Pregnant dog rescuer needs your help
Posted by Laurisa77 on 2012-01-10 11:58:29
I have been a dog rescuer for over 10 years, working as a foster parent for my local humane society. This is 100% a volunteer position that I donate a lot of my time, energy and resources to. In the past 10 years I have rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed over 300 dogs and puppies.
I do have a full-time job to pay my bills. I am a hard worker and have been at my current job for 6 years. However, due to the economy in my area, my income recently took a sharp nosedive. I am looking for additional work to supplement my income and/or a different full-time job (that is not commission based).
Unfortunately, my bills are now behind and my home is in foreclosure. I own a small farm in the country and have a great set-up for the foster work that I do and a great place to raise a child. Rentals in our area tend to be higher than what my mortgage payment is now ($550), so moving wouldn't be a better move for me financially. I am currently 3 payments behind.
With cold weather here now, my electric bill has spiked and is now averaging about $195 a month (most months it is only about $85-$90).
I own my vehicle outright, but it's older and seems to be in need of more and more repairs. Right now I am in debt to my mechanic $165 for brake work he did 2 weeks ago. It's an older SUV and a gas guzzler.
I do not live a fancy lifestyle, by any means. I do not have cable tv, high-speed internet, new clothes or shoes, expensive purses or designer sunglasses. I live a very modest and healthy life and do not believe in waste. I'm not a drinker, not a smoker and do not use drugs of any kind.
The humane society foots in the bill on all of the foster-dog related expenses (vet care, food, toys, etc.), so I have no money going out towards that. I have cut back on the number of dogs that I foster, from 2-3 at a time to just 1. I am a responsible foster parent and in no way a hoarder.
I intend to continue fostering up until I have the baby (due date is August 15th). I get so much personal fulfillment out of rescue work and I know will miss it when the baby comes. However, I know that I will want to focus 100% on my child and being the best mom I can be.
I have always been a big believer in paying it forward to the greater good. I'm hoping that this plea will reach someone out there who is currently in a comfortable financial position and willing to assist someone who is not.
I can, and will, provide proof of any of the facts I stated above, including a letter from my employer, a letter from the humane society director, copies of my utility bills, mortgage bill, etc., upon request.

Please Help
Posted by sandieb on 2011-12-10 15:58:42
We got in over our heads when we had to use our credit cards to meet deductibles plus the 20% we owed as part of medical expenses.
All this due to cancer.
Which I still have.
I was diagnosed in 1997.
I am desperate and sorry to be doing this.
If I could work outside the home, I would. My health does not allow me too. I applied for government assistance and was denied.
I quit working to become a stay-at-home-mother and because of that my social security disability credits expired.
We have been making late payments on everything: including mortgage, utilities, and of course, the credit card.
We live frugally. We do not have any luxuries. No iPads, iPhones, or fancy toys.
Our two cars are quite old and paid for, but keep giving us EXPENSIVE trouble.
There doesn't seem to be any end to pit that we were "forced" to dig because of my cancer and the endless bills.
I even had to go without medical insurance last year for six months. I was terrified, but we simply did not have the money to make the insurance premiums. I went without medications and medical care.
My heart is heavy with sorrow.
My husband works hard, but unfortunately, just does not make a lot of money. He tries. Bless his heart.
I would be so grateful for any amount you feel you could give.
Thank-you for reading this and considering a good and generous deed.

Need help paying house taxes
Posted by homeowner on 2011-10-15 07:58:58
We just got a notice our house will go up for tax sale in March if we dont pay $1,700. We cant get a loan without employment. Our house payment is cheaper than rent, so selling isnt much of an option, especially since the market here is so down, I doubt we could even find a buyer. We don't expect to get $1700 obviously, but even if we could get something to put down on it and buy us some time.
We have three kids, our cars are 13 years old, and we have never bought new anything. We never lived off credit cards or run ourselves into debt. I shop at thrift stores, and coupon for groceries. Its not a matter of wasting our money, but being unable to stretch what we have to cover this. I'm sure there are millions of families just like ours. I promise that if we get help, we will pay it forward once we are back on our feet.
I just need $175

Please help a single mother and disabled autistic son get van repairs
Posted by kittydog on 2011-07-22 15:58:30
After the storm, we went without electric for 3 weeks. No heat, air or hot water because it also took out our service pole as well as the power lines. We survived it, but we have not yet recovered. Lost all of our food and we were unable to leave to get any food because of the van damage. The electrician broke the water line when he came to repair the service pole. We have been through so much and we both live on $624 a month so trying to get anything extra done is impossible. Please help us?
Any amount donated will be added to the van fund I have set up and used only for that purpose. I fully understand people being hesitant to donate and not knowing where their money is going and I want to assure you that this is a legitimate need and the money will be applied to van repairs. The amount needed is for the deductable and is $1,000. I do not want more than I need..I just want to get the van repaired.
The link below is for the damage pics and includes a Pay Pal donate button. Anything donated, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. I can not afford another vehicle as I am still paying on the van and owe $3,200 to pay it off. I have never missed or been late on a payment. This van is what I need for my son and I and is nothing fancy, but it is mechanically sound. I will need a new front left bumper, headlight, windshield and hood to be able to drive it safely. If you have any questions or just want to verify..I have a contact form on the site under the contact tab. Thank you so much for reading my post and caring.

Need either car repairs or a better used car
Posted by Lorsch on 2011-07-08 17:58:40
When he stopped paying, I ended up having to move to a small/cheaper home, and had my car repo'd. I turned in my credit cards, and went to a cash only lifestyle.
I got myself a beater car to keep getting to work, and to get my child to school every day. Now, the car is on it's last legs, but I have gone through my savings, and have no more money to repair it, or to get a different car.
I don't need a fancy car, just one that works and won't kill us with fumes.
Again, I do work, I do not have any subsidies or social/government help. I pay my own way.
If there is someone who could donate a lump sum, or several who could donate what you could afford, I will pool it to get a safe vehicle for my daughter and I.
I want to also point out, that I do not drink, use drugs or smoke. I don't date, I don't go to bars. I stay home and raise my girl, and work. I am not frivolous with money and the money I can raise from here is most definitely going to a safe vehicle.
Thank you in advance.
pride aside- we need help

Usually my husband has to use most of the money leftover every month to pay to go to work, and the kids and I are barely scraping by. I just had a baby, I can't go to work we are always on the verge of getting the utilities shut off,we have pawned and sold everything you can think of. we are not irresponsible and we live very frugally, no cable tv, no credit cards, no fancy vacations etc. We just need some way to get ahead. I believe in "pay it forward", and I would be willing to do just that as soon as I can. every dollar. Im not asking for a million bucks here, just whatever you can spare.

MY DAUGHTER NEEDS A BED
Posted by babykatt on 2011-04-03 21:58:40
Like I said, we are behind on all our bills, but I think our landlord and electric company will work with us. The only thing I care about is getting my daughter a bed. It doesnt have to be pretty, just comfortable for her. If anyone has an extra bed, or feels like donating a little to help me get one, I would appreciate it very much. And I dont expect something for nothing. As soon as we get caught up, I fully intend to repay any donations. This way, maybe you can help someone else later.
If you want to contact me directly you can email me at cleanbristol1@yahoo.com
Well, I guess that is it, I dont have a fancy or heartbreaking story to tell. Just want to get a twin bed for my girl. Thank you for reading and God Bless

I have waited too long to do this as this is the first time I have been in this position. I have always taken care of myself and helped others whenever I could. Now I am in need of help and feel bad that I have to ask for it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for any help you may offer.

Couple Wants 2 Escape From New York
Posted by mgiorgio on 2010-11-01 11:58:58
Living in New York City has been a culture shock for me (we live in the Bronx) and the stresses do not out way the positives. I really want to move but, we are just getting by with what little we both make, living in a dangerous area because thats all we can really afford.
Let's face it, relocation sux. It is the most stressful situation other than dealing with a loss of a loved one. Renting a U-Hul, paying for the gas, finding adequate affordable housing and securing 2 new jobs is going to be tuff, especially in Providences market. Providence may have its shortcomings, but it meets our basic needs.
Although this is going to be a task for me to commute back and forth (almost 4 hours each way) to try to obtain some footing; I am willing for the challenge to provide a better quality of life for both of us. Call me a Southern fool, but I want to do the very best for my girl, for our mental health, and our future.
Im not too proud to say that we need some assistance in getting there.
If you can even contribute a dollar, it would be greatly appreciated. We dont have any family that can afford to give us a loan, so we are giving this a try.
BTW: we are saving on our own; eating lots of spaghetti, toast, and rice. If we dont die from carbohydrate poisoning first we should be able to raise a good portion ourselves. We need to raise about $1500 more before our lease is up Feb 28th. All monies raised is going towards moving expenses, trust me .we are not asking for money to buy a new pair of fancy shoes or a new dress.
I know that this is a lot to ask from strangers especially, since there are other people with posts with more dire emergencies. Be that as it may, we still have our hope and faith that with your generosity, we can make this happen.
Thanks Yall

Struggling with debt
Posted by woodburymnman on 2010-08-05 14:58:58
My wife and I live in Minnesota and are currently expecting our first child in just over a month (mid-September). Last summer we bought our first home and also carry a pretty substantial amount of education debt. We worry about being able to provide for our child, pay the mortgage, the education loans and our car payments. In addition, I dream of being able to put money away for our child's future college education and retirement for my wife and I. If we could pay off just the student loan debt ($132,000), we could turn around and put that money into savings plans and pay down the mortgage faster.
This is where you come in. Any amount you could donate would be greatly appreciated. Every dollar helps and will go directly to our debt. Thank you so much for listenting.
