Post a Beg Now!

College Student

Posted by wrought on 2012-05-21 16:58:16

I am entering my senior year of college. I have been working full-time throughout my college career to help support my family--my mother, who has been laid off and unable to find a job that pays as high as she needs, my sister and her daughter (my eight month old niece), who I also babysit whenever possible, and my boyfriend, who also lives with us. We all work as much as we can -- my mother works three jobs. We need assistance, to keep our home, to keep necessary hygienic products and food in our home, to pay college debt, etc. Absolutely anything will help.

Help me please..

Hi every one. Because of shame i have even changed my name, but i need to do this . I am from India. I never thought i will also do the same one day. well i dont have any option so here i am in front of you begging for just 10000 USD (Approx 519000 in INR).You might be thinking why i am here begging for just 10000 USD.

Let me introduce myself again.. i started my journey of life in 1985. Born in india in small lovely family of 3 members. My father and mother did there role in raising me and my sister and i love and respect them for that. Each penny they saved was spend on my sisters and my education. They took good care of us. With their money,i completed graduation in B.com and Masters in MBA. Now its my turn to look after them as they are entering there old-age.

I am qualified enough to get a job to take care of there dreams and there happiness. You might be thinking why I am begging. My quest to get a job in India ended with so many difficulties. I am planning to get a job in UAE. To get a job in UAE i will have to get a visiting visa and search for a job and then tranfer that visiting visa to a residence Visa by either re-entering the country or directly transferring it. The cost of travel and visiting UAE is too high. If 10000 people around the world lends me 1 USD I can get 10000 USD for my visit.

Please help me ...if it is needed i will return each penny of 10000USD once i get the job. Wishing happiness to every one in this world .. please help

Please, help us survive until the IRS Refund arrives?

Posted by BadTiming on 2011-12-15 02:58:24

I am submitting this request because we are in serious need of help. I know my story is long. I pray you will have the patience to read it through & consider my request.

I am a single mom of 2 sons; 1 grown & doing wonderfully in the world & the other just entering his teen years. I've raised both boys on my own, survived despite chronic poverty & worked very hard for the past 25 years to do so. I am an unusually-talented & tenaceous woman, having changed careers several times in order to assure that my boys were always properly taken care of. Since 1995, I've worked in positions where I was unsupervised & done well ethically in that type of independent environment. As a subcontracted cab driver for the past 5 years, I've worked 60+ hours a week consistently, without vacation or any other benefits. I've missed only 8 workdays in all that time: 3 days for illness & 5 days straight this past August to care for my mother while she died. I'll be happy to provide direct contact with the cab company owner, should you wish to verify this information.

Several things have changed for me in the past few weeks. I came across an opportunity to start my own business. I crave the day when my earnings are no longer confined to poverty levels & the majority of my waking hours dictated by the terms of a subcontracted position. At 49, I'm still young enough to start fresh again, during these last few years before my youngest son flies the coup. I'm already well-practiced at working on my own. It's finally time for me to do that & reap the rewards as well.

In the meantime, my demanding schedule caused me to be lax in filing tax papers for 2008 & 2009. So, the last week of October, I filed the 2008 returns through a local tax preparer. I've just completed the 2009 books & submitted those to the tax preparer 2 days ago. The importance of the tax filings is that I have a refund of $2000 coming to me from 2008. The tax preparer told me it would take 2 to 4 weeks to receive those funds. So I began preparations to become this region's very first fully-trained SmartPhone & Tablet Repair Tech. Being a frugal woman, I formulated a plan to use the tax refund to pay $395 for the 10 days training & startup business tools. My son & I can easily live off of the remaining money while I launch my business. And with the additional refund from 2009 pending in another 6 to 8 weeks, I will be well-set to get my business rolling.

With the business plan & pending refund in mind; & following a serious disagreement on matters of proper customer service; I gave the cab company 30 days written notice & finished my last day on November 6th. I left on good terms with an option to return. But the owner has since filled my position, so even if I returned immediately, the hours would be sparse. Plus, I could no longer be happy there, having to repeatedly apologize to my customers because the company owner habitually re-contracts drivers of poor character. Swearing at, name-calling & being generally rude to customers & co-workers is unacceptable behavior, in my code of ethics.

However, my tax refund has yet to materialize. I called the IRS just today & finally got some information on my refund status. I already phoned them just 2 weeks ago to correct a major error by the tax preparer. The kind young woman I spoke with today informed me of yet another major error by the tax preparer; & because of that error, it will now be another month before they send a refund to me!

So here I am, trying to keep the faith & maintain my patience, but stressing over unpaid bills. The first of the month has passed. I live in HUD subsidized housing, & my rent is only $110, but it was due by the 5th. I have never been late with my rent, but this month I had to practically beg for the apartment managers to be patient in getting the rent paid. There are also utility bills of nearly $200 due, & my prepaid phone was shut off for several days last week until a good friend paid that bill for me. I had faith in my tax preparer & was counting on having my refund by now to pay those bills. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with his service at this point.

I spent 2 weeks trying to get a 'payday' or personal loan. But because I was a subcontractor & now I'm unemployed, no one is willing to make such a loan. I even dedicated a full day last week to 14 fruitless hours straight online, just trying to click enough surveys to pay the $50 phone bill. I receive no child support or welfare benefits. Sadly for my son, Santa will not be arriving until well after Christmas. At this point, my income is 0.

So what I am asking for is just enough money to get us by until the tax refund arrives. I can reasonably make $750 stretch through to mid-January.

I am proud. It is hard for me to ask for this. But it is even harder to grovel to my landlords & the utility companies. And it was never my intent to risk us losing our home. I am deeply concerned that this may happen. The timing is simply bad for us not to have our refund yet. I wish my tax preparer had done a better job for me.

I have been blessed with great health & an optimistic outlook, despite all my life's trials. Others are not nearly so lucky & I am truly grateful for my blessings. I am also grateful to you for your consideration in this matter. Giving to others to help them improve their lives is indeed a noble endeavor. Bless you

Sexual Abuse Victim

Posted by stanfordgirl2013 on 2011-08-12 17:58:19

I am currently a student at one of the top universities in the world. However, I have not been able to focus entirely on my education due to an on going court case against my father, who was sexually/physically abusive during my high school years. He was caught on tape, so the court case is still in progress. However, PTSD/Anxiety/Depression and substance abuse has taken its toll on me. I spent a my freshman year of college in a mental health facility. Now, I'm entering into my junior year with over one year of sobriety under my belt. I attend an Ivy League school on a full scholarship; however, medical and living expenses are overwhelming as an independent student. I'd appreciate any and all donations. Thank you, and God bless.

Sincerely,
Bree

Keeping a roof

Posted by roofoverhead on 2011-08-06 06:58:16

This is difficult for me to write yet I must put ego aside and take a chance. I am a single parent of three children in NYC. Three years ago I had to leave my job because I did not have a degree. After much planning I went back to school to get my Bachelors. I designed my studies to get financial aid to cover not only my tuition but also my rent and utilities. But I also knew that I would have part time work to cover any lag. Unfortunately, as soon as I did this the financial collapse occurred severely curtailing my earning potential. Tuition was covered but rent was not every month. I struggled and ultimately fell behind on rent. However, after entering into a payment plan with my Landlord I fell behind due to loss of income. I broke the agreement and am now forced to pay the entire arrears. My rental situation is so severe now that I am facing eviction by mid August. I owe $5500. I have gone to many of the city agencies to get my arrears taken care of and still hope to do so. However, I only have two weeks to secure this and I am not certain. I know that If I can raise at least half that amount I can get one of the organizations to match that amount. I have good kids and they don't need the trauma or deserve to be displaced in this manner. Particularly after all they have been through. My primary objective is to show them that I can follow through with school and keep a roof over their heads. The irony is that I will be finished with school in a few months. I also have work now and for the foreseeable future. My only issue is that I cannot pay the massive arrears that is now totally due. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I will give any information requested.

How does $36000 pay for $57000?

Posted by Lencias on 2011-02-04 20:58:58

My family's annual income is $36000. My college's cost of attendance, according to the statement I'm looking at right now, is about $57000.

Simple math, right?

For reasons that remain personal, I am ineligible for financial aid (no, I am not an undocumented immigrant if that's what you were thinking), leaving my parents to pay for the entirety of my college education. But as you can tell, the cost of attending my college is about 1.6x my family's annual income.

Kind of a big problem.

I'm ineligible for pretty much every sort of financial aid, including loans (no rich co-signer). I'm entering every scholarship competition I can, but even those aren't easy to win. I'm also doing my best to keep grades up to be eligible for merit scholarships.

So here I am, asking you to help out. I believe in public good (very much a follower of Locke), and any few dollars you can send my way would be highly appreciated. Anything you can do to help take my mind off money problems in the slightest would be great and help me focus on academics and enjoying college better.

Thanks everyone.

Single Parent in Need

I am reaching out in sheer desperation as I am a single parent of two boys facing eviction. I have been looking for permanent employment for over a year, but only landing a few temporary opportunities and an odd job or two. My last assignment ended in August and I have been searching for employment with no avail to date. Having gaps in income has sent me spiraling in a severe financial deficit.
Imaging being faced with losing it all and struggling to maintain a positive outlook as the head of household; it's been extremely tough. Within the past two months since my last assignment, my vehicle was taken due to repossession, and I have found myself two months behind in rent.
Last Thursday, I received notice for rent court that is a warrant for repossession of the property.
I am frantic, afraid, and worried, because my children have always known their own home. There has been a barrage of questions entering my mind concerning, where we would sleep, if we were ultimately evicted. Would we sleep in a shelter, park bench, or hostile? Would we be safe? Would we be warm?
My two boys are great children, just how would eviction, affect them?
For these reasons, I am pleading for help to save my family. I have never considered doing anything of this sort, but at present, I will do whatever it takes to save our home.
If there is anyone out there that would find it in their heart to help a struggling family, I would be graciously accept donations of any amount. I currently owe my rental company a total of $2,200.55.
Additionally, I am still in desperate need of permanent income. I have over 10 years of administrative office and executive level assistant experience. If anyone has any information regarding permanent employment ,I can provide my resume that lists my work history and skill set. I am seeking employment in the UK. All comments and opportunities can be forwarded via email at edward.gat65@gmail.com.
Thank you in advance for taking time and consideration!
