HELP ME GO TO SCHOOL

Posted by js2juicy on 2012-05-24 09:58:05

I am about 8 thousand dollars in debt due to trying to start my own online business and giving money to these companies, what they didn't tell me is that they keep asking for money. I have 4 great kids that I live for and I don't expect to get 8 thousand dollars but every little bit helps so I can stop getting these calls. Its even hard for me to get a job because companies want to run a background check on you first before hiring you on. I want to work more than anything on God's green earth, But this debt is holding me back. If I could get some help anything will help me out!!!

Help with my rent!

Posted by shylilme on 2012-05-16 20:58:17

I don't know what to do! My family lost their jobs (layoffs) and I have a minimum wage paying job but because of business, it's been really slow. Hours keep getting cut. I've been looking for a second job or another job and so has my family but no one's hiring!

Because I'm the only one with a job, I've been paying the bills and now we don't have enough for our rent. Please help! We thank you so very much.

About to be evicted

Posted by athomas91 on 2012-05-14 17:58:33

I have just received a notice that my landlord will have me evicted because I am late on my rent. I'm 14 days late. I've been managing to make ends meet but I haven't been able to find a job and my previous employer has went out of business after working there for 5 years. I have filled out so many applications, made phone calls, physically went in to speak with a manager and still no luck. I go to every job, career, or hiring fair I can and still nothing. I paid my April rent and had nothing left but $17 in my pocket. I bought rice and beans and that's all I've eaten for the past month. I only eat 1 meal a day because I can't afford to eat anything more. My light are off because I couldn't pay it. I've sold everything I think is of value...my laptop, my tv, my phone, and any expensive clothing items I owned (which were gifts). I'm 20 years old and my parents can't help, they are bankrupt as of 6 months ago. I try not to let anyone see me down about this, but I'm extremely depressed because of this and I'm trying everything I can to help myself.

I am the 2%, or My Life as a Teen Mom

Posted by educatedsinglemama on 2012-05-14 02:58:09

Since today is Mother’s Day, I wanted to share my journey thus far and what it’s meant to be a mother for me. My story is unique in that I’ve overcome various obstacles to gain what some may call normalcy. Now I’m facing a struggle in which I’m hoping to tap into the kindness of the internet in order to help me through this hurdle.

I was raised by a single parent and grew up in a town where most families were on some sort of government assistance and could barely make ends meet. I was always taught to value what I had and that hard work will always bear its fruits. My high school was filled with kids who didn’t care about getting an education. I was a introverted “nerd” who took Honors and AP classes and saw education as a way to get out of a town that didn’t have much opportunity for growth. While I valued my education, I was also bored to death, even in my “accelerated classes,” so I stupidly acted out and started to party as high school kids do. I ditched class to drink and dabbled a bit in drugs because there was nothing else to do. Even as I partied, I still managed to remain on the honor roll for all 4 years. Fast forward to the beginning of my senior year, our class had 250 kids and throughout the year approximately half of the student body dropped out at one point or another, giving up on their 14 year investment in their education. I made it to the end, but while everyone was excitedly responding to college acceptance letters, I had to throw all of mine out. Why? I was pregnant. I fully accept responsibility for my actions, but sex was not talked about in my household. I had no idea I had access to birth control or condoms and foolishly made a mistake that would change my life. I went to my prom and graduation 3 months pregnant without anyone knowing aside from my family.

The summer after graduation was spent brainstorming options and finding a job to help support my unborn child. I decided to keep the baby, thinking I would give it up for adoption. I was too immature to take care of myself, and now a baby? No way. As the months progressed, I fell in love with the baby and decided to keep her and raise her with the help of my family. I was excited but deep inside I was depressed. I really wanted to go off to college and live the life of a student living on campus, making new friends, staying up late to cram for midterms and possibly travel a bit. I couldn’t do that anymore and the thought of experiencing college in any other way didn’t entice me. I also knew if I didn’t get an education, I’d be stuck in a cycle of dead end jobs all my life. I knew I didn’t want to struggle like I’ve seen my family fight just to put a decent meal on the table and keep the lights from getting shut down.

I started college two months after my daughter was born. She was perfection and an incredible motivator. I’ve always thought that she deserves something better, beyond what I can give her but I decided to try my best to give her an amazing life. Since I just had a baby, I wanted to explore the opportunities I had outside of a traditional classroom in college. Luckily, the local community college offered online courses which only required me to be in class on the first day, at midterms and during finals week. I did this for a year and a half until I took every online course possible. Then it was time for full immersion into college. Here came daycare and having to balance college life with working and a small child.

My average day in college looked like this: we’d have to wake up at the crack of dawn so my daughter and I could ride a 45-minute bus to school. Unlike most of my classmates, I had to dash straight from work to class or go to work right after class so that I could pick up my daughter from school at a proper hour. I was very fortunate to land a job in a small office as an office assistant during college that would later prove invaluable. The pay was ok, but I was allowed to tailor my schedule to be compatible with my changing class load every semester. After our day was done came another bus ride. Once we got home, I’d have to make dinner, pack us lunch for the next day, prepare her backpack with extra clothes plus wash and prepare a day’s worth of bottles for my daughter. After I put my daughter to bed was the only time I had for homework. I’d stay up until about 2am every night doing my reading assignments or writing papers only to have to get up 3 ½ hours later to start my day again.

I did this every day for 5 ½ years.

Was it worth it? Heck yeah. I got my bachelor’s degree on my wall as proof. I am the first person in my family to ever get a degree. I have multiple relatives my age who ended up dropping out for various reasons yet I managed to graduate (with honors!) while juggling a small child and a demanding job. Aside from raising my daughter, this is what I’m most proud of thus far. I read online that less than 2% of teen moms attain a college degree before age 30. I’m stoked beyond words to be a part of that 2% (Source) I hope that this struggle and success will set an example to my daughter and show her that hard work does pay off.

After college, I worked a few jobs that I wasn’t too keen on. Too corporate, too stuffy, too bureaucratic to evoke any change and make an impact. I wanted to wake up every morning and feel inspired to go to work. I didn’t just want a paycheck, I wanted to engulf myself within organization so that I could kick ass and take names. I also wanted a 401(k), health benefits and life insurance so that my bases could be covered in old age. But mainly I wanted to wake up invigorated every morning and be able to pay my bills. After college, my daughter and I moved into our first home. I loved waking her up in her room filled with the girliest of things. I was a proud mama–on my own, college educated and living life as an independent woman.

Independent but unfulfilled. That is, until I was introduced to the CEO of my most recent employer. We hit it off immediately and within two week was offered the chance of a lifetime. I was invited to join his multimillion dollar company and close-knit team as his right hand. I’d learn all the in’s and out’s of running a business in a dynamic industry and receive a nice salary. After a bit of contemplation, I decided to resign from my stuffy job to join a company I was proud to be apart of. My job was great. It was flexible, nurturing, educational and insightful. In a few short weeks, I was in the trenches with my boss handling everything from sales to contracts to finance to HR. That is, until the company suddenly went out of business. I won’t get into the details but I was told I’d have a month before we were all let go. This was the job I wanted to settle in and dedicate years to, not just a job really but a mission to which I was dedicated.

I was laid off in March with no severance pay as the company had nothing. I had a small savings which I tapped into as I began searching for a job. I had to file for unemployment for the first time, which was hard as I’ve prided myself on not having to use government resources to pay my bills. I have almost a decade of solid work history and yet I’m struggling to find a job. Places are hiring but they’re scarce and don’t always offer pay that can support a family.

My bills are piling up and I have family and friends that are in no position to help me out. Unemployment can only pay so much and it isn’t enough to put a home-cooked meal on the table or keep everything paid. I’m in the process of starting up two businesses–one that peddles vintage finds and another that provides folks with stellar resumes to land their dream job so that I can increase my cash flow, but in the meantime, I’m asking for any donations to my cause. I’m willing to offer any services in return for a donation over $30 via paypal. There’s a button below where your transaction will be processed safely and gratefully!

Please pass this on and +1 it, favorite it, retweet it and share in any way possible! No action is too small or unappreciated.

Thank you so much for letting me share my story with you.

I run a weekly day centre for under priviliged children in and around the local area.

I fund the cost of hiring the room and the cost of any products or equipment which may be required..

I want to take the kids on a day trip if possible or do a really fun activity with them but dont have the available funds to do so..

Any small donation would help massively and would put a smile on everyones face.

thank you for your kindness.

I run a day centre for children who need it!

I need to make $200 per month to pay off my loan please help!

Posted by Aydan on 2012-04-30 23:58:57

Hello Everyone
I am a woman with cerebral palsy who is wheelchair-bound. I am looking for part-time employment. I have a bachelors of science in criminal justice. I also have some postgraduate training in public administration. I am looking for employment because I have to repay a $10,000 loan I took out my graduate education. Unfortunately I was unable to complete my graduate degree because I became ill. Now that I have recovered I would like to have steady work so that I can pay off my loan debt and hopefully once that is paid off return to school so I can fulfill my lifelong dream of helping military veterans have a better quality of life. Because of Medicaid restrictions I can only make $200 per month without losing my benefits. While I was in graduate school I worked alongside the veterans organization at my university where I performed budgeting and other administrative tasks. I have a resume available upon request. If you are interested in hiring me please e-mail me at donanausmc@gmail.com
Thank you for your time and consideration everyone
Sincerely Aydan

Did all the right things, now underemployed and need money!

Posted by DrowningAndSad on 2012-03-25 20:58:49

It really seems that I take one step forward and two steps back. After being unemployed for over a year I got a great part time job. It was brisk work over Christmas, then the hours got cut back to 11 hours a month. I have enough to cover buying a bus pass to get to the job and about half of my phone bill. I'm still actively looking and applying for jobs, but it took over a year just to get what I've got now. I really need some money to pay the phone bill fully $182(it's been rolling over for quite some time now and they've finally threatened to shut it off.) If I don't have a phone then I can't get calls from people wanting to hire me or even call places to see if they are hiring. Need money for my storage $154- I put everything I own in storage and am crashing on my friends sofa because I can't afford rent. I'd also like to be able to give her some money for putting up with me all these months. I owe her $700 for when she was paying my phone and storage before I got my part time job. That would be choice. It would be groovy to be able to buy groceries once in a while. This totally sux! I've got a degree, did everything you're supposed to do and I'm drowning in student loans, past due bills, and sleeping on a couch. Thank God for friends that let you invade their space. I tried one of those pay day loan places and I owe them $252 at the end of the month - my pay check will be a whopping $130 or so (after taxes). Ain't life grand? So my account will go in arrears - AGAIN! And i'll have to pay the $35 fee for insufficient funds. About $400 would do it by the end of March. Then I get to start all over again in April scrounging around to get money all while having a less than part time job. I'm not happy. But I'd really be grateful for any help. God Bless.

I am in desperate need of a job. I have 15 years of experience inn all forms of HR, payroll, benefits, employee relations, hiring, policy and procedure - both in a office and plant area. I'm good at what I do, and enjoy it, but I have exhausted all I had saved to survive this long. If anyone knows anything about a job, or has open, I would really appreciate an opportunity. Thank you.

Hard Times

Everything recently has gone to hell and back for me. My life has crashed and burned and I am not sure where I will end up. I moved to a small town with my boyfriend/fiance to support his going to a new collage. Long to short, after a year here, its not working out. When our lease is up I am out on my keester. I have a job, but only get around 4 to eight hours a week there. I have gone to every store in town trying to get another, anywhere, but no one is hiring in such a small town. When the lease on our appt. expires I will be homeless with a crap job that wont keep me if I dont have a place to stay.
However I have a chance to start again. A friend of mine is offering to let me move with her to another state, and stay in a house she is buying, but I have to save up money to do so. I have NONE. Literally. Every cent I make here is paying my current rent, and I am behind on that as well. I dont know what to do and my sister reccomended this site. She is moving over 3000 miles away and it will take alot of money for me to move. Any help would be appreicated, even if its just a word of support.

Hard Working Family Needs Help With Meeting Needs

Posted by IslandChic1 on 2012-02-17 17:58:08

Hello,
My husband and I graduated from our local university in May of 2010. We set out to find jobs but every place we applied was not hiring and after 6 months of this we decided to start our own business while applying for jobs as we were getting things started. Still nothing on the job front, and in February of 2011 after much planning we finally opened our own computer repair business. Business is slow going as we have only been at it for just under a year now. And we are not able to pay ourselves at all yet.

And just before Christmas of 2010 we found out we were going to have a baby. This was a big surprise as my husband has been fixed for 12 years and we have been together for 10 years with out anything happening. After getting him checked out, we verified that he is in fact able to have children and the doc didn't seem to know just how after 12 years of being fixed, that it could reverse itself.

All of these situations have come about and made it hard to pay bills, afford basic stuff like diapers for our little girl, and we are even to the point where we need another vehicle and we cannot afford to get one even though it is greatly needed so that I can get my baby to doctors appointments and WIC appointments. Also, so that my husband can still have a car to got to work and travel to customer sites.

I am looking for any donations big or small. Anything helps! I will be using the money to meet our basic needs and possibly save for another reliable car for myself and my baby.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate you taking the time to read my post and God Bless All of you!

Hello, everyone I was layed off from my job in 2009. I live in an area in VA were alot of factories have shut down and alot of jobs have been lost. I was able to collect unemployment for awhile, while I looked for a job in the only field I have ever done, I was willing to take anything but there was just no one hiring in my area. My wife is disabled thanks to a drunk driver hitting her vechicle head on with his, so she has very little income coming in. We got behind on our bills. But I recently found a job were I have to commute an hour everyday. We were starting to make a little head way but were still behind on our mortgage when my truck blew up. This is our only vehicle So I have been doing my best to find a way to work. But need to get my truck fixed I am afraid I am going to loose this job because of this and then we will be in worse shape than before. If anyone out there would be will to help I would be most grateful to you. If you can spare anything it would help. Well thats my story. I hope you will help me cause I am behind on my bills and am afraid we will kicked out of our home and I will loose my job.
Thanks,

Please help me fund my dream!

Posted by Modusoperandi on 2012-01-20 21:58:17

Hello

I recently started up my own opera company and I am looking to fund our inaugural production of Cosi fan tutte. I am seeking funding within the region of $6000 in total but all assistance is most appreciated.
The action has been updated to modern day Italy, we have our whole cast and venue up and ready to go. But the dream will vanish if we cannot get the money behind it.

You can find out more details about the project here:

http://www.pozible.com.au/index.php/archive/index/4727/description/0/0

We have a performance target date of March 18 2012 for the venture which is why we are looking for the money immediately. This is the best date to tie in with our venue, the beautiful Makers Market at Abbotsford.
Funds include costuming and props, set design, hiring chamber orchestra and instruments, publicity, payment of director and music director, buying rights to specific images and creating posters and programmes. The artists, including myself, are NOT making any money from the venture and are giving up their time for free.
I am a highly motivated self-starter with extensive experience in both the practical and administrative side of the arts. In return for your valuable help I am able to assist you to get your own business projects up off the ground in areas such as data entry, copywriting, editing, proofing and the creative process. Or if you are a creative organisation or individual needing a hand, whether it be through performance or administrative matters, I would be happy to help you free of charge.
Additionally, my wonderful troupe of singers can perform at your next corporate functioning or gathering - we will even travel as a special thank you!
This is an exciting new initiative that you and/or your business can get involved in from the ground level. I guarantee that this venture will make money - so if it is difficult for you to get involved as a donor, we can organise a repayment scheme.

I can't tell you how grateful I am. Thank you so much for your time.

Please help me achieve my dream!

Need to leave abusive relationship

Posted by JPWH on 2011-12-30 01:58:40

Hello, Honestly I can not believe that I am writting this so i thank you for reading. I am a mom to a wonderful 15 month old little boy who is my world. I have never been married however I have been with my sons father for 7 years, 5 of which we have lived together. Our relationship was "movie perfect" at first and it just slowly went downhill over the years. I am not going to lie, he has never physically hurt me. However I have been called names and degrated in front of people for the last time. I need to leave but I was laid off when I was 18 weeks pregnate and have been a stay at home mom ever since.......Just to give an example of what I have to put up with, we were at a christmas party with everyone he works with and in front of everyone he says you have something on your but and when I asked what he said Oh nevermind thats just your wide load sign. I know this may seem very small thing to some of you but thats just an example. I go threw these mean and hateful comments daily. I have told him that they hurt me and wish he would stop but he just said that if i dont like it I should leave...he said that hes not going to put up with me talking back to him since I have gained weight and became ugly, he says he didnt mind "putting up" with me when I was skinner and I embarres him. Now, I am not overweight, in truth I used to be underweight when we met. I could tell stories of the like all day long, and I havent even mentioned the emails and facebook messages I have seen of him telling other women how beautiful they are and how he wishes I wasnt a cow. I just cant let my son grow up in this life thinking this is the way he is supposed to treat women. I know this is part my fault for not leaving him sooner, but that is all water under the bridge now. I have a beautiful baby who deserves better than living in this "family". I cant leave without any money as I have no job. I have put in dozens of applications yet I an told they are not hiring but I will be put on the waiting list. Anything you can offer that can get me and my son out of this house would be forever greatful and if you cant donate a prayer for me and my son would be just as apperciated. Thanks again for your time, and for reading my story.....it felt good to get off my chest for a while. God bless

Single Dad trying to stay afloat

Posted by bthumudo on 2011-12-28 15:58:49

Not to proud when it comes to taking care of my daughter. It's been a rough couple years. The best part of it all is my beautiful 4 year old daughter who is my world. I fought and lost a lot to get custody of her but it was worth every penny. Thanks to her mother I lost a lot, my home, my car, thousands of dollars worth of possessions because of her drinking and drug use.

I've worked 2 jobs for 3 1/2 years to make ends meet. It's my daughter and I in a 1 bedroom apt, with a car that makes me wonder some mornings. I've had my house foreclosed on, had to file bankruptcy and had the bank remove items before they were legally able. That's another story.

Regardless, I am a hard worker and at the suggestion of a friend took a job here in Cincinnati with a company. Everything was great, salary etc finally, until 2 months after I started. They fired the CIO and my hiring Director. Brought in a new CIO who basically is cleaning house. Not based on performance, but on financial reasons. Therefore, my entire dept is being outsourced to Lima Peru. After the first of the year I may be without a job.

I'm kicking myself for leaving my last job. Sure finance wise it was a struggle but I was doing it. Now I'm not sleeping, worried sick as to what I'm going to do. I'm not looking for handouts, I would rather a good paying stable job in this area or maybe someone to critique my resume and maybe beef it up so to speak. I'm an IT Project Manager with almost 10 years experience but can't afford, nor have the time to get my PMP with working 2 jobs and all.

Any help is appreciated and will definitely pay it forward once I have the means.

Thank you for reading and God bless
