I am a 48yo male. I have had a heart condition since i was 21. About 15 years ago I went for heart surgery and got a staph infection in my chest. I was in the hospital for months fighting this and was told I would not live. I am lucky to be alive 15 years later. However the staph damaged my heart. It enlarged it and over time I developed heart failure in 2004. Then I became diabetic in 2005. The staph also destroyed bone in my chest. I had to have my sternum removed. I also developed irregular heart beats leaving me dizzy most of the time. This left me disabled on Social Security and medicare. Before this I always work 60 to 100 hours a week. Which also contributed my poor health. In 2008 I had my second heart attack (a minor one). It was actually lucky for me. Doctor installed a defibrillator with pacing technology. My dizzy spells were finally under control. Since then I have been working hard to build strength so I can go back to work and have a normal productive life. My car .. 1996 Chevy Corsica is no longer road worthy. Now I have trouble making appointments to my Cardiologist, primary care Physician and physical therapy. This year i have missed 6 doctors appointments and had to stop all therapy. I also have trouble picking up medication on time so i got with out them sometimes up to a week. I didn't realize how important my car was until i couldn't use it. I get $1500/mo from Social Security. $96 of that goes toward medicare insurance premium. My rent is $500/mo. My medications are $400/mo and that is with prescription help. With out that help my meds are $1476. My utilities run $400/on average. The rest I spend on food, car insurance and medical bills. Other than socks and underwear I have not bought any clothes in 15 years ... nothing. I am asking for any help. Most important i need to get a car or fix my car which needs $2300 in repairs. Exhaust, brakes, bodywork and a windshield. If I have wheels I can finish getting back into shape and work to take care of everything else. If I get the help I need from here I PROMISE when I go back to work I will come back here and help people DOUBLE the amount of help I got. Unfortunately if I don't get help my health will go backwards. I will die within a year or two. I just starting gaining muscles back in my legs and arms I still have a long way to go. I need to get cardiac therapy to make my heart stronger. It isn't something I can do at home because I need to be monitored the whole time. Please help. Time is important I have already lost 5 months of therapy and my legs are getting weaker and i am getting weaker. I beg you. Please. But if prayers are all you can give I will appreciate that also. God Bless you all and your families.

Too Busy Fighting for My Life to Notice the Government Bend Me Over

Posted by proudcitizen on 2012-03-22 20:58:26

I am a married 59 year old disabled man. My wife is also disabled. I paid into Social Security and Federal taxes for 34 years and served my country during the Iran Hostage crisis. While getting my 50 year physical exam my bloodwork and a biospy ended up putting me through 2 chemos for my liver. Even though I wasn't cured we seemed to have stopped the progression of the disease. While going through this living hell our government would not approve my Social Security disability until I was completely penniless. My claim was finally approved after 2 years with no income or money. The judge who approved my claim was appalled that the SS Administration waited so long to approve someone over 55 with a 34 year work history. I was found 100% disabled due to a condition that ends in death. It's pretty obvious they were waiting to see if I would die! Now I do have some income which I am thankful for but it doesn't cover all my expenses. If all I had was general bills like gas, water, electric, car ins. and food I could make ends meet. I am struggling to pay my property tax. I own my home which my father built after WWII. My property tax is billed every 6 months and is over $1000.00 semi-anually my monthly check is only $1300.00 which barely covers the regular bills. Right now I am barely staying ahead of the threats to sell my home for back taxes. I applied for the Homestead Act property tax exemption for seniors and the disabled where they can deduct up to $25000.00 from the value of your home and tax that amount. The average person in my state saves $400.00 a year on this program according to their website. When my tax bill came this exemption only reduced my taxes by $164.00 a year. That's only $82.00 from each semi-annual government extortion. First I was forced to exhaust my life savings before they would approve my disability now this. I must figure a way to supplement my income. I have paid my dues and shouldn't have to struggle and deal with such heavy stress at this stage of my life. These are supposed to be pleasant years when you've lived right. Please, HELP!

I am in a bind. Will someone PLEASE help me out

Hi, I wonder if my previous posts have been just too long for others to read. My car has failed me again today, this time the air conditioner has stopped working :(. It was only a few weeks ago that I had to replace the battery, before that the tyres and before that the exhaust fell out of the engine and had to be welded back on. I am at a loss for what to do. I live in the Northern Territory of Australia and humidity peaks about 70% most days. It is extremely hot and humid. I am by myself with 3 kids, the youngest is just 1. He was wet all over when I took him out his car seat earlier. I am so sad and I don't know what else to do :(. Honestly we fell on hard times a year ago when my marriage broke down. I wish so much that I had more money to repair the car. It worries me a lot as it seems to be one thing after another :(. Along with the shocks and A/C that now needs replacing all the other expenses have cost in the hundreds. If you are reading my plea right now please find it in your heart to give me a helping hand. I will be forever grateful for anything, honestly.

Thank you & may God's blessings rain upon you.

hi everybody,
me and my fiancee have a 7 month old baby and Im the only one working right now due to her looking for a job constantly and not a single call back we drive a 85 Buick century that is just falling apart its alignment is shot and we have to buy tires every few months it has exhaust leaks, broken motor mounts, axles, radiator leaks and my power steering is going out. every time i fix something on it something new and worse pops up i know its not safe for my family but its all i can afford right now on a tight income i would love to be able to get my family a small reliable car. if i happen to get a car before this i would like to be able to possibly put a down payment on a house or nicer apartment due to our apartment being way to small for us and has a ton of problems that our landlord puts off the problem or says there is no problem at all. it would mean a lot to my family and me if we were blessed with this money.
thank you for your view,

Please help me clear debt that is drowning me

Posted by George180262 on 2012-02-06 11:58:11

I’ve never asked for any kind of help before, and certainly not from people that I have never met! But my situation has become so desperate that I really do need help.
I have, for the last 15 years, struggled to make ends meet, following periods of ill-health, bad luck and catastrophic decision making. My circumstances are now very desperate indeed, and have even considered suicide.
In 1997 I suffered from a period of depression, that became so severe that I was forced to give up my job, and borrowed money to cover my mortgage and keep my house. Unfortunately the repayments on this ever increasing debt snowballed, and I found myself unable to meet my mortgage and household bills. I had ploughed my life savings into the home, and lost it all.
In 2006 I was approached by a friend, who was concerned for my financial circumstances, and suggested that we buy an old property, renovate it and sell it for a profit. I was desperate to make some money, and trusted my friend. I would refer you to full details of this in my Beg, as the project ended in complete failure having been ripped off by an unscrupulous builder. Work that should have taken 3 months took in excess of 9, and I ended up carrying out all the work myself. I regularly worked at the house from the early hours until well past midnight. The long hours left me exhausted, and in October 2008 I had a breakdown. I simply couldn’t carry on, and collapsed at work. My employer at the time was an unforgiving and vindictive man, and he said that I would be suspended if my work didn’t improve. I was afraid that I would lose my job, and under considerable psychological pressure from my employer I was forced to resign.
Following the failed business venture, which had plunged me into further debt, my breakdown and subsequent loss of my job, I simply couldn’t cope and pushed me into a long period of depression that became so severe that I planned to take my life. At the time I was so ill that I was unable to hold down a job, and this simply added to my woes - whilst out of work and undergoing intensive counselling I borrowed further. By the end of 2009 I was £15,000 ($23,250) in debt. I desperately want to rebuild my life now, but it is difficult to do so when I am saddled with a debt that is crippling me. Between 2009 and December 2010 my debt increased - there is no answer to it, and I will never ever me able to clear the £18,000 ($27,900) that I now owe. It is a debt that cripples me and prevents me from having a normal, happy life. I am 50 in February 2012, but have no future. I am tired of being worried, stressed, unable to sleep, and being depressed. Please, please help me start my life all over again. Please read my full story, and contact me if you have any questions. Thank you.

Every penny counts... please help. we are desperate.

I never thought I would be on one of these sites. I worked very very hard to get to where I am today and now I am faced with losing it all.

We had a very difficult last couple of monthes, but manageable. I was sick for a month or so, nothing serious but enough to exhaust me. It all started with a minor yet very painful back injury. We, made a decision to purchase a friendlier mattress as my husband and I both work in intensive labor jobs and our bodies have taken quite a toll. It helps emmensely and although i was still sick, i was sleeping through the night. Recently married in August, we have about 10,000 in credit card debt, most of which is still paying for the wedding. Being suckers for animals, we took in an abandoned cat a couple monthes back.. she turned out to be pregant with behavioral issues. We kept 2 of the kittens, making 4 cats total, which is a huge adjustment. The damage to our apartment though is considerable. We figured by the time we decided to move we'd have the damages saved up as it is importnat to leave the apartment int he best shape possible. I knew we had stretched ourselves a little thin but I figured we'd be able to catch up in a couple monthes. After vet bills to care for the cats (a staggering $400) we were settling in to figure how to bring ourselves back on track. My husband's job puts him at risk for injury, as does mine. He was diagnosed with a hernia a week ago and meets with the surgeon to schedule the repair before it gets worse (it is already interfereing with his life as it is painful).

This morning my husband lost his job and I was put on notice. We cannot pay our bills. The timing is the perfect storm and we are desperaste.

We know we made poor decisions. This is too public a venue to truly explain How far we both have come in our lives, the obstacles we overcame to get here and how vehemently hard we worked to make our lives what they have been these last couple of years. There was a time I would not have dared to dream my life could be so blessed. And now, a few small mistakes could take it all away.

I am hoping to get a little money, any money really..to help offset our bills so that we have time to find another job. This website is my my desperate plea.
thank you

Single father needs help

Posted by Redaction on 2011-05-20 15:58:26

I lost my job end of Feb 2011. I am a single father and live in Florida. While Florida is number 3 in the country in "unemployment", the county I reside "Pinellas" is number 1 in the state of Florida.

I have started a business selling computer software training solutions and my target audience is any "Information Technology" professionals in the field needing continuing education or wanting to get certifications.

The "information Technology" field is continually growing and will be around for a long time. With technology always changing, for example newer versions of Windows, training is a necessity for survival in this profession.

I am looking for some capital to help launch this opportunity. I am looking for about $10,000 to assist me in developing this business as well as being able to pay my bills and not exhaust what little savings I have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I heard about this site and figured, nothing ventured nothing gained. I hate to ask for anything however, based on the facts above on the "unemployment" in Florida, I felt compelled to try this. I am not too sure I have any expectations, however, you never know. Hence, here I am asking for help embarrassingly so.

If the organization you represent, has any "information Technology" professionals, perhaps we could discuss my training solutions for your team

I can provide any documentation as to the credibility of this business and web sites if contingent on receiving said assistance.

Any help what so ever would be so appreciated and welcomed and I will thank you exponentially from the bottom of my heart.
