$700 loan, will pay back $1000 on the 10th of June

Posted by arox2389 on 2012-05-10 16:58:40

I am a graduating college senior in a bit of a financial predicament.

1. I still don't have my cap and gown. I had one, but my car got stolen and I stupidly hadn't taken it out yet, and when I got my car back it was gone. That's $89.

2. My family is coming for graduation. No one has any money, and I just want to pay for their hotel for one night so they can see me graduate. I'm the first in my family to graduate from a major university, that's $100.

3. I would love to cook a huge meal for my friends and family while they are here for my graduation. I could work wonders with just another $100.

4. My bank account is overdrawn. If it doesn't get paid in two weeks, then I can't get my financial aid from my new graduate program I'm starting in a few weeks. Its my only bank account and I won't qualify for another one because I've made some major financial mistakes while in college. Its $75 overdrawn.

5. My phone bill is due in 6 days. To avoid service interruption, I have to pay 2 months worth of the bill, since I'm behind one month. The full amount due is $175.00.

6. I was lucky enough to find an apartment I can live in for really cheap for the summer, until my full time job I just got starts and I get my financial aid from my program. The deposit for the apartment is $150, and I have the rest of May absolutely free and can even pay the rent of June when I get my financial aid from my grad program.

7. The last 11 dollars is just to have something in my pocket, since I seriously do not have any money.

I know there are probably more beggars on this site than donors, but I figured it was worth a try. This is why I need the money. If you send me $700 via paypal, I will delete this ad and send you $1000 back on the 10th of June. Guaranteed.

job hunting but no luck so far

Hi I'm a recent college grad and mother of my 3 year old son. I've been job hunting since I graduated in December, but still no luck. My student refunds I put away during school are almost depleted. I'm just asking for some help for now, like $200-300. I know that's a lot, but honestly any little bit can help. I'm new to this and will be willing to to repay once I get back on my feet. Thanks for reading this and God bless.

Help for Grad School

Posted by dancinglawyer on 2012-04-10 20:58:42

Thank you for reading my post. I am hoping to attend Grad School in the Fall, but cannot afford the $60,000+ it would cost per year. I make a modest salary, but would have to leave my job to be able to attend school full time.
I want to go into advocacy to be able to help people who are not readily able to help themselves. I do some of this in my present line of work, but need this advanced degree to be able to fully commit to it.
Any assistance you are able to provide to help with my tuition would be greatly appreciated.

College grad desperately needs help

Posted by Carol87 on 2012-03-24 16:58:07

Dear Selfless Donor,

My name is Carol and I am a college grad facing extremely difficult times. Like many others, I have not been guaranteed success and steady employment after college. After living with my parents and endlessly floating from minimum wage job to another in a small rural town with no opportunities, I decided to take control of my life, take a risk, and move back to Philadelphia for more opportunities. I have finally landed a wonderful, amazing job in my field of marketing, but I just started so I won't be getting a paycheck for a few weeks, and I have no money left and nothing else to sell. I need to pay rent in order to continue on with my newfound career, and I am drowning in debt. I have over a hundred grand in student loan debt and am about to default; both of my bank accounts are negative several hundred dollars due to fees and returned payments from not having the funds; I also have credit card debt from having to resort to using only plastic due to lack of money to pay for things like transportation, food, and other bills like my cell phone, which is the most basic prepaid phone and plan possible. I am overwhelmed and my stress and worry level is so high, it interferes with my health, social life, and keeps me from being able to focus in my new work completely. I have panic attacks, nervous breakdowns, and crying fits daily and I have exhausted all options aside from anything immoral and illegal and have borrowed all the money I could. I hope that a generous person could give me the help that I desperately need and once I am back on my feet I would love to pay it forward to someone else who needs it because I know how it feels. Thank you.

Sallie Mae is killing me!

Posted by 6ewApp on 2012-03-04 18:58:22

I have over $50,000 in student loan debt, mostly from Grad school (Masters degree is required in my profession.) I have faithfully made payments on my loans ever since the in-college deferment wore off. But paying $500 a month on my loans is killing me. I am a single professional adult who is just trying to be a positive member of society. I have not and will not file for bankruptcy (my mother would disown me), I do not use any government subsidies, and I am drug free (my mom would kill me then disown me at the funeral/prison).

I recently went through a natural disaster and lost everything I own. I have gotten my house back to livable, but can't afford to save money for more improvements because of these horrendous payments!

I'm drowning in debt and unless someone helps me, I'll be drowning for 18 more years!

The Vegas Babies Fund

Posted by vegasbaby on 2012-02-05 17:58:03

When you were younger, did you ever dream about how life would be when you got older, that moment when you would finally be independent? My dream is to make the most out of my 21st birthday and to make up for the 21st birthday party my boyfriend never had.

In America, 21 is a magical number for us miserable youngsters who have not yet reached it. We live our lives waiting to get to that number because, when we reach it, we know that no one can stop us from doing anything. When I reach 21, I know I will be unstoppable. And what place on earth says unstoppable better than Las Vegas?

Of course, there is one problem: I am a broke college student and my boyfriend is a broke college graduate. . .With the high prices of hotels, flights, and, of course, Vegas gambling, it is nearly impossible for a college student on financial aid and a recent grad in today's job market to enjoy Las Vegas on their own pockets.

That is where, hopefully, you come in. Dreams do cost money. After creating a budget, I have calculated that, in order to fulfill my dream, I will have to raise around $2500.

This site is for anyone who has ever had a dream. Please donate today, and help me to fulfill mine

Broke Student Desperately Seeks Help With Debt

Posted by emwago on 2012-01-10 16:58:01

I'm currently a grad student at NYU and exhausted with debt. I can't seem to catch up. I'm working and going to class full time and it's just a lot to handle. I've acquired about $2500 in credit card debt paying for a computer, software, and books.

Any help would be incredibly appreciated.

At my wits' end.

I need help. :( I've never done anything like this before--and I never thought that I'd have to. But desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose...

First of all, thank you for clicking in; I truly do appreciate it. I'm having some financial difficulty, and it's putting me under a lot of stress. I'm a single 24-year-old female, and I'm a university grad. However, I certainly don't feel like one. I've been unable to find a job since I graduated two years ago. I studied Social Science--I'll never make that same mistake again. Just recently, for the past couple of weeks, I've been working a minimum wage retail job for 10 hours a week. I'm grateful that I, at least, have something for now. I just wish that it was enough to fend off my student loan payments, credit card bills (which have long since been cancelled), bus/transportation fares (I don't have a car), a bank account, which always seems to be in deficit, and whatever else decides to pop up and torment me. I've decided to go back to school again next September and attend college, with hopes that I'll be better able to land a good job. I'll rack up more student debt, but if it means that I'll be able to stand on my own two feet again, then I'll do it. But for now, I need a bit of help to get by.

I understand that beggars can't be choosers, so I'm not going to specify a certain amount that I need. But anything that you are willing to spare will be greatly appreciated; every little bit counts. Once I'm secure in my life and in my finances, I've made a promise to myself to come back to websites, like these, to donate to others who also need a helping hand. I think it's wonderful that such people, who are at the end of their ropes, have a place to turn to. It's encouraging.

Again, I thank you for clicking in and taking the time to read this. Best wishes to you and your loved ones, and do take care.

Monies to Relocate

I have never heard of anything like this...
I am drowning up here in Ohio...single, in my 50's...making horrible wages, despite being a college grad. I have a job waiting for me in Atlanta...I just can't get my house sold. Anyone interested and buying this home/condo...nice place but I cannot make the money I need to support myself. Selling is better than foreclosure.
Will someone help me...?
thank you.

Please help our son

Posted by beroc on 2011-10-30 20:58:02

My son was home schooled on his last year in high school. He applied to the University of Alaska and was accepted and also was granted financial aid. Being a home school grad, he was required to take a test or GED. He opted to take the test so I agreed to send him to Alaska but he failed it by 2 points. Then he decided to take the GED and attend class Spring 2012. One day when he dropped his friends at school, he was stopped by a policeman (i don't know what for) and then was taken to the police station and detained for questioning for at least 8 hours. He asked to speak to a lawyer 2x but no lawyer was provided and they stopped talking to him. While detained, the police searched his apartment, truck, took his laptop, and cell phone. His apartment and his truck did not have any of the items they were looking for. They released him and 20 minutes later they arrested him. The only evidence the police have so far is that one of defendants also being accused of the same crime stated that my son was involved. This other defendant, come to find out has a record of stealing. My son insist that he did not do this crime and he is innocent and that he was not even in the area when the crime happened. He has an attorney now and has taken a look at my sons’ case. So far the DA has a photo of his truck at a gas station near his apartment at 6 P.M. This is not unusual since this is where buys his diesel fuel. The crime happened between 10-45-11:00 P.M. after the store closed. This is all the evidence so far. I am writing to beg you for a donation to bail out my son until his court date. We are asking donation for the following: his bail is $40,000 which we need $4000 cash and we are putting up our house as collateral for the remaining $30,000. The lawyer fee is $7500 and our balance is $2400. In addition to the bail, court also requires a third party custodian before an inmate can be released on bail. A custodian is someone who will watch over my son 24/7. My husband, daughter and I will be his third party custodians and we will fly to Alaska and set up another household. We need the 3 of us to be custodians because we also have another son who is a senior in high school and we the parents both want to attend his graduation. When we get there, we will go to my sons bond hearing and also for approval of third party custodian. My husband and I will alternate every 30 days so we can see both our sons. When my youngest son graduates, my daughter will be the custodian while we attend the graduation. We also need approximately $3500 for living expense until I get my first check from work. I have secured employment in Alaska and my son will also look for and secure employment. He has been in jail since Sept 20,2011 and we want to bail him out on Nov. 4, 2011. Total donation we are asking for $9900.00. s Can you find it in your heart to donate money to help us?

New Family in Need of Assistance~~~

To all that are interested, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a college grad who has been working hard over the last few years in the struggling economy to get by and pay my student loans and other dues without having to rely on others.

Recently I became engaged to my fiance, who is Canadian. Just a month ago, we found out we would be having a baby and we couldn't be more thrilled!

Unfortunately, until my Canadian residency gets approved, I am unable to receive any health care in Canada, so we will be having to pay for the entire pregnancy out of pocket.

To make matters even more difficult, I cannot obtain a work permit in Canada because I cannot undergo a full medical check due to the pregnancy (you are not supposed to get xrays).

Any donation or offer you can give us would greatly help our family.

So Much For a Better Life After College.

Posted by Need2StayAfloat on 2011-08-12 06:58:05

I am a recent college grad drowning in debt.

I work a job as a cleaner, but barely make enough money to pay my rent and utilities in New York City. I am locked into a 2 year lease, so moving away isn't an option right now, and even if I broke the lease I still don't have enough money to move. I recently got my first credit card and had to max it out buying groceries and paying for transportation to get to work. On top of that I have student loan payments to make.

I have been trying to find a second job, but this first one was hard enough to find. With the economy the way it is, people just aren't hiring -- especially not in the field my degree is in.

Looks like this is what a college education gets you these days.

$10,000 would completely turn my life around. Anything that you can give would be a blessing.

Thank you so much for reading this.

At the end of our rope & not sure what else to do....

Hi there. My boyfriend of 11 years and I are struggling more than we ever have. We have a 1 year old daughter that is the light of our life and about the only thing keeping us going at the moment. My boyfriend lost his job in May. I am only working about 20 hours per week. We haven't been able to pay our rent since June and the bank called our landlord threatening foreclosure. The last rent payment we made we had to write a bad check and now the checking account will be closed on the 15th. This month, I has to take out a title loan on my car just to pay the electric bill and get some groceries. I'm considering applying for food stamps but have always been too proud. I'm a college grad and still cannot find a full time job. Our credit is completely ruined from when we were younger and we have unfortunately learned our lesson the hard way. If anyone could help it would be sooo greatly appreciated. If anyone has any ideas that would help us that would be amazing as well. Thanks a bunch!

HELP me give the woman of my dreams the wedding she deserves

Posted by rings440 on 2011-08-01 09:58:52

All my life I have done things right. I treat people well, worked hard from the time I was legally able to work, went to college, went to grad school, and now I am trying to marry the woman of my dreams.

This girl deserves the world when it comes to the life I want to provide for her, but keeping things reasonable, I just want to make our wedding day the most magical day of her life.

Doing things right and working hard has basically put me $80k deep in student loan debt, which is making it very hard to have money for a wedding.

Whether you want to help me eliminate some of my student loan debt or be a generous contributor in helping make our wedding day a great event, I will be forever grateful.

Please any help you can provide would be immensely appreciated!

Help moving out of NY

Posted by ADMP211 on 2011-07-28 20:58:33

I'm a college grad who has worked as a counselor for 3 years in New York. I need to relocate because my psycho ex is being released from prison for trying to kill me soon. I have decided rather look over my shoulder the rest of my life that I need to move to another state and start over. I have no one that can help and working as a counselor in a non profit agency leaves me with no money to relocate. I have been trying for months to find ways to get money and I have sold everything I own to move but I'm still in need of money to successfully do this. If anyone has the ability to help me they would be helping a former battered woman who is devoted to helping others. I have researched and developed a plan...I just need some financial assistance.

End of our Rope

Posted by lynn on 2011-07-06 14:58:30

Last year was a disaster for our family and we have now exhausted every possible resource and emptied our savings just to stay in our home. Two family members lost our jobs due to downsizing, and have been unable to find employment because with college educations we are "overqualified" for the McDonald's jobs. We are three grown children living in my mother's home and trying to contribute anything we can to the bills. She is working full time while also attending grad school, and her income simply isn't enough. She also has a young teen still at home. She loves sharing her home with us, but we have lost the ability to contribute.

At this time we have sold a few things on Craigslist in order to prevent our water being shut off tomorrow, but I have a car payment due (I need the car to look for jobs), and we have no way to pay the mortgage next month unless we allow the electricity and phones to be shut off. Any amount would be a blessing which would be combined with the occasional $20 we are able to earn by offering tutoring and music lessons now and then. Thank you so much for anything you can do.

In need of money for my Australian Student Visa

Posted by jrios001 on 2011-06-30 23:58:31

Hi! I have recently graduated with my BA and have decided I want to go back to school. Growing up I was always encouraged to further my education despite my limited opportunities and avenues for success living in Brooklyn my whole life. My mother was 17 when she had me, she was a single mother and raised me and my two brothers well, despite our circumstances. Going to college was something I never knew I could do, and last year I was able to study abroad in Australia for a semester (which was totally beyond my wildest dreams) I was able to request loans and I had the financial aid I needed to make the trip possible. Unfortunately, for Grad school, financial aid isn't very available. Going away helped me to realize that there is a world beyond Brooklyn and I want to explore it. I aspire to travel the world and report about it. I received my BA in Broadcast Journalism and will hopefully make it to grad school in Australia to receive my Masters in International Relations. I aspire to become a foreign correspondent. Please help me make my dream come true. I have exhausted all of my other options financially to make this trip happen but I still need $550.00 for my student visa before I go. I've already received my acceptance I just need to come up with the money! Any monetary donation is greatly appreciated!
