about getting my MBA.
~ Open my business, if you are interested I can tell you about it. Looking for potential investors. Working toward fall of 2012, may have to be fall of 2013.
~ Build my kids and I a house, which my mother will eventually come live with us. Right now she is taking care of my grandmother. If my business takes off like I foresee, I would like to build as I have the money so I don't have a mortgage, or put 50% down and get a loan for the rest.
~Be happy in life!

I am an honest Christian woman and I believe that the bills should be paid first BEFORE you go out and blow any money on luxuries such as eating out. He eats out a lot!

If you find it in your heart to help me out, please send me a note with how you would like for me to use the money, 3 choices as there will hopefully be others who can help me, and I can send you proof that that bill was paid. This is new to me and my first attempt at "cyberbegging", which has taken all I have. I am proud and have done many things on my own, so it is very humiliating for me to have to take this route.

I would assume your donation is tax deductible, but you will have to check on that.

If this works for me, I will give back and help out others who need it.

God Bless you and your family. Happy Holidays!

Christmas For My Brother

Posted by sweetheartsx on 2011-11-01 14:58:42

When I was younger, I was lucky enough to be around when my parents were together, had money, and doing okay-ish (granted we were still living in a horrid environment, but I still have my Barbie Talkin Town House!). My brother, who has many mental/speech issues, has not experienced Christmas but 1 in his 9 years. Dad went to nursing home w/ multiple sclerosis, mom had to run business in dangerous neighborhood, meanwhile our apartment nearby got taken because the contract expired...basically, for the next few years we financially got worse and worse. Even now, our 'stable home' is to be foreclosed.
Anyway, all I ask for is Christmas presents for him. He's a boy, so obviously guy stuff. He loves the lion king, remote control things, anything with animals. Please, please make this little boy's Christmas.

Since my previous posts have yielded only four donations over the last five months I thought I would try this approach. My financial problems are quite real. If you find my fable entertaining please send a small donation.

The Grasshopper and the Ant
A Classic retold by Joseph the Beggar King
Part One

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there were two friends, the Grasshopper and the Ant. Why these two became friends is a bit of a mystery. The Grasshopper was a dreamer and a drifter. The Ant was a believer and an achiever.

In school the Grasshopper would look out the window without thought and only learned the subjects he found interesting. Sometimes he would fall asleep in Math class, other times when a angry teacher would jump him with a pop question he would give the correct answer in way that would confound them.

The Ant was a teachers dream, he soaked up every subject the system taught him, gave the correct answers in the correct way and got straight A s. He would delight his Math teacher by doing compound interest in his head. The Ant believed that what they taught him would help him succeed and was very completive. After graduating High School the Ant got an Academic Scholarship and the Grasshopper got a Pell Grant.

Within four years the Ant got two BS degrees in Business Management and Engineering. The Grasshopper dropped out after the first year. He went to live with the Rainbow Tribe for a few years. On the way to the bus station he found an old fiddle in a trash pile along the road and when he got station he was able to panhandle his bus fare. That was the Grasshoppers first beg.

The Ant took the College like a fish to water. During open Rush some Greeks invite him to be a brother in their Fraternity. He earned his dues by being the Frat Houses Accountant and made beer money by writing term papers. One day while visiting the Tri Deltas he watches the girls play volleyball and is amazed that even though they are playing a vigorous game not one of them breaks a sweat. It is there he meets the girl of his dreams, Polly Fishbane.

While the Grasshopper was living with the Rainbow Tribe he never meets the girl of his dreams, but it does not really matter too much because they believe in Free Love. So free, in fact, that after what you might call the Honeymoon he found himself getting a little bored with it. From the Rainbow Tribe he learns to live off the fat of country and from his new friend, Buffalo with Runs, he learns to live off the land. Buffalo with Runs was an very old Indian that was adopted by the tribe. He taught the Grasshopper what wild plants were safe to eat or use for medicines. He showed him how to set traps and hunt small game. Then, during one winter Gathering four people froze to dead because they were too stoned to come in out of the cold. The Grasshopper became very sad and hopped away.

The Ant is recruited by a Aerospace firm even before he graduated college and goes to work on the Apollo Program. He and his new wife Polly loved the Florida sunshine and settle down to start the American Dream. They decide to have two and half children. Even though the third kid looked a bit odd the Ant loved him as only a father can. With easy money down and mortgage tax deductions compliments of Uncle Sam, they get a house with a two car garage. Next they get two cars and the Rat Race is on. The Ant loves it! Working on the Apollo Program is more than a job, it is being part of history. Polly loves it! Raising their kids and Keeping up of with the Jones. She starts selling Avon products on the side. The Ant buys the best bass boat in the neighborhood, but only uses it once a year because he too busy working. He sets up his retirement funds and a small stock portfolio. Life is Good!

After leaving the Rainbow Tribe the Grasshopper panhandles his way across the country. He sets up in parks and subways where he pretends to play his fiddle while selling jewelry made of deer anthers and beads. The noise he makes with his fiddle sounds like a cat being killed and people give him money just to make him stop. Before the Cops run him off, the Grasshopper usually made enough in one day of begging to cover his needs for the week. When he is hungry he goes to a Soup Kitchen and when he needs clothing there are the Sharing Centers. Every now and then he lets some good hearted woman try to save him. Life is Good and he hops away.

The Apollo Program ends and the new Shuttle program does not start for a couple of years. The Aerospace company were the Ant works at does not win any of the new bids. They offer him a job in California at 20% less of his salary. Polly and the kids are in a rage. Nobody wants to move and leave their friends. The Ant sells his house at a loss because the real estate market in flooded by the laid offs. The one car and the boat are reprocessed. He sells off his stock portfolio for the down payment on the new house in California and even though money is tight the Ant decides to take the family on a short vacation to Key West to uplift their spirits. He finds the Grasshopper selling deer antler jewelry at the Front Street Market. While Polly and the kids go shopping, he and Grasshopper catch up and have a couple of beers. The Ant tells his friend about the laid offs and the move. The Grasshopper asks him - Are you Happy - ? The Ant says - Yes -. His friend says, - Good - . They watch the sunset and see a green flash on the horizon.
To be continue.

LAST RESORT PLEASE HELP

Posted by twiztidangel on 2011-07-21 14:58:21

Hello, my name is Emily and I am a struggling mother of two. My husband has a full time job (40 hrs). He works very hard for us and for that I am so grateful. He has no idea I am doing this. I use to work full time which has currently been cut back to 8 to sometimes 16 hours per week due to the economy. Still we are falling further behind. I am a hard worker, am steadily hitting the classifieds, numerous job sites, and am steadily falling into a hole of depression which I can't see the light of day.

Earlier this year, I had to have two surgeries, (more debt) which I can verify if you think I'm lying. I was off work 3 months which started our downfall. I was diagnosed with adenmyosis which has no cure except surgery which I can't afford. It sometimes paralyzes me with pain but you move on. My husband just recently went back to work after a 2 month layoff this led to us being further behind.

I fear my job is in jeopardy. I can not sleep, eat, my hair is falling out daily. My stress level is beyond breaking, but my 8 and ten year old keep me striving. I am searching online daily for jobs that don't seem to appear. I have minimized all my bills and cut out everything that is not an essential. Next month school starts and I have no idea where the money will come from to clothe these two children. Bills are behind, which as of now is down to gas, electric, rent, food and necessities, and our vehicle, which if I can't come up with $1,037.48 by August 16th, 2011 will be repossessed.

I have applied to Mcdonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, and Kentucky Fried Chicken only to be told I am over qualified. So this led me to lie on an application to Subway, which when I got an interview, I was flat out told I lied on the application therefore I was not Subway material. I am expecting nothing other than minimum wage and a chance to work, I tried to explain and was still denied. I am doing every survey site I can which is very discouraging but every penny will help.

I have been to Job and Family services and was told my household makes $23 too much to qualify for food stamps! If I could've received even $200 a month I could've made it work. While I know it is not Christian-like I can't help resenting the people down the street driving brand new vehicles, receiving $600+ a month on food stamps and the good Lord above only knows what else my tax dollars are paying for in their household.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Hi sll. I am 22 and an origami artist and in debt with my bank. I overdrafted so I could pay for food and books to study my art. Because of it, I am scared that my account will close and I will not be able to save and afford to put in checks when I get hired and get payed. I have sold my paper art at Burger King but the profit I make is not sustainable to me and is not helping me pay it off too good, but I can say I worked with my heart and soul with my art. Please, I beg to you that you provide me with some aid and I will continue vending my art so that you and I can help thwart out my debt. It is a debt of $600 and I have been selling my art to chip off whaqt i can but I need your help please. Thank you for reading my story and I hope my paper flowers reach you someday :).

Health in decline due to malnutrition

Young woman that is out of work, and I have actively been looking, but to no avail. I don't drive, and I don't have a bus pass this month. I'm homebound, and have no means of getting to the foodstamp office to apply, and there's not a foodbank within walking distance. I'm lucky to have $40 a month to spend on food, and that's just not enough. I sometimes can't muster the energy to get out of bed in the mornings. If you can help with anything, anything at all, it would be greatly appreciated. Even electronic gift certificate codes for King Soopers or Walmart would help. My e-mail address is nightscapedreamchild@yahoo.com if you can send giftcards through e-mail, or you can donate through my paypal button. Anything helps. Thank you so much and may the Good Lord bless you.

I am an American citizen stuck living in Ukraine. I have been here 4 years because the government requires I have $35000. a year income to bring my family to the States. My wife Inna, and me have decided to go to Paris to look for real jobs. We have 3 children to support, but only make enough to feed ourselves. We need about $1000. to go to Paris and find jobs.We can take a 2 day bus trip to there. We have absolutely no future here, except starving to death eventually. My family in the States refuses to help us.Any help, from anywhere, will be gratefully acknowledged.I can get a caretaker's job outside Paris, and we will have a house to live in, and a paycheck too. Please help. Sincerely, Jeff King

I am desparate, My husband is a laid off ironworker who finally after a year took ajob for less pay. We have five beautiful children and before his job ended we were totally self sufficient. When he was laid off we moved into a small 2 bedroom house owned by his mom.Out of kindness and need she decided to build on.The contractor left us with all the tools bought to complete the job, no roof, no walls ,plywood floors,no electric in some parts of the house,no heat and winter is fast approaching. When it rains it does it in our kitchen. We are completely at a loss of what to do to make this right. What we used to be somewhat of our sanctuary has become a living nightmare We need help before winter comes. Please help us

God Bless,The king Family

UK Guy needs $1 to spent on helping others

I need $1.00
I’m not here to beg for money to pay off my credit cards or to pay off my mortgage or even buy myself a new car. No, im asking for your support for a very different reason. Let me explain.

During the 90’s there was a war in Europe, the Bosnian war. I was working in London at the outbreak of the conflict and, like most other people, didn’t pay too much attention to the conflict. However, after getting home one night from work i switched on the TV to watch the evening news. (BBC) The lead story was of a very young girl beIng held down on an operating table by three nurses while a doctor pulled shrapnel from her body without anaesthesia. That one news report changed my life forever, I was horrified and very upset to say the least. 3 days later i am in Split (Croatia) trying to find a safe way into the think of the conflict area’s to see how i could help. To cut a 4 year long story short i managed to save many thousands of Bosnian lives regardless of ethnicity. I stood up against the war lords when evacuating wonded women and children, successfully begged the assistance of UNHCR to supply me with safe houses in Croatia, to house the women and children i sneaked across the border before i could find the funds to evacuate them, found an abandoned air strip that very rich donators flew aircraft into to evacuate seriously wounded children in need of urgent medical treatment. I was arrested twice by various warlords and locked up in makeshift Prisons. (i broke out) The list of things i did in the name of humanity is endless. I always worked alone without the protection of any organisation.

You may think (as most do) that my story is very far fetched. However, Micheal Nicolson OBE, chief War correspondent for ITN news, Dan Damion Sky News, Bianca Jagger, King Constantine ll of Greece were all donators of the day. They paid for all the secret aircrafts into Bosnia .

Why do i want your money now?

I recently had the good fortune of spending some time in Zimbabwe. Not in the cities but in the very poor outback regions. The lasting impression that that experience has had on me has once again moved me to tears and has left me numb. Very young Children have no food (and i mean no food) children are forced to perform sexual favours for food, children as young as 6 are turned away from school for the lack of $1 per term, there is no clean water.. the list goes on and on.

How do i know every penny of my Dollar will be spent at a grass roots level?

The one thing people always want to know is how their Dollar will be spent. A great way of donators to understand exactly how there hard earn money is being spent is by pictures and photographs. A facebook page will be set up with daily uploads, updates, news, and achievements. Facebook also gives donators the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the very people they are helping to survive on a day to day basis. Children will have the opportunity to thank donators personally for their education payments, psychologists ( for the children’s sexual abuse trauma) will leave daily updates so donators are able to ask questions and interact. You will also be able to leave messages to teachers.

So there it is.. $1.00 can make a big difference in a world without hope.

Thank you for reading and i hope you will consider parting with just $1.00 to bring some happiness into the lives of the unfortunate. If you would like to know more you can email me at kev.bird@yahoo.co.uk
