Father in debt

Posted by nbt3pgh on 2012-05-06 16:58:15

I am an unemployed father of a newborn son. I recently lost my job of 4 and a half years. Over the last year I have incurred $10,000 in credit card debt. On top of that, my fiance has been reduced to 30 hours a week at her job. We can't afford to get our own place and each currently live with our parents. With our lack of money, we also are currently unable to plan our wedding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration.

Almost homeless college graduate and mother

Dear Reader
I graduated college but the jobs aren’t calling. I am a mother and have now incurred student loans of $12,312 not including the accruing interest for which I cannot pay back because I am not employed. I am not above working even low wage jobs at this point but I have been turned down by those employers claiming that I am overqualified. All of my savings are used up and I will soon lose my apartment. I really need help so please consider donating I will be forever thankful.

IOU $10

We have fallen hard, hit rock bottom! Financially we are drowning with no sight of rescue. My husband and I have been paying of his debt which he incurred at a very young age. His father, who worked in finance GUIDED him into applying for ridiculous amounts of debt. And this in turn has meant that now 7 years later we are still paying off his debts. We have been blessed with three beautiful children but that's where our luck stops. My husband is one of four children all of which have received financial help from their families, my sister-in-law, my husbands younger sister and her fiancee live at home with her mother so they can save for their wedding and a house deposit. Yet here we are, drowning in debt and can not get any help from any of our families! It's very depressing to see family members achieve dreams because they are getting generous donations from their family and you're the only one missing out!!!
We are just needing a hand up not a hand out!
We only $20000 to go and after a lot of self sacrifice, juggling three jobs between us, studying, raising three very young children and moving out of Sydney, away from family and friends to save money, we still have a long way to go! And it's the interest that's killing us!
To make matters worse, at the beginning of the week I was involved in a car accident. A four car pile up, with my car being the third car and the only car to be so badly damaged that I now cannot drive it. I had no insurance, as when we were living in Sydney we truly could not afford it. So now we are left without a car and the added debt of having to pay fir the car in front of me to be repaired.
We have no luck and could really use a break and to live a simple, uncomplicated life.

So I propose to you that if there are 2000 who would be willing to LEND us $10, when the time comes and you need the $10 back we will return it! No loss to you but a great gift and help to us.
Please we could really

I'm 25 and already feel like I'm 50. Unlucky breaks.

I don't know how I feel about this. I guess this is what happens when you get desperate? I used to be the one donating to causes. I haven't done that for a while.

I am 25 year old woman who used to look forward to life. I have a partner of 8 years, who also has seen happier times. In the last 12 months I have been diagnosed with clinical depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and panic attacks. It's paralyzing.

We both finished high school in 2004, soon after, my Nanna whom I loved like my own mother got a brain tumor. I was forced to quit my retail job, look after her (she had no money/retirement) although I don't regret it. I looked after her. She died 5 months later and I have been grieving since. It was very traumatic.

My partner and I decided to start saving for a home in 2006. We bought a very old apartment in 2008. We were both working jobs we hated 4 hours away from our home, but it paid the bills.

Then my partner incurred a life long injury in his back. He had to choose between work and his health. He lost his job eventually and I lost my job during cuts. Our parents were paying for our home for a few months.

Then my partners Dad got cancer. We both had to go on welfare (which was the most embarrassing moment of my life, I literally wept when the woman was treating us like the scum of the earth all because we had fallen on hard times). We ended up moving home to ease some of the pressure and to help his Dad out.

We found renters for the apartment in time, but the rent is not enough to cover the costs. We are in debt to a loan taken out to help us pay bills when my partner hurt his back/was jobless.

I then had a very public breakdown earlier this year. I haven't worked since February. I went to the doctors with our last remaining money to help myself. That's when I was diagnosed with mental illness.

My partner eventually found a job that accepted him and his life long back injury, but it pays half of what it used to. He's working hard, he does what he can. He does extra work on the side. He rarely gets a day off. And yet our heads are just above water.

The thing is, we're 25 and don't have any silly consumer debt. We did everything right, we followed the rules, we studied hard and we worked hard. And we just get tossed aside when we're not needed anymore.

I know there is a lot of people out there asking for help. I know, I am always so overwhelmed by the world and it's problems. I wish I could make a difference.

I am asking for any donations, as little as you can spare. It will make a huge difference in our lives at the moment, it will provide some financial relief. I will be able to afford to continue to go get medical help, same with my partner. And we'll be able to keep our apartment that we worked so hard for.

Thank you.

We are drowning in debt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Five years ago my husband lost his good-paying job due to downsizing and manufacturing closure. In July 2010 he ran out of unemployment. He works part time doing what he can; I work full time. Despite our income being cut in half, we were scraping by. Two years ago I incurred HUGE medical bills, and we are working hard to get them paid off but it just seems like we can never get ahead. We aren't asking for a huge windfall, just help to get things back to current.

Whatever money we get would help to offset our current bills and also pay down some of this debt!! We are in our 50s and the idea of retirement is nonexistant as we will be paying this debt for at least 15 years at our current rate.

Thanks for caring enough to read this. I promise to "pay it forward" when we get back to the positive again!

Help me go on

First PhD in the family in loan debt up to my eyeballs

Posted by hanna80 on 2011-10-23 18:58:05

I was told about the value of an education, but the joy of earning a PhD has been overshadowed by the over a quarter million debt incurred from credit cards, student loans, and a divorce. At 30, I am extremely overwhelmed and sometimes not sure how I haven't had a mental breakdown yet. I've calculated that if I could get 1 dollar from 325,000 people then I could actually have peace of mind again and think about the future more positively.

I want donations

I am suffering very much from the debts of money lenders . The debt was the expenditure made to the establish an English medium school at a rural area to the rural poor . The school was established on 27.6.2008 and closed on 28.4.2011 due to non availability of funds or donations and debts from all sources. We have incurred nearly 1200000 rupees for the period for free education of rural poor while expecting some help in the shape of donations from abroad as well as NRI. But in vain . The money lenders are demanding repayment with out interest.

STRUGGLING

Posted by justamom on 2011-07-24 09:58:30

The rent is Overdue, I don't have a dime in my purse, 2 kids clinging to me for every ounce of want and need. No child support checks, no family to help, or who would care to help. Old credit card , medical bills, and other misc. charges that I've incurred over the past 10 years remain unpaid. Sought government assistance and they only give you enough to do one or the other, so it's either pay my bills or pay the rent. I no longer have a cell phone, besides the free govt phone they give you with 70 minutes a month on it. I have a car, but it needs work, hundreds of dollars of work. 35 years and I'm still striving for a destination spot. a place of rest, stability, and contentedness. Wondering when and how my load will lighten. Thinking about running away, then I look at my babies and know that they would find a way to keep me here with them, their smiles, playing, hugs, and the like. I often wonder how I ended up in this place of not knowing, confusion, heartache, toil, lack, despair, and think why me, then again, why not me? Is God trying to show/tell me something? What, I'm all ears, and eyes, you've got my attention, and have had it held there for about 5 years. Everything changed when my mom left us, everything changed when she passed. You must understand my mother was a paragon, well I guess every decent kid would say that about their mom, but mine really was. If I were to tell you about her, you would feel what I felt and others felt about her even in a moment, a fragment of a second, you would get a sense of her spirit, humor, nuture, kindness, humility, charity, etc. I could go on and on about her. but you don't want to hear about that you want to know why I am writing this, and like so many other countless stories, what makes my struggle any more worthy than the next man or womans. I am in no position to tell you that my trial is far worse, or more deserving than anothers, I am not asking for a certain amount, or for one particular thing. Anything you send would be beneficial to any and all areas of my life and that of my children. I can only say that for someone who has dreams and aspirations of someday coming out of this fog, permanately, your donations would put me in a position of independence.

Help Request for 28 Days & Counting

Posted by LovingAuntie on 2011-07-22 00:58:59

As I was writing on my niece’s behalf, I felt to submit a request of my own.

In April, my unemployment benefits were exhausted. May and June of this year found me without enough cash flow to pay my storage fees. However, beginning in late August, I will be receiving retirement benefits, which will allow me to once again maintain a balance until such time I am generating sufficient income to have a place of my own and permanently remove my possessions out of storage.

While I remain diligent in my efforts to secure employment, I am still unemployed and my deadline for paying off the balance of my storage fees is August 18, 2011 in the amount of $822.18 (including late, lock cutting, lien and other fees), incurred during the months of May to August.

The space holds my family’s lifetime of irreplaceable documents and other valuable and very useful practical possessions, representing for me a legacy of work and living I’ve accumulated and experienced these 62 years, and intend to use for at least another 30 years. Many of the books, art work and other one-of-a kind collections I plan to leave for my sons and grandsons.

Vision with me that $30.00 from 28 people is sent to me at least once daily doing it for me. So, if you find it in your heart to give, and your fiscal resources oblige, know that any and all amounts of monetary donations are humbly received and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and effort.

Need help to get to a new job across the country.

Posted by Rowan on 2011-06-24 14:58:40

This is a not a request for help to just travel the country and sight see or go on a cruise. I lost my job in November of last year. My Mother passed away from breast cancer and heart complications, I had to take sick days to see to her care and then for the final move to hospice. The company I worked for had strict attendance policies which I of course cannot blame them for or everyone would take advantage of it. I have been unable to find work since and not for lack of trying. I have finally had a job offer but as I live on the East Coast and the job is in the Pacific Northwest, I do not have the money to make a move like this in my current financial situation. I also need a little help to get a (cheap) truck so I can get there with my belongings. The job is on a horse farm and my "horse stuff" will not fit in my car, neither would my car make it that far (1991 Grand Marquis). My home is now in foreclosure and I just spent the last of my money to pay my electric bill.
I never thought I would have to resort to this type of desperate measure just to survive. I have the chance to start over with a great job, I just need to get there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any help I receive will be payed forward as my situation improves.
Upon request to those who have donated I will supply copies of all expenses incurred, i.e; gas, food, and lodging.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

31 Year Old Single Parent Returning to School

Posted by TinaLynnLove on 2011-06-03 12:58:53

I've been out of school for nearly 10 years. I went to college and was very young and stupid I might add. I did not take my education seriously. The fruits of my decisions are unfolding as I'm unemployed and barely able to land a good job. I've put in applications everywhere. I decided to go back to school for nursing but when I was in school I incurred a debt of nearly 1,000. I managed to get most of it down. I now owe 340.00. This would have to be cleared before I can enroll. I plan on enrolling this fall for nursing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

In 2004 and 2005, Marine corps demanded that my reservist husband commute to Texas from Nebraska for drill because they were playing the paperwork game (nice as I can say it). he was at school down there for a while, but school costs became prohibitive so he had to quit and move back home. As a reservist, he was supposed to be within 300mi of his home, but due to a paperwork debacle they demanded he be in Texas. he incurred credit card debt every time he went down there, and when he could not afford to and had no more credit, instead punishing him when he could not make it, and finally kicking him out. He's no longer in, but the debt from those commutes still lingers. The military would not reimburse him for it even though they are supposed to. In fact, they took an additional $1100 from us in 2007 for another paper mistake that they made which we didn't have the money to fight! We need these debts paid off so we can get on with our lives.
This is about $2000 total, but any amount will help!

On top of that, I am also in need. I have been unemployed and I have old debt that needs paid off. The one that is not student debt that is in the most danger is about $500 and is in default. Believe me, asking like this is not an ideal situation, but I need to know that there are people that are willing to help a 2 year married couple get to a more financially sound place!

As it is, we are living paycheck to paycheck, playing a bitter shell game of bills Vs. food, and praying that our health and our 1 14 year old car will hold together for just a little while longer.

Neither of us uses credit cards at all and we don't plan to ever again. We have seen the hassle and want no part of it anymore. Its impossible for us to get on our feet and be productive if everyone keeps knocking us down, so please, give a fellow human a hand up and you will not just be helping us financially but you will be helping to restore a much tattered faith in humanity.

Money for hospital bill

Posted by Mimi2419 on 2011-01-03 08:58:58

I am in need of money for my hospital bills that I incurred after my doctor kept insisting that I needed to have a procedure done. I let him know that I did not have insurance, but he said that I really needed this operation to make sure it wasn't cancer. Well, I went ahead with the surgery to the tune of approximately $20,000. Now the hospital and doctors and pathologists have all bad debted me. I clean houses and my husband runs a pest control business that has really not been making a profit for the last few years. By the way, the surgery proved that it wasn't cancer. That was good and I thought that was done with until I went back for re-check and was told that every three months for two years I would need to have an ultrasound on my uterus to make sure it wasn't coming back. Thats $500 each time. Seems like I can't catch a break, as I need to find out what is going on with one of my breasts to see why it is feeling pulled and has two indentions. Right now, I would just like to get enough so I could go to the doctor with my new concern and possibly for surgery if necessary. I am a hard worker and would gladly clean someones' home for free for as long as necessary until debt paid off. Thank you for any donation.

Hi, I can't believe I'm begging online but here ...

Posted by 0 on 2010-02-19 03:58:58

Hi,

I can't believe I'm begging online but here it goes. I have incurred a debt of £45,000 due to the payment of medical services for my condition and I need assistance. A little donation from everyone across the globe (even £1) would help me out so MUCH! If I can get help with that then I can free up a little money to buy food and gas if possible. I understand that these times are hard for everyone right now.But some days I don't even get out of the bed because I'm so depressed and I am suicidal. If you could give a little to me (even pennies) please make a donation via paypal to ebayaddict9@googlemail.com.

God Bless You All and many thanks in advance!
