Veteran needs help with a car

Posted by kingneece on 2012-03-11 10:58:40

I am a 65 year old Honorably Discharged Vietnam Era Veteran and recent bladder cancer survivor. We have one car between us (my partner is 60 who had to quit her job as a Certified Nursing Assistant due to health issues). We have a 1997 Olds with 209,000+ miles on it that is on its last leg. A running car or help with some money to purchase one would be a real blessing. I am on Social Security and actively looking for work. Once we have a running car I can look for work. Thank you for listening.

Need Help Paying For a Dental Implant for 1 Tooth

Posted by zackxxx1 on 2012-02-09 16:58:49

I am a homeless, honorably discharged, US Army veteran, looking for help replacing a lower back molar tooth that had to be removed due to multiple cusp fractures. A dental implant appears to be the best long term option to restore my chewing ability on this side of the mouth. This procedure is pretty expensive, possibly running in the thousands of dollars, and quite frankly, I don't have the money to pay for this. I am hoping somebody can help me get this procedure done. Thank you.

Can't make rent

Posted by thetaci on 2012-01-01 08:58:25

I am a Navy Vet who has been without a job for 3 years. I have been living off of my GI Bill while I work towards my BA. My benefits ran out last semester as I don't quite qualify for the post 9-11 GI bill due to when I was honorably discharged. I am only 3 credits away from my BA and I am having allot of trouble making rent for myself and my 9 year old daughter. Financial Aid will pay for school but it leaves me nothing for rent. If there is anything you can do to help it would be much appreciated.

Short of blowing my brains out, I feel as though there is no light at the
end of the tunnel. I never could have envisioned being in the current
situation that I find myself in. Let me explain...My wife and I have been
married for 20 years and are raising 2 kids, a boy and a girl, both
teenagers. We always thought we were doing a good job at parenting...you
know, instilling laughter and family, morals and virtue, dignity and self

worth, etc. We just reached our 50's and were looking forward to possibly
traveling and spending some time together once the kids left the nest.
However, all that came to a screeching halt last year when our daughter
informed us that she was with child.(She was only 15 at the time!) KABOOOOM!
Talk about devastation. To add insult to injury, the young man and his
family went so far as to deny acknowledgement of the baby for the first six

months of his life, and to this date, (he's 10 months old) have not
contributed a dime to the babies welfare. To compound the injury, I was laid
off from work three months after his birth.
Needless to say, it has taken a tremendous toll on me and my wife. We have
exhausted our savings on rent, car payments, car insurance, utility bills,

medical bills, diapers, formula etc. We can barely buy food. There are days
I don't eat, just so the rest of the family can. I don't sleep much, between
looking for work and taking care of my grandson, (he is a blessing in
disguise. He gives me the strength I need to keep going. I put him to sleep
humming Amazing Grace) I find that I am experiencing intestinal pain as well
as severe migraines at times. I think I'll chalk it up to depression and
stress.

I've served my country proudly, and was honorably discharged...a few medals,
some ribbons, presidential letters of appreciation and so forth, but when I
asked for any type of assistance from the government I get denied because I
made a few dollars more than the threshold.

It gets better...the house we were renting was sold and we were given 2
weeks to move, we robbed from Peter to pay Paul to get into our current
residence. Now we find that we may have to move again by the beginning of
the new year, which at this time is impossible to do on our own. Needless to
say, Santa won't be making any house calls this year. (Although I will do
whatever it takes to make sure my grandson has a 1st Christmas.)

All of our bills are past due, due for disconnection or have been

disconnected. There is just no way we can do it by ourselves anymore. This
is by far the hardest and most embarrassing thing I've had to do in my life
and I'm not proud of it...however, as the song says "I ain't too proud to
beg". We need desperately for a miracle to keep from being homeless. Please
help us.
They say when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Unfortunately, I ran
out of sugar. Please help us. God Bless!

weeks to move, we robbed from Peter to pay Paul to get into our current

God Bless!

Begging for a little sanity

I am married to a wonderful man. He is an honorably discharged US Marine. While he was deployed in Iraq I had means to do pretty much as I pleased. We married after he returned from his second deployment and 6 months later I had a major stroke. My husband's CO immediately granted him emergency leave and had the company buy me some flowers. I am grateful for all the love that surrounded me at that time.

My in laws have struggled all their lives to provide for themselves. My husband has told me many times that he will not see his mother homeless. We have been living with them for 3 years now. It's getting old. My husband is supporting 4 adults on a bus driver's income. I have my own projects that I want to do and no money to accomplish any of it. My body cannot withstand the rigors of physical labor. I can stand without pain for minutes at a time now. A broken body does not mean a broken mind...
I just want to feel useful again and get away from my in laws.
Please help any way you can. Thanks!
Please, anyone who will listen I am forced onto the streets in danger of rape and murder, because I am not safe in my 20 foot 1977 broken down Dodge motor home. I can't go to WEAVE, because they won't allow all my pets, my family will not take me in with them either, and any friends I had are too scared of the guy I'm running from to help me, or they have left me, because they could no longer watch me being destroyed by this person. I love my animal friends and am willing to crawl through the mud with them because they are all I have left in the world and the only ones who always love me, although I can see their sadness and disappointment every day. Please before it is too late for us all. I am Misty, they are Angel, Kona, Rover, Chunky, Mama, Buckwheat, and Baby the newest stray I could not find a home for and could not stand to let them be put down. I have even been willing to be admitted to a mental facility or thought about getting myself arrested by the police just to have a moments peace. I am going through physical, psychological, emotional, financial, abuse and sensory deprivation. I eat 15 days out of the month at the most every month, for 12 years now, to make sure my critters always have what they need first. I am in a dangerous neighborhood with no transportation, and my health has deteriorated to the point where constant pain is here, and death feels around the corner for me. I had a collapsed lung, from pollups, during my last job while simply walking to the restroom on my break, chest pains, constant head aches, asthma, allergies, panic attacks and clinical depression, I have applied for SSI, and SSA to get benefits but it is a slow, repeated process that is very difficult to get if you are 37 years old and appear okay to someone who isn't really looking or looking deep enough. I have no medical, or dental, and need both critically. I also need flea, ear mite, and tapeworm medication for my pets. I just need a boost to get away, and start the healing process for us all. I'm not looking to be rich, or greedy just out of this very toxic, and destructive environment, and want very much to build a life for us all by getting healthy, possibly going back to school and definitely, work. I do have dreams, goals , and invention ideas, but no opportunity in this captive, unhealthy, oppressive situation. I wish to be a mom (to humans)if still possible, and truly in love someday, and desire mostly to be a good, kind person to others. I am willing to show our (critters and my) progress to whoever willing to help so you know helping me is not in vain or a waste, to your mental and emotional satisfaction. And will hopefully be able to eventually give back in return someday, the sooner the better. This help would save our lives, salvage our love and health , future and happiness, and the love and appreciation, I can already pay you back for right now. Honorably and respectively, and non-shamefully that is, or I would have tried less dignified things by now. I grew up with an alcoholic step dad, which, possibly, set me up, unknowingly, for the situation I am in now. This is not an excuse, but it is the truth, that I, apparently, was not strong or smart enough, or had opportunity, to overcome the result of that. Regardless, of fault, I feel guilty and regretful, and so so sorry for not. Please give me a chance, and WHEN successful, very hopefully, I will spend my whole life giving others a chance at a good life, as well. Thank You, so much for taking the time even to just care enough to read this. Please, please, PLEASE? And, HOPEFULLY, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Love always, Misty and furry family. (They're not human, but they are important. You never know they could save the planet somehow, someway, someday. Or maybe just you, same difference, all ='s 1 and 1 ='s all)WE LOVE YOU, WE LOVE YOU, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! I SAVE AND SPEND EVERY PENNY, SO ANY PENNY WOULD HELP. I'M TRYING TO STAY HOPEFUL, WHEN ALL SEEMS OR MAY BE HOPELESS. a KIND WORD MAY EVEN MAKE OUR WORLD GO ROUND. I DON'T TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED. IT MAY BE ALL I EVER NEEDED. I have no bank account so please email me at mrainbowfright@gmail.com for forwarding info. Sorry for the inconvenience, but if I have nothing to put in it, then whats the point?
