I'm a single mother and a full time college student with a part time job. I make roughly 240 dollars a week. This month I paid a rent bill, electric bill, water bill, car payment, auto insurance bill, Internet bill, and had to buy baby supplies along with the normal household necessities such as dish detergent, clothes detergent, soap, toothpaste, garbage bags, ect. No problem! I usually manage to pay all of my bills by the grace of something bigger than myself. I don't know how I'm doing it. I've been doing it for over a year now by myself. I do without a luxurious cell phone and television. I have to have Internet for school. Thank God for Google and Youtube. A girl deserves more entertainment other than deciphering her 9 month old's poop to determine whether or not its lime-greenish hue comes from the peas she ate 2 days ago, or if a fungus is among us.

The thing is.. I am hungry. I am not Ethiopian starving, but I'm hungry. My last meal consisted of a pack of chicken flavored ramen noodle soup and 3 saltine crackers. The 7 meals before that consisted of the same exact thing, except I was so lucky as to add a few broccoli florets to the soup broth. I have since ran out of broccoli and ramen. All I have left in my food pantry is canned baby food, and oatmeal. I am down to drinking tap water and falling asleep at night to the borborygmus sounds that my intestines sing to me out of pure hunger. I am so very blessed to be able to pay my bills and provide for my daughter while furthering my education so that some fine day we will both be living like Princesses. I have counted each and every one of my blessings. However, food isn't among these blessings of mine. All I'm asking is for someone to treat a girl to a hot nutritious meal.

Hi i'm a 22 yr old female that doesn't leave her home. I've been like this since very young. I have these insecurities that give me nothing but paranoid/depressed feelings. I come from a poor family. I hope that one day i will be able to live my life because right now i just exist. I have never asked for help but after numerous interviews extensive hours of submitting my resumes online. I’ve never asked for any kind of help before, and certainly not from people that I have never met! But my situation has become so desperate that I really do need help.
I have, for the last 15 years, struggled to make ends meet, following periods of ill-health, bad luck and catastrophic decision making. My circumstances are now very desperate indeed, and have even considered suicide.
In 1997 I suffered from a period of depression, that became so severe that I was forced to give up my job, and borrowed money to cover my mortgage and keep my house. Unfortunately the repayments on this ever increasing debt snowballed, and I found myself unable to meet my mortgage and household bills. I had ploughed my life savings into the home, and lost it all.
In 2006 I was approached by a friend, who was concerned for my financial circumstances, and suggested that we buy an old property, renovate it and sell it for a profit. I was desperate to make some money, and trusted my friend. I would refer you to full details of this in my Beg, as the project ended in complete failure having been ripped off by an unscrupulous builder. Work that should have taken 3 months took in excess of 9, and I ended up carrying out all the work myself. I regularly worked at the house from the early hours until well past midnight. The long hours left me exhausted, and in October 2008 I had a breakdown. I simply couldn’t carry on, and collapsed at work. My employer at the time was an unforgiving and vindictive man, and he said that I would be suspended if my work didn’t improve. I was afraid that I would lose my job, and under considerable psychological pressure from my employer I was forced to resign.
Following the failed business venture, which had plunged me into further debt, my breakdown and subsequent loss of my job, I simply couldn’t cope and pushed me into a long period of depression that became so severe that I planned to take my life. At the time I was so ill that I was unable to hold down a job, and this simply added to my woes - whilst out of work and undergoing intensive counselling I borrowed further. Never thought I would find myself on here doing this. But anyway, recent events have put me in a huge hole and with or economy and job market not improving I have no other choice than to ask for help. I know you've probably heard this story before, a long with a thousand other
stories, but i am a single mom with 4kids and i'm falling behind with my
bills. I hardley have money for food, im in fear of loosing my home, and im
in debt on my credit card trying to keep up with my mortgage payments

After 6 years of marriage I now find myself alone and raising a kid while unemployed. I guess it would be a little easier for me if I was actually able to finish my last five classes so that I could actually have my Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems. Unfortunately I am not able to go back right now because I can’t afford it. I can’t even get a job working in the supermarket for some reason. I know that the economy is bad but what are we suppose to do? I have to take care of my kid with the little children support that I receive each month. $550 to be exact. I was getting unemployment... $43 a week but it ran out. My kid and I are renting a room from a guy which takes almost all of the child support. I have to pay an additional $50 per month so that my kid can get back and forth to school each day. We are sleeping on inflatable mattresses... Well, they use to inflate.. So now we are just sleeping on the floor. The house doesn’t have heat at all..so it’s cold in here all the time. I actually find it amazing because we are living in California.. I never thought it would get cold here. Again I don’t have any idea of what to do.. I went from living in my own home to living in someone else’s home sharing a bathroom with four strange people.. I went from working a full-time job making excellent money to waiting for my child support to be posted to my account so I can try to do some laundry so my kid could have clean clothes. I am still baffled as to how I ended up here? Of course my ex doesn’t help at all. Oh, by the way, he has his own apartment.. He also has the minivan.. My kid and I have to catch the bus or walk everywhere we need to go.. I can’t buy new clothes for him.. I can’t buy shoes for him either... I feel like such a failure.. It would be great if I could get a job, I would love that more than anything..

Web Design with some computer programming, logo design, etc. Hopefully I can meet other unemployed women (or men) who are interesting in working together so that we can raise above our current situation. I’m a single mother with 4 kids and I’m very sickly and as a result I had to leave my work a few years ago. My older daughter who is the sole bread winner of the family got retrenched over 2 years ago from her job and so we have no income or money for my medications. She has struggled ever since to find a job. She is very creative and has a Business degree which she got after putting herself through varsity while working and supporting us financially. I know she would be very successful if she didn’t have to support us as she is very smart and hard working. But now every little penny she makes goes towards supporting us.

She is now trying to start a business, a marketing company to be exact and has already registered this business because she believes in it so much. However the only problem now is that she has no money whatsoever to get it off the ground because every penny she makes she uses it to support us. And I can see her spirit is starting to weigh down because now she is stuck and has no way of financially supporting this business. She knew from the very beginning when she registered this business and even registered it for tax that she did not have the finance to see it through and she simply acted on her faith and hoped that God will provide. I have nothing to leave for my children when I leave this earth as I said; I’m very sickly and have been for years. Please if any of you can find it in your heart please help me help my daughter get her business of the ground. Please help me do just this one thing for her in my lifetime. I have no way of helping her and have not been able to actually all my life because I’ve had to raise them all alone which was very hard but I’m proud of the person she’s become. Ok here are the basics of my story. I am a hard working mom of 3. Been with the same selfish man for 13 yrs. Hes been unemployed for over a year couldnt even keep up with housework while I work overnights for a greedy corprate owned pharmacy. One day dcf shows up because the kids clothes were dirty. After seeing a messy house ( thanks to guess who ) an investigation is started . I do all that is asked all is well. Same investigator comes back a year later. Police escort sees no reason for kids to be taken but that doesnt matter to dcf. Children get taken anyway. Begged him to take them to my sister (the one person in this world I thought I could trust) Now because her same sex partner has fallen in love with my children and is heart broken over having to give them back my sister has done everything from false anonomys allegations to telling counslers that they are so traumatized by me that even the sound of my voice over the phone makes them wet their beds at night. Lies to me and says she never said anything like that meanwhile I have all copies of every document stating the exact opposite. Her only response is how can you believe them over me Im family

My name is Richard. Recently my step-father passed away, leaving my mother alone. My step-father was disabled with scoliosis, so he received a disability check once a month which came to around $700. My mother is also disabled with some sort of bad arthritis disease. I'm sorry I cannot remember the exact name, but years ago they had to place metal plates in her knees and was wheelchair bound for a few years, but can now get around with only a cane. So she also recieved a disability check, but hers was only around $400 a month.

Well, after my step-father passed away back on July 2nd, 2011. She no longer received his disability checks, and where as her own disability check can cover almost 90% of the house payment, that leaves her with no spending money at all. No money for all of her medications and food.

Since she is disabled, she receives very few food stamps. Since she can never work, the government feels it appropriate that she only receives $45 a month in food stamps. That's not enough for an entire month, and also considering the only stores around here are the big name ones, like wal-mart and kroger.

After my step-father passed away, I was laid off from work, again, from a company called Unifacs. Now the first time I was laid off, I received unemployment. This year, they came back and hired me back in, but this time it only lasted for 2 month before they laid everyone off again, so because of the short period, I do not quality for unemployment this time. I have searched for over a month for work, anywhere. I have over 45 applications floating around my area, and about that amount in online applications as well.

I never really had a problem finding work before, until now. Times have for sure changed. They hire these 16 year olds before hiring me for some reason. Only thing I can guess is they know a 16 year old could turn that job into his career, whereas someone like me who is qualified in many fields, will only work there until better work comes along.

So basically, this is what I am needing help with. This month, August, my mother had to dig into her house payment for cat/dog food, her own food, cigarettes (i know, I've tried to get her to stop), fuel, and many other things. It's only halfway through the month and both of us are completely broke and both fear losing the house.

So any help, whether it be $1 or more, will be much, much appreciated. Even if the donator has some sort of volunteer work that they need some sort of help with, I'd be very glad to help.

Im a 23 year old father to my baby son and husband to my beautiful wife. We have been together for four years and recently had a baby boy come into our lives. Ive been on my own since 13 ive never met my father as he cheated on my mom when i was a baby and they went through a divorce. It always stuck with my mom and she lost interest in a lot of things and was depressed She abandoned me when i was about 13 and started dating a drug dealer in modesto i moved in with some of my friends and did the best to raise myself i did a lot of bad things when i was younger i had no role models and did whatever i could to survive and i never got to experience a lot of things like sports baseball football i didnt have money for equipment and stuff and no time i was always busy trying to get money for clothes i used to eat our schools one dollar lunch everyday. By the time i was 18 i met the girl of my dreams at a local movie theater she was from the philipines and was petitioned by her family and was staying with a local governement housing at the time. I started turning my life around for the positive and learned a few trades and took a few classes and workshops for building. at 19 i was working as an assistant to a private contractor i learned everything i needed to know and by the time of 20 i was doing private work myself and at 21 i got my first house with the luck of a friend who worked as a realator. We used to live in the central valley Fresno Ca to be exact and we owned a two bedroom one bath house. We had one truck was a Chevy pickup 1500 i used for work and our family car it was paid off. The economy hit hard in the central valley and many contractors went out of work and the prices of homes dropped and our home was foreclosed as we couldnt make the payment and we lost everything. We remained positive with all the negative that happened and we were homeless for a while we sleeped at a church while selling what little furniture we had from our house and save. At the time my wife was pregnant and we were ready to start our family and everything went wrong. We did what was right kept our baby and after talking we moved to the central coast there was no opportunity in the central valley as a lot of businesses went down and everything was going bad. We moved to another one of the churches branches so that i could get on my feet over in Monterey. I quickly got a job as a Server at a private restaurant after applying for many jobs i dont make much and after a few months our baby was born at this time we were able to get a one room studio its very small but rent is so expensive $750 my number one priority is my son and providing i work three days at the restaurant and on my days off i offer services on craigslist to help fix computers car detailing and early mornings i get up at 6am and go to the local home depot and look for work lots of builders go there and sometimes they need extra help. Unfortunately im younger and rarely get picked compared to older because they dont think im experienced i was lucky to get a few jobs though as side work past few months. My wife stays home and cares for the baby since we have no family to help out she cant work at this time. Im doing my best to provide we have no tv no internet no computer nothing except a bed crib a few cooking supplies and a fridge ironing board and iron but were content. But sometimes work is slow and we had no money for food and we have gone to local shelters for food. We mostely eat rice and pastas since its cheap. We only buy expensive foods for the baby and only have cell phones. I had to sell my truck a while back and have recently got an old small honda i cant even afford to put tires on at this time. Im doing my best and taking day to day with the hope something good will happenen. Work is slow and i have no family at all and my wifes family is very poor in the philipines. I did my best to sumarize my life and try to prove i am a real person in a real situation and im in need at this time. Any and everything helps. My family thanks you.

Hello. My name is Allison. I'm 44.
My father was a schizophrenic my mother was a 1950's mom.
This was back in the early 1970's when people didn't know much about schizophrenia. The drugs made my dad really sick and he didn't want to take them. My mother, being from her generation, was ill prepared to deal with this kind of situation.
When I was 8 we moved to Woodstock, NY on my father's whim. Dad wouldn't work, so my Mom has to. I also have an older brother, Mitchell, who definitely picked up the mentally ill gene at an early age. After a time my Dad became really violent. He asked us all the time if we were afraid of him, but we were all too frightened to tell him "yes". my brother moved into a boy's shelter in town. He was 13 at the time. My brother got into lot's of fights. The night after the first time my father hit her, my Mom moved into a close-by seedy apartment to keep an eye on us kids, but my Dad wouldn't let her near us.
I was Daddy's princess which for some reason still makes me happy to this day. Being alone with him was a psychodelic nightmare. My Father told me that I was the Messiah(we're Jewish) returned to bring peace to the world. My Father said we would find the garden of Eden. I saw a lot of things that I'm sure couldn't possibly exist, but still think they were real.
It's difficult to explain what it's like to live with a schizophrenic. The person can be quite docile and then, on the drop of a dime, become a hideously violent person.
My father never physically hurt me, like he did my brother and my Mom. Nor did he ever molest me. my Dad did make me live in his mind like a cult makes you part of the group mind.
Eventually my Mother kidnapped me during the middle of the day from my elemenatarly school. She had got a legal separation from my Dad. He saw her car parked at a motel that night and kicked the door down. He asked me if I wanted to go with him or stay with her. I was 9 at the time, it seemed that the right thing to do was to go with my Mom, and my Dad agreed to let me go.
My Dad had visitation rights every weekend. He didn't show up the first weekend. We waited and waited.
The next weekend I slept in, not expecting him. Then, of course, he arrived. I knew it was going to be a bad deal.
The first thing my Dad did was try and kill me. He kept saying over and over, "why don't you love me!? why don't you love me!?" He was driving so fast and i was too small to see over the dash. He said, "if you don't love me I'm going to hit that tree and kill both of us!" I knew he meant it. We were going very fast but I got the car door opened and was going to jump it. He pulled the car door closed. I screamed, "Okay, I love you, I love you, I love you." and he slowed the car down.
We went to go have something to eat at some diner. We got back in the car and I promptly fell asleep and woke up in VIRGINIA.
Dad enrolled me in public school. I told the principle what was happening. The principle called my mother and she came with her father. The law at the time was if the kid was with you in a state, that kid was yours. But my Dad again did give me the choice to stay with him or go with my mother, and I chose my Mother.
At some point we moved down to Florida. My Dad was taking his meds so my Mom allowed him to follow us. Things went bad quickly and Mom called him from my Grandma's house around the street and told him to leave. When it was my turn to talk to him he asked me if I wanted him to leave to and I said "yes". He cursed me and said that he wished the same thing that happened to him would happen to me, and I'm not altogether sure it hasn't.
I've never really known how to relate to other people except tp people that are a lot like me. I'm being treated as bi-polar, but I have Boderline-Personality-Disorder and Post-Traumatic-Syndrome. I've taken classes that have helped me deall with sciety better. But the meds don't work so well. I have panic attacks being around people and hearing loud noises, which is at most jobs. I have trouble sleeping.
That was the last time I ever spoke to my Dad. He committed suicide a week later. My brother lives on the streets in Miami. And my Mom remarried somebody that is the exact opposite of my Dad.

I don't normally get involved in something like this but the person that
is in need is a very good friend of mine from England. So I am asking
for your help to raise some money to go towards a heart operation.
This person is currently in the hospital so time is of the essence.

Over there, their healthcare system is pretty much good for those that
live in the right postcode of the Country. Unfortunately, my friend does
not. Therefore, this operation that he needs to have done, has to be
paid for up front.

While the amount there in England is 75,000 pounds, here in the USA,
that equals $123,000.

As you can see it's no small deal, but I think the important thing is
that people feel good when they something to someone whose life depends

No one should be told they have to die because they live in the wrong
postcode, especially at the age of 47. He's really a great guy and would
give you the shirt off his back. But he is a very private person. His
Brother in England has been keeping me informed and he is the original

operation. So while he is asking friends in his country, I am asking
friends in the USA and from other countries that I know.

I know things are tough all over and we have our obligations to meet,

Yes, the medical situation is strange, it was, and should still be an
amazing health care system. Everyone pays into it through their taxes,
and then you get free health care, operation, medicines etc.

Trouble is, they are now realizing that the NHS as we call it, national
health service, is a bottomless pit, the more money the government throw
in, the more they can. It will always use whatever funds it has, and
they don't like it.

So now they are limiting some of the more expensive treatment and
medicines. Hence the postcode lottery. If you live in the wrong
postcode, you don't get the surgery.

The heart problem, is a basically a defect that he had from birth, a lot
of people don't know they have a problem, until one day they drop down
dead, and by then obviously its too late. In fact, usually people
don't even get to his age of 47. (I know he's not really old or
anything, that is just what the experts say!).

The problem is, in his case is that instead of just being a birth
defect, there is also a family history of heart problems and added to
this, the fact that the defect has been very slowly getting worse.
Already having one heart surgery done about 4 years ago, it didn't last.

To do the full op privately would cost over £75000, including the
follow-up care. Where as I'd be happy with just the injections, and
possibly a new, better, icd being fitted. That would be a lot cheaper,
and while wouldn't be a proper fix, it would remove the risk of sudden
death. I guess all will be revealed eventually as to what they are
planning

As for what has to be done, and the exact name of the condition, I am
not sure of the medical terms. The injections you were talking about,
are not stem cells nor are they clinical trials. They are to help
restructure part of the heart, some parts are over grown, and need to be
reduced in size, this can be done through through a series of controlled
injections, that will kill off specific parts of the tissue, thus
reducing its size, enabling the chambers to hold more blood, and for the
heart to be less restricted in its movement.

Another part of the procedure, is a kind of re-wiring of the heart. The
electric pulse, runs around the heart in a particular way, causing it to
beat. But in his case, the pulses are not traveling on the routes they
should be, and this needs to be corrected.
By performing these two sets of procedures, he would not be totally
cured, BUT, he would be stable, not have constant chest pains, and the
risk of sudden death syndrome, would be drastically reduced!

This has got to be the most humbling, humiliating experience ever. I just spent days creating a free website, not even knowing a site like this existed...Arrgghh!!!! Story of my life! I figure if I'm going to ask total strangers for help, they have a right to know a little (or a lot!) about who they are helping. We are a family of 4 (plus our little Mini Daschund, who we'll call "Puppers" for the sake of privacy!) that have fallen on really hard times. We are not looking for hand outs; we are looking for a hand up! If you think it's not seriously earth shattering to realize that the best and only hope you have left is to air your dirty laundry to the world, and hope someone shows up with some detergent, then I really hope you never go through anything like this. I wouldn't wish our situation on my worst enemy on their worst day. It is truly soul crushing.

I am a wife and mother of 2 children, ages 9 and 21. Long and short of it, my oldest struggled A LOT. He was expelled from his school, and I forced him into the only other school that would take him, made him go every day until the time he got arrested. I picked up his diploma for him at his school, as he was in jail and couldn't go get it, but I am, to this day, glad that he has that diploma, and now, 4 years later, so is he. He was diagnosed as Bi-Polar while incarcerated, and mental can be so much tougher to deal with than physical. I'll always wish I had known the exact right point where his road changed to the one he travelled, and stopped it before it started. Now he is going to be a father himself, and all I can do is believe things will be ok (and wait anxiously to kiss all over my new Grandchild!!!!)

I got into trouble by with the IRS by filing taxes with my ex-husband for a couple of years. I didn't know any better, and though we were only married for a few years, and eventually had to part ways, his neglect to file or claim anything has haunted me for years. As I continued to work legitimately, his interest and penalties grew, and since the debt was considered uncollectible from him, the IRS opted to come after me. I was a single mother, unable to get child support, and losing my tax refunds to the IRS. When I reached 30, I met my current husband.

My husband has always been a hard worker, but he too has had his share of bad luck. He is a recovering alcoholic with 11 years of sobriety under his belt. His favorite catch phrase is "I'm the hardest working broke guy I know!", and it's so true. He is CONSTANTLY going; making phone calls, doing estimates, meeting with people to try to network and pick up more business. He does great work, and has had to really struggle to get his licenses, and maintain the insurances required to operate his business. He is in construction, and has had his own business (along with his partner) for about 5 years now. The past year has shown devastating loss. Basically, 9 out of 10 jobs have paid just enough to pay his 4 employees, and he and his partner end up taking home less than their employees. They are also having a hard time competing with "fly by night" construction companies who come in, promise the world for pennies on the dollar, and when they have problems a year later, the company is nowhere to be found. It's a constant battle to convince people that your workmanship and the warranty that backs it up, in addition to being a local contractor for 25+ years with a stellar reputation is worth it's weight in gold.

I am working at a really decent company now, and was thrilled to get my foot in the door. I wasn't there a month before the IRS decided to garnish my wages. Now, instead of the $500+ I would be taking home each week, I am bringing home a meager $123 per week. This has been our sole income for many weeks now, and after reviewing all of my paperwork, it appears the IRS feels I owe them in excess of $50,000!!!! This does NOT include the state taxes, which haven't caught up with me yet, but I'm sure they will. So, I have decided to stay working, even though unemployment would pay me more, because jobs are tough to come by. However, it's impossible trying to run a family by borrowing money from everyone we know, and no way to pay it back, because the money we bring in doesn't even pay the bills, the rent...it barely covers the groceries.

Can I add one more thing here? My husband, who's job is primarily getting up on a roof every day, was recently diagnosed with Vertigo. He can't drive right now, and even if jobs come in, he can't get on a roof anytime soon either. Reading through what I've written, I'm thinking to myself "I would SO think this is fake if I were reading it". I assure you, it's not. I'm not looking to bilk money from anyone, and I'm not promising anything to you in return. The only thing I AM promising is that you would honestly be helping a family in need. I know there are people worse off than us, and I thank GOD every day that I got to wake up in the morning, and that I have a family to love, and that loves me. I hope you never know how painful it is to tell your daughter that she can't go to gymnastics this time around because we don't have the money. I hope you never have to sleep on someones' couch with your child because your electricity is off, and you can't find anything valuable enough to pawn so you can pay it. I hope you never have to look in your husbands' eyes and see the pain and humiliation there because he feels he has failed your family. None of these things are things we asked to happen, but they all did. Could we have done anything differently? Sure. But who out there reading this right now has always chosen the right path? Who has NOT made errors along the way?

We are not looking to get rich. We are looking for a helping hand. We have always helped others when we have been able to, and are hoping there are others like us out there that feel the same. My primary goal is to collect enough to retain a tax attorney to help negotiate a settlement for me, so that I can finally contribute to my family, and take some pressure off of my husband. I am also hoping to pay off some utility bills we still owe, and March and Aprils' rent. That's it. Just looking to keep the little roof we rent over our heads. If we are able to get back on our feet, we'd like to pay it forward ourselves...one person, one family at a time.

I want to start off by saying God bless you for taking the time to read my post. Things are very bad for my family right now. My son has been sitting in jail for the past 7 months falsely accused of murder. I know that he did not do it. I know that I would be skeptical if I read a similar story, but please hear me out on this.
My son is a great man, a wonderful husband and father and would never do this. The police have made a horrible mistake accusing my son and have yet to realize it. We have my son's vehicle on camera in another town at the same exact time that the murder occured. We know it's my son's truck because of the distinct identifying marks on it, however, the camera did not capture a tag number. We are currently having the videos looked at by an expert in an effort to enhance them. He is being held on an eye witness that identified my son through a car mirror.
This witness is mistaken, and my whole family is paying for it. I come from a humble background and my son was the primary money maker in his marriage. His wife is a stay at home mother. Our funds have run out, and my son's lawyer and other bills need to be paid. He goes to court next month. Please, whatever you can spare, anything will help!
