Repossessed Home In Need of Repair.

Posted by khannah on 2012-05-21 08:58:22

Hello, My names Kaylee and I am in need of a little help if possible. My parents divorced this year and it ended with me, my mum and my brother moving to a 2 bedroom repossessed property that is in dire need of repair. My mum works, but her wages only cover our necessities and there’s no room to save for the house to be repaired. Me and my brother help where we can but we are on little wages ourselves. We currently have no ceiling or flooring in the lounge and kitchen and every wall in the house needs repairing and painting. We also need a sofa and other bits of furniture as we currently have plastic garden chairs. I have a friend who is a builder and is willing to do all the repairs for us, it's just the part of raising the money for materials that’s an issue.
I would be most grateful for any donation that could help towards my cause and I know it’s not life threatening and in some people’s eyes not a lot of money but for us it could make a huge difference to our lives. My mum suffers with Bipolar and this can have a huge impact on our everyday life, with the house in such disarray this can cause my mums behavior to be very erratic and disorganised, I just feel with a home she does not need to worry about that it will help us all to lead a better quality of life :)

I am the 2%, or My Life as a Teen Mom

Since today is Mother’s Day, I wanted to share my journey thus far and what it’s meant to be a mother for me. My story is unique in that I’ve overcome various obstacles to gain what some may call normalcy. Now I’m facing a struggle in which I’m hoping to tap into the kindness of the internet in order to help me through this hurdle.

I was raised by a single parent and grew up in a town where most families were on some sort of government assistance and could barely make ends meet. I was always taught to value what I had and that hard work will always bear its fruits. My high school was filled with kids who didn’t care about getting an education. I was a introverted “nerd” who took Honors and AP classes and saw education as a way to get out of a town that didn’t have much opportunity for growth. While I valued my education, I was also bored to death, even in my “accelerated classes,” so I stupidly acted out and started to party as high school kids do. I ditched class to drink and dabbled a bit in drugs because there was nothing else to do. Even as I partied, I still managed to remain on the honor roll for all 4 years. Fast forward to the beginning of my senior year, our class had 250 kids and throughout the year approximately half of the student body dropped out at one point or another, giving up on their 14 year investment in their education. I made it to the end, but while everyone was excitedly responding to college acceptance letters, I had to throw all of mine out. Why? I was pregnant. I fully accept responsibility for my actions, but sex was not talked about in my household. I had no idea I had access to birth control or condoms and foolishly made a mistake that would change my life. I went to my prom and graduation 3 months pregnant without anyone knowing aside from my family.

The summer after graduation was spent brainstorming options and finding a job to help support my unborn child. I decided to keep the baby, thinking I would give it up for adoption. I was too immature to take care of myself, and now a baby? No way. As the months progressed, I fell in love with the baby and decided to keep her and raise her with the help of my family. I was excited but deep inside I was depressed. I really wanted to go off to college and live the life of a student living on campus, making new friends, staying up late to cram for midterms and possibly travel a bit. I couldn’t do that anymore and the thought of experiencing college in any other way didn’t entice me. I also knew if I didn’t get an education, I’d be stuck in a cycle of dead end jobs all my life. I knew I didn’t want to struggle like I’ve seen my family fight just to put a decent meal on the table and keep the lights from getting shut down.

I started college two months after my daughter was born. She was perfection and an incredible motivator. I’ve always thought that she deserves something better, beyond what I can give her but I decided to try my best to give her an amazing life. Since I just had a baby, I wanted to explore the opportunities I had outside of a traditional classroom in college. Luckily, the local community college offered online courses which only required me to be in class on the first day, at midterms and during finals week. I did this for a year and a half until I took every online course possible. Then it was time for full immersion into college. Here came daycare and having to balance college life with working and a small child.

My average day in college looked like this: we’d have to wake up at the crack of dawn so my daughter and I could ride a 45-minute bus to school. Unlike most of my classmates, I had to dash straight from work to class or go to work right after class so that I could pick up my daughter from school at a proper hour. I was very fortunate to land a job in a small office as an office assistant during college that would later prove invaluable. The pay was ok, but I was allowed to tailor my schedule to be compatible with my changing class load every semester. After our day was done came another bus ride. Once we got home, I’d have to make dinner, pack us lunch for the next day, prepare her backpack with extra clothes plus wash and prepare a day’s worth of bottles for my daughter. After I put my daughter to bed was the only time I had for homework. I’d stay up until about 2am every night doing my reading assignments or writing papers only to have to get up 3 ½ hours later to start my day again.

I did this every day for 5 ½ years.

Was it worth it? Heck yeah. I got my bachelor’s degree on my wall as proof. I am the first person in my family to ever get a degree. I have multiple relatives my age who ended up dropping out for various reasons yet I managed to graduate (with honors!) while juggling a small child and a demanding job. Aside from raising my daughter, this is what I’m most proud of thus far. I read online that less than 2% of teen moms attain a college degree before age 30. I’m stoked beyond words to be a part of that 2% (Source) I hope that this struggle and success will set an example to my daughter and show her that hard work does pay off.

After college, I worked a few jobs that I wasn’t too keen on. Too corporate, too stuffy, too bureaucratic to evoke any change and make an impact. I wanted to wake up every morning and feel inspired to go to work. I didn’t just want a paycheck, I wanted to engulf myself within organization so that I could kick ass and take names. I also wanted a 401(k), health benefits and life insurance so that my bases could be covered in old age. But mainly I wanted to wake up invigorated every morning and be able to pay my bills. After college, my daughter and I moved into our first home. I loved waking her up in her room filled with the girliest of things. I was a proud mama–on my own, college educated and living life as an independent woman.

Independent but unfulfilled. That is, until I was introduced to the CEO of my most recent employer. We hit it off immediately and within two week was offered the chance of a lifetime. I was invited to join his multimillion dollar company and close-knit team as his right hand. I’d learn all the in’s and out’s of running a business in a dynamic industry and receive a nice salary. After a bit of contemplation, I decided to resign from my stuffy job to join a company I was proud to be apart of. My job was great. It was flexible, nurturing, educational and insightful. In a few short weeks, I was in the trenches with my boss handling everything from sales to contracts to finance to HR. That is, until the company suddenly went out of business. I won’t get into the details but I was told I’d have a month before we were all let go. This was the job I wanted to settle in and dedicate years to, not just a job really but a mission to which I was dedicated.

I was laid off in March with no severance pay as the company had nothing. I had a small savings which I tapped into as I began searching for a job. I had to file for unemployment for the first time, which was hard as I’ve prided myself on not having to use government resources to pay my bills. I have almost a decade of solid work history and yet I’m struggling to find a job. Places are hiring but they’re scarce and don’t always offer pay that can support a family.

My bills are piling up and I have family and friends that are in no position to help me out. Unemployment can only pay so much and it isn’t enough to put a home-cooked meal on the table or keep everything paid. I’m in the process of starting up two businesses–one that peddles vintage finds and another that provides folks with stellar resumes to land their dream job so that I can increase my cash flow, but in the meantime, I’m asking for any donations to my cause. I’m willing to offer any services in return for a donation over $30 via paypal. There’s a button below where your transaction will be processed safely and gratefully!

For kayaker Steven Banks, it is going to be more about physical as well as mental endurance rather than simply covering a set distance around Marco, Goodland and Cape Romano.

Banks, owner of Dreamlander Tours, on April 20 will set out on a 24-mile round trip he estimates will take about 24 hours, including a night stop on the water in the vicinity of Cape Romano when he will be on his own without a back-up team.

He is attempting the feat to raise money for three of his pet charities, the Impact community outreach ministry overseen by local pastor Ben Sprankle; a Malawi, Africa, charitable medical clinic called Partners in Hope; and a Cuaravac, Mexico, mother who is blind and has an epileptic son.

A poignant Marco Island connection is that another of her sons, Benito, worked on the island, raised a family, but died in 2011 from meningitis following a mosquito bite.

Banks had befriended Benito.

“Before he passed, he asked to make sure his mother and brother were taken care of,” Banks said.

A trip to Mexico to meet them prompted Banks to do everything he can for them, and his goal is to have them come to the United States for treatment.

Banks has called his fundraising paddle Kayak Marco 24.

It will consist of the 24-hour paddle that may incur inclement weather and unpredictable winds, put him at risk during the Cape Romano solo stop, and put strain on his body because of being out on the water for such an extended time.

But he is not too worried about that aspect.

As a hands-on guide, he paddles up to five or six hours at least three times a week, so has plenty of residual paddling fitness.

Still, he said, the length of time he will spend out on the water represents an unpredictable challenge, so he is avoiding any kind of complacency.

Banks’ route is not a fixed affair either, other than he starts and finishes at the Snook Inn.

While winds are unpredictable from this far out, tides are not, so Banks is studying charts and conferring with some of his charter fishing captain friends to map out the best places to try to be at certain times.

The combination of headwinds as well as fighting an in- or outgoing tide could be formidable, he said.

If the going is really good, he added, he will probably put in extra miles.

The kayak Banks plans to paddle is not the sleek, 17-foot kind that could zip around Marco, Goodland and Cape Romano in a matter of a few hours.

He will be using an ordinary, fairly short and stable craft that doesn’t have much gliding ability, so every stroke will count.

While Banks’ sole motivation for the endurance paddle is for his three pet causes, a cherry on top may come in the form of recognition by the Guinness Book of Records.

The category would be “longest nonstop time period for a single person kayaking.”

The recognition would be subject to correct and exhaustive documentation, Banks said.

Hi there,

My name is Lea all the way from Australia. I have 3 beautiful children that I am raising on my own. We fell on hard times just over 1 year ago. I am looking forward to starting work in 6 weeks time. This is the most positive I have been in a very long time. The problem I have is with my car. It is 14 years old and runs fine sometimes. Last year I spent $1000 repairing an oil leak and a few other mechanical problems. Now though the shocks have given in and the car is not safe to drive any more :(. Today was the worst I feel, it felt like I was on a boat at sea :(. The expense to replace them with labour costs is astronomical. I really don't have the money to foot this bill. The car isn't worth a lot and I thought it would be better and safer to buy another one given the constant repair bills. I have always driven it nicely and looked after it. The timing is not very good right now. In my part of the world cars are very expensive even for the most basic one. I don't need anything trendy just a car for the kids and I. I need it to commute 35 mins each way to work and be able to drop them off at school and daycare everyday. A road worthy vehicle like the one I have now (Toyota Camry Wagon) costs $3,500. For a few months I joined various on line opportunities that all promised to make me money but what happened instead was that I lost the last few hundred dollars I had on advertising which was intended to invite others to join. Unfortunately, it didn't work :(. Please, if there is anyone out there reading my story will you send just $1.00. I am going to the bank next week to find out about a loan but I am unlikely to get anything. I was driving my husbands other car but two weeks ago he had an accident resulting in his main car being written off. He has now had to take his car back. We are currently separated and he is in debt a mile high. To anyone who would like to see proof of the repairs my wheels need I will be happy to supply them to you. I have nothing to hide at all and this is a genuine request for help with a car. I am sure to anyone this is a massive request and I'm sorry about that. I really want to get back on my own two feet. Along with starting a new job I am also studying on line as an external student of my local university. For now though a helping hand however big or small will have the impact to change our direction in life. Without a road worthy set of wheels getting to work will be a really big problem.

In return I am willing to offer an eternal friendship :) Who doesn't need a friend? I would also like to send a little present, something Australian to anyone who will help me out. I suppose as my start day gets closer the more anxious I am becoming. This car issue is causing a lot of worry :(. As things improve and I trust they will in time I want to help others on here too. To let you know a little more about us: A few Sunday's a term I lead the preschool kids Sunday School at my Church. I love it very much. Being a lone parent is not easy at all but I have come along way after battling a lot of health issues brought on by my husbands departure. I also give away any clothing my children have outgrown to anyone I know of that needs them. I also share anything I bake as long as it tastes good :). I try to live by being kind to everyone myself as one never knows what battle someone else may be facing.

Hi there,

My name is Lea all the way from Australia. I have 3 beautiful children that I am raising on my own. I am looking forward to starting work in 6 weeks time.

New mom needs to start business for her daughter's future

Posted by bessiedawning on 2012-02-28 09:58:47

I am a new mom of a wonderful 5 month old girl. Like many new parents all I want is to be sure my daughter grows up in a happy, healthy and loving family. I come from a very low income family who struggles to pay our bills every month and worries about our child financial well being. What I am looking for is a person who is well off enough to help me start my business of growing gourmet mushrooms.I have years of experience in gardening and have cultivated shiitake mushrooms for friends before and I know if I only had the money to do so I can be successful in supplying our community with gourmet mushrooms. I would like to be able to support my family and daughter without government assistance and save for her future. I have always had a strong desire and passion to help support local grown food. Coming from a culinary background I know the importance and impact that local sustainable food can have on a local economy. My plan is to start growing shiitake and oyster mushrooms to supply local restaurants and to sell at farmers markets.I already have the structure suitable for growing oyster mushrooms all I need is the money for a growers licence and supplies approximately 2000$. If you are interested in helping me get started in my endeavors or have any questions for me please feel free to send them to bessiedawning@yahoo.com. Thank you for your consideration.

We need help with taxes

Posted by nt1962 on 2012-02-17 15:58:59

We desperately need your help! We are a small church located in an economically disadvantaged community. We own a house that was deeded over to us by a former pastor and are at risk of losing that property because of our inability to pay some past due taxes on the property.

The house was deeded to the church over 30 years ago by a former pastor of the church who had become ill and subsequently passed away. The house is not located in the same community as the church. (In fact, it is some distance away from the church, and therefore could not be utilized for church-related purposes which would have taken it off of the tax roll). As a result of gentrification in that community, the property values have increased tremendously. The property tax assessment for the property owned by the church escalated to staggering heights during the housing bubble.

Because of this the church has had much difficulty keeping up with all of the taxes on the property (a general tax, a school tax, and a village tax). The rental income from the property is used to assist the church with operating expenses, maintenance of all of the church properties, as well as paying the taxes. Finally, reassessment in the last couple of years has brought down the amount of taxes to be paid and we are better able to handle some of the current taxes due, but some of the older taxes were sold and consolidated in tax lien sales. The consolidation of the prior taxes due has hurt us tremendously. Numerous times the unpaid taxes were consolidated prior to our completion of raising enough funds to pay off some of them in their unconsolidated state. Individually some were $1,000 to $3,000 respectively. They have been consolidated totaling almost $19,000. We are not permitted to pay the liens individually which was viable, we have to pay them in total.

There is a holding company based in the community where the house is located which purchased those liens. That company is now a few months away from being able to begin foreclosure proceedings and take a valuable piece of real estate out from under the church. This would be devastating to the church.

The church has been in the process of trying to sell the house and use the proceeds from the sale to build a much needed new church building in the community it is located as well as to pay off those outstanding liens at closing, and to unload a property that was once a blessing to the church, but has long since become a burden. We don’t want to lose the property. We want to be able to sell it. We had some offers on the house, but at the last minute a promising deal fell through. Previously interested buyers, for some reason now, are less interested. We feel it is possible that there may some collusion within the community where the house is located to wait for the lien process to move forward and that potential purchasers connected with the holding company will be able to take the property and flip it to tremendous financial advantage, while leaving the church with nothing for thirty years of struggling to take care of the property.

It is important that we are allowed to sell the house and build our new church. We are in the final stages of making the new building a reality. All we have to do is secure the construction financing. Receipt of a commitment letter for the sale of the house is all that stands in the way of a 40+ year dream for the congregation. It would give us the down-payment that we need to move forward.

With the construction of a new church, we would be able to operate before and after school programs, have handicap accessible restrooms, and provide better services to the community. We have a senior citizens housing complex across the street from our church, and many of the residents would attend our church but they are unable to climb up and down the stairs to the single-person restrooms in the basement. We also operate a summer day camp which would benefit greatly from having more space in which to operate. We would be able to accommodate many more youngsters, many of whose families are unable to afford the other summer camps operating in the area. We have had to turn down prospective campers because of space constraints.

Our congregational makeup has changed over the years. The financial impact of that changed has been coupled with the severe impact of the economic downturn on our community. We have more retirees now on fixed income, youth, and small children, many of whom have young mothers, and some people who are working age, mostly with working class wages. We need to build a church to better meet the needs of our congregation and community. We operate a food pantry and soup kitchen which would be able to open more days a week with bigger pantry space and a modern commercial kitchen.

As I stated, we are in the final stages of the building project. We have our permits, plans, and contractor selected. We are ready to obtain financing. The congregation, which has always striven to do much with little, has invested much in this projected over the years and the sale of this property owned by the church is the one thing that stands in the way of it happening. Please do not let us lose this property just so a few people can make a quick buck. Help us to pay off these tax liens so that our church will be able to help transform an entire community!

help me get people swimming

Posted by psquire on 2012-01-24 10:58:16

Hello one and all,

As some of you may know and for those that dont i am completely passionate about swimming...in any water at any time any where and with as many people as i can, and i am equally passionate about encouraging others to do the same. I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching each and every person that i have come across that has asked for it (and some that haven't), whether that is for an event, a race, fitness, mental health what ever the reason, i have endeavored to create a safe environment were all feel safe, achieve, surpass that achievement and go on to develop a deep passion for swimming. I have met some incredible people along the way, who's reasons for wanting to enter or re-enter the water have left me breathless at times.
I would now like to turn that passion into something more, the group is expanding which i am overjoyed with, people are progressing, requests are coming in for me to help more and more people and each and everyone of them will get my undivided attention.

But i want to turn my passion into a qualification and therefore what to formalise what i am doing and 'be qualified' so we can get more and more people into the open water, the pool and into swimming in general. I also wish to apply for funding to the group so we can get training aids, wetsuits etc so the cost of starting in open water or any other type of swimming is not so great for people, i have been informed that if i am qualified and formalise the group we can apply and will certainly get funding for equipment. I want to make it a truly inclusive hobby or sport for people of all ages, abilities and disciplines. This last year has shown me how passionate i am about helping people reach their goals and i want to continue to do so.

But right now i need your help, as some of you know, i got made redundant (believe me i was not pleased about it) and money is not the easiest thing for me to find, swim courses are not held on a roll on roll off basis, there is a course coming up in March, but applications have to be in by the 6th of Feb, so essentially i have until the 5th to raise the money. My plan for the immediate and long term future is to get myself qualified then to raise money through sponsorship and any other means i can to get others qualified so that each an every one of us that wants to can get not only a qualification but a career in swimming, so we can keep the bug that is inside all of us alive and kicking. I also plan to extend this to other groups so they can be formalised and each of us do the same in our respective locations. There are no formal qualifications other than triathlon ones to teach open water swimming...as a trainer i will be looking to write a course for others to qualify in, we all work hard at our hobby, but i feel we could really expand what we do and really open it up to the masses. You know how passionate i am but also how proud so i do not ask lightly, your generosity would be appreciated, even if its just a penny...look down the back of the sofa....!!! I know times are hard for one and all so that is why i will understand if you can not help..if you can you know it will be money not wasted. For each an every one of that gets qualified a new swim adventure starts, we will be a team and who knows in the future we might be recognised for the impact we have on swimming and those who want to swim! How do you donate....via paypal as i think that is the safest way!!! If you can think of any other way i can raise the money ......let me know!!

My paypal address is pauline_squire@sky.com

Anything no matter how large or small would be eternally grateful. It goes without saying, my progress, the swims, the fun the laughter and the future will all be blogged about ...so there will be plenty for you to read about too xxxx

Help me save elderly neighbor's home

Posted by 222111 on 2011-12-29 23:58:24

Please help us save our neighbor's home. She is 78 and has no next of kin. She lives alone and has fallen on hard times due to the economy. She is so kind, always looking out for everyone in the neighborhood, but she is ashamed to ask for the help she needs to pay her mortgage.

My roommate and I want to do something kind for her, so we beg you to donate money to help save her home. Like everyone else, we only have so much we can give on our own. But, with the donations from the community we can positively impact our neighbor's life with a meaningful gift and alleviate this great stress.

Please help us give a kind lady peace of mind and donate what you can. No amount is too small. We appreciate your generosity and support!

Broken Family Needs An Angle

Hello, my name is Kenneth and I am hear because I have no where alse to go or anyone to turn to. I was once a proud man who had it all. I had a loving wife and 4 wonderful children, I had my dream home and owned 2 cars, I even had a nest egg for my wife and I to retire on.
Then on January 12, 2011 a drunk driver took that all away from me in a matter of seconds. See my wife was on her way home after shopping in town with the 4 kids, while driving through an intersection a drunk driver ran the red light hitting the van dead center on the driver side witch sent her into the oppeset lane and then she was hit yet again head on by another truck. My wife and 13 year old son where killed apon impact and the three girls in the back where in bad shape according to police reports all 3 girls had to be air lifted to the trama center. It has been close to a year now and everything that i had is now gone, I sold my house to pay off the medical bills that the insurance company did not cover (total coast $ 586,423.71) Then I sold the second car to pay for the funeral coast and to get head stones for my wife and son (total coast $ 12,000.00) for that. My nest egg was all I had left but I could see that it was not going to last long with all the special needs that my 3 girls now needed since the accident. I have tryed to strech it as far as I can but their is nothing left, and now my worst fears are about to come true and that my girls who have suffered so much this past year and who has lost so much where about to suffer once again.

So they are the reason I am hear asking everyone, or anyone PLEASE help so they don't have to suffer PLEASE I don't know what alse to do except pray and hope that their are kind souls who are will to help with what ever you can.

Please help, We're about to be homeless

Posted by weneedanangel on 2011-09-30 01:58:12

We are a couple, aged 37 and 38. It takes a lot for us to ask for help, but if any can be given - no matter how small - if a lot of people give a little, it can add up to a lot ;) - it would be an absolute godsend. In the past I have always tried to help, whether it was picking up someone asking for food and taking them to buy food at the grocery store, helping another couple with children with a house payment, or simply offering them a job (odd job around my home or even with the company I used to work for before I was laid off.) .

We're about to lose our home. I recently recieved a cut off notice for our utilities and in order to keep them on it will cost $181.61 the balance due however is $188.00. This will not matter however, because I don't have the funds to make the house payment coming due on the 12th of October. I am 399.00 short on the payment. The balance we owe on our home is $6,320.00. Once the house is paid off we will be able to pay $180.00 for lot rent instead of $580.00 for lot rent and house payment.. (Of which only $200.00 goes towards the balance if not paid in full - which is .32 more payments at $580.00 a month). If we can just get our home paid off we would be okay - even with child support garnishing 54% of my pay. By law Child Support Enforcement can garnish up to 65% of a payee's pay.

Just to be up front, I do have a job. Unfortunately I only work about 30 hours a week on average at minimum wage. I am very happy for my job, but after child support garnishes $478.00 a month from my paycheck we can barely make the house payment most months. I have filed for a reduction of child support, but they refuse to use my legitmate income, instead using the income I made previously when I was in a position to help others, and did so regularly. My employer has even filed an affidavit with child support enforcement stating they cannot offer me more then 32 hours and that I make minimum wage. I am curretly looking for a second job, or another job that pays better to take the place of the job I now hold. If anyone has any IT professional positions, please let me know as I would love to come work for you, or your company. That would be the best way to help us out.

My boyfriend would love to work, but he is disabled and currently has an application in with Social Security Disability, unfortunately it takes a long time for it to come through, and by the time it does we will have already lost our home. He was disabled 2 years ago last July when he was working on a wireless tower that was 80 foot tall. It collapsed under him and he is very lucky to have survived the fall, however, when he came down he landed on his ankle and the impact caused the joint to turn around backwards and upside down. He has had surgery for this, unfortunately it is still not right. He cannot straighten out his foot to walk. Because of shortening of the tendons on the inside and front of his ankle he is not able to balance or apply weight to the ankle for more then a few moments. And even that short amount of time causes him extreme pain. He tries to help around the house by doing chores such as mowing our small patch of lawn, but even that small chore takes him over 3 days to complete. My employer does not offer medical insurance, so we are without it. It makes it impossible to go to a doctor to help him get the medical assistance needed to 1. fix his ankle completely and 2. pain management. So he perseveres and does as much as he can.

Every day I have to try to get my 1984 Volvo 240 Station Wagon running so I can get to work that day. When I try to pull out onto the highway to go to work it bogs down like it is under water. It takes crossed fingers, prayer and much clutch/gas pedal manipulation for the car to pull out... and even more to get it to the speed limit. It is very scary because there is a blind corner that people speed around regularly and I'm just waiting for the day I get hit trying to pull out. Unfortunately we don't know what is wrong with it and do not have the ability to take it to a mechanic to see if they can do a diagnostic, much less pay to have it repaired. So if anyone is willing to donate their time and possibly parts to get the car up and running safely it would be greatly appreciated. It is the only legal vehicle we have.

I am trying to do odd jobs around town as well as sell jewelry that I make online and at a little shop here in Newport. It is hard because most months no one seems to buy my jewelry and the jobs are far and few between.

What is really sad is I know come the middle of October we will be homeless, my daughter's dog, Kenji and my dog, Nikki will have to go to the animal shelter if I cannot find them homes. I know I would not be able to care for them at all if we have no home in which to live. As it stands now, I haven't been able to buy them dog food for a few months, and the Animal Shelter in Priest River does not have any spare food for them, so they eat what we eat. the good thing is they are fat and very happy and loving dogs.

If you can help at all, even if it is a little bit ($1, $5 or even $10) - if several help out a little it will add up to a lot; it would be greatly appreciated, and once we're back on our feet, of course we fully intend to pay it forward by helping others.

Thank you for your time and consideration... God Bless

save my home need $2000

I've like millions of others got caught in the crosshairs of this economic decline. On top of that impact I was left to save my home when wife of 17 years left;within a year i got deathly ill and was at local hospital ICU a month and a rehab Hospital a 2nd month, both in Ga, A spinal infection precipitated 4 minor stokes which in turn cost me my fulltime employment as a college instructor. I had served in Viet Nam and returned injured only to lose benefits due my new found anti-war position.
Like everyone else i finally got SSI and very small disability stipend.
Now each month my country dream home becomes a smaller prison as I struggle against the foreclosure monster. My mortgage equals my SSI so electric bills, medical bills, car insurance. (1985 Nisson) get juggled if im well enough to earn extra.
It's a long story but they all are.
I have a couple of creative projects with potential but my fear and day to day struggle drain me. I ve written most of a unique stage play/rock musical working title "God died in 66". An investment in the work would be considered{was in 1969 Chicago cast of Hair,as well as movies such as LeoFrank on GPS tonite }.
I am however begging for your help at this point. $2000 will dig me out of this financial grave

My Story
This campaign is to help me achieve my goal of attending college at Ringling College of Art & Design.

I am an artist that loves to paint, digital paint, draw, and be creative. Since I was in elementary school I was interested in art. In high school I was in Art Honor Society, Business Professionals of the World, DECA, and Art Club. After high school my dream was to attend an art college for Game Art & Design. I applied to Ringling and got accepted which was the best thing that ever happened to me. So that I can better myself and become a professional in the Game Industry. Coming from a family that is low on funds it is hard for me to attend school and pay for supplies for each class. I apply for financial aid but I always have a huge gap left over that needs to be payed. I want to continue my studies at Ringling college and become something great so that I can help my family and be successful. Both my parents do not have good enough credit to take out huge loans for school which is why I am making this campaign to help me on my path to becoming a professional artist. Please help by donating anything you can. Even a dollar can help and it will add up!

I recently finished my first year at Ringling College of Art & Design and hope to continue in my second year in Game Art & Design.
The Impact

By helping me reach my goal you can help a starving artist attend college to be successful. Also, let me know if you are looking for any custom artwork.

If the campaign doesn't come through I may not be able to attend my second year of college. As a full time student it will be hard for me to work and attend school. I will have to work while attending school to try and afford payments on tuition if I do not reach my goal.

With the money I receive I am going to give it to my school to pay for tuition for this year. If I can at least raise $2,200 I can work on making payments for the rest of the tuition cost. Anything will help bring the balance down for tuition this year at Ringling College of Art & Design.

Other Ways You Can Help

To help me in other ways you can pass this website link around letting others know I am in need of help. Also you can view my artwork at Http://AprilManuel.Tumblr.com if you are looking for any artwork to purchase or for me to make custom art for you.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

School clothes and supplies

I am a single mother to two great teenagers.I am also a recovering alcoholic (sober 21 months!) and a college student. Everyone is aware of the sluggish economy and the impact it has had on America's families. My little family is struggling to make it. The kids are old enough to understand why we can't go to movies or out to eat and have been great. But it's time for back-to-school shopping and I'm out of ideas. I am begging for some financial help. Please.

Random Acts Of Kindness Needed For Desperate Family Of Five

Posted by DesperateMomO5 on 2011-07-14 11:58:33

I believe in miracles and in God's mercy in times of need...so here I sit in great hope that this message reaches the right person/people somehow and somewhere who are able and willing to assist my family in any amount they can or see fit to give. A little bit of background on us: We are a husband and wife with three young daughters who are trying to provide as best we can for our children and keep them happy. We have been struggling for the past year now with finances as my husband's job could not provide the income we needed to survive. He has attempted to find something with better compensation numerous times but has come up empty in his search. Over the past year, we lost our townhouse and were forced to move in with relatives that don't even have enough room for us to stay.We now are unable to continue staying with them on the account that there is not enough room for all of us. My husband has joined the Army as a way to try and save us from becoming homeless and without a future, however, he does not start basic training until October and we do not have that long to stay afloat. That is a year that we cannot afford to keep up with. Plus we will not receive housing until he is finished with individual training for his job so we wont have housing assistance at all until next June.. So, this puts us in an unfortunate bind with no place to live because we cannot afford to pay the high prices of housing, without employment with pay to suffice for our survival(my husbands pay is below poverty level) and no way to pay for childcare so I can go and find employment. We have one car and are about to lose that also. We have lost all hope that our lives can be sustained despite our great effort to improve the outlook of our situation. I'm pleading for anyone who can offer any kind of help to us, to please donate to help us have a roof over our head and restore our faith in humanity and the world we live in as a whole. Please help us help our children who are innocent and undeserving of this instability. I have never felt so low in my entire life and need the miracle of kindness to overjoy me and show me mercy. I need to know that God has not failed us in giving us a chance to change our circumstances for the better. If you are still reading this, my hope is that you reach out to us if you are able to. We will try our best to repay you in some way. I never imagined I would need to write a classifieds ad to fight for our lives but I have faith that people will come together and extend their hands to us. I know there are angels on earth and need their help right now. In whatever way you can help, we will be forever greatful for it. No amount of help is considered too small or large and we will graciously accept with much appreciation. I feel horrible to have to ask and it makes me feel so low as a person but I see no other way and therefore am wearing my pride on my sleeve in hopes it will save us. Please only contact us with serious and good hearted intentions. I am trusting in God that I can trust in you. Again, thank you so much for coming to our aid. There are no words to express how worthy you are to us and the magnitude of impact that you will have on our lives forever. Send a donation to change our life. I will do a return favor of keeping all donators updated on our story and how their donation helped us. Love and Blessings to all of you.
