Posted by glhunt68 on 2012-05-11 19:58:54

i have experienced a major loss of income and an increased living expense and have fallen behind on my bills so bad that i can not even dream of a future. i know what i need to do, i am determined to do it but i am unable to afford the cuurrent bills and find it difficult to even dream of fulfilling my plans for a secure future for myself and my children. my plan is to catch up on the current bills, get out of the car loan that i currently have and purchase a vehicle that has less expensive payments, repair my credit,my taxes and enroll in courses for real estate and/or bookkeeping. i have 2 children who have suffered and lost out on so much due to the finances, the job requirements and insecurity. i really need help to follow through and i promise to pay it forward when i am able. i will appreciate any help i can get and will keep all donors posted on the progress if they are interested. i have worked hard my whole life and have never caught a lucky break. unfortunately i have chosen a career that requires skills that i either do not have or that i am getting too old for. i have been in this business since i left home at 17 and have worked in every facet of the business but the job i am best at is for younger people and i am quickly approaching the age where i will no longer be able to comprete or will find employment less likely. i am looking for a better life. an easier life and the opportunities that i deserve but i am unable to obtain in my current situation, job and finances. please help me. i need approximatly $15-20000 but anything will help , be very appreciated and well invested. thank you

Can't use FAFSA, Grants, or Federal Monies

Posted by Future-Engineer on 2012-04-24 23:58:19

Background:

I was born in Argentina, but have lived in Texas since I was 5. I had no say in it; my parents decided that’s what was best for me since Buenos Aires was so crime-ridden. I graduated high school like normal kids, went to a community college right afterwards, and worked part time to cover its costs. I got an Associate’s in Science (Nursing) and then dropped out since I couldn't afford to attend a university nor decide on a major. My GPA was a 3.4 at the time.

I'm now 25, working full time (Geek Squad, can’t do much with an associate’s), studying electrical engineering, married to my high school sweetheart, and have my goals set! I just have one thing holding me back...MONEY. Since I backtracked when I changed majors, I had a few sophomore classes to take. I'm finishing them at the same community college, and I'm registered for the Fall semester at the University of Texas at Dallas (Junior level courses). I have gotten nothing but As since I've been back!

Why I Need Your Help:

Now, you may be wondering, why can't I use FAFSA? Well, I recently obtained my permanent residence. That was a big roadblock growing up. One of the agreements I had with our nation was that I would not use federal funds (welfare, food stamps, grants, FAFSA, etc) for the next 10 years. I work full time and attend as many classes as I can per semester; I have no time for lollygagging.

Sallie Mae can only loan me so much, and banks nowadays make it very difficult to borrow from for school. All the scholarships I’ve looked for require either citizenship or full time enrollment, neither of which I am. (Can’t enroll full time because I need to work full-time to make ends meet) My father is a construction worker and I don’t know my mom, she left us when I was 7. I just sold my laptop on eBay and made myself a cheap one from recycled parts. I've tried getting internships, but I'm not deep enough into my career to be eligible yet. Nearby family members don’t have any spare cash, and don’t make enough to co-sign a loan for me….So I’m here, hoping some kind strangers can help me out.

I am a hard working student, good Samaritan, bilingual, a jokester, drug-free, do calculus in my head, pay taxes, 740 credit score, and drive a broken down Pontiac. My only goal right now is to finish school with flying colors as soon as possible; just need this financial roadblock to meet a wrecking ball.

Will you help me smash it down?

Trying to Make it Through a Rough Patch

Please help me out... I need almost $4000 before the end of the month.
Let me give you the short version of a very long story... after finally leaving my cheating husband I finally decided to go back to school. I moved to San Diego in order to attend UCSD. I was able to secure a partial scholarship which covers most of my tuition and was able to secure loans to help with most of the rest of the costs. I assumed I would quickly be able to find a job and help pay for my living costs and other expenses... and I had some money saved up. Things didn't go as planned... I went through my savings and I just barely found a job that pays a decent wage while working around my school schedule. But now that I have a job my car has been repossessed so I have no way to get to my job. I need to pay the amount owed to get my car back so I can work. My phone is about to be cut because I haven't paid my phone bill in two months. I owe my roommate one months rent and I owe the school for the books I bought for this quarter... so I won't be able to enroll until I pay for the books I owe.
Please help me get through this hard time, so I can continue to go to school I feel like if I can make it over this hump I can do the rest myself.
Thank you for any help and prayers... it's all very much appreciated.

I'm asking for an angel to help in my re-enrollment

Posted by Soleigh on 2012-02-17 00:58:09

I have never asked for help but after numerous interviews extensive hours of submitting my resumes online. My parents who can't help me with my situation do not live in the same state as I do and they are constantly helping me because no matter what I keep trying to feed my children by standing in line at churches for food donations. In November I had to withdrawl from school temporarly because I lost internet connection due to not having money which I was not able to finish my degree in completing 6 credits to graduate. Today I called to re-enroll and I was told that I have to pay $2,400.00 even and then I'm able to re-enroll and finish my two classes to recieve my degree. My parents have helped with my bills but they are not able to help me with my tuition. So I have searched everywhere and now I'm left to ask the public for help. My major is criminal justice and I really want to finish because I'm so close and then just hopefully I will be able to get a job so then I don't have to keep going to charities to get food but rather give back. I already try and give back by giving away things that I no longer need such as clothes that my children outgrow. The suppor I get for my children all goes to my rent which everything else is included which I thank God for that. So please please any donation will help and I promise to give back by paying it forward and those that know me know that I'm just that kind of person who has always given back. Just today I still have yet to find work and I'm so hopeful that once my degree is completed I will be able to find work. Again any type of donation to reach $2,400.00 exact will help me to be re-enrolled back into school. Thank you so very much. GB always!

I really appreciate you taking the time to read this. I know it's nothing new, but I'm praying that someone will have the heart & resources to help me. I recently made a move to another state so that I can enroll in college. I've never had a criminal record, I've never taken drugs, I don't smoke, etc. So you wouldn't have to worry about a donation going towards something that isn't beneficial. Next week my rent, car payment, and insurance is due and I don't have the means to cover $900 worth of bills. Yes, I'm working 2 jobs and going to school. However, with gas prices being how they are, the job locations eat half the paycheck just in itself. Because of this, I AM currently seeking new employment. I'm down to my last $50 trying to pay for gas, and I'm setting aside $10 for food. It's been 3 days since I've had a full meal. Thank-goodness we can survive off of water...

Please, please, please....if you can help me out in any way, it would be SO much appreciated. You have no idea. Thank you JUST for reading this regardless if you give me a donation or not.

woman needs ur help to finish school & get two jobs

Posted by aprettywoman1 on 2012-02-09 10:58:13

I am a single 50 year old woman. I have raised two natural born boys and three adopted boys. I have raised these children as a single woman and at times worked two jobs. I have received a scholarship for school but due to illness, I currently need seven classes to complete my education. I am currently on disability but would like to earn my own way of income. I am asking for help to complete my goal of graduating from college. In my family I would be the first to graduate from college. In fact, my son has graduated from college (while serving our country, this was the only way we could afford his education) before I have finished school. The degree I am trying to obtain is a BS in Biology, BS in Forensic Science and a minor in Chemistry. I am willing to work a salary earning job (which I am also trying to obtain while I continue my education. In order to do this, I plan to enroll in the Organic Chemistry course of three quarters and the Physic course of three quarters and one DNA processing course of one quarter. The cost to complete this goal totals $15,000.00 (should the amount either increase or decrease, I shall update this information). I intend to obtain a salary earning job in order to support myself during this time. As you can see, we are a family that is willing to work hard to succeed and give back once again. I am not asking you for a hand out but a hand up. I am a woman who has had to sacrifice in my past in order to give my children the best I could. I am a diabetic with Fibromyalgia. I have gastro paresis and have been in and out of the hospital at least every three weeks. I have nerve damage to the nerve in my stomach. I have had to leave school for the last year and a half. I started the year of 2011 taking twenty different medications and ended 2011 only taking seven medications now. I have worked hard this last year and intend to be more aggressive in 2012. I believe that each day gives a person a chance to take one step forward and one step is still a forward motion. I realize there are days that one step seems impossible, but I think it is up to me to take that step. I appreciate the advice along the way, but it is my path to walk. I have come to the conclusion that sometimes we need to reach out to others. I am a giver and I feel uncomfortable about asking for help then it occurred to me that maybe some of those people I gave to have been waiting for an opportunity to give back. I believe that we may not be able to give back to that person because of death. You can still give back to the universe and I know I am part of that universe. Please take a minute to give. In order to assist me to achieve my goals, you can donate to a secure pay pal account under the name of: womanneedsurhelp. Contact me at: womanneedsurhelp@hotmail.com. I am interested in communicating with you if you have any questions. I believe it all starts with a conversation whether in person, electronically, or anonymously. I fully understand you are interested but would like more information, which I am happy to give.

I don't have any money left and I need investments for my plans to work faster... :(

The cause of my loss of funds is because my Mom and Dad got separated.

Single mother w disabled baby!!!!!!!!

Posted by StudentMe on 2011-08-25 22:58:27

I am a single mother of 2. I have a 2 y/o and a 8 month old baby who spent the first 5 months of his life in the hospital with every dr telling me he would NEVER live!! I never gave up and he did come home but has severe disabilities. Doctors nor the state will sign off on me to work but 15 hours a week and no place will hire someone with that schedule. The baby needs round the clock care. I was able to enroll and was accepted into school and started 2 days ago to get my RN degree!! I am only allowed to go to school when the baby is at his special health care day care. Our income is based on his SSI, FS, and TANIF!! That is not enough to live off of!! I have tried MANY other sources but either they are fake or they cant help me because I do not have a job! WOW!! I lost my car because I could not afford to pay for it the baby was born with all these rules. I need help financialy and to get a car!! I know you dont know me but please if you can help in any way it would never be forgotten and would be very much appreciated and help me better my life for my children!!
Thank you for your time and consideration!!

what else can go wrong??

Posted by savvyskyy on 2011-08-06 21:58:32

First, let me thenk you for taking the time to read. I have 2 small children. Their father has a new girlfriend who already gave birth and one on the way. Oh- didn't mention I am 45 years old! Well, this man ruined my life! I left him, got it together just to be laid off from my job. After one year on unemployment I am now being evicted, have the irs after me for claiming EIC (and can't provide whatever proof i need for them) filed for child support and he claims he has no job. I am asking for some help to start over. I need a car, a job, enroll my daughter in school ( don't know where i am living yet) ANY help would be appreciated!!!
My mom has kicked me out due to her being unemployed and unable to support me, and has given custody to my grandma who has alzheimers and is also unemployed.. She gets a social security check every month but most of the time she either loses it before she gets it cashed, or after she cashes it, she loses the money... I can't live in their house because it's falling apart and there's mold all in the house because they can't keep up with the maintenance of the house, and I have asthma. I don't have any other family to ask for help, and all I want is to finish high school and somehow get into college. I was a straight A student before my mom kicked me out and school starts here in a little over a week. I also had to enroll in school as homeless because I don't currently have an established residence, and my grandma can't even get up to the school to sign my paperwork. So they had to put me down as homeless so I could sign my own papers. I have no money to even buy basic school supplies like pens and paper, so any donations would help A LOT. I'm only seventeen years old and shouldn't have to be dealing with all this on my own, its too much. I've never asked for much of anything from anyone, and all I'm asking for now is money for school needs... Please help.

Can You Spare A Penny?

Posted by rachelmiller15 on 2011-07-17 17:58:53

My name is Rachel, and I will be a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill next year.

I plan on a pre-med course of study, and I ultimately want to become a neurosurgeon. I decided on this path for my life after a 6 year old buddy of mine died from a terminal brain tumor. I was outraged that modern medicine had nothing to offer her, and I decided to dedicate my life to changing the fate of other kids in her situation.

I received a $634 grant from UNC for financial aid, and that's it.

I estimate that I have to come up with about $9000 each semester in order to pay for books, travel, food, tuition, and room/board.

I have a part-time, minimum wage job at a local restaurant, but a majority of that money goes towards gas and insurance for my car.

So here's my plan: a penny is nothing. Worthless; what can you buy with a penny? Millions and millions of people visit Begslist every day, and millions of Begslist users have a penny they could spare.

The good news is, I don't even need millions of pennies. I only need 900,000 pennies a semester!

If requested, I can provide proof of my acceptance letter and intent to enroll at Chapel Hill.

Do you believe in true love? I do, and I may always believe if bestowed the proper provisions.

She was the only thing that saved me from a life of crime and possibly worse, and she came all the way from Argentina to do so. I was, as I am now, a poor student in Colorado and a "lucky bum" who finally got a break by love finding him. Currently I study foreign language, ie; Spanish, French, German, Russian, and Latin. As impressively smart as one would assume i'd have to be to study so many languages at once, to the contrary I was terribly stupid where it matters most, which is at romance. In short because of being a total " fat -head" and ingrate, I let her get on a plane out of my life without saying goodbye. Its been over a year.

Since then, my nights have been like torture without her, and each new romantic fling has been as hollow and meaningless as the preceding. The good news is however, that her and I have keep frequent contact via SKYPE.COM video calls.(thank God 4 skype!) She is in the same position as I am, realizing that she too cannot find closure to our love, and therefore we have decided that we want to be together, except forever this time. So I decided to move to Buenos Aires, Argentina indefinitely to be with the only girl for me.

However it is not enough for me to just get a plane ticket and rush over to South America and live happily ever after, I will also need a job, as well as a room or a hostel to stay in while I job hunt. ( Quite frankly, I am not trying to be unemployed, broke, and living in her mother's house in S. America, no thanks!) Therefore I am also hoping to earn/receive enough money to enroll in a program called ITTO or (International Teachers Training Organization) in Guadalajara, Mexico to receive my license to teach English as a second language(TESL) before going to live in Buenos Aires.

Target date you ask? I am trying to get out of here by early september or october of 2011. As it stands I am basically homeless, out of school for vacation, (meaning no financial aid) and have been doing temporary labor jobs which barely keeps me fed on the weekly basis, let alone permit me to save money for the provisions necessary to go on this life altering journey to find the truth of true love.

All together, I estimate with the cost of a round trip ticket to Argentina ( round trip, because non- citizens are not permitted with one way tickets) as well as the cost of the fore mentioned ITTO course and travel to and from Mexico from Colorado, plus the survival money I will need once ( god willing) I arrived in B's A's, I stand in a financial need of about $5,000.00 or slightly more.

I realize there are people with more important matters that can use money, and I truly hope they receive charity just as I would like to. However this is a petition for those who understand what it is like to let the perfect one get away and could do little or nothing about it, like a child who drops their ice cream off the cone and sadly watches as it melts on the side walk. By donating to this cause, you can be the "adult" who walks up to that kid, fumbles in his pocket for some spare change to present that poor kid with a new ice cream that takes the tears from their eyes. She is my ice cream, and I don't want another flavor for my whole life. You can help make this possible, by aiding me with an airline ticket, or even check out the ITTO website and if you feel generous enough and pay the tuition of the program. I would be more than happy to correspond with each and every donor to update you on this story with letters and even pictures of what became of your generosity.

I'd like to thank any donors in advance, as well as any one who took the time to read my story and had it in their heart to give but wasn't able. Together we can prove that there is a such things as second chances at a good thing, chivalry is certainly not dead, and love stories aren't just for the story books, in fact...it can happen to you!

Thanks and warm regards,

James McDonald

I went into the hospital and received a W in the last class at my old university, I owe 359.00, and well I recently was in the hospital again for emergency Gallbladder removal, so I missed 3 weeks of work... I am trying to enroll at a new university and have been accepted, however they need my official transcript for me to register for classes, and well they are filling up fast and I have NO way of making the money I so really need. Posted by TinaLynnLove on 2011-06-03 12:58:53

I've been out of school for nearly 10 years. I went to college and was very young and stupid I might add. I did not take my education seriously. The fruits of my decisions are unfolding as I'm unemployed and barely able to land a good job. I've put in applications everywhere. I decided to go back to school for nursing but when I was in school I incurred a debt of nearly 1,000. I managed to get most of it down. I now owe 340.00. This would have to be cleared before I can enroll. I plan on enrolling this fall for nursing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Need Money for School-URGENT-PLEASE

Posted by jparker2 on 2011-06-02 15:58:37

I need to pay 10,000 on my school tuition in order to enroll for this coming fall semester. I am employed as a nanny so my money is not taxed or verifiable. My school is not willing to divide my payments into monthly or semester plans and will not allow me to enroll unless I pay the lump sum at the beginning of the year. I do not want to take out student loans because I already will have the money to pay the tuition and do no want to wait until graduation to pay it off. I just want the 10,000 on a short term basis, and will begin paying as soon as the loan is given. I will give the 10,000 directly to my school and can pay you 1,500 per month beginning with the month the loan is given and each month after until it is paid. This is a one time situation because I do not qualify for federal aid due to my parent's income and have chosen to enroll in school. No one in my family has the money to pay it and no bank will loan to me because they can't verify my income. But it's there and I will pay you back immediately! Thank you so much!

Young Woman Looking For Help

Posted by yoursmilexox on 2011-04-23 20:58:26

I'm a 21-year-old female living on my own. I recently lost my job and am planning to enroll in school. I have managed to get away from the life my family led as drug users. I was basically forced to live out of cars and on the streets because of their decisions and actions. I myself have never used drugs and was able to get away from that lifestyle and get a place of my own. Since I've lost my job, I am now behind on my rent. My worst fear is living back on the streets again. I'm trying desperately to find another job and have yet to find anything; it makes it very hard when I have no car or phone. I have been informed by my rental office that they will start an eviction process soon if I'm not able to pay my back rent. If anyone could please help me in any way, I would be eternally grateful. I want to be able to get into school and make a life of happiness, but without a home/job, I don't know that it will be possible. Thank you so much for anything anyone can do..

A year of setbacks :(

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm really needing help. I do have a job, but I have been out of work with family medical leave for about 3 months due to being diagnosed as bipolar. I haven't told my fiance because I'm scared he won't understand. Life seems to be crashing down on me and all of our bills are due at once. I won't be able to afford to enroll in classes next semester and pay for my half of the mortgage. The monetary issues make me even more manic and depressed on top of what is already going on in my mind. Oh well.....
My name is Ephraim Ntlamo (18) I’m a Zimbabwean national living in Cape- Town. I came to South Africa on my own in 2008 as a political refugee; I didn’t know anybody here. This situation lead me to living on the streets of Cape Town for months, I was very discouraged by my situation of living under the bridge, but never lost the hope that one day I will be in school again.
In fact being far away from home, missing the family together with being homeless at the same time can be very stressful that the temptation of using substances to stay calm can be very high, however because I had a dream to be a educated man one day, I resisted all this and kept on believing in myself that one day I shall overcome all of these obstacles and enroll into school again. The best platform to reconstruct my life towards achieving my childhood dream of becoming an electrical engineer, these experiences have however made me have interest in human rights law, so I will be studying that after high school.

Thanks to well wisher sponsors today I have a place to call home and I’m attending school. Those are big steps towards achieving my goals in life. I recently applied to attend grade 11at Premiere collage and got accepted; Premiere collage is rated among the best private collages schools in Western Cape. The academic pass rate isn’t bad.

The fee’s are [R 15,000] plus the once off registration fee of R1500 I do not have the money however I’m looking for small sponsorships towards my fees

There are various reasons why I want to be student at this school. Firstly, like I mentioned before it’s a great school to get the best education that prepares someone for the world outside there.

In 2009 formed a soccer team of unaccompanied refugee children from all over Africa living here in Cape Town; the purpose of the formation of this team is for educational purposes. The idea is for us refugee children not to isolate ourselves from South Africans; instead we want to be part of the solution to issues like xenophobia, racism, and any sort of discrimination. See www.refugee6foundation.org. Most importantly this refugee team serves to persuade other refugee children to consider education as the only alternative way to success. We also discuss about issues like HIV/AIDS. At this stage the idea had worked very well: Few boys have abandoned their labour jobs in vine yards farms and they are looking forward to starting attending school this year as well.

For me attending Premier Collage I believe will encourage them to believe that nothing is impossible in life and this step will also enable me to persuade as many other refugee children as I can to quit their labour jobs and go back to school. This will help them to be confident and have the realization that everything is possible in life.

Lastly I’m in the middle of writing my book to be about my life experiences, I therefore think that attending this school because of its great diverse culture will help me write a successful book that might change lives of many youth on the way they view the world. Thank you for considering helping me put together the R 15000 together!

I want to get training in the computer field at my local community college so I can return to work after living on disability since 1992. I have suffered from PTSD and bipolar depression, but my condition is stable now. There are no educational financial resources available for me since I already have a BA degree in liberal arts (which has not helped me in the job market). I would like to enroll the next semester in a computer programming certification program, but I do not have the $800 for tuition and fees. Anyone interested in helping someone trying to help themself be able to get a job is welcome to donate to my cause.
