My boyfriend and I both work but our wages have been cut massively in the past 6 months. We just scrape by on what we have.

My boyfriend's family has a large bill to pay ($3000) and have asked us to contribute. This seems fair however we have no money to give them. Our part would be $800 and we just don't have it spare. If we had it, we would give it without a second thought.

However, they won't accept that we just don't have the money - even after showing them our balance of $0 - and say that we are being selfish and that if we don't pay the money, they won't speak to us again and will stop us from seeing our adorable 6 month old nephew (born on Christmas Day).

We're desperate and don't know what else to do.

I have just received a notice that my landlord will have me evicted because I am late on my rent. I'm 14 days late. I've been managing to make ends meet but I haven't been able to find a job and my previous employer has went out of business after working there for 5 years. I have filled out so many applications, made phone calls, physically went in to speak with a manager and still no luck. I go to every job, career, or hiring fair I can and still nothing. I paid my April rent and had nothing left but $17 in my pocket. I bought rice and beans and that's all I've eaten for the past month. I only eat 1 meal a day because I can't afford to eat anything more. My light are off because I couldn't pay it. I've sold everything I think is of value...my laptop, my tv, my phone, and any expensive clothing items I owned (which were gifts). I'm 20 years old and my parents can't help, they are bankrupt as of 6 months ago. I try not to let anyone see me down about this, but I'm extremely depressed because of this and I'm trying everything I can to help myself.

I am trying so hard to pay back my debt, but every time I feel like I am getting anywhere, something else happens to me putting me right back to where I started! I was left with funeral costs of a loved one, as well as my remaining debt of bills, school and credit cards. I am in desperate need of a car for work, since everything I make goes towards cab fair. Full time college student, with a two year old son, needs transportation to get back and forth from school and daycare. I'm out of options and running out of time. I won't get any finances till September. We already have food assistance and medicaid. I just cannot keep going out walking cold mornings and coming back hot afternoons. First of all I am not asking help for myself but for a friend whom Ive never seen but know her through the Internet. She lives in an eastern European country and she is gay. By the time she came out she already was married and had two georgeous and smart kids. I can imagine how confused she must have been and how hard must have been the decision for her to pick up the courage and come out. Of course this meant a divorce and her ex- husband ( pride and ego bruised because wife left him not for another man but a woman ) is fighting custody for the kids - and not always fair. Also to put it bluntly - he has money and she doesent. She and her partner going through a rough patch - age even posted on her blog that they had to make a decision between to eat or pay the solicitor. Of course they choose the solicitor. Her heart is thorn between her love and her children - she is a mother and has to watch how her ex and his new partner poison her children's mind calling her a faggot/ queer infront of them, telling them she is an abomination and that she is not worth to be loved but she needs to be locked up. She would be able to fight for her children despite this but where she lives it is not accepted to be gay ( ohh not openly no ) and the last time the judge actually voiced her opinion that the children have the right to live in a family which consist of a man and a woman.
I would love to help her to get the funds needed but I'm off on sick leave and have problems on my own ( rent arreas, bad debts as sickness came unexpected and don't have any savings ) that's why I'm asking here whoever can help her please do ( through me or straight to her )

I have been asking for help from this predatory lender Rochester Home Equity which no one heard of this company. I have filed a complaint against RHE with Department of Financial Services and the reply was I can not get any help from them because my case is in court yes I know that it's been in court for 2 Years and i am not getting anywhere, I know that Jay Gelb the owner of Rochester Home equity is a millionaire, I just can't bet this lender and it's not fair that Mr. Gelb is going to take my houses and won't do a modification, and it's so sad that Mr. Gelb from Rochester Home Equity taking advance of low income people, I just want to know how many other victims is out there and couldn't get any help from anyone to help them before it was to late and everything they work for is GONE. My problem is I am being counsel by my lawyer but again it's has been a on gowning problem with Rochester Home Equity, all we been asking is for Rochester Home equity to TAKE my mother house off the lien that didn't have any mortgage on the 48 Homewood Ave my mother left me and my brother and do modification my house on 43 Twiller St. Rochester Home Equity is just giving us a hard time. As of right now I am debt with my lawyer for $10,000.00 that money I don't have because going to court and trying to do modification and we are not getting anywhere with this lender. I am so tried that Rochester Home Equity want reply to any thing that my lawyer is asking. I just want RHE this predatory lender just take my mother home that she left me and my brother off the lien that didn't have any mortgage on the home and work with my home that is worth $136,000.00 I brought the house I live in for $130,000.00 and my rate is 12.5 percent don't you think that a very HIGH rate. Yes I am bennig counsel by a lawyer as i stated my lawyer is not getting anywhere with this Rochester Home Equity. All I am asking you for help and step in because what RHE is doing is wrong and like I stated NO one cares what happen to me and other people that the lender is doing to us and hurting people too. Now I will be going into Chapter 13 because I don't want to lose my homes, and RHE this Predatory Lender just don't care ONLY wants both houses. So can you PLEASE step into this matter! It's a big problem as you see what have happen to me. We have some family out of the state that sends money but most of the time its not much or they are unable to send money due to financial problems. My sitiutation is not uncommon. I was promised to be re-hired and my employer decided to hire someone less experienced than me instead. Leaving me with no options as my field of work experience for the last 10 years has been in 'groundskeeping'. And all prospective employers have already hired their crews.
I live 12 miles outside the major city and with the rising cost of gas it is almost impossible to drive in to seek work on a daily basis. I have been going in 2 to 3 times a week with no results.
