I have been invited by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) to play in the World Championships this year. I am currently registered but now I am worried about not having enough money to make it there. The tournament is in North Carolina and I am from Michigan. This is the first year that I have been invited and would be devastated if a lack of funds prevented me from playing.

My husband has been out of a job for over a year now and we've been struggling to pay mortgage and electric enough as is. I work full time but it's not easy to live off one income. Until he finds a job, for which he is constantly searching, I don't have any extra money in my budget for extras like tournaments but this is such a great opportunity for me.

I need all the help I can get and every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated! I am going to be fundraising locally to help cover the cost of hotel accommodations.

This is why I'm posting here:

I am 25 and for my entire life, I have been fat. I don't mean this as in, a little on the chubby side; but obese. I can remember being in 5th grade, when our class had to get weighed and measured at the nurses office. The sinking feeling in my gut that came up when I weighed almost 200 lbs at the age of 10 is something that I don't think I will entirely forget.

Because of my horrible diet as a child (McDonalds, soda, you name it), I have spent my entire young life coping with being overweight and all of the horrible things that go with it: wondering if I'll fit in a seatbelt, wondering if I would break a friends bed or chair if I sat on it, or never being able to find a cute outfit to wear like all the other girls. When I was about 14, I was diagnosed with PCOS, which is cysts on my ovaries (contributing to my obesity, or as a result of, but they worked in tandem to make my life miserable). Without health insurance, I was never able to get this issue resolved, and with my poor diet, my weight increased. PCOS symptoms also include abnormal facial and body hair, which was (and to a degree still is) the bane of mine and any woman's existence. A woman should never have to feel so ashamed of her own body, and yet that is exactly how I've felt for as long as I've realized that I was different, and that looks mattered.

My highest weight as of 4 months ago topped out at 324 (thought I had reached 340 a year earlier but had lost some weight over a long period of time). Recently I began taking HCG (a hormone that helps regulate fertility and also helps with weight loss), and am amazed to report that for the first time in my adult life, I am 270 lbs. While this still is a lot, for me it is an incredible number to be at. Never in my life have I felt the fear of dying at 30 begin to be lifted, though I still have a long way to go.

So the point of my request: there are a lot of dreams I have that I feel like I am within reach of grasping. Some of them have already been fulfilled: I have been able to travel with my family, and this past year my parents helped me to finance a jeep. This is a huge one...I live on the west coast and have always wanted to live a surfer/beach lifestyle.

But how could a fat girl ever be a surfer? It's been my dream for the past 10 summers to learn to surf, with beaches only 15 minutes away. But every year, the fear stopped me, my weight stopped me, my inability stopped me.

I want this year to be the last year fear gets in the way.

With my weight going down, I've been trying to exercise. I've been attempting a modified version of P90X, and have been eating healthy and avoiding all the foods that got me where I am today. The problem is that financially, while I do work full time, I barely make enough to cover my bills (gas, car insurance, car payment, cell phone), and am not even able to help my hard working parents pay rent. So money for extras this summer is not really possible, but I CAN'T let another year go by without accomplishing this task.

I want to attend a surf camp this summer in San Diego, called Surf Divas. The problem? Surf lessons are expensive. I think to get me on the right path, I'd need at least 10 hours of lessons. At $82 an hour, thats $820.

The reason I want to fulfill this dream is to prove to myself and others that no matter where you've been, or how far your body is from being in shape, that the human body is remarkably capable of change. I would want to encourage anyone who doesn't think they are the right "type" to surf or do a sport that they can push their bodies to do things they never thought possible. And I sincerely believe that learning to surf will help me pursue my health and fitness goals long term, as well as truly set free the earth-and-sea-loving hippie that I keep snug and close to my soul. I live for summer and the ocean...and being able to ride a way would be life changing for me.

If anyone is able to donate or help support me in taking charge of my health and fitness...there would be no adequate way to thank you. I will send you a picture of me riding my very first wave as a token of gratitude, with a friendship bracelet made by me with a few shells from the beach strung on it. My way to say thank you for helping me to live a healthy life.

I’m a woman with a dream. A dream to have my own successful business. Yes, I am a single mother of a great son, whom I’m supporting in college. With Robbing Peter to pay Paul, college tuition and trying hard to build a solid business with any extras I have. Which there really aren’t any extras. I make the needed sacrifice to build my business. I’m asking for your help to build a solid foundation to ensure my business is sustainable and successful. Like so many people, I received the dreaded “You are laid off” line. But, by the grace of GOD I found another job before my last one ended. I don’t want to hear that line again. Instead of worrying about losing a job I want to be in a position of creating a job (s). With the help of some we made some headway with my last posting. However we have a long with to go. After struggling for years with medical and financial problems it's come down to the wire. My wife became disabled about six years ago. Luckily I was able to do contact work giving me flexibility to take care of her weekly Doctor appointments not to mention 4-5 Hospital stays a year and provide for our three children. But since August of last year the wheels came off when work slowed down, then stopped. However the bills continued to mount, after exhausting all resources available it's come down to being months late on rent, utilities, and several other things. We've cut out all the extras a long time ago but even with that we need to come up with at least $4,500 dollars this week. After this the eviction notice, car repossession and just about everything else we have left will be gone. Any help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated. Didn't know what else to do. Thank you in advance for any help possible!

I owe delinquent county auto taxes in the amount of $184.00.
I moved last month and paid new rent, security deposit, electric company deposit, natural gas deposit, etc.
I have no extras-no cable, no internet, no house phone, and that I can deal with.
I DO have a good job and need to drive to work each day.
DMV will suspend my driver's license TONIGHT if I do not pay the past due county taxes for last 2010. HELP!!
I get paid in 2 weeks but must register my vehicle for 2012. The State of Virginia(and most states) will suspend my driving privileges if my past due personal property taxes are not paid.
I just spent my last $68.00 dollars replacing a front tire today on my 1994 Dodge Caravan.
Will you please help me?

PLEASE help I need help to get my water turned back on. It has been off since Nov 30th I am a single mom of 2 boys going through a divorce from a alcoholic, He has only made 1 child support payment since being court order in Aug. I am not asking for the money to be given to me I can give you the account number and the phone number to the water company I am desperate I have been purchasing gallons of water from the grocery store but this is taking away from the food money, I have just recently gotten hired and am now on my second week of work but for me to get the money for the water it will take until after Christmas, I don't have extras in my life my gas bill is $10.00 and so is my electric thanks to HEAP, I have called everyone I know and the most help I can get is $50.00 from the salvation army. If this is something you can help me with it would be greatly appreciated in more ways then you can imagine! I have a posting on here trying to sell my ex's truck IT IS IN MY NAME so I have tried it all, PLEASE HELP again I DO NOT WANT THE MONEY YOU CAN CALL THE WATER COMPANY THEMSELVES AND DO IT. Im on here basically as its my last option, here is my story........

I have recently moved to a new area and started a new job, about 3 weeks
ago, with my long term boyfriend. He needed to get out of the old town we
were living in due to work issues as he'd recently been sacked. Being the
doting girlfriend I continued to pay his mortgage as well as all my own
bills and help him out with cash from time to time until we got back on
track and everything sorted. He has now got a great job in York and Ive paid
for him to get a room in a shared house so he could start things straight
away. Ive continued to fund everything else,including the fees of moving and
getting a new place for the both of us to live close to my new job and
obviously put down my name on all contracts since it was myself paying and
setting it all up.
Now after leaving my home, family friends and job, spending my life savings
and trying to create a lovely home for a new start for the both of us, the
sale of his house has now come through and he has decided to break up from
me! I know nobody for 120 miles, have no savings and signed up to a 6month
contract on the rent etc with now half the income expected and need to now
pay for everything myself, exactly how Im supposed to do this I have no
idea. I cant afford food or cleaning products and the place is a state,but
living without extras I can deal with, but I just dont know how I can pay
the standard bills. I owe out monthly £1400 and my pay is only £800. I
know people are a lot worse off than myself, but I dont qualify for any
benefits with me being 24 (apparently you have to be 25 or have a child to
qualify for anything) and Im all alone here now and I dont know what to do.
Ive got another job on evenings and weekends but it really doesnt even make
a dint in the bills.

I know its a lot to ask but even a spare 10p is greatly appreciated, it may
just mean I can buy a tin of soup and have a decent dinner one night!

Again thankyou for simply taking the time to read this, and if you so much
as feel bad for me then your a good person and I could do with remembering
that those do exist!

Hi, I'm a 21 year old man who just moved to a new city and am looking for a job.

When I was 17, I dropped out of high school. I made bad choices and was borderline homeless for three years.

Long story short, I smartened up and moved to a new city and state to live with my older brother. I got my GED and am enrolled at a local community college. Money is tight and the best career opportunities require I have a drivers licenses, why I do not.
All I simply need is $240 for driving lessons. I work part time at a restaurant and occasionally run errands for my elderly neighbors, but other expenses won't allow for extras.

Any amount will help.

What can I say, we are your average family. Married, two kids, family dog, the "good life" Until different job loss scenarios came into play. That is when the financial problems started. Between downsizing and a pregnancy in which she was unable to work, we spent the majority of two years on one income. Which is the case with many families, so I am no different or do I deserve special treatment. Troubles have hit us all.

We do not live outside our means, or engage in lucrative spending practices. We save most of our extras for the children, and rarely on ourselves. In doing the budget, I have always "prioritized" the bills. Paying the important ones first. Mortgage, utilities, groceries, and toiletries. Others have been ignored, which is fine because I have always wanted the roof over my head, and food in our stomachs.

We have a few old billls, from Credit Cards that were ignored while she was out of work. One was paid through Garnishment, which I didnt fight, so that it would get paid. I want to avoid doing that again.

Enough of my sob story, as I am sure by this time you have made up your mind to donate or not. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. If I had it to give back at the current time I would. All I can say is I will "pay it forward" when the situation allows.

I am a college student majoring as a Respiratory Therapist. I am the first person in my family to ever attend college, and money has been extremely tight. I recently was told to come up with a large sum of over $5000 to pay for extras needed to be enrolled in the medical field. Please help me. Hello, I need to purchase my 11 year old son A robotics kit for school.He is in the schools RoboLab program. The school normally buys the kits and sells them at discount to the kids. Due to the cuts in the budget the program is not being funded any more by the district and is now a "parent funded program" with the exception of in class materials and teacher. The kids that wish to compete outside of school need there own kit. So, there you have it. I need to buy the boy his kit. Kits are 425.90 from lego education. I am a hard working mom who pays my bills and provides for my son. I just don't have alot for extras and this is an extra ... If you could help i would greatly appreciate it and so would my son.
