We are currently finishing construction on a 2.7 million dollar building that will be used as a community center here in Houston to assist with underpriveliged children, to assist in outreach to other homeless individuals,to function as a auxillary primary school, and to assist as we are able with other community needs. Through generous donations from our neighbors, we have built the entire external structure (approx 1.44 million) leaving only a little more than 1 million dollars left to complete the construction. This is a near and dear thing to my heart, as it's location in Northside houston in a impoverished community would mean so much to helping others in and around the houston area. This community building is sponsored by a local church, which has donated the first several hundred thousand dollars, and we are looking to complete it by November of this year, IF possible. All donors (if they ask) will be given a tax receipt for thier donation, as the organization is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit corporation. I have a family of five in need of financial assistance to make ends meet this month. Our rent is due plus late fees which equals $1500. I recently decided to make a better future for my self and my family and decided to go to nursing school which by the way at the time sounded like a wonderful idea. I now have only 12 months left and we are sinking fast. My husband works his butt off to provide for myself and our three kids but recently work had dropped so we are now about to be evicted. I now have to choose between finishing school or quitting to get a job and help out. I am not a begger by choice and would gladly pay someone back over a monthly payment. Hi I am a single mother staying a hotel room with my two children, I am employed but am having a hard time paying for one week of a hotel stay. I am curently looking for a place for us to move to but right now we are in the room. I am also currently in college finishing my associates and will in the fall hopefull will work on my Bachelors,so I am trying to better myself just fell on some harf times. I'd never considered anything like this before, but today we've finally been pushed over the limit. I am a married man in my early twenties with two kids, a boy age 6, a girl age 2. Things have been going great until this month, I recently lost my job, I was a caregiver and the family no longer needs me, my wife goes to school and is so close to finishing, but until then we're hurting. As of today, our car got hit and the front bumper and headlights broke off and were crushed, my wife was the one in the accident, she was in a panic and didn't know what to do, swapped information and did nothing else, after that they said it was her fault, so it's going to cost us 988$ to get repaired. I've been trying to find new work, but like everywhere else it's scarce. We're already giving up most elective activities, we lost cable last week. x.x

Background:

I was born in Argentina, but have lived in Texas since I was 5. I had no say in it; my parents decided that’s what was best for me since Buenos Aires was so crime-ridden. I graduated high school like normal kids, went to a community college right afterwards, and worked part time to cover its costs. I got an Associate’s in Science (Nursing) and then dropped out since I couldn't afford to attend a university nor decide on a major. My GPA was a 3.4 at the time.

I'm now 25, working full time (Geek Squad, can’t do much with an associate’s), studying electrical engineering, married to my high school sweetheart, and have my goals set! I just have one thing holding me back...MONEY. Since I backtracked when I changed majors, I had a few sophomore classes to take. I'm finishing them at the same community college, and I'm registered for the Fall semester at the University of Texas at Dallas (Junior level courses). I have gotten nothing but As since I've been back!



Why I Need Your Help:

Now, you may be wondering, why can't I use FAFSA? Well, I recently obtained my permanent residence. That was a big roadblock growing up. One of the agreements I had with our nation was that I would not use federal funds (welfare, food stamps, grants, FAFSA, etc) for the next 10 years. I work full time and attend as many classes as I can per semester; I have no time for lollygagging.

Sallie Mae can only loan me so much, and banks nowadays make it very difficult to borrow from for school. All the scholarships I’ve looked for require either citizenship or full time enrollment, neither of which I am. (Can’t enroll full time because I need to work full-time to make ends meet) My father is a construction worker and I don’t know my mom, she left us when I was 7. I just sold my laptop on eBay and made myself a cheap one from recycled parts. I've tried getting internships, but I'm not deep enough into my career to be eligible yet. Nearby family members don’t have any spare cash, and don’t make enough to co-sign a loan for me….So I’m here, hoping some kind strangers can help me out.

I am a hard working student, good Samaritan, bilingual, a jokester, drug-free, do calculus in my head, pay taxes, 740 credit score, and drive a broken down Pontiac. My only goal right now is to finish school with flying colors as soon as possible; just need this financial roadblock to meet a wrecking ball.

for the last 2-3 years I'm trying to convince the administrator of the building I'm living on to repair the roof because I'm living at the last floor and water started to wet my ceiling. For all this time they did not do anything and the water started pouring from my ceiling to my walls and floor. They came into my appartment 3 or 4 times to notice the damages the water did to my home and they left the same way they came. Finally, few months ago the started working on the roof and now, the part above my appartment is fixed, by the ceiling, the walls and some of the furniture needs fixing and I'm not able to do this by myself because everything is very expensive and my salary cannot cover the construction matterials, the food needed to survive on a daily basis and the bills for electricity, phone, cable and bank credits. I covered by myself some of the construction work, by buying matterials and working in my free time to fix the damage, but I'm about $2500 short of finishing the renovation job. Any help to reach the needed sum will be very and kindly appreciated. Best regards to everyone and thank you for your help.

We have lived on the Shanandoah mountain for about two years. We found a house cheaper than our three bedroom condo we did have in manassas. Which was a little over a thousand a month. Our three bedroom house now on the mountain is exactly a thousand a mth. Our ultilities aren't rediculous. In febuary my husband lost his job. He made good money. I was just finishing up suceeding CDL endorsment classes. Etc. To become a school bus driver. Which has been the only job for me that's come my way in a year. We absolutely love the schools here. Which my three children are in each this year. Thankfully my husband has qualified for unemployment. The state is helping us with food and medical insurance. We allready surrendered our economical car. Then our only vehicle motor blew up two weeks ago. My husband is great at fixing vehicles. We just don't have the money to do so. He wants to go to an auction because he's not for sure about putting a lot of money into our vehicle. Allthough at the same time. We are behind on our rent. Thankfully we are truely blessed with a patient and very understanding landlord. My husband has been fixing up things that have been going wrong with the house since he's been out of work. He and I both have a good chance at jobs. We just don't have a way to them now. Its mind boggling for the both of us. We only have our cell phones for internet. Fortunately our close friend is letting us use his truck that my husband fixed for him recently to use to get our kids to and from busstop morning and afternoon. This truck though isn't legal. I've always been the type of person to work hard to pay for things myself, but I just can't manage on my own anymore, and hate that I have to ask for help. I am pursuing my Master's degree and with the economy being so bad, the financial aid that I get from the government has diminished. I have been getting about half the financial aid for tuition that I need. I am desperately trying to finish my Master's but if I can't pay my next tuition bill, I will have to drop out. I'm a good person and work hard and have been on the Dean's list every term, I just need help finishing my last year of school. Please help! :(

Hello, my name is Adam and I am a student veteran. I am studying business management and need help finishing up my degree. I am 2 semesters short of finishing and have run out of government funding. I have a wife and two children to support while i go to school. I also work part time helping veterans find jobs. I counsel returning vets from overseas and help them in any way i can. My name is Fatbardha I am 28 years old currently studying a law degree. I suffer from anxiety and depression. This initially occurred when I was a child as there has been an attempt of rape when I was ten years old. Since then I have had a very ruff time and struggled to cope with day to day basis. I have also had a difficult time with relationships and had difficulties in being with someone for a longer period. I have been taking depression tablets since childhood, obviously there have been times when I have lived without them. I am currently experiencing a very difficult time as my depression and health condition has deteriorated due to the fact that I am not able to pay my tuition fee in university. I have been previously taking 20mg depression tablet, then it was increased to 50 and now I am taking depression tablet of 150mg. I have been looking for a job for a year and half and filled so many application forms but was never called for interview. I am now very disappointed, lost all my confidence and have been very down, exhausted, have so much pain on my body and I am unable to do anything. This is due to depression. Could you please donate to my however much money you would be willing to donate and assist me to pass my current crises. Your support would mean so much to me and would change my life. I really want to finish my degree and feel as anyone else. I feel very neglected and with no confidence. I want to be as all my sisters and brothers, I dont want to be an odd one. I have had the dream of finishing my education for a while , but my fiances has always put that dream on hold. I am doing odd jobs,selling on e B a y , work from home jobs, online surveys just to make ends meet so paying for application fees for college is sort of out of my budget. My husband & I made the decision when our first child was born that I did not make enough money to pay for childcare. I began working full time as a nurses assistant, working shifts in the evenings and weekends so we would not have to pay for childcare. I since have had 2 more children, my youngest not of school age yet. Over the years I have suffered from multiple health problems, required many surgeries. We made it through those times and am very fortunate to be healthy now. However, that is when our debt started to accumulate. Over these years I have continued to work in health care while finishing my bachelors degree (graduated this May!) It was not easy but I felt it would help me to find a better paying job when I was ready to start my career. I couldn't have been more wrong. I lost my job in October as my client passed away. I have been unable to find a job. Hundreds of resumes sent and nothing has come from it. Student loans will need to be paid and unfortunately we are drowning in our day to day expenses. We even had to remove our children from their extracurricular activities as we could no longer afford them. I have been given no lucky breaks in life and have worked for everything I have-which isn't much. I hate asking for help- but desperate times call for desperate measures. This attempt may be a shot in the dark but any amount that you are able to donate would help more than I could ever explain. I will pay it forward when we are on our feet. Thank you for reading.

Hello everyone Im a 53 year old single mom in PA with two children, very amazing children. My daughter is 21 and works hard serving coffee and donuts, My son who is 19 years old does the same type of work, and also goes to college. I am disabled and at home, I have diabetes, no cartilage in my right knee, almost lost my life twice with two pulmonary embolisms. I am currently on warffrin for life along with other meds that are keeping me alive. I am stressing out because, being a mother, I am worried about my two kids, they work so hard, I cannot help them now, and I am feeling stressed about it, we all live together in public housing, and we are barely covering our bills. We are just getting by, and my wish is to help my children, I am not asking for a handout, I am just asking for a stay at home job I can do on the computer so they can spend more money on the things they need than having to chip in for the rent. My kids are really good kids doing the right thing, it is unfortunate that they have to live in these circumstances. their father, he lives in another state,and, well he feels his obligation is over, and is not helping them at all anymore. I am basically alone in finishing raising my children. I have typing skills, and good phone skills, I just cannot stand on my legs too long. Unfortunately I can't drive or own a car. My son has a car but it is not in the best of condition,he needs a new car so he can go to work and to school, and my daughter is getting married, she deserves a nice wedding, I want to help them both, and feel really stressed about it. My goal is to find a work at home job, so I can help them with their goals. These kids are my life. I want to see them happy because, that would make me happy. I could use someone's help out there. I was once up to my neck in credit card debt. I have made a lot of progress, but a week ago I was laid off. My employers laid me off around the holidays time. I have a lot of bills and I honestly do not know how I will make ends meet. I am not a bum and I am finishing up college. I am currently looking my hardest for a job. I am even engaged. I have a beautiful and supporting fiancee who is struggling with me. Any help would mean a lot. It looks like we are in store for another cold holiday season. I have just arrived in Europe and I come from Madagascar. I live in a poor country where the salary rate is so low and it is hard to save money for college.
But I succeeded in getting my Masters degree and now I have got that offer for a PhD position at a very prestigious University in Europe. It is a very high achievement for a Madagascan to get that offer. My family and I could gather the money that will help me to pay the first installment and the basics (accommodations and living costs for the first four months). I am now looking for jobs but I have to wait until I get a work permit (which takes a long long time). If I do not get the appropriate money on time, I won’t be given the opportunity to pursue my studies and will go back to my country without acquiring anything.
Therefore, I am begging for your charity. The least from you is highly significant for me. Please help me to achieve my goal, that of finishing my studies and be able to do more for my beloved country.

I am a sophmore in college and am working over 80hrs a week. Over the past year I have had multiple health conditions that has caused me to have a gallbladder removal surgery as well as a kidney stone removal. I have acquired debt because of this and am having a hard time paying on both school and medical bills. If anyone could help me by donating any amount possible I would appreciate it. It's a life changing experience when you have to put your school plans on hold. I had to do that to care for my my mother who was terminally-ill at the time. I had been left with a lot of debt that my job as a nursing assistant couldnt handle. I want to go back to school to finish up my studies as a massage therapist.I am struggling to pay my bills every month because it's one setback after another. I know that people who come asking here and for help ask for the most ridiculous of things and nothing that is actually logical. Paying bills and wanting to finish school is legitimate and that's something I would rather show people for them to see I am a responsible person. I owe the school I am taking my massage studies at money to cover a previous semester and I have to pay that in order to be able to finish. I was offered money by my grandmother to finish school, but I won't accept money from someone who's an abusive person and uses this to control people. I would rather ask here because there's kind people in the world who know when someone is truly trying to get their life back on track. I think about my dream of finishing school and being able to get back on my feet again. If I had a little something I would give it to someone who truly needed it.
