I'm about to be 51 years old and never thought I'd do something like this, but here goes.

I am disabled from a car wreck with a semi, among other conditions. I was on disability for 15 years, but lost it almost 5 years ago because the guy I roomed with was always gone and was supposed to take me to my doctor and Social Security review appointments. Then he got us thrown out of the apartment because he had hoarded his paychecks, was living off my money, and wasn't paying the rent or bills. He left me with a $1600 light bill ! I didn't find out any of this until we were evicted.

I have been homeless ever since, for nearly 5 years, bounced around from place to place, unable to stay in one place long enough to get thru the Social Security application process - I had to start all over again. In 2010, I spent 8 month living in a closet in Columbus, OH and starved.

I had a Social Security hearing in Lexington, KY last August and was dropped off at a horrible homeless shelter in Lexington, to stay until my hearing, when I was assured by a 'free' lawyer I'd get my disability back. I didn't and now I've been trapped in this gulag for more than 10 months, among druggies, alcholics, and ex-cons dumped off here by the police and the Dept. of Corrections. The building is infested wih bedbugs and there is black mold everywhere, which caused me to have an inner ear infection that finally blew a hole in my eardrum since I couldn't get treated for it. Men sleep on the floors and the bathroom is a chamber of horrors. I've had food poisoning 4 times and a couple months ago, more than 40 men sought treatment for food poisoning. The nurse who reported the cases to the Health Dept suddenly left, while the cook remains at work. A Veteran's Admin rep said he wouldn't give the food served here to his dog.

I'm trapped here because Kentucky discriminates against men in that it will not give us Medicaid cards unless we're already on Social Security. This prevents me from having a family doctor and care for my disabilities, which I need in order to win back my benefits. Under these conditions, I will never be able to get out of this nightmare.

I have a friend in Florida who wants me to come down there. FL will give me a Medicaid card and I could at least have a fighting chance to win my disability back. As I've said; I was on it for 15 years and was repeatedly approved every 2 years during the case reviews. I need to get out of this awful state if this nightmare is ever to end. I've lost almost 11 months of my life being warehoused in a place that's one step above prison, and I've done nothing wrong to deserve this. Yet I'm subject to the same rules and restrictions as the ex-cons who live on the floors above me.

I have no family left to fall back on, so all I can do is ask for help. I need money to get to FL so I can get a doctor and my disabillity back, and have a life again. It will cost around $500 to get my things shipped to Orlando, and another $200 to get me there. Then I'd need somewhere to stay until I can get thru the Social Security process again. After that, I'd be OK.

Thank you for reading all this any any help offered would change my life. I would do everything I could to help other homeless men so as to give back help given me when I most needed it.

I don't really know where to start without it sounding somewhat chat show like. I have no family as such none of whom actually talk with me. My grandparents pretty much raised me. My mother and both brothers left at a young age. Dad was an alcoholic due to his own loss and dealing with his own personal issues..a good man betrayed I guess. Either way I ended up living in hostels from the age of 12.. friends floors etc met a guy fell in''love'' or so I thought he was a drinker also I ended up pregnant alone and had a beautiful child who's now 10. I lost my world yet gained my own new world like we all do. Its been tough. Anyway I've had severe eating disorders from being a child which has been undealt with I need help' I'm in severe debts I'm struggling like crazy and my whole world is collapsing. I have noone. We are getting evicted in june we have food parcels kindly offered to us by the salvation army but we can't have anymore they've stopped all of our benefits which is going to an appeal also at the end of june. I can't get any kind of loan. And I cannot work due to mental health and very bad scholiosis. My son has been my rock throughout all of this I'm not a parasite on the community nor do I wish to be one I just need someone to offer me the opportunity to start laying down some kind of solid foundation to help become the person we all deserve to be. My name is Ann. I live in a small town that is in the flood plain, I lost my husband in 98. In 97 I had 14 inches of water in the house. Had flood insurance that helped get the home back in living condition. In 2003 I was in an accident that caused me to quite my job as a firefighter paramedic. I have only worked part time for three months this year, My credit is bad. I live on a fixed income but have been able to pay off my existing mortgage. But now my home is falling apart. The foundation has shifted and the floors and walls are sinking in. I am in need of help getting the house I have torn down and get another home elevated above the flood plane. I am desperate I do not know what to do. My home is no safe. My family is not able to help so I am asking for any and all help that I can get. I am the eldest daughter of two ill parents. I have 2 siblings who have been the caregivers to my parents for several years now. It all started when my father got ill in 2007 with a need of open heart surgery. After that surgery he was never the same. He was a very successful emergency room physician and made very good money. However, he was off for several months from work due to his recovery period. Much of his savings/investments were depleted as he was the only bread winner in the family. My brother and sister had just gotten an apartment and were to start college when my father got ill. They withdrew from school just as quickly as we moved them into their apartment in order to help my mother take care of dad. My father attempted to return to work, but he was still having chest pain and major depression. In September of 2008 he was in the hospital again and needed heart stents to open up blockages. After that situation he physically could not go back to work. He was weak, depressed, and very withdrawn from life. My mother, bless her heart, tried to find ways to make some cash. She sold many pieces of her jewelry to try and pay bills. Regardless of what she profited, she was unable to fulfill the mounting medical bills, credit card bills, car payments, insurance bills, etc.
It wasn't long before she became gravely ill. In the summer of 2010 my mother had succumbed to kidney failure and had to be on kidney dialysis permanently. She had neglected to take care of herself while trying to take care of my father and their financial woes. Along with the financial woes, there were back taxes that were still owed and of course were impossible to pay, their house was falling apart--still is. By the end of Spring 2011, my mother got so ill and was on a ventilator at least 4 times in a 2 week period due to her lungs filling up with fluid. Finally it was discovered that she had endocarditis (infection in heart)that had ravaged one of her heart valves. This required open heart surgery and replacement of the defected valve. The endocarditis stemmed from an infected temporary dialysis catheter. She was in the hospital for over a month and a half or so. Needless to say she was confused, lost tons of weight, and lost the ability to walk or care for herself. She was placed in a nursing home for rehab, but several more stays in the hospital only made her fall several steps back on her rehab and she never has fully recovered. It was discovered that she also had a tumor on one of her kidneys and her kidney was removed in the Fall of 2011 and supposedly it was all contained and it was early stage renal (kidney) carcinoma (cancer). While my mother was in the hospital my father had trouble breathing and I took him to the hospital. It as discovered he was in kidney failure and they both ended up in the hospital at the same time. Now my father is on permanent kidney dialysis.
Now fast forward to present day April 6, 2012. My mother's dialysis shunt would not stop bleeding and she was taken to the emergency room. She also complained of right leg pain and ultimately she ended up with a CT angiogram. This test revealed she not only had some blockage in one of her arteries in her leg, but that she had metastatic cancer to her liver, lungs, and a site near her spleen. Of course we are devastated.
They have no money. The money they do get is always depleted as soon as they get it from Medicare. My mother's social security check went straight to the nursing home and still was not enough to cover her bill. My father would have to pay over $1,000 a month because Medicare would only pay for several weeks. Since she has been in the hospital now for almost 2 weeks, we have pulled her out of the nursing home because the expected us to pay over $180 A DAY to keep her spot at the nursing home.
Now we are faced with a surgery to fix her leg, a plan for cancer treatment, and no suitable place for my mother to live. Their current home is in shambles and I mean SHAMBLES. Roof leaks and is falling apart. I assume there is some black mold lingering. No central air or heat as their units are broke. Plus large amounts of stuff--my mother also was a hoarder. The house is disgusting and it has been hard to clean up with out major assistance and with constant trips to the hospital who has ample time (?). They live in a small town and it is very hard to simply get a dumpster to throw many items away. The house would have to be completely gutted and redone. The floors are sinking in and it is very dangerous. They don't have the funds to fix any of it and nor do I.
I have missed work several times over the last year and more with FMLA, but never have enough PTO to fully cover my own losses.
My siblings have yet to start their lives. They have been with my parents ever since 2007 to help them with everything. Even when my mother was in a nursing home my siblings and my dad would go see my mom every single day--we just didn't trust the care of the nursing home and rightly so because she developed a bed ulcer on her heel after the wound care nurse said it was getting better--not even close! And yes the blocked artery in her leg and her bed ulcer on her heel are related. The wound care nurse and the Dr. for the nursing home should have caught this medical issue.
So life has been tough, but reading about it doesn't even give it justice. We need financial assistance, a new home or help to fix it--we need a lot of help. I want my brother and sister to finally get on their own feet and do what they want to do. I feel bad for them because I was able to finish college and have a career, a husband, and a home. They have yet to accomplish their goals and it makes me sad and sick to see them so depressed. They are in their late 20s and my parents are both 65 y.o.
If anyone has a kind heart, I promise you I'm not lying. I have proof of all I have written about and I swear on everything--my family, my husband, etc. that this is all real. Thank you for your time and interest. If you can't help at least please pray for us.

Thanks for taking the time to read my request. I'm 30 years old, still in college and living with my parents. I've made a lot of great accomplishments in my life with far less support than most people who make it this far. Of course, with that said I've also made plenty of mistakes.

I grew up with a single parent, and another parent who visited annually just to stir up emotions and make my life miserable. When I was 18, I decided to work really hard to lose weight so that I could join the US Air Force. I had a strict plan that I was going to follow to succeed in life.

Unfortunately my superiors in the USAF would not accommodate that plan to independence as they forced me to find my own way from the barracks to work (a 40 mi drive), so I had to immediately struggle to get my drivers licence and I had to buy a car on an Airman's paygrade.

My income wasn't enough to afford the car and gas and other living needs that I was expected to pay, so eventually I had to leave the Air Force before my term was up (under honorable conditions). I tried to work as a civilian. The transfer was tough and I was vastly uninformed about what to do and what my options were. I'm the first first generation college student of my extended family.

After some petty jobs that would each take more than 10 years to be able to earn enough to live independently, I finally found a nice nighttime custodian job that was at least simple enough for that kind of pay. I was the night time custodian, but I was also a guy to have on call at this retirement home where I worked. If people's toilets flooded or a nearly deaf resident left their tv on past quiet hours (once I could hear one through 3 floors!) I was the guy to send up to fix it.

Having my first satisfying job as a civilian, I was able to investigate community college during the day, so eventually I enrolled and tried taking a few classes while working full-time. College was my saving grace. I never felt like I belonged anywhere until I first started to take college courses in math, science, and philosophy. I found the tutoring lounge on campus, made a lot of friends there, and I spent many hours cramming and helping those in need.

This soon led to me finding financial aid, making arrangements with my parents (my mom and my stepfather) to let me go to school full-time while I lived with them, and putting in my 2 weeks notice at work to focus exclusively on school.

My counselors advised that I pick where I want to transfer to and then figure out the details of how to get there after I got accepted. I think this was bad advice. While I ended up choosing to transfer to a university that had my desired major, Biophysics, it was 60 miles away from where my parents lived. My car that I had bought when I was in the Air Force also eventually broke down from not being able to afford maintenance while I worked, and was towed away for being in the public street for too long.

Finally, I got accepted to UC San Diego to work towards a degree in Physics with a specialty in Biophysics. When it came time to transfer, I got as involved as I could on how and when I was supposed to receive the financial aid so that I could go get an apartment and everything, and my school kept telling me, "you should get it tomorrow" until about 2 weeks into my first quarter when I finally got the support.

Despite this rocky start, I managed to get into a good shape for myself, making my way slowly but surely through school. Learning a great deal. Eventually when I felt the struggle was too difficult, I changed my major to Neuroscience before I began my upper division coursework.

So, as I settled into my schooling and struggled with maintaining financial independence on financial aid, I managed to get myself into maintaining a great aquarium hobby, owned two great little kittens from a street cat program, led as president of a student organization for one year, and eventually I got married. I also carefully learned about the stock market and managed to make some great gains with money that I had invested from financial aid savings.

In 2010, my gains were over 100%. That amounted to $2000 doubling itself, but still, that says a lot about me as a trader. However, 6 months into my marriage, she said she wanted out, grabbed the car that we both paid into (most of the money was mine from stocks; $5500 worth), and refused to pay her share of 2 months rent. That happened in December of the year of 2010.

2011 was a difficult year for me. I fought hard to maintain things, especially my head, but it was tough. I lost 45 lbs from exercising regularly, made lots of new friends, and I got some volunteer work experience in a Neuroscience lab. But I just couldn't focus well enough to maintain my finances and my grades, so I had to drop out and live back with my parents.

Despite how tough it's been, not finding work, struggling with the ins and outs of the VA, and just needing a professional therapist to talk to and help me keep my head straight but never being able to get one, I've managed to recuperate well enough and learn a lot more about this bottom floor of society that I've been so desperately trying to escape my whole life.

I've gone looking for opportunity in every direction. I've tried changing my career goals, collecting recyclables, writing online, trying any online scheme that didn't include me forking out money to get it, imagining what I could write as a novel, tried to make money through playing video games, making goal after goal after goal for myself, but still just not being able to get just the right amount of money to put me back on my feet.

I'll be going back to school in April at the risk of having to do it as a homeless person if the VA doesn't pull through for me. They recently approved my 10% service connected disability status and now I need to jump over a few more hurdles to get my more significant service connected disabilities recognized. I'm also seeing what the vocational rehab people can do for me despite the bureaucratic issues that are stopping them from helping me all the way.

BTW, this whole time that I've gone through life with common lower class difficulties, I've been disabled with a number of small conditions that all add up to a hard time. I have lower back issues that the military has yet to own up to. Community college found also that I have a learning disability which makes some intellectual tasks show up as lower than average ability for me while the rest of my intellect is high enough to expect that I could easily get a Masters Degree or a PhD. My biggest difficulty in school is that they don't give me enough time to show them what I know or what I'm capable of.

From working with special needs students as a tutor, I have proven to myself that there is a major problem in the education system. Most teachers never simplify the material into a clear picture of what they want to teach. If you want someone to learn something, the last thing you should be fuzzy on is what it is exactly that you want them to learn. We can't all work like intuitive Jedi or sophisticated parrots.

If you help me out, here is a list of the priorities of what your money will go towards, in order of their priority If you would like to request that I spend your donation on a specific cause, please let me know:

1. A working cheap economic vehicle.
I need something that I can sleep in and that will take me wherever I need to go. Preferably something that can stow quite a few recyclables as well to pay for gas, but not an SUV or truck or van (Unless that's all that is cheap of course. Not likely but you never know.).
I'll aim for great gas mileage, but I'm thinking that I should attend some police car auctions to see what the cheapest deal I can find is. This car would make a great shelter for me while I return to my far away school.

2. Investing on the stock market.
Trust me, I know how to fish. If you want to send me a request for proof I'd be glad to compose some evidence of my finest moments as well as my worst to show you that I can do well for myself on the stock market, even during the recession. What I could really use right now, is a little bait. Trading is good money for me, but to make enough to make gains worth more than the commission cost (about $10), you need about $300-1000 per investment. $300 is more for the high risk lottery plays on the market. If you are willing, we can arrange something personal so that you wont need to worry about me putting the money you offer at high risk and blow it all. Might even be able to arrange something where I could make money for you to prove myself before accepting your donation. Whatever the case, I know we'd have to make it a personal arrangement to satisfy the current laws.

3. Working towards paying my debts to my friends.
My friends have been really supportive through these hard times, though they are starving students themselves. To keep up my morale they've bought me food, given me a place to crash when they could, and even paid to have me join them at fun local events. I have some money that I've promised them back, and I plan on making due on those promises as soon as possible.

4. Paying off my debts with companies.
I've had times where I couldn't afford to pay for rent and had to leave, like when my wife left me to live with her parents. These issues follow me on my credit score and I would like to work towards removing them so that I can turn my life around.

5. Getting a good start towards paying off my student loans.
I know I won't be able to pay them off before I find a good career with my degree. I would just like to have something to start making some automatic payments with and put that part of my bad credit score behind me as well.

6. Buying a home.
My mom never owned a home. No offense meant to land lords out there, but I really think the rental system is way out of line. My mom was always a hard worker. Way better than me, yet she could never own a home because she didn't have the money. Meanwhile, people with money could live in great big houses for less than she even had to pay.
I want a house to own. Probably start with a condo and seek ways to improve it and flip a profit out of it. Then I want to keep building up money from housing until I can manage to build an apartment building.
If I could, I'd like to make an apartment building near a university that offers cheap housing using the Japanese capsule model or something even more economic and more comfortable.

7. Making an online tutoring site meant to offer free tutoring and tutoring for tips. Imagine a site (I have yet to know of one) where people can collect their resources on a class, much like they collect info on ratemyprofessor.com, but also seek help from others who are taking the class or who have taken the class. Donors like you can offer money to tutors who post their notes and stories on the site, alongside ratings from other students that they helped.
Some tutors can offer their rates for help, sell their notes online for cheap, or just offer their help whenever they can and ask to be tipped through paypal if someone likes their work. My hope is that such a site could help to put an end to sophistry in the college system once and for all, making education easy and affordable for everyone.

8. After I have everything I'm hoping for above, the sky is the limit. But I would prefer to put the extra money that I don't need to good uses. I would spread a little philanthropy around, give to others in need on this site and through other resources.
I'd also look to teach others how to fish. I think a great way for the economy to be fixed would be if philanthropists made some really good employee owned companies. Make the place pay for itself, skim a little off the top, and walk away knowing that you really were a job creator.
I think that everyone who is capable of work and who chooses to work deserves to have their own independent living situation. I know that we are a long way from that, but I tend to be an optimist. I would like to try and make the world a better place, if nothing else.

Aside form financial help, I'm interested in anything else that I could get that's useful. I had to get help to pay for a GED just recently, wish me luck on the test. I rent a single wide trailer that had mold problems and made my family sick. We are better now. The landlord ripped the shower and floors out and replaced everything. I am afraid of the mold coming back and making us sick again. I’m 26 and have no bank account. I tried to start one but couldn’t keep any money in it, because of how little I made in construction. My car doesn’t go into reverse and slips in first gear sometimes. I have no job because I was laid off three months ago when the job ended. I’ve been looking for jobs and filling out applications around my small city, but no one will call me back.

Let me tell you more about myself. I was two years old when my father was shot and killed in the big city. I grew up on welfare with my mother and grandmother. When I was seven we lost grandma’s house and began to move around a lot. When I was twelve, my grandmother died from being in a moldy house that we were renting. My mother moved to the country with her boyfriend and I followed shortly after. In school I was smart, but moving around everywhere was costly. I lost credit for a lot of hard work simply because the schools were on two different schedules. After living with my mom’s drunken boyfriend and having him beat on her, I dropped out of school to get a job in construction. I was able to make enough for us to rent our own place.

I married my high school sweetheart about a year ago. I had hoped that we would make a wonderful life together, but it’s proven to be very difficult. She did graduate and attend college; however, she did not finish her Bachelors degree. She has a little more than half a semester left, but we ran into some tax problems and she has not been able to go back and finish. Now she owes 6,000 in college dept and I owe thousands in back taxes. She has eyesight problems (coloboma) and can’t drive herself. She works with her mom cleaning houses and babysitting. I dream about being rich and successful, and making all our financial problems go away. I don’t see how that’s going to happen with all of our problems. I want to go to college and get a degree, but I need help getting on my feet. Please help me and my family realize our dreams of financial freedom.

America is one of the most charitable nations on earth, with lots of people that have been financially blessed. I read that there are 7.5 million millionaires in America, and I hope someone reading this is one of them. Please change my life forever with a big donation. I dream of being successful and using my money to help others who need it. I want to make a difference for good in this troubled world, but it’s hard to do when you can’t even help yourself.

After living with my mom’s drunken boyfriend and having her cry to me when he hit her, I dropped out of school to get a job in construction. I was able to make enough for us to scrape by and barely pay bills.
I married my high school sweetheart about a year ago. I had hoped that we would make a wonderful life together, but it’s proven to be very difficult. She did graduate and attend college; however, she did not finish her Bachelors degree. She has a little more than half a semester left, but we ran into some tax problems and she has not been able to go back and finish. Now she owes 6,000 in college dept and I owe thousands in back taxes. She has eyesight problems (coloboma) and can’t drive herself. She works with her mom cleaning houses and babysitting. I dream about being rich and successful, and making all our financial problems go away. I don’t see how that’s going to happen with all of our problems. I want to go to college and get a degree, but I need help getting on my feet. Please help me and my family realize our dreams of financial freedom.

If you have a collage degree, house, bank account, good car, and a job: you have more than me. I have none of these things. I have no diploma. I had to get help to pay for a GED just recently, wish me luck on the test. I rent a single wide trailer that had mold problems and made my family sick. We are better now. The landlord ripped the shower and floors out and replaced everything. I fear the mold coming back and making us sick again. Someone installed a shower on the bar level, in the process, they cut a main beam rather than get a longer piece of pipe. I'm not able to find out when the unit was installed, but it was long enough ago that now the bar level bathrooms(yes, both mens and ladies rooms are still in there), and the apartment floors are all sloped. If memory serves me, lolly columns should stop/possibly reverse this.
The well is working when it wants to, the water runs, then shuts itself off, anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes later, it comes back on. The furnace had a burned out blower part which I'm paying the bill off, leaving less than $75 cash after covering the expenses of this building each month. And the plumber said it would be close to $200 just to start fixing the well issue. Not even knowing if it is the pump or not.
The weather here is too much for my body without access to hot water therapy. I don't know how long it will be before I can no longer handle the pain in these temps. I am rather desperate for any help at all. I'm 46, single, and have no one to help me without paying hefty fee's. This building is in dire need of repairs. If anyone could please find it in their heart to help two women that have no one to lend a hand...PLEASE HELP?

I have worked for the most part since the age of fifteen. My first job I mopped floors in a small bake shop. One week I would mop the front, and the next week I would mop both the from and the back. I would make $1.00 the first week and $1.50 the next week. Back then that would go quite a ways. I have worked in food service but am looking and willing to learn new areas. I have bakery experience and stocking and receiving experience. I however am unable to drive a forklift. I am unable to drive as a result of almost dieing when I was six months old. Am looking for work in The Muskegon Michigan area, or something that I can do at home without any cold calling or having to have someone call you. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Entry level positions where no or little experience is required would be a big help..

It is too much to bear. I sold my home under contract to a black woman who turned out to be lying crack head. She refuses to pay me the 6,700 she owes me. I am so poor I cannot afford to file in court the 147.00 needed to go to small claims. Also the mobile home I purchased has 2 rooms gutted and unfinished. I need the bedrooms to have floors and walls. I have a 21 year old son with autism and get no help at all from county or social work, etc. I'm also trying to make my home suitable and finished so my granddaughter can come live with me. Her parents are neglecting her and I need a suitable room for her to live in. The home I sold was fixed by me and husband. We invested money so we could get a few thousand but we got nothing! We moved into the mobile home we reside in now but since the "buyers" have not paid, we are unable to finance any fixing the house desperately needs. In an attempt to start anew,my wife and I and our four children recently moved from Pennsyslvania back to our hometown of Louisville, KY, where the cost of living is much more affordable.
To forestall the spectre of foreclosure, we did a short sale on our PA house, and are now renting in Louisville.
Since arriving here in July, I have been unemployed (with the exception of an 11-day temporary job). We have fallen behind in our rent and bills to the amount of $3,000 to $5,000, and we need something within that amount to regain our footing. I start a new FT job today, Oct. 4, that offers +40 hours a week with opportunities for OT and, I hope, advancement. My wife and kids are also passionately seeking employment (one of my sons recently started a new job).
All was going well until 2005 when I lost the career/professional position I had that included a decent salary and healthcare for my entire family. In the past six years I have been underemployed with damaging stints of underemployment. Two times I've been laid off. I've washed dishes in a restaurant, mopped floors in a nursing home and worked for a mammoth retailer, all in an effort to provide for my family and seek open windows of opportunity. In one job I even worked five consecutive 15-hour shifts. I have more than 120 resumes pending for various government and private sector jobs.

I am currently unemployed since 03/28/2011 and have been only able to get by with money I had saved for my emergency fund. Thankfully I had this saved up but I'm now out of money and do not have any immediate resources that can provide assistance.

The Texas Work Force Commission says I'm ineligible for unemployment insurance because my employer, a small company with a CEO that would yell at employees all the time told them I quit my job. This is not the case, I was told to leave for no reason during a meeting without warning. I'm in the process of appealing my case for a hearing, but the process will take weeks before they can determine a hearing date and determine if I'm eligible.

I am very detail oriented and have applied to 306 different positions since I was let go. I've been on 8 interviews and have another lined up for tomorrow. I have been applying to jobs that are relevant to my job skills and qualifications, which is search engine optimization (SEO), customer service, and inside sales. Most of the positions I've had the chance to interview with have stiff competition and some are still in the searching process. I needed a job 2 months ago. Recently, I was able to get hired for a retail position that pays $7.25 an hour. At this point I will sweep the floors for someone to hire me. This position starts June 6th.

Anyhow, in the midst of all this, I have an 11 year old daughter, and a 3 year old son. I've been married for 11 years and my wife does what she can as a baker for birthdays, weddings and holidays. She brings in about $300 a month which she contributes to groceries and kids clothes.

I'm dedicated and hard working and want to be able to pay my bills and support my family.

Here is a breakdown of my expenses:
Rent: $1195 per month
Car Payments: $720 per month
Car/Rental Insurance: $320 per month
Cable/Internet: $165 per month
Sallie Mae Student Loan: $60.00 per month (past Due 17 days)
Water/Trash Utilities:$60 per month
Groceries: $600 month
Gas: $200 per month

Total Expenses: $3320 per month

Currently, I have $900 to my name. Today in 05/30/2011 and I have to pay rent by June 3rd.

I am a single mom of 3 children 9, 11 and 14. I lost my job about 4 months ago and I was making really good money. We had it all and I was proud that as a single mom I was able to provide for my babies all on my own. Now I am down to cents in the bank and I have 30 days to find a place for me and children because we lost our home. I need money so that we won't end up in a homeless shelter or house hopping and sleeping on floors. This is so embarassing and I can't believe that this is what I am resorting to. My name is Kelli. I am 34 years old, and I live in the great state of West Virginia. My childhood wasn’t all that great, and I never received life lessons. By the time I was 17, my credit was shot, and I was living with an undiagnosed mental illness. I have since gotten help and learned my own life lessons. I have 2 wonderful daughters, one of whom is autistic. I want them to have those happy memories that I never had. I am on a fixed income, and I abide by a very strict budget. My children will never know my worries because I wouldn’t want them to carry that burden with them. I learned how to fix my credit, and I bought us a home with the help of some government financing. My mortgage is the first bill I pay every month, and that never leaves much. With a fixed income, I will never be able to give my girls financial help, but I hope to teach them life lessons, so that they know the value of health, happiness, and a dollar. There are four things that I need help with, and I hope one day to somehow achieve all four. The first is to pay off our furnace. We still owe $1452 on our furnace, and as they did set me up on a payment plan, this payment causes me to fall behind on other bills and groceries. The second thing I want is a fence. My youngest daughter does not understand boundaries, nor does she recognize danger. She is cooped up inside most of the time because of this. I would love for her to be able to play freely and safely. Every child deserves this. The third thing that we want is carpet. Our floors, when we bought the home, are all hardwood, and not in great shape. They have become a danger, as my children sometimes fall down. The last and final thing that would improve our lives immensely is a car. Before we purchased our home, we lived closer to family and friends, but now we have a difficult time getting around. We live in a rural area without public transportation or taxi service. With these four things, our lives would be pretty close to perfect. Sounds simple enough, but seems like a far away dream. We appreciate anything that can be done. And I guess our most pressing need would be the payoff on the furnace. The other three things aren’t really detrimental, but would greatly improve our outlook on life. Thanks!
