Deserving Musical Miracle

Posted by GuitarMom on 2012-05-08 23:58:23

I am seeking help to pay for my son's college tuition and associated fees. My son has been accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. It is an honor for anyone to be accepted to this esteemed institution, however my son's story is quite exceptional. When he was 10 years old, he nearly lost his right arm due to a post-surgical bleed. He was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder known as von Willebrands. He has been left with a disabled arm and hand. He only has use of his thumb on his right hand. His childhood was comprised of surgeries and infusions. When he was 12 years old, he asked if he could buy a guitar. He was so happy because he had seen Tommy Emmanuel playing guitar with a thumb pick on television. He purchased the guitar and began working on a technique to play. He can only use his thumb to pick the guitar strings and must hold his fingers in a special position so that he does not mute the strings. His goal since age 12 has been to study at Berklee. It is an honor to be accepted to such a fine school. Despite a severe disability he has been able to achieve this remarkable goal. Financing his education is going to be extremely difficult. Berklee is an expensive college and scholarships seem scarce. If you know of any scholarships that would be available for him please let me know. If you feel like you want to donate, it is much appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.

Teaching certification and a lady love.

Posted by Nonpareil on 2012-02-12 04:58:26

I recently met the woman of my dreams, accidentally...I wanted a penpal, so that I could practice my Russian (I studied it while in the army) and ended up meeting a wonderful woman. She has no interest in leaving Russia, aside from visiting occasionally (on business - she's an air stewardess) so that means I'm going there. I still don't have my degree, but would like to get my certification to teach English as a second language, but there is no institution in the US, which gives certification in TESEL or a CELTA and is covered by the G.I. Bill.

I have 24,000 of student debt already, and can barely make ends meet. I'm able to save approximately $100 a month, and I'll need about $3,000 in total for the certification. I sold pretty much everything that I don't need (electronics, games, etc...) and came up with about $1100...So that leaves $1,900 still. Any help would be amazing, I love this woman with all of my heart.

Want to further my education

Hello!

My passion in life is visual arts and how it can be used to bring together and help communities. I currently work as an assistant in an Art Gallery (I was lucky enough to be picked out of 30 possible candidates). I have dreams of setting up my own studios/gallery/cafe/community project combined in the future. I am planning to go back to university part time, whilst working, and study an arts and community MA to help towards my goals. I hope to meet like-minded people and useful contacts, and take advantage of the support and resources of an institution. I am saving as I go and looking for a second job to help towards raising the money needed for the course. I know I will raise the money eventually, I would just REALLY love to get going and not see it as something way off in the distant future! It's not a massive sob story, I know, but I am ambitious (I am the only person in my family to go to university, coming from a very uninspiring town) I don't earn a lot, and anything to help me get there quicker would be a huge, huge help. I am 100% committed to having a great career ahead of me and reaching my goals!

Thank you for reading my post and taking an interest! :)

"If you live life aiming to do things that makes YOU feel truly proud (however big or small or insignificant it may seem to others)then you are living a good life and that's all there is to it!"

Need Help Paying School Tuition

Posted by laugustin on 2011-07-24 12:58:29

I am a student at Cornell University and need help paying for college. I finished my first year in school, but may have to drop out due to financial situations. My estimated contribution is $10,000, but I do not have that type of money. My parents told me that they are unable to pay for my tuition so I have to find other means in which I can come up with this money. Please help me reach my goal of $10,000. If you have doubts of whether I am enrolled in this institution, I will send a copy of my transcript and any other means to let you know that I am telling the truth. Thank you in advance and God Bless.
My fiancee just lost his job for going out of his way to help a customer who needed to catch a plane, only to be faced with an angry manager.

I'm working two jobs right now, but I don't make nearly enough to pay our bills. I work as a math instructor and at a fast food restaurant. Once the fall semester starts, I will be making even less.

We have rent, student loans, and utilities to pay. In addition, I have over $1000 in medical bills due to an insurance goof that left me without insurance during a one evening stay in the ER.

A little bit more about us: I'm going to a small private liberal arts institution to get my B.S. in Biology and a license to teach middle and high school science. Teaching is my passion in life and I can't imagine doing anything else. My fiancee is an aspiring artist and writer. If we weren't struggling so much, he'd be able to self-publish his first book.

No Money and Depressed

Posted by jh1466 on 2011-06-13 13:58:54

I have had a hard time paying bills since getting out of school and not having a job. I look everyday for someone to just give me a chance and show how hard of a worker i am. This has been making me severely depressed and i now have trouble with self esteem. I can't pay my bills and don't know what to do. I'm having trouble getting loans from any bank or financial institution. This is one of my last ditch efforts to get help and turn my life around. Someone just give me some hope that there are people that care and want to help my desperate situation.
I'm a young, female, African American college graduate who strongly desires to attend law school, become an attorney and support diversity initiatives within the Legal industry on the West Coast. I have little resources, as I am caring for an ill family member. I have enormous student loan debt from my undergraduate institution, but I am in relentless pursuit of even higher education because I want to set an example for inner-city youth in Los Angeles. With a legal education, I aim to become successful so that I may give back as soon as I am able. There are tons of minorities who need legitimate examples of success, and I feel a calling to be this example for my youth peers. Please donate whatever you can afford, and I will be happy to further discuss my ambitions. Know that any dollar you contribute will enrich not only my own life, but the lives of other young hopefuls and revolutionize a struggling community. Thank you for your time!

Help a former homeless college student get by!

Posted by enoch on 2011-02-08 07:58:58

I was homeless and somehow made it a 50,000 dollar a year institution on a a scholarship, however the one thing the scholarship did not include was cost of books and miscellaneous expenses.

Please help me with my rags to SOMETHING story. I find myself getting so frustrated when I see people receiving packages and monetary help from their well to do family while I stand idly by.

I have tried to find work but it is really difficult to get around here with a car. I dorm room is empty except for books and a few things given to me from friends.

I promise if given the chance in the future I will use my success to foster the success of other students who need extra help to survive college.

band thousands in debt

Posted by petiethepenguin on 2010-11-08 02:58:58

I was in a rock n' roll band with a rotating group of friends from 1996-2007. No financial institution would loan to a group of young guys so I took out personal loans and swiped my credit card so we could buy equipment, make albums and tour.

We were very successful for many years but things didn't happen for us and we eventually parted ways. The debt was always discussed with everyone but we had many lineups over the years, and because of this nobody wants to take credit. I have been been trying to get help from them for over 30 months.

I was abandoned and left with over $30,000 in debt. We had many assets, stage/studio gear, an RV, I was able to liquidate everything in order to try to keep up with monthly payments and now have the debt down to about $18,000.

Since I have had to personally take on this debt and meet all the payments on my own... I have fallen into a personal financial catastrophe. I am pretty much living off of a credit card to make my utility and fuel payments just so I can get to work to make money to pay these other bills. Got to love the circle of life.

Now that I have sold off everything, I am in dire need of financial help to be able to keep up with the payments from here on out. I make just enough money to barely keep up.

Please... If you have a few dollars to spare please donate it! It will really mean a lot and one day when I get back on my feet I will be able to give just like you!

Pursuit of Education

Posted by JSmith on 2010-06-30 16:58:58

I was three years old when I began my educational career. My mother had petitioned for my acceptance into kindergarten because my birthday fell a week after the cut off date. The school accepted me though they were adamant because I was believed to be too young for kindergarten. I was sent home after my first week of school. "Mrs. Wilson, Jewel will not be able to continue kindergarten unless she is properly potty trained." My mother called me into her room. "Jewel, your teacher said you can't go back to school until you go to the potty." I never missed a day of class unless it was out of my control after that conversation.

My name is Jewel Smith and I am nineteen years old. I became one of five children after my mother's marriage. Now, I am the oldest of three in our household and my mother is a single parent. When asked, "What is your favorite activity?” most children would respond with a sport, videogames, or TV show. My passion is learning. I enjoy all subjects from sciences to literary works.

My mother strives to give only the best of education for my siblings and me. She made it very clear that we had to work as a team in achieving this goal. I attended a private catholic all girl high school through scholarship and financial assistance. I knew my mother couldn't afford tuition for my siblings and me. During my high school career, I excelled in AP/honors courses, maintained a high GPA, and participated in numerous organizations. Many people in my neighborhood believed I wouldn't "survive" in my high school setting because for the first time I did not attend a school with students who were of my racial or economic class. However, I was able to push through adversity even when it threatened to take my mother's life away during my junior year of high school. My mother's lung collapsed and some doctors stated she almost didn't make it. During my high school career, I learned people could cultivate their differences and come together as one entity regardless of race, class, or gender. I was able to maintain over a 3.5 GPA during my senior year and built a strong support system with faculty, friends, mentors, and family members.

I currently attend DePauw University in Greencastle, IN as an incoming junior. I have a declared major in English Writing with a possible second major in Spanish. I maintain a "B" average. I was granted a large package with my school that covers my tuition and some room and board. Unfortunately, the left over balance is still too much for my mother and I to afford. I was informed that I must pay the left over balance of $6,700 as well as my incoming fall balance of $4,000 in order to continue my education at this institution.

I believe that everyone has a special gift that helps the world become a better place. At five years old I knew I wanted to serve others as much as I can. My ultimate goal is to give back to my home community as well as those who are less fortunate in the world through education. It is through this letter that I ask for your help. I want to continue my educational career through undergraduate and graduate studies. I ask that you partner with me so that I am able to make my dream a part of reality. Thank you in advance.

Seeking out Generous People for a patient of mine

Posted by francisfpsoriano on 2010-06-29 18:58:58

Hello there. I am Francis F P Soriano, RPh, MD, a 35 year old resident doctor of Air Force General Hospital from the Philippines. I sincerely would like to ask for your sincere help. I am honestly seeking out websites hoping an individual or group of individuals would help a gentle patient of mine in whom I became attached with.

I have patient ES, a 65 year old elderly pleasant woman who came to our institution because of abdominal pain and was later diagnosed to have stage 4 colon cancer with metastases. She has less than a year to live following protocol.

However, in my personal opinion, I think otherwise. A lot of things about diseases and illnesses have been going on and even the worst cases would be healed. An alternative would be the way and I think I could help my patient avail of 4life Transfer Factor Plus.

I believe in this product which became a window of opportunity for sick persons to get well. Because of hundreds of amazing testimonials, I became an advocate of 4life and I sincerely would like to be their forefronts of hope to all other patients needing to believe that Life is good.

4life is the company with this encouraging organic dietary supplement which became a promising avenue of hope to those who are ill.

I really don't know what to say or expect. I am not a rich man Sir/Madame. If I would, I would have helped this woman stand to his feet and healed her long time ago. I would like to treat her on my own volition, but I need you sir/Madame by the grace of God to spare a little and make everything sustainable so that the money will be used to her recovery and Praise God she will be.

May you find time to read the story ... Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand, Matthew 14:13-20. I believe that God would provide. It became my personal motto since becoming a Christian since 1995.

Apparently, I am very eager to start her on Transfer Factor Plus because we are against time. (Another patient of mine is amazingly controlling the effects of malignancy, stage 4 Breast CA with bone metastasis, and she is in no pain at all).

Financially, we don't simply have the means. Even for me, the cost is staggering. I am in training mode and I earn only more or less 220 USD per month. I have a family to support with 1 kid. She and his immediate family are not much capable of buying approximately 63 bottles of Transfer Factor Plus x 90 caplets amounting to more or less 3,525 USD (56 dollars per bottle)

I am planning of letting her take by mouth 7 caplets 3x a day for 6 months.

How I wish I could make an impact to her life and her family in soonest time possible. I would like to simply help her. I and even she and her family simply do not have the means.

I firmly believe that God, relying not to my own understanding, would somehow and in some way provide Mrs. Seriosa the much needed Transfer Factor Plus. I know God will touch your heart and give and help my patient whom I care about. This is my affirmation of pledge to my patient.

Let this be my testimony of hope and eventual deliverance. Thank you and God bless you all.

Sincerely,
