New Roof....No Money!
Posted by FinancialWoes on 2012-01-21 13:58:38
Today we found out that it is going to cost us $8500 to get a new roof. Unfortunately, we have not been so fortunate in the financial department over the past year and a half.
Last year and just under a year before that, our dog decided it would be fun to break her leg. First the left, then the right. Due to the fact that her legs are too small for casts we had to opt for surgery both times. Well come to find out her right leg decided not to heal right and she had to have 2 additional surgeries. I'm not sure if anyone has ever had a dog in the ER...IT'S EXPENSIVE.
Well, after that, our fence decided to fall over...so we had to get a new fence. Due to the condition of the fence all the way around, we had to replace the whole thing. The neighbors didn't want to help, so we did what we had to.
Now.....we have to replace the roof!
I don't know what to do besides come on here and ask for help. We are both low income individuals, and I have just finished school and now have a HUGE student loan.
I am hoping someone has it in their heart to donate anything to help us out. I promise to always pay if forward.....to the next person.
We are just regular people, trying to make it through life. Thinking we would do right by purchasing our first home.....had only caused us financial woes.
Thanks for reading...

unemployed senior citizen volunteer needs help with car repairs
Posted by calforniaorbust on 2012-01-01 13:58:09
I have always help my family friends and strangers in need of a place to stay, food, ride, money clothes ect. Well due to a move, divorce from an abuser and surgery, I thought things were looking up when I got my career moving for a non profit senior resident center, then after a year offered a great position in management for a nursing home but this is a rural community and I did my job well. Due to the economic environment I was let go and my old job already replaced me. Im on unemployment. If I can move to a bigger city, like near los angeles (I have a free place to stay) then I will never be without a job. Currently I volunteer my time with hospice and driving seniors to their doctor appts and errands. My car is old but paid for I need auto repairs in the amount of 2,000; dental work 800; Relocation expenses to move to California 6000; and a job masters degree in healthcare in san fernado valley California I have a paypal account or you can send the money directly to the vendors in kind to me. My dad is a retired veteran from Vietnam era, he works for above minimum wage and I live with him currently. He gets his retirement too but he needs a new fence for his house, I helped with all thee renovations but being unemployed I can offer the labor but the materials are about $2500.00 or $4500 installed he would never ask for a handout but he also needs extensive dental work and replace his implants front teeth from 40 years ago from accident his smile means everything to me. With that said once im able to get back on my feet and return to work, I will be able to help others too! Thankyou for any assistance you can provide in these matters .
Student Loans
Posted by StrugglingStudent on 2011-10-28 16:58:43
Please help a struggling student trying to take control of student loans and be in control of life once again. We all want the American dream of owning a home with a white picket fence in the suburbs, while raising a family comfortably. We are told throughout high school and in almost every aspect of society (i.e. television commercials and bill boards) that the only way to achieve this dream is to go to school and earn a degree. Well long story short, while trying to grab my piece of apple pie I acquired an enormous mountain of debt (to the tune of 34K). I was also forced to leave the college that I was attending after just one year because tuition became just too expensive! This debt has followed me like a dark cloud and has become a burden to my young life. Even though the thought of having such a large amount of debt at such a young age is stressful I have continued to keep trying. I have not let it stop me, but it has tremendously slowed my pace to achieve my dream. Iâm currently enrolled in junior college but due to the fact I am solely dependent on financial aid my journey is a rough one. I have tried to pay on these loans but with little to no experience my job pool is more like a puddle. The money that I made was just not enough and I feel that Iâm in deep trouble. So if youâre reading this please find it in your heart to help a student in need of a fighting chance against my battle with student loans. Iâm not asking for much anything will help me win this fight.
Thank you-
Struggling Student

Urgent Help needed...
Posted by momincrisis on 2011-09-29 08:58:12
I'm truly embarrased to be in need as I have always tried to hold my own. However, I have recently divorced and my ex husband has truly made life difficult for me and our 5 kids. He kicked us out of our home, moved away with his girlfriend and her kids and now has stopped all support. With all of our court dates we had to attend and my oldest daughter being diagnosed with a liver tumor and treatments in another city, I lost my job. Now I am receiving disconnect notices and have nowhere to turn. I'm scared and alone in this. I have applied at so many places and yet not one call back once they find out I am a mother of so many children. I'm scared when he finds out I am having financial difficulties that he will try and take custody of my babies. Right now my bills are stacking up and I am approximately in need of $500+ to catch up my bills and avoid disconnect. I feel I have let my kids down. Please donate and help me. I've never been on this side of the fence. I have always helped others in need. I understand God doesn't give us more than we can handle and is beside me at all times. It is the faith I am holding onto. Thank you and God Bless to those who donate..and to those who can only offer a prayer.

One morning on my way to school a car hit me and i panic and fled the scene because i have probation and i didnt want to go to jail, driving with suspended lisence is a violation of my probation. I cant afford a lawyer i owe my previous lawyers money and i might be going to jail for a long time. i have had a vEry bad year. i dont want to let my kids down but theres no way out of this problem, i need the money.

SUV Rollover!
Posted by Dee5090 on 2011-02-08 15:58:58
We have been having problems since the economy crashed. We lost our home and our fence company was no longer bringing in much money. So I had to go to work, but the only job I could find was an hour away.So I tried my hand at selling cars. After about 5 months there I was on my way to work and hit black ice and flipped my suv 3 times. I was shook up and had a concussion but otherwise ok. I had tried twice before to get an economical car from my dealership but they said I'd need a lot of down. After the accident I tried again but it was the same story. I went to the salesman at a ford dealership that I had bought my Explorer from and was able to get a Ford Focus. Even though we were having it rough I was sure we could make the payment. However one week later they layed me off. I was able to get another job at a department store but does not start for a couple of weeks. So I am in dire straights. The tags, insurance and payment are due soon and I will not have a paycheck in time.I also have a lot of other bills that need paying that I don't want to think about. I need $1600.00. This would pay for my tags, insurance, first payment and gas till my first check. I don't know what else to do. Everyone I know, family and friends, are in the same state as I am.
Please, won't someone out there help me?

Need windows, wiring, siding, truck fixed, teeth fixed and hospital bill
Posted by nontoxic2010 on 2010-11-20 15:58:58
I need some remodeling work done. Been wholes around windows for over 11 years. Some windows cracked some not here any more. The windows that are not cracked are just single very thin and ice up in winter. My husband keeps saying going to fix. I give up on him. Any money I get he will not have access to. I just would like to live comfortable. Not fancy. Be nice to be warm. Not shivering and shaking all winter. I just do not know what to do any more. Had fire in Feb so more work needs done to house than original. Electrical fire. Need to wire house. I have an extenion cord ran over from garage for computer so I can work. Still owe fire department 2000.00 for putting fire out. My truck has been broke down for over 6 years. (Husband promised repeatly to fix, last few years he says cost to much he has no intention of ever fixing.) It needs transmission kit. After sitting for this long needs a couple of hoses, belt, filters, oil change and some tires. After truck fixed I need to get DL renewed. I would go live almost anywhere if just me. I have dogs. Most people say to get rid of them. I love my dogs they are like my kids. I would like better house for dogs also. Be nice to fix up fence a little better. I need a few fillings. A couple teeth hurt. I don't mind trying to save and do without but a toothache is hard to handle very long. Since I have been married I have lost 4 teeth. I have to wait so long between visits and I think alot has to do with stress. I would love to get some implants but that is last on the list. My husband had a heart attack a couple of months ago and I have not even open the bill yet. Scared to. His medicine if around 300.00 that is after what insurance pays. I am just so sad any more. I just want to have more bearable situation to live in. I don't clean the house and do what I should any more. I just need to get motivated. I do work from home and the company routes calls to me. I don't make as much as husband but I also an not spending money on gas or even makeup or clothes that would need if in the office. I don't even care to leave house any more but if an emergcy I would like my truck to run and have dl. Thanks
Please Help Me Get My Dog Out From The Pound
Posted by GodzJewel on 2010-11-01 08:58:58
My dog was picked up for biting someone who was on our property uninvited. He was chained, with no way to harm anyone unless they came close to him. He barks to warn us when someone is on our property, and also to warn the intruder to leave. For some unknown reason, the person continued to walk toward him, and got nipped on the hand. Unfortunately, it was enough to break the skin.
Now, I'm told that I can't get him back unless I have a 6-ft. fence put up around our property. We already have one about 4-ft., but the hurricane messed up some of it and busted in our gate. Now it's gonna cost about $3000 to have an 8-ft. fence installed. Meanwhile, my dog is staying at the pound, and I'm getting sicker and sicker as each day passes that something will happen to him.
I would be very grateful for any donation amount that brings me closer to the $3000. Thank you in advance.

Improve My Outlook on Life
Posted by kelright21 on 2010-09-19 18:58:58
My name is Kelli. I am 34 years old, and I live in the great state of West Virginia. My childhood wasnt all that great, and I never received life lessons. By the time I was 17, my credit was shot, and I was living with an undiagnosed mental illness. I have since gotten help and learned my own life lessons. I have 2 wonderful daughters, one of whom is autistic. I want them to have those happy memories that I never had. I am on a fixed income, and I abide by a very strict budget. My children will never know my worries because I wouldnt want them to carry that burden with them. I learned how to fix my credit, and I bought us a home with the help of some government financing. My mortgage is the first bill I pay every month, and that never leaves much. With a fixed income, I will never be able to give my girls financial help, but I hope to teach them life lessons, so that they know the value of health, happiness, and a dollar. There are four things that I need help with, and I hope one day to somehow achieve all four. The first is to pay off our furnace. We still owe $1452 on our furnace, and as they did set me up on a payment plan, this payment causes me to fall behind on other bills and groceries. The second thing I want is a fence. My youngest daughter does not understand boundaries, nor does she recognize danger. She is cooped up inside most of the time because of this. I would love for her to be able to play freely and safely. Every child deserves this. The third thing that we want is carpet. Our floors, when we bought the home, are all hardwood, and not in great shape. They have become a danger, as my children sometimes fall down. The last and final thing that would improve our lives immensely is a car. Before we purchased our home, we lived closer to family and friends, but now we have a difficult time getting around. We live in a rural area without public transportation or taxi service. With these four things, our lives would be pretty close to perfect. Sounds simple enough, but seems like a far away dream. We appreciate anything that can be done. And I guess our most pressing need would be the payoff on the furnace. The other three things arent really detrimental, but would greatly improve our outlook on life. Thanks!
Please help a family in need

Hi, I am a divorced mom of 2 little girls. I get zero alimony and child support. Unfortunately
I lost my job in August of last year. I have been looking but unfortunately, I am not qualified for much. In April of this year we were rear ended while sitting at a stop sign. I have been in physical therapy since then because of the damage to my left side. I still get horrible headaches that I am told could stop tomorrow or they could last until I die. We still have damage from the accident on my car that the insurance company will not pay and my transmission is going out.
This is very frustrating as I am used to being able to take care of my family. My youngest is having her birthday this weekend and unfortunately, I can't give her a party or even a gift. I know it is only July but, I can't help thinking Christmas isn't far off and I don't know how I am going to handle the current bills much less the Holidays.
We need help. We have had to move in with my parents. My mothers health is poor and their house is in need of alot of work. They need new plumbing and a new roof and the fence is rotting from the neighbors untreated termites.
Please, if you can give anything no matter how little, we would all be grateful. Thank you for your consideration in reading this, may God bless you and your generosity.

Every Boy Should Have a Dog

For a loooooong time, Ive wanted to adopt a puppy. We couldnt have one when I was a kid (allergies, parents, etc.), then for a long time I lived in the city. I know, I know, there are plenty of city dogs and its quite possible to give them wonderful lives, but I just wasnt sure my lifestyle would allow for that. Personally, for my ambition as a dog caretaker, I resolved not to seriously entertain bringing home a canine companion until I had a fenced yard that he could enjoy and relax in without being leashed or strictly supervised. Just under two years ago, I moved into my very first house, with a great big yard and a nice tall fence. Perfect, right?
Seemingly, yes. At first, the house needed a lot of work. The previous occupants had kept dogs, but were not terribly responsible about it. So, there was a lot of rehabbing to be done to floors, walls, woodwork and carpet. I really wanted to bring a puppy home, but I had to do it right. Have the infrastructure and resources all in place, really set us up for success, yknow? The plan was to adopt near the beginning of summer vacation (Im a teacher), so wed have plenty of time to bond, and train, and acclimate and play and socialize and... you get the picture. Things were looking good, and then... I lost my job.
Again, not wanting to leave the door open for failure, Project Puppy had to be postponed. I have a second (and now a third... and half a fourth) job, and some savings and other resources, so its not like Im in real danger of becoming homeless. BUT, taking on additional, non-elective expenses right now wouldnt be fiscally responsible. Unless, of course, I have help; thats where you come in.
It occurs to me, that oftentimes in the community of dog lovers, that when someone has a litter or finds a stray or has to move, and looks to place their pooch in a home rather than abandon them to a shelter, they reach out to their networks of friends and fellow-dog-lovers. So often Ive overheard the phrase, Ohhh, Id love to, but... dont have the space/money/time for another dog, the wife/husband/landlord would kill me, Ill ask around... I know that many donate generously to the ASPCA and various rescue organizations, on top of whatever is spent providing furry friends with toys and treats galore. I thought that perhaps, some of these dog lovers who have already filled their own homes to capacity with paws and leashes, might be willing to contribute to keeping at least one pup out of the system and in a comfortable home; and Project Puppy was born.
If youve got the dime, Ive got the time. The house is in order, the backyard is all set, Ive done a fair amount of research and dogsitting. Ive got a small network of dog-friends to socialize with and a reliable de facto sitter if I should ever need to travel out of town. The last missing piece is the available fundage to provide food, equipment, vet care, etc. I figure if I can scrape together $1000, that should be adequate for a years worth of normal care. Maybe a little more, considering the initial outlay of bowls and a leash and a bed. If you support the cause, and care to throw a dollar or two in the pot, Ill squirrel these funds away specifically for this purpose, and every little bit helps. Like child support, except this child is kinda hairy and has really harsh breath and I will never ask you for a paternity test. If you cant afford to donate, but know someone who would, maybe youll forward them a link so they can come read?
Thats about as far as Ive thought this web plea through. My owner taught me not to beg, but Ive a feeling that if enough people just read this site, I wont need to. Ill keep the site updated with how close we are to the goal, and hopefully once we succeed, pictures/videos/updates on the little guys progress. Thanks for your time, and your generosity!

Hello! I lost most of my income in 2007 when the mortgage industry began to tank. Since I did mortgages, I needed to find other employment. I realized I needed to be self employed in order to keep my home. I began babysitting then became a licensed daycare. I now need to play catchup. The mortgage company wants $17k to restart the mortgage again. I have 9 children and am truly getting back on my feet. UI, my electric company, is so expensive in CT. I have back bills of over $5k when I wasn't bringging in any income. And this season isn't any better. I want to keep my home. I was homeles for a while because my husband left me when I needed surgery and never came back, never sent help, nothing. Thank God there were no kids. I converted my entire first floor to the daycare. I still need backyard equipment, fence, and the basement finished for a computer lab. i'm also preparing to change my current license to accomodate more children. I'm doing all I can to keep up the pace, but I need donations to keep afloat. all donations are graciously appreciated. ALA Daycare NH, CT.,
