My name is Lea all the way from Australia. I have 3 beautiful children that I am raising on my own. We fell on hard times just over 1 year ago. I am looking forward to starting work in 6 weeks time. This is the most positive I have been in a very long time. The problem I have is with my car. It is 14 years old and runs fine sometimes. Last year I spent $1000 repairing an oil leak and a few other mechanical problems. Now though the shocks have given in and the car is not safe to drive any more :(. Today was the worst I feel, it felt like I was on a boat at sea :(. The expense to replace them with labour costs is astronomical. I really don't have the money to foot this bill. The car isn't worth a lot and I thought it would be better and safer to buy another one given the constant repair bills. I have always driven it nicely and looked after it. The timing is not very good right now. In my part of the world cars are very expensive even for the most basic one. I don't need anything trendy just a car for the kids and I. I need it to commute 35 mins each way to work and be able to drop them off at school and daycare everyday. A road worthy vehicle like the one I have now (Toyota Camry Wagon) costs $3,500. For a few months I joined various on line opportunities that all promised to make me money but what happened instead was that I lost the last few hundred dollars I had on advertising which was intended to invite others to join. Unfortunately, it didn't work :(. Please, if there is anyone out there reading my story will you send just $1.00. I am going to the bank next week to find out about a loan but I am unlikely to get anything. I was driving my husbands other car but two weeks ago he had an accident resulting in his main car being written off. He has now had to take his car back. I am a 32 year old woman and i live with my 14 year old daughter and my 40 year old fiance of 12 years! We have always had money problems because whilst i have worked in retail, my fiance has had trouble finding a permanent full time job. I have been the breadwinner all of this time. We now have stable, permanent full time jobs and are working hard to pay off our debts that have been building up.

During the past 6 and a half years we had to downgrade our property and rent a small damp home in a rough part of town. The mould is getting increasingly worse and i have to de-mould the walls and windows every 3 weeks. The house smells damp and it is hard to retain the heat as there is no double glazing. The agency is aware of the problem but the landlord doesnt want to shell out any money to fix the cause of the mould/damp so has given us a dehumidifier!!
We are too embarrassed to invite friends or family over and likewise so is my daughter.

My fiance and i have been working to pay off all the debts that built up (£2,000 rent arrears £1,500 water rates, £500 council tax and a £1,500 electric bill). Thankfully we only owe £500 rent now and aim to pay this off by the end of may.

What we will struggle to do is save up a deposit for our next rented property. It will probably be about £1,000 for a months rent in advance and a deposit. We will get our deposit back from this house which is £380, and we will save as much as poss ourselves. We would all really like to move before summer as this house only has a tiny backyard and it doesn't even get any sunlight. The washing doesn't even dry out there!!

I'm tired of not be able to afford to help a homeless person get a hotel room for one night.I want to live in a house so i can have lots of room to invite church members over for supper or lunch.I need a car so i can offer people a ride when they need it.because i walk back and fourth to work but i know god would want me to have these things to bless others.I have always been some what ok not having these things before.But not having these things stops me from showing people how much god loves them.I'm also tired of the fact that my bills from lack of hours makes me not have money for others.
God doesn't want us to be selfish but god wants us to have lots of money so we can help others when there in need.The devil says i should be happy with what i have. but god loves me and he wants me to have things so i can bless others.The devil wants me poor so i can't help people more.God wants us to have lots of things he just wants us to be honest with ourselves for why we want these things.Help me in what ever way you want.God bless

The Grasshopper and the Ant
A Classic retold by Joseph the Beggar King
Part One

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there were two friends, the Grasshopper and the Ant. Why these two became friends is a bit of a mystery. The Grasshopper was a dreamer and a drifter. The Ant was a believer and an achiever.

In school the Grasshopper would look out the window without thought and only learned the subjects he found interesting. Sometimes he would fall asleep in Math class, other times when a angry teacher would jump him with a pop question he would give the correct answer in way that would confound them.

The Ant was a teachers dream, he soaked up every subject the system taught him, gave the correct answers in the correct way and got straight A s. He would delight his Math teacher by doing compound interest in his head. The Ant believed that what they taught him would help him succeed and was very completive. After graduating High School the Ant got an Academic Scholarship and the Grasshopper got a Pell Grant.

Within four years the Ant got two BS degrees in Business Management and Engineering. The Grasshopper dropped out after the first year. He went to live with the Rainbow Tribe for a few years. On the way to the bus station he found an old fiddle in a trash pile along the road and when he got station he was able to panhandle his bus fare. That was the Grasshoppers first beg.

The Ant took the College like a fish to water. During open Rush some Greeks invite him to be a brother in their Fraternity. He earned his dues by being the Frat Houses Accountant and made beer money by writing term papers. One day while visiting the Tri Deltas he watches the girls play volleyball and is amazed that even though they are playing a vigorous game not one of them breaks a sweat. It is there he meets the girl of his dreams, Polly Fishbane.

While the Grasshopper was living with the Rainbow Tribe he never meets the girl of his dreams, but it does not really matter too much because they believe in Free Love. So free, in fact, that after what you might call the Honeymoon he found himself getting a little bored with it. From the Rainbow Tribe he learns to live off the fat of country and from his new friend, Buffalo with Runs, he learns to live off the land. Buffalo with Runs was an very old Indian that was adopted by the tribe. He taught the Grasshopper what wild plants were safe to eat or use for medicines. He showed him how to set traps and hunt small game. Then, during one winter Gathering four people froze to dead because they were too stoned to come in out of the cold. The Grasshopper became very sad and hopped away.

The Ant is recruited by a Aerospace firm even before he graduated college and goes to work on the Apollo Program. He and his new wife Polly loved the Florida sunshine and settle down to start the American Dream. They decide to have two and half children. Even though the third kid looked a bit odd the Ant loved him as only a father can. With easy money down and mortgage tax deductions compliments of Uncle Sam, they get a house with a two car garage. Next they get two cars and the Rat Race is on. The Ant loves it! Working on the Apollo Program is more than a job, it is being part of history. Polly loves it! Raising their kids and Keeping up of with the Jones. She starts selling Avon products on the side. The Ant buys the best bass boat in the neighborhood, but only uses it once a year because he too busy working. He sets up his retirement funds and a small stock portfolio. Life is Good!

After leaving the Rainbow Tribe the Grasshopper panhandles his way across the country. He sets up in parks and subways where he pretends to play his fiddle while selling jewelry made of deer anthers and beads. The noise he makes with his fiddle sounds like a cat being killed and people give him money just to make him stop. Before the Cops run him off, the Grasshopper usually made enough in one day of begging to cover his needs for the week. When he is hungry he goes to a Soup Kitchen and when he needs clothing there are the Sharing Centers. Every now and then he lets some good hearted woman try to save him. Life is Good and he hops away.

The Apollo Program ends and the new Shuttle program does not start for a couple of years. The Aerospace company were the Ant works at does not win any of the new bids. They offer him a job in California at 20% less of his salary. Polly and the kids are in a rage. Nobody wants to move and leave their friends. The Ant sells his house at a loss because the real estate market in flooded by the laid offs. The one car and the boat are reprocessed. He sells off his stock portfolio for the down payment on the new house in California and even though money is tight the Ant decides to take the family on a short vacation to Key West to uplift their spirits. He finds the Grasshopper selling deer antler jewelry at the Front Street Market. While Polly and the kids go shopping, he and Grasshopper catch up and have a couple of beers. The Ant tells his friend about the laid offs and the move. The Grasshopper asks him - Are you Happy - ? The Ant says - Yes -. His friend says, - Good - . They watch the sunset and see a green flash on the horizon.

I have been in East Texas for the last near 30 years. The water company just keeps beating me to death on water bills. It use to be affordable but now it seems like its lining someones pocket with everyones money. I am retired now and have been for about a year and the social security checks just don't go far enough. If I could get a well down that would alleviate at least one of my monthly bills. I've already given up just about everything I ever worked for just to keep food on the table. My home is paid for so I am not looking at foreclosure, thank god for that. If you can see fit to help out I would be more than greatful, I would even invite you to personally join me at my table for a fresh cooked meal with the water from the new well. Its not a lot but its a lot more than I can set aside or raise on social security. God bless you and yours. I used to have my own studio that I shared with a roommate for 6 years until he committed suicide there back in 2006. The landlord asked me to move out in 2008 saying he was going to move his father into my unit, which ended up not being true. I didn't want to live there anymore anyway because of the tragedy that took place there. I rented a beautiful room in an apartment by the park, but the master tenant was a nightmare who ended up giving me 60 notice to move out only because I refused to side with her in harassing our neighbors. Now I'm renting another room in a house for much more money and in a less nicer part of town, but it would be nice to have my own little place again where I can cook meals and invite friends over for dinner & coffee. I can't do that where I live now. I stay shut up in my tiny room, just coming out to leave for work or to use the bathroom. I applied for a low income building that had tiny studios that rent from $730 to $850 a month. I got accepted except that I need $800 plus first month's rent to move in. I don't have that kind of money put away. My car's engine blew up in March and I have not been able to afford another. I have bill collectors chasing me every day for several years now. I used to have a good paying job, but I lost that and now work making half as much, but I love my job and the people I work with. All I want is to be able to come home to my own little space without someone getting into my business or telling me how dumb or strange I am. I really would like to move out by year's end. Imagine a family of 7 in a small 2 bedroom apartment. My parents are hardworkers living paycheck to paycheck. I would like my own room being the oldest. I share with my two sisters one room. My parents and litle brother in the other one. My 16 year old brother sleeps on the couch in the living room. This is a big issues because we all need our privacy. My brother doesnt get it here so he leaves and comes home after midnight we suspect hes hanging with the wrong crowd. he really needs his own room so he can invite his friends over etc. hes a teenager and teens just want their own space. Before he gets into anymore trouble I will need your help in ssaving up some cash to put a deposit on a 3 bedroom apartment. please help me. Im a college student and my money is tight at the moment and I was laid off. I need your help however small it is
