I am a 32 years old and a single mom of two,I lost my proper job last year, but luckily for me I got a waitress job that tided us over for a few months until I fell very ill.So at the moment, I cannot work, I need surgery. I cant take care of my girls. I need $1300 to add to what I have and have the surgery I need to get better. Love story that actually came true. My husband and I were high school sweethearts at Mascoutah High School. Both of our dads were in the military and we lost track of one another. It took 27 years for us to find one another. We were both still in love with one another after all the years we were apart. We found one another again on face book. I moved from TX and gave up a good career to move back to Mascoutah so we could be together.

We had quite a bit of money saved up but after moving here I have had a hard time finding a full time job. I took what I could just to keep money coming in but it is only part time and pays less than half of what I was making. My husband was disabled and awaiting a liver transplant so he only had social security disability for income.

Our dream was to buy a house in Mascoutah after I found a good job but unfortunately we never got to live out that dream. 6 months after moving here his health went downhill. We used all our savings to pay rent, utilities and medical bills for him going in and out of the hospital on a regular basis. No matter how many jobs I have applied for no one even calls to give me the opportunity to interview.

After all these years we finally got married September 30, 2011. This was our dream come true. We were really looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together but unfortunately that did not happen. My husband became really ill and passed away December 8, 2011.

He was so worried about me being taken care of and he thought I would continue to get his social security disability money if something did happen to him but I knew I wouldn't and I didn't have the heart to tell him that I wouldn't. I am only 46 and I would have to be 60 to qualify for his benefits. I am just happy that he passed away thinking that I would be taken care of.

I used the last little bit of savings to pay toward his funeral expenses and I was fortunate enough to raise some money by having a trivia night in his honor. I have enough money to pay the rent for February but no money for any other bills such as utilities or any remaining funeral expenses or to even buy a headstone for him. I also have a 21 year old son that I have been putting through college and now I have no way to help him continue his education.

I rarely eat or sleep worrying about how I will survive on my own and ending up on the street homeless. Some days I wish the good lord would have just taken me at the same time because I feel so lost and alone and I lost my one and only true love.


I have never had to ask anyone for money and I feel ashamed that I am but I really want to live out our dream of buying a house in Mascoutah one day but the most important thing right now is finding a way to survive without becoming homeless. I have no one else to turn to.

You don't know how much this means to me and I would so greatly appreciate it if anyone can find it in their heart to help me. I am trying to hang in there and I am really hoping to have some kind of future to look forward to. I have worked so hard all my life and I don’t want to give up on everything that I have worked so hard for.

I need 5k to relocate to Arizona. I have a job, but I am living paycheck to paycheck and saving money is not even an option at this point. Every penny goes to bills. I know my financial woes are my own fault, but I need a little help to get on the right track.

I want to relocate as I have a job waiting for me in Arizona that would change my life and my families life. The company will not offer me relocation benefits because of the way the job was posted for recruiting purposes, but will hold the job for me. I just need to get there. I need to fly out, get a hotel and rental car, secure a lease on a home (want to pay 2 months up front), fly home and then move my belongings from IL to AZ.

Seems easy enough. And with assistance it could happen.

I never liked asking for help, but there comes a time when we all have to at some point ask for help on something. I fell on hard times recently and I was evicted from my apartment about 6 months ago. My job doesnt pay me a lot so I am struggling to keep up with my car note, cell phone, insurance, maintenance, and general daily and weekly expenses. I nearly got my car reposessed 5 months ago and I've been staying at my ex-mother in law's house and my girlfriend's place off and on so I am not sleeping in my car. Most would think you could live with your girlfriend, but she wants me there it's her grandmother who's making life hard for the both of us right now. All I think about is the kind words my girlfriend tells me and what little she can do to help me and the most selfless thing she did recently was she gave me her last $20 for lunch and gas just so I could get to work that week and deep down many days I sit in my car before work and cry because nobody has ever been that giving to sacrifice her own needs to help me out. I want to marry this woman she's been nothing, but good to me and I feel bad that I can't do anything for her because I have nothing to give her which hurts me as a man because all I want is to make a life for myself and for the woman I love very much. I want to get in school to be a mechanic since I like working on cars and want to fix them. I want to give my girlfriend a proper life with me as her husband and being able to support her the way a man should support his woman. There's no words that could really say how much going to school really means to me. Whatever you can give will truly be appreciated. My husband and I have been married for 7 years and we have a four year old son. My mom lives in ellwood city pa and we live in stone park il just outside of chicago. We had plans to move to pa after our child was at a local park and watched a man shot to death, then my step-dad was diagnosed with Mixoid Lyposarcoma cancer. I have been out of a full time job for the last 2 1/2 yrs living at home with my dad which has been a total wreck. I moved in with him after I lost my job working for Pepsi back in June of 2008. I did end up going back to school for computer networking & I am currently A+ certified as a computer technician. I have managed to get short term contracts to pay the small bills that I have but nothing has come through that will allow me to get my own place. Living in his place has been a total disaster...he suffers from a crack cocaine addiction so that means he is constantly going through mood changes that I suffer from, he is constantly begging, I don't have much privacy & he is all around rude. I don't leave out of my room unless im eating, going to the bathroom, or leaving out of the front door. I have 2 sons's 15yrs old and 6yrs old and I don't want my kids here because I stay confined to my room & don't want my kids to feel confined. I often come home to the smell of crack being smoked throughout the house & it makes my stomach turn. I would like to purchase a foreclosed home for me & my kids that I can call my own. Everything here that I speak of can be confirmed.... I am asking everyone who reads this & cares or who can even relate to this situation please donate what you can. Even if I can't buy a home from the donations recieved I will get my own place and pay the rent up for at least a year & will have a nest egg to keep me going until I find another job. This is not for paying of credit cards, to make a million bucks, or for that luxuary vacation....This is to put me in my own home and for me to have a piece of mind. I don't know where to start with this mess. I lost my job of 7 years as an Operations Manager February 2009 along with all the benefits, I never received unemployment from the State of Illinois because my former out of state employer never paid their tax obligations to Illinois. March 2009 my wife suffered a brain aneurysm and was hospitalized for 15 days but survived. She then lost her job April 2009. May 2009 the coil that they put on the aneurysm shifted and she had to have brain surgery all over again. Her medical bills exceed $500,000 of which we were responsible for $25,000 thanks to insurance. The little money she got from unemployment basically kept us living and able to pay for basic living expenses and utilities. We have been unable to make a mortgage payment since February 2010, we have done everything we can to survive this far. Our credit is now ruined, 401k is long gone and our home is in foreclosure. As of the date of this post we owe Chase Mortgage $16,000 plus Attorney fees to get the house out of foreclosure. Our next court date is June 15, 2011 at the Will County IL court house and if the mortgage is not paid we will be ordered to be out by July 15th, 2011. We are scared and have nobody to turn to. We have turned to so many agencies for help and we hear the same thing over and over. We go to the local food pantry twice a month and live off of whatever they give us. We have a 13 year old daughter and 3 dogs who are also like our children. We have a 10 year old and 13 year old car and have absolutely no where to turn for assistance. We spend 40 hours a week searching for jobs and are trying to stay positive but everything looks so grim. We have been through two loan modifications with Chase Mortgage and denied because we are both unemployed. If we can get the house caught up on mortgage payments this will buy us some more time until one of us gets a job, otherwise we will be living in our car this summer with no where to go.

We need almost $20,000 by June 15th, 2011 to get back on track with our mortgage. We really don't know how much more we can stand. Our lives have seriously taken a turn for the worse in the past two years. We have never needed to ask anyone for assistance and have always provided for ourselves. We are good people who just can't catch a break.

Please find it in your heart to help my family and I. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Please even if you can only donate a dollar, anything is better then nothing at all. I am a 52 year old male with a permanent shoulder disability. I take Vicodin 750ES for pain management as well as paroxetine for stress and depression on a daily basis. I have been fighting disability for 4-1/2 years now and will finally get in front of an administrative law judge very soon. I have been searching for employment during this time as well but with no luck. Walmart would not even hire me as a greeter due to my medication history. Before the injury I was one of this areas leading computer technicians. I still have the knowledge but not the physical ability to do this work. All of this may be too little too late. The bank wants to repossess my vehicle and the landlord wants to evict me. I have sold most all of my personal belongings and furniture to maintain an existence. Due to my ongoing struggle with Social Security the only public assistance I qualify for is food stamps.
