This is my story from THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE to now May 23 2012.
I am 26 and live on a little island off the uk . when I was 19 I got a loan out to buy a car, the car cost was about £22,000 thats about ($34,546.6) this was the worst diction of my life about 6 months after buying the car, I found myself out of work and unable to pay back the payment, so the loan company that had been charging me for not paying back my debt had now with the charges taken the debt from £20,000 upto about £25,000 ($39,290) then took my car and auctioned it off for £5,000 about ($7,855) this took my debt down to £20,000 . At this point I realized the massive mistake I had made but noticing this didn't change the fact I was in debt and didn't know who I was going to get out. So I did the best I could and to worked and paid off what I could . I have now got my debt down to about £10,000 that is ($15,705) meaning in the last 7 years I have paid £17,000 ($26,710.4) for a car I don't have. I was getting paid about £11,500 ($18051.55) a year and living off about £9,000 a year for food rent/bills and anything else, the thing is i have just lost my job again because of cut backs and there is no work here at the moment so any help would be amazing. See when I was 19 I wanted to go to the USA and do a ski season or some seasonal work but now I want to do some volunteer work but with this debt I am stuck here . The worst part of this all to me is that when I think at I could be £17,000 ($26,710.4) richer had I not brought that car and could be living my dreams and helping other people instead I am stuck in a hole needing the help. If anybody does help me I will be very greatful and will be happy to return the favour in some way .

For kayaker Steven Banks, it is going to be more about physical as well as mental endurance rather than simply covering a set distance around Marco, Goodland and Cape Romano.

Banks, owner of Dreamlander Tours, on April 20 will set out on a 24-mile round trip he estimates will take about 24 hours, including a night stop on the water in the vicinity of Cape Romano when he will be on his own without a back-up team.

He is attempting the feat to raise money for three of his pet charities, the Impact community outreach ministry overseen by local pastor Ben Sprankle; a Malawi, Africa, charitable medical clinic called Partners in Hope; and a Cuaravac, Mexico, mother who is blind and has an epileptic son.

A poignant Marco Island connection is that another of her sons, Benito, worked on the island, raised a family, but died in 2011 from meningitis following a mosquito bite.

Banks had befriended Benito.

“Before he passed, he asked to make sure his mother and brother were taken care of,” Banks said.

A trip to Mexico to meet them prompted Banks to do everything he can for them, and his goal is to have them come to the United States for treatment.

Banks has called his fundraising paddle Kayak Marco 24.

It will consist of the 24-hour paddle that may incur inclement weather and unpredictable winds, put him at risk during the Cape Romano solo stop, and put strain on his body because of being out on the water for such an extended time.

But he is not too worried about that aspect.

As a hands-on guide, he paddles up to five or six hours at least three times a week, so has plenty of residual paddling fitness.

Still, he said, the length of time he will spend out on the water represents an unpredictable challenge, so he is avoiding any kind of complacency.

Banks’ route is not a fixed affair either, other than he starts and finishes at the Snook Inn.

While winds are unpredictable from this far out, tides are not, so Banks is studying charts and conferring with some of his charter fishing captain friends to map out the best places to try to be at certain times.

The combination of headwinds as well as fighting an in- or outgoing tide could be formidable, he said.

If the going is really good, he added, he will probably put in extra miles.

The kayak Banks plans to paddle is not the sleek, 17-foot kind that could zip around Marco, Goodland and Cape Romano in a matter of a few hours.

He will be using an ordinary, fairly short and stable craft that doesn’t have much gliding ability, so every stroke will count.

While Banks’ sole motivation for the endurance paddle is for his three pet causes, a cherry on top may come in the form of recognition by the Guinness Book of Records.

The category would be “longest nonstop time period for a single person kayaking.”

The recognition would be subject to correct and exhaustive documentation, Banks said.

On January 10, 2012, my son was running down the street and collasped on the sidewalk. School vice principal rushed him to the hospital. Doctors decided to hospitalized him to undergo surgery on Jan. 11 for bilateral knee injuries in both legs. My son had to stay at this hospital for 3 weeks because we had to wait for a bed at children rehabilitation hospital in Long Island NY to get physical and occupational therapy to walk again. He must stay at this new hospital for additional 6 more weeks. This situation has cause a big financial hardship because my son hospital bill has total up to $24,000 so far. I have been at my son bedside everyday and I only make minimal wage at my job. I currently don't have many money to pay for the medical bills. And my job didn't pay me for the 3 weeks out of work. My rent is past due and no money to put food on the table. Please help my family with any donations and food. Pray for the speedy recovery of my son.

After two devastating hurricanes I went from been a self-sufficient nutmeg farmer to struggling to make ends meet.

Although I have replanted my trees, they take 10 years to fully mature, restoring my income.

Today, the price of food is high. I grow most of what I eat. My surplus is hard to sell as my neighbours are in the same position. It is NOT easy to supplement my ever devaluing pension.

In 2007 I purchased an old 1982 O'day 25 sailboat on Ebay. It needed a lot of work and I went about fixing it up and outfitting it to sail. I'll post some pictures in the future or email you some to show you. I re-launched her in June 2009 under her origional name; Shadubie. The plan was to sail around Buzzards Bay out of New Bedford, Ma until I was confident enough to sail or cruise longer distances until one day I would venture away for ever. It's sounds foolish, but it's my dream and slowly it has been coming true. As of 2009 I've sailed Buzzards bay and Narragansitt Bay and out to Green Port, Long Island. I'll be sailing all the Islands in the area for another year or two, But money has become an issue. So much so, that I may be forced to sell the boat, or even abandon it to rising marina costs. I am looking for funds to keep her sailing. This is a real great boat and it is strange to say that I've developed a love for her akin to having a girl friend. I am twenty years old and currently a college student. I have gotten I am enrolled in an expensive private school in long island newyork. When I first got accepted i hard a hard time aquiring enough aid to afford the 50k a year tution so when my loans werent enough to cover my first semester i charged the remaining balance on a credit card, which is 6000 and it is the biggest mistake I ever made. I have since seen a financial aid counselor at the school and found many more facets to obtain my student aid that I wish i had known about before. I am being hounded by creditors I am working part time but its not nearly enough, I need help please. I made a mistake to try to better myself and am paying dearly for it. Anyone who helps me I give my word to make strides to pay back every single cent I just need help badly. I will give anyone all my information and everything someone please just help me so i can concentrate on my studies nad not be so stressed!

It all starts two years ago when I had a real estate business. I had known there was something wrong with me for years but 2 years ago I had only just been diagnosed with Endometriosis. The pain associated with it was excruciating and after all those years of pain it went on to develop into chronic pain syndrome.

I was lucky to have a partner to help support me through my illness, but with his own health issues the real estate business failed and I ended up deep in debt. In February this year I had to do a Non Asset Procedure, which is a less harsh form of bankruptcy.

Due to my bad health and Chronic pain I have been unable to work much in the last couple of years, but I decided to make good use of my time and have been studying towards my Bachelor of Communications in Media Studies and Journalism.

In September of last year my city that I lived in, Christchurch New Zealand was hit by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. Luckily for us it struck in the middle of the night and was centred quite a way outside of the City so there was a lot less damage than people would expect from an earthquake of that size. However just when we were all getting back on our feet, on February 22nd this year the city was hit again. This time the quake was a 6.3 and was centred under the city, which meant unimaginable damage to our entire city and 188 people were dead.

I left the city that day because I couldnt deal with the emotional and mental toll it was taking on me. I had to leave my friends and family behind. Myself and my partner moved to the North Island to a place called Paraparaumu, it is a 9 hour drive and ferry ride from my family and home town. The move cost us a lot of money and we have struggled to survive up here as there are not many jobs.

On top of that myself and my partner are separating, which leaves me financially worse off, with no job and no car, and health needs.

I am such a proud person who doesnt like to take even a couple of dollars from people, but I am desperate and need some help. I need to buy a car so that I can still remain mobile. Healthwise I'm able to go back to working part time so need a car for transport for work.

Please if anyone can help or donate a few dollars here and there I would be eternally greatful. I am a great believer of paying it forward and intend to do just that when I am finally on my feet. I also do a lot of advocating for organisations like Greenpeace and Amnesty International. I may not be able to offer them financial help right now but I'm always willing to spread the word and message they need to spread and to do volunteer work for them. Thats how I pay it forward and I ask that you take the chance to pay it forward to someone like myself that is in need.

I was a teen father, a soilder, a police officer, a up and coming finance guy a business owner, a landlord, a supervisor, a manager, a regional manager, and now a begger. I wish I could say that I knew what happend and could blame it on one thing, but I can't. Had a kid at 19 left school to feed him and joined service, got hurt in trainning and discharged w/o benifits, became a cop but only made 24,000 yr left got into finance was laid off after 9/11. to every odd job debt collector, waiter, pizza delivery you name it i did it but still lost my house. and am about $300,000.00 in the whole. I dont want fish I know how to fish at on time I had several rental properties, but sold them to open a restaurant i'd hope'd to make a chain, but it failed in 2 years.

I have no legacy to pass on to my kids only pride and determination. But I need your help to get back on my feet. I want to fish, not be given fish. I want to restart my realestate business but give back to the community by providing low income housing and shelter for battered and abused woman and children. I need to clear my debt and raise 50,000.00 seed money to do it that will get me into my first property and all i have to do from there is what i did the first time to get multible properties. but this time I will keep them and add value to the community and my family.

I ask you to give what you would waste, a pack of smokes, a drink a dinner out a movie, miss one and you will make countless lives better through me. This I promise and I've lived and served long and hard enough to know not to squander what I get and to build on your kindness and generosity. Beg your help to save my life

I am 53 years old businessman from tiny island of Sri Lanka. I started my business in 2007 after retiring from a leading solid rubber manufacturing company (Trelleborg Lanka PVT LTD Swedish own company) where I worked as the manager procurement for good 13 years. I am B.Sc graduate and diploma holder of rubber and plastic product manufacturing.

At the beginning my business, natural rubber processing industry was a success. I even renovated whole plant which was more than 50 years old and purchased two trucks to transport raw materials and finished goods to and from my facility. My trouble started in latter part of 2008 due to global economic down turn. Prices of our finished product, processed natural rubber ( Brown crepe ) declined rapidly in a space of few days thereby incurring heavy losses. Somehow I did managed to dragged my business till 31st march 2009 despite heavy losses. I provided 55 direct employment for very poor peasants in rubber growing area in Sri Lanka.

Due to heavy debt and pressure from my creditors I had to close down the factory and sold it out at very low price to settle my workers dues and some debt. I even had to handed over my vehicles to leasing company due to my failure to settle due installments in time

Ultimately I ended up with Rs. 8.5 million loss ( Approximately US$. 85,000) . Now I lost whole my earning for past years. Some of my creditors filed court cases against me. Some are putting pressure on me to settle their dues. They even posing death threats . I have been mentally and physically abused by my creditors everyday since closer of my plant. Police at the complain of my creditors may arrest me for default. Now I am in dilemma. I need police protection for safety of my life from death threats. At the same time police want me to settle my creditors debt as some cheque issued to creditors were dishonored.

I do not have any saving except my provident fund. After toiling hard for last 30 years, I earned around 3.5 million rupees ( approximately US$. 35,000) . At maturity, when I turn 55 it will be Rs. 4 million. I will get around Rs. 1.5 million as inheritance after selling of my parent properties (House where I live now. My share is 1/6 of the total value). Those wealth can be accessible only after another two years.

As I do not have fixed income nowadays, I am unable to overcome my difficulties without help of charity or donation. Legal expenses and my medical expenses aggravate my misery. My life now totally depend on sympathy of my age old friends. One provide shelter and the others provide meals. Now I am like a beggar although do not beg on the roadside.

I wrote several letter to relevant government organizations for compensation or bailout package, but nobody looked at it as government in short of money for that kind of compensations. I wrote to parliamentary ombudsman as well. All were in vein. Local red cross society replied to my request saying that they do not have mandate to give financial help to individual although my case is worthwhile to be considered.

Although I have taken all the insurance covers needed for our industry, like workmen compensation, fire. Flood, storm and tempest , burglary, personal accident, consequence lost cover could not be obtained due to nature of our industry. I put forward claim for US$. 75,000 but was not entertained due to nature of our industry.

I am looking for a help to settle my debt and restart a business. I can offer my EPF and inheritance as security. But those would be matured only after 2 years. House can be sold out only after flood situation due to unplanned development is permanently arrested by local government in our area. Otherwise a buyer can not be found.
