Help me save my parents and famly home

Posted by hopelesscowgirl on 2012-04-30 02:58:00

I am a sophmore at college who is trying to help keep my father from being evicted from our family home and also help my mother and step father keep our horses and keep a roof over their heads as well. I am at the end of my rope with finding help. My father and step father have severe medical issues and my mother is working two jobs just to try to make ends meet to keep food on the table and food for our horses. I am at school for a Business degree in Equine Management, but I can only do so much to find any kind of money and save it to help. We have so many medical bills to pay and general bills keep piling up as well. I would really appreciate it if I could get some help with our financial crisis. Please help me any way you can that would be wonderful.

Losing farm

Posted by reagolen on 2012-04-22 09:58:31

I have used all of my retirement funds, I have no family to help us. We need money to buyout the lease/land contract to save this farm. We have until June and then we will loose everything.

Since living here we have boarded senior/retired/special needs horses to give them a place to live out their lives with the special care they deserve.

We also kennel dogs and have helped dogs be rehabbed for rescues, I also have boarded dogs for people who have lost their homes till they could find a place to live.

I have a fourteen year old daughter and I am a single mother, this is my dream, to help animals and people and to live on a farm. I need help, I know no one in the position to help us.

My daughter and I have sacrificed everything to make this place work, we've even gone without food at times.

If we loose this place we have nowhere to go and nowhere to take our animals. If we were able to buy it because of the circumstances our monthly payment would be a lot less and we could be able to maintain the farm and keep helping people and animals.

We have horses here now that would not survive anywhere else, it's breaking my heart. If you can help God bless you.

Help For My Animal Sanctuary

Posted by crazycatlady on 2011-12-27 03:58:25

I never thought of asking for help before but actually until recently didn't require it. Since 2002 I've been disabled from a work accident and on a fixed disability income. I was losing my mind not being able to do anything too physical as I have worked all my life so I began working with stray animals full-time. In the small town where I live there is no shortage of people dumping animals....mainly cats. Before I had my accident I bought my own home on 7 acres and I was single so had a lot of room to spare.
A few years later I met then married a man who turned my life upside down. I discovered he didn't like me or the animals and was using me for what little money I had until last year when he found a woman ten years older that him that was quite wealthy so he left me for her (good riddance). Well he left me over $70 000 in credit card debt and because of this every month I struggle to pay my utility bills. A few months ago I already re-financed my mortgage and paid off the largest of my debt. I now am in for over $20 000 and I am truly at the end of my tether. I was hopeful after being profiled on the news show W5 (March 5 2011) here in Canada that I might get a bit of help from donations but they made the episode more about animal hoarders which I am NOT and while they didn't lump me in with the hoarders they suggested that in the future I may become one. All the animals in my care are immediately assessed by a vet (she is wonderful, comes to my home and offers me hugely discounted services) and all are vaccinated and spay/neutered asap as I wouldn't want to add to the pet overpopulation and when healthy adopted out to vetted homes. Almost all are dropped off sick and require medications, some for life. Since I've been involved in rescue I've become well known around the village so I have animals dropped off almost weekly, and if by chance I'm not home many times people will leave them boxed or even loose by my back door/yard. Lately I've had to turn people away since I can't afford the surgeries anymore and I dread to think where these animals are going since there is no official local animal shelter. Currently I have 2 horses, 8 assorted chickens, 6 rabbits, 5 dogs and 38 cats that are ready for new homes. My feed bill alone is over $200 per week which would be fine if I didn't have the huge debt hanging over my head. Please help if you love animals and are in better financial shape than I am...any amount would be most helpful.
Thank you in advance for your time,
Xandra

Starting an Affordable Child Care Facility

Posted by AffordableChildCare on 2011-11-10 09:58:43

My wife and I are looking to start a Child care and learning center in our community, We are looking to build a facility using a Green building method called Earthbags we are needing some help getting started. We have a little over an acre of land we are going to start construction on soon that will include lots and lots of hands on learning and out door adventure as well as teach children and families to take care of animals, Cows,Chickens, kittens, puppies, horses, etc. also we would like to offer cooking and general maintenance classes for everyday people.

Part of our funding will be from donations from the community to keep fee's low, we are looking to have a small thrift store on site that people can donate clothes and other items to be sold and 100% of the profit will go back into the facility to keep prices low. and a small grocery store stocked by a team Extreme coupon moms. My wife and I have about $5000.00 saved up plus the land and we need at least another $15,000-$20,000 to build a 5000 sqf building to house the child care facility.

Part of our plan is to get the community involved in the build of our facility and in return help those who are interested in building a home for them once we get the learning center completed.

For those of you not familiar with Earthbag building do some google searches on the subject and you will be amazed at how easy and affordable a nice energy efficient home can be. Anyone who donates will be honored with their name on a dedication plaque inside the facility once it is complete.

Our goal is to keep fee's down below $50.00 per child regardless of age and in some cases free and to offer these children HANDS ON ADVENTURE, and learning.

We are all here for the very same reason, we need assistance & we need help. This is a little different for me as previously I had been the one linking others who were in need of assistance. I guess now it's my turn to walk in my client's shoes.

I've always found that when the smoke clears the situations we have faced and overcome were "end of the world" situations at the time. When actually, these situations ended up being not as bad as we originally anticipated. I have never asked others for anything no matter how bad things got for me and my family. Somehow things always find a way of working themselves out. I am the type of person that believes most things in this world happen for a reason.
I will not bore you all with my so called "Sob" story as I know there are others out there that are in need of financial assistance far worse then I am. I know this will be a long shot, but at this point I really have nothing else to lose. So here it goes, I am a 32 year old mother of 2 amazing boys, 15 and 8. I recently separated from my husband. We have been together for 7 years and only married for 1. He currently lives in FL & I am residing in MN. The reason for our separation was just recently my father had an anuyerism and was given only a 20% change to live. I drove 26 straight hours from FL to MN as I thought I was going to be saying goodbye to my dad forever. Obviously God was not ready to take a cranky old farmer/police officer as my dad pulled through with flying colors! Seriously, I am thinking God gave a second thought to his plans of taking my dad with him when he realized just how stubburn and what a pain in the butt my dad can be! I love my dad just the same as he is my Hero. Because my family is the most important thing in the world to me, I up and left my full time job in FL knowing the consequences of not having that job when I returned. Even after asking for extended time off my employeer would not grant me the time or approve FMLA so I could be with my dad. A whole different can of worms there! Well, since being in MN I have been assisting my mom in caring not only for my dad, but also taking care of the family farm, the family business of selling farm equipment and caring for their 23 horses.
I have depleated my savings and I have been denied unemployment. I currently live in a town with a population of less than 1,000 people. So needless to say, the job market is not booming. Thus, I have continously run into dead ends as to any type of paying employment. But wait, it gets better. I received a call the other day from my husband informing me that he feels as though he is no longer in love with me and would like a divorce. At some point I would really like a break honestly. So, this is why I am here today asking for a helping hand. I am in need of assistance to help pay for an airline ticket to FL so that I can gather not only my children's belongings, but also mine.
I try my best to find the humor in each situation as you maybe able to tell from reading this, but again I would really like for life to cut me a break. If you are able to help in anyway possible I would be forever greatful.

Thank you for your time.

Help to feed the horses

Posted by butterfly7171 on 2011-09-03 17:58:14

I take care of 4 horses, most that are rescues. I am recently on disability and the amount of money is not enough to take care of the animals.

They are not for sale as they are like my children and I pledged to take care of them for the rest of their life, God willing.

I am short each month about $200 and would appreciate any assistance anyone could give me. My horses would also appreciate it so they can continue to get their grain and hay.

Thank you !!

Horse Money

Posted by monkeyseemonkeydo on 2010-11-17 20:58:58

I'm 15 years old and I really, so badly, desperately want a horse. I have barely anything else in my life besides horses. I have been taking lessons but I need something of my own to love and care for. I know how to take care of one and exercise it, I just need money. Please, find it in your heart to help me out. I would never forget it.

Thank you for your time.

Help Save Family Farm

Posted by Kalila on 2010-08-18 09:58:58

We have 6 horses that are starving (drought, no grass.) We're having so much trouble making payments we can't even buy hay!

Trying to decide between feeding the animals, the family (6 kids, 4 grandkids)or making the payment on the land. Family first but without the farm where do we go? We can't sell the horses (no market.) We've sold everything we can already. We're growing all we can but with drought, crops are burning up.

Help please? No amount is to small and God will bless. I have faith that He will see us through with the help of angels here among us.

My name is Anne and I am asking for donations to SAVER, Inc., which is an equine rescue charity. To feed a horse per month it costs about $130, and right now we have 4 horses. As you can see, horse feed is costing $512 every month which is coming out of our pockets. Our only income is my husband's disability, and I have to stay home with him otherwise I would be looking for work. In our area there is very high unemployment so I am out of luck trying to get local businesses and individuals to donate. I am advertising on this website because it has a larger audience, and hopefully there are many horse lovers out there that can help us out. I will provide a tax receipt for next year. Thank you so much for your consideration. My email address is aawidner@gmail.com
