Please help me fund my dream!
Posted by Modusoperandi on 2012-01-20 21:58:17
Hello
I recently started up my own opera company and I am looking to fund our inaugural production of Cosi fan tutte. I am seeking funding within the region of $6000 in total but all assistance is most appreciated.
The action has been updated to modern day Italy, we have our whole cast and venue up and ready to go. But the dream will vanish if we cannot get the money behind it.
You can find out more details about the project here:
http://www.pozible.com.au/index.php/archive/index/4727/description/0/0
We have a performance target date of March 18 2012 for the venture which is why we are looking for the money immediately. This is the best date to tie in with our venue, the beautiful Makers Market at Abbotsford.
Funds include costuming and props, set design, hiring chamber orchestra and instruments, publicity, payment of director and music director, buying rights to specific images and creating posters and programmes. The artists, including myself, are NOT making any money from the venture and are giving up their time for free.
I am a highly motivated self-starter with extensive experience in both the practical and administrative side of the arts. In return for your valuable help I am able to assist you to get your own business projects up off the ground in areas such as data entry, copywriting, editing, proofing and the creative process. Or if you are a creative organisation or individual needing a hand, whether it be through performance or administrative matters, I would be happy to help you free of charge.
Additionally, my wonderful troupe of singers can perform at your next corporate functioning or gathering - we will even travel as a special thank you!
This is an exciting new initiative that you and/or your business can get involved in from the ground level. I guarantee that this venture will make money - so if it is difficult for you to get involved as a donor, we can organise a repayment scheme.
I can't tell you how grateful I am. Thank you so much for your time.

Laid off twice in three years.
Posted by laidoffnotpaidoff on 2011-10-31 18:58:30
I have been laid off two times in the last three years, current working odd job and rapidly gathering debt to pay bills and keep a roof over my head.I have over $13000 in credit card and medical debt and no way to pay it.
This is the first time I have even been unemployed for more than a week and I just don't know what to do. My gas was recently shut off and its getting cold.
I just really need some help.
If i can get out of this rut i will pay it forward to someone else in need.
*UPDATE- After 24 hours someone donated 50 cents. I know its not a lot but every bit helps. When you dont know how you are going to eat your next meal of pay the bus fare to your next job interview it really helps* Thank you all so much, every cent is a blessing at this point.

Updates: September 11, 2011 - I have been able to get a part-time job which is good news, but the rest is just about the same. Thank you for your help Malum Designs
and Pete B.
Since my previous posts have yielded only four donations over the last five months I thought I would try this approach. My financial problems are quite real. If you find my fable entertaining please send a small donation.

The Grasshopper and the Ant
A Classic retold by Joseph the Beggar King
Part One
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there were two friends, the Grasshopper and the Ant. Why these two became friends is a bit of a mystery. The Grasshopper was a dreamer and a drifter. The Ant was a believer and an achiever.
In school the Grasshopper would look out the window without thought and only learned the subjects he found interesting. Sometimes he would fall asleep in Math class, other times when a angry teacher would jump him with a pop question he would give the correct answer in way that would confound them.
The Ant was a teachers dream, he soaked up every subject the system taught him, gave the correct answers in the correct way and got straight A s. He would delight his Math teacher by doing compound interest in his head. The Ant believed that what they taught him would help him succeed and was very completive. After graduating High School the Ant got an Academic Scholarship and the Grasshopper got a Pell Grant.
Within four years the Ant got two BS degrees in Business Management and Engineering. The Grasshopper dropped out after the first year. He went to live with the Rainbow Tribe for a few years. On the way to the bus station he found an old fiddle in a trash pile along the road and when he got station he was able to panhandle his bus fare. That was the Grasshoppers first beg.
The Ant took the College like a fish to water. During open Rush some Greeks invite him to be a brother in their Fraternity. He earned his dues by being the Frat Houses Accountant and made beer money by writing term papers. One day while visiting the Tri Deltas he watches the girls play volleyball and is amazed that even though they are playing a vigorous game not one of them breaks a sweat. It is there he meets the girl of his dreams, Polly Fishbane.
While the Grasshopper was living with the Rainbow Tribe he never meets the girl of his dreams, but it does not really matter too much because they believe in Free Love. So free, in fact, that after what you might call the Honeymoon he found himself getting a little bored with it. From the Rainbow Tribe he learns to live off the fat of country and from his new friend, Buffalo with Runs, he learns to live off the land. Buffalo with Runs was an very old Indian that was adopted by the tribe. He taught the Grasshopper what wild plants were safe to eat or use for medicines. He showed him how to set traps and hunt small game. Then, during one winter Gathering four people froze to dead because they were too stoned to come in out of the cold. The Grasshopper became very sad and hopped away.
The Ant is recruited by a Aerospace firm even before he graduated college and goes to work on the Apollo Program. He and his new wife Polly loved the Florida sunshine and settle down to start the American Dream. They decide to have two and half children. Even though the third kid looked a bit odd the Ant loved him as only a father can. With easy money down and mortgage tax deductions compliments of Uncle Sam, they get a house with a two car garage. Next they get two cars and the Rat Race is on. The Ant loves it! Working on the Apollo Program is more than a job, it is being part of history. Polly loves it! Raising their kids and Keeping up of with the Jones. She starts selling Avon products on the side. The Ant buys the best bass boat in the neighborhood, but only uses it once a year because he too busy working. He sets up his retirement funds and a small stock portfolio. Life is Good!
After leaving the Rainbow Tribe the Grasshopper panhandles his way across the country. He sets up in parks and subways where he pretends to play his fiddle while selling jewelry made of deer anthers and beads. The noise he makes with his fiddle sounds like a cat being killed and people give him money just to make him stop. Before the Cops run him off, the Grasshopper usually made enough in one day of begging to cover his needs for the week. When he is hungry he goes to a Soup Kitchen and when he needs clothing there are the Sharing Centers. Every now and then he lets some good hearted woman try to save him. Life is Good and he hops away.
The Apollo Program ends and the new Shuttle program does not start for a couple of years. The Aerospace company were the Ant works at does not win any of the new bids. They offer him a job in California at 20% less of his salary. Polly and the kids are in a rage. Nobody wants to move and leave their friends. The Ant sells his house at a loss because the real estate market in flooded by the laid offs. The one car and the boat are reprocessed. He sells off his stock portfolio for the down payment on the new house in California and even though money is tight the Ant decides to take the family on a short vacation to Key West to uplift their spirits. He finds the Grasshopper selling deer antler jewelry at the Front Street Market. While Polly and the kids go shopping, he and Grasshopper catch up and have a couple of beers. The Ant tells his friend about the laid offs and the move. The Grasshopper asks him - Are you Happy - ? The Ant says - Yes -. His friend says, - Good - . They watch the sunset and see a green flash on the horizon.
To be continue.

Help Me Get To 11.11.11 Gathering In Sedona, AZ
Posted by bthekryptonite44 on 2011-07-27 17:58:07
Info on the gathering: http://www.the111111gathering.com/
I am trying to raise money so I can attend the gathering in Sedona, AZ. Info on the gathering itself is available at the above link.
I have estimated the cost to be between $600-$700; I believe I have access to enough work to raise around $300, and plan to try and work to exceed that amount earned, but within this time frame and job market, I am still going to be needing help with that last $300 or so.
This is my attempt to let the universe bring funds to aid the cause (should my going there be in harmony with the universe) and practice the power of positive thinking and "willing" things to myself.
Please help any way you see fit...
Remember: A jar fills drip by drip; every dollar is a help!

Please help my Mom...
Posted by Contreras1805 on 2011-06-29 12:58:37
I live with my Mom as well as my husband, my daughter (6), my brother, my sister-in-law, my niece (4), my nephew (7 mos.), and my brother-in-law. Our gas and electric has been disconnected. It is and has been over 90 degrees in our house. We have no place to go so unfortunately we have to stay in the house. My mother does work and my brother and sister-in-law both receive social security benefits and/or cash assistance, but as for the rest of us, we are unable to work unless its just day jobs here and there. We need help gathering money to get our gas and electric turned back on. Please help us. The bill is extremely high, but we are not asking for any specific amount, just anything you can donate will be helpful in getting to our goal amount to turn it back on.
Needing help
Posted by Susan1963 on 2011-04-11 13:58:35
Me and my fiance are at wits end on how we are going to make it. We want so desperately to get back to where he was born and raised in Ellenville N.Y. and we are stuck here in Kentucky. We moved from about 100 miles away so I could care for my father and he passed away be 2 years in Sept. We have lost our water AGAIN they cut it off last week and my fiance can't find any work here ,, he does construction and its not happening here. We have no car and he walks everywhere to look for any type of work just to get by and he has been ripped off by this whole town as he never charges what the big wigs do to fix a home.. We go out of our way to help others even when we have nothing and Im so scared we are going to loose our apartment(which is an old funeral home and we are the only ones here)We have been scrapping metal and junk the last week just to feed ourselves and get by. I just want to get to where he use to live so we can get back on our feet and make it on our own. I hate asking anyone for help but I am at the point of giving up on everything as its just not working out. We try so hard to get ahead and we get slapped back 20 feet and cant get back up. right now we are going to loose our Electric come Monday morning if we cant come up with the other 147.67.. I worked with a neighbor other day helping her plant her flower beds and cleaned her home and my fiance went and done an odd job plus walked gathering aluminum cans to turn in and we was able to give them 120.00 of it but they only gave us till Monday for the rest of it. Not to mention not having food but got up this morning and someone left a box of food on our step that will get us by for a few days and am so greatful ..I have been to every place in this town to get help and no one is willing to do anything. I do not know what this world is coming to when no one will extend a hand . and right now if someone came to me and needed something I did have I would give it up as I feel there are others who need it more then I do.. I just keep praying for a Miracle and It never happens no matter how hard we try.I do not understand why there are people in this town that goes out and cons people and charges an outrageous price to do things and they are running around with their heads in a cloud and having everything when we try and try and we just get farther behind. I know It sounds like I'm complaining but I just want to live normal without so may worries and to get out of this town that keeps dragging us farther down in the homeless pit..is there any help to be found. We want to save enough to make the move as he has work waiting for him there and its over a 1000 miles away to get there plus have to have enough to at least get us a cheap effenciency for a week or so till the money starts to happen as I do not care if I have to live in a homeless shelter to get on our feet when we get there.. It's just managing the money to make it there..I will not give up hope and faith as I pray to God everyday to at least bless us to be able to make it through 1 more day. I have family here but well like alot of families they have just turned their backs and won't do anything to help but I was there to help them when they needed a sitter or someone to do things they couldnt or my fiance redone their places for basically nothing in return as that is how we are.. to make a long story short almost 4 yrs ago me and my fiance built a deck on the front of my parents home and it was for my dad to be able to sit outside in his wheel chair to enjoy the weather instead of sitting inside and wasting away and it was a 20 ft by 28 foot under roof with rails and steps and an extra pole rail for my dad to hold onto to walk the deck for exercise and done with all deck wood and its really nice and we got a total of 330 bucks for all that but we didnt complain as it was from our hearts to my dad as I am a daddy's girl and even though he is now a beautiful Angel I am still a daddys girl..we also put siding on their house which was stucco house so it all had to be drilled in with plastic inserts and we done it the way my dad always wanted it to look and I would have done anything for my daddy as he would do anything for me I was his baby girl but again we done it out of the kidness of our hearts and love for hi, .. there is alot more to add from and about other family members that saved them BUNDLES but can't even help with a meal now.. but I will not hold a grudge or judge them as its not my place to and they will be judged in the end and that is when it counts the most..but I keep praying to the Good Lord that one day there will be a way for all we need to happen! Hope is running thin though and to the point of just tossing life in and ending it all..and I know that is the wrong way to think but sometimes your mind and heart gets tired and weary and just wants to give up but I will fight till the end to reach our goals of making it to NY.. I really hate to ask and beg but I do not know anything else I can do except keep doing what I am doing and also ask for some help.. I hope all who is needing help will recieve the help they need and I pray for many many Blessings to come your way.. God Bless...
Bill To Require Mandatory Labeling Of Genetically Modified Foods
Posted by labelgmos on 2011-03-16 19:58:44
I am organizing an initiative for the 2012 ballot that would require mandatory labeling of GMO foods and the factory farmed animals that eat them. I am just beginning and am building the organization, paying for everything right now and want to include others. If anyone wants to be part of the team, please contact us. visit www.labelgmos.org to find out what we're up to.
We are ready to start fundraising to gather the money needed to get this to ballot- educational materials, travel, professional signature gathering. Although this is for CA we are inviting other states that do the initiative process to participate and the whole country to support us...as what we do will effect the whole country.
Be part of taking a stand to have the right to know what we put in our mouths. Visit the url listed above to learn about this issue. The future of our food depends on it!
Thanks.

Although this is for CA we are inviting other states that do the initiative process to participate and the whole country to support us...as what we do will effect the whole country.
Be part of taking a stand to have the right to know what we put in our mouths. Visit the url listed above to learn about this issue. The future of our food depends on it!
Thanks.
Need Seed Money For Fantastic Opportunity In China
Posted by zachlevy on 2011-02-21 11:58:58
Hi, I am a very experienced business professional with a MBA degree, but was devastated by the financial meltdown in 2008. Therefore, I have no available cash or credit.
I have a fantastic business opportunity to exclusively market specialized retail items from the USA in China. The Chinese consumer market is very hot and rapidly growing, plus the demand for American consumer goods is exploding.
To complete my business plan to secure start-up capital, I need about $5,000 to cover living and travel expenses for an imperative fact-gathering trip to China. It should take about three months to be ready to secure the start-up funding.
I am more than willing to pay back this seed money with a very generous return and even offer a first right of refusal to participate in the start-up funding. Time is of the essence to secure this opportunity and I thank you for your time and interest.

ALOHA

Aloha from Hawaii. I have never begged online before, however, you never know what blessing you may receive if you just ASK. I have a school loan that is weighing heavy on me. I need $3000.00 by feb. 25, 2011 so that I can pay my back payments. If not, the collections company will try to seize the WHOLE $30,0000 amount by february 28th. I am scared.. I have nothing to put towards the loan.I have been laid off twice in the past 1 1/2 years and am surviving on unemployment checks, and temporary employment here and there. Everyone has a heartbreaking story to tell as I do... But I will not disclose such personal, emotional, sacred issues I choose to keep close to my heart. I allow abundance and the divine gathering of any person that may choose to help me. Eternally,
Damara ( Aloha! )

Facing Eviction, PLease help!

I am a 27 years old and down on my luck. I moved into an apartment I cannot afford with my former significant other who decided to be with someone else, sticking me with the Rent. I am facing eviction unless I can come up with the money and I am very scared. I have no family except for relatives who live thousands of miles away, I live on my own. My mom had passed away last year to cancer, she was pretty much the only closest blood relative to me. I am not a single parent or anything, just a single victim of unfortunate circumstances. I do have a job, not a great job, but a job, but I cannot get an advance I already asked. My income from this job has already been budgeted to pay for other bills. My credit cards are maxed out, I have already requested a student loan deferment. I talked to the landlords and explained the situation, but they also say they hear these types of stories from tenants all the time, and will have to proceed with finding someone who can pay. I am now relying on the kindness of strangers.
I AM A REAL PERSON AND AM WILLING TO PROVE THIS.
I would be happy to respond to emails and answer any questions.
A little bit about me:
I am, ambitious but humble. I do my best to give my time to others and help them out. My overall dream is to go back to school and become a teacher, so I can be in a rewarding career. That is for when I can secure the loan money.
I am trying to get loans and grants, but I am having a hard time gathering enough money for basic necessities. This is my desperate attempt to make my life easier and then to make my educational goals a reality.
I have just a couple weeks left to make this happen. I am hoping and praying that enough fellow internet users will read this post and find it in their hearts to make a small contribution.
I must stress that this is NOT A SCAM. I am just a regular person desperately trying to make ends meet.Again, I am willing to answer any questions to prove that I am an actual person in need.
Any and all donations are tremendously appreciated. If you would like to donate, I have a PayPal account which I can send my email upon response.
Thank you so much for your time. God bless.
