I'm in dire need of your help and I don't know where else to turn to save my husband's restaurant business of 20 years. He started from scratch, and we've been putting in the long endless hours. The economic recession hit us badly; we have used all our savings to keep afloat and keep our loyal staff employed as long as we could. The banks will not lend, so we've borrowed from family, sold property, downsized in every way we can, heartbreakingly cut staff to the bare minimum. We are indebted to the hilt. Bill collectors are calling, our home is going in foreclosure. We're afraid to think of what the reality really is, or we might go bonkers. We live by faith and hope, believing that each day we rise will be a better day than the day before. We have never begged nor have we ever expected handouts; we have instead been working hard trying to achieve the American dream and have given freely and joyfully to our community and others in need. But tonight as I sit here, I don't know where to turn; I have reached out to beg and it's breaking my heart, but I don't know where else to do. I am thinking a divine entity led me to this site, so here I am, begging for your help. Please help us, because it is bad. Not to proud when it comes to taking care of my daughter. It's been a rough couple years. The best part of it all is my beautiful 4 year old daughter who is my world. I fought and lost a lot to get custody of her but it was worth every penny. Thanks to her mother I lost a lot, my home, my car, thousands of dollars worth of possessions because of her drinking and drug use.

I've worked 2 jobs for 3 1/2 years to make ends meet. It's my daughter and I in a 1 bedroom apt, with a car that makes me wonder some mornings. I've had my house foreclosed on, had to file bankruptcy and had the bank remove items before they were legally able. That's another story.

Regardless, I am a hard worker and at the suggestion of a friend took a job here in Cincinnati with a company. Everything was great, salary etc finally, until 2 months after I started. They fired the CIO and my hiring Director. Brought in a new CIO who basically is cleaning house. Not based on performance, but on financial reasons. Therefore, my entire dept is being outsourced to Lima Peru. After the first of the year I may be without a job.

I'm kicking myself for leaving my last job. Sure finance wise it was a struggle but I was doing it. Now I'm not sleeping, worried sick as to what I'm going to do. I'm not looking for handouts, I would rather a good paying stable job in this area or maybe someone to critique my resume and maybe beef it up so to speak. I'm an IT Project Manager with almost 10 years experience but can't afford,nor have the time to get my PMP with working 2 jobs and all.

Any help is appreciated and will definitely pay it forward once I have the means.

Growing up poor meant that I was not afforded many opportunities as others. Having two alcoholic parents meant they preferred to keep the liquor cabinet stocked than to set up a college fund. While I love my parents dearly, I wish they could have done more to ease the amount of debt I already possess at a young age. At the same time, I know that my experiences have shaped me into the person that I am today. Nonetheless, I have been forced to acquire a significant amount of debt and am asking for assistance to have this debt paid down. As a child, I had to work hard to earn money for things that I wanted, often cutting neighbor's yards for money. I started working at a fast food restaurant at 15 to earn more money and have been working ever since. When I finished high school, I knew that if I wanted to break free from the shambles of poverty, I would have to attend college. Without any resources at my disposal, except for the small amount of savings I had, I was forced to finance through student loans. Four years later, I was a cum laude graduate, but had over $50,000 in debt. I know this debt is necessary for me to attain my goal of financial security for myself and future family. Still, assistance to get this debt paid off would be very much appreciated. I do not make excuses nor do I ask for handouts. I am employed in Washington, DC and working hard to gain success. Still, the debt is overbearing and a constant reminder of how much more I have to work. Living in Washington means my living expenses are incredibly high and therefore I have had to defer my loans for another year - the compounding interest is just adding to the problem. I simply cannot afford the interest right now. I know that one day all these sacrifices will absolutely pay off but in the meantime, I would like to start working towards financial security.
