Greetings, my family was recently victimized by a terrible theft. My mother and sister had all of their jewelry taken. Much of it had sentimental value class rings, family heirlooms, etc. There were also a number of electronics taken, some with family photos. I also lost a number of things. I was saving up money but that's gone and now it seems like a nightmare. But mostly I feel awful for my mother and sister. My name is Matt and I live in the west suburbs of Chicago. I am currently unemployed and finding it difficult to find even the most basic, menial job in this economy. While I have no felony convictions or anything that would bar employment, I am forced to rely on public transportation to get around at this time.

I am a recovering addict and I have been on methadone treatment for almost 5 years. I am on a low dose and I am having difficulty paying for my medication. I would like to be able to go to the clinic once a week instead of 5 times a week. This is hurting my ability to find work because I spend 3-4 hours on the bus going to the clinic.

Both my father and I have been having very tough times, I am bi-polar but haven't had issues of any kind in quite a while. First I want to thank everyone how reads the posting. This is a second career. My first career was in electronics, which I liked, however jobs in this industry have nearly disappered. I dont expect many jobs to open up soon.

This is an oppertunity for me to persue another career path in medicine. While in school and working in the indusrty I would those that are either training for emt working as, and I allways felt a little envious. I would love to have a career that helps save lives. I have tried police department, but I know I would be happier as an EMT.

The school I found is fast paced and at part time I can compleate the training in less than 14 weeks. This program would cost $2500 not including fees, texbooks, and supplies. I am needing help with the tuition. I hope I can either get it paid in full or most. I cant afford to pay it myself since I do have two kids allready, and working as a bartender. I do hope I can recieve some assistance for this. I would be happy forward any of the litterature in reguards to curriculum and fees this school has. This can even be a loan

I am a 42-year-old man with wife and daughter, and I would like to start my own business. I currently live in a rural ohio community where full-time work can be very scarce. I recently met the woman of my dreams, accidentally...I wanted a penpal, so that I could practice my Russian (I studied it while in the army) and ended up meeting a wonderful woman. She has no interest in leaving Russia, aside from visiting occasionally (on business - she's an air stewardess) so that means I'm going there. I still don't have my degree, but would like to get my certification to teach English as a second language, but there is no institution in the US, which gives certification in TESEL or a CELTA and is covered by the G.I. Bill.

I have 24,000 of student debt already, and can barely make ends meet. I'm able to save approximately $100 a month, and I'll need about $3,000 in total for the certification. I sold pretty much everything that I don't need (electronics, games, etc...) and came up with about $1100...So that leaves $1,900 still. Any help would be amazing, I love this woman with all of my heart.

I honestly need help this holiday. My apartment was broken into this week and my children's Christmas presents were stolen. I have two children, ages 4 and 6. Among the other things stolen were misc. electronics, camera, flat screen television. The sad part is that they destroyed our tree. In the past 10 months I have had to have an emergency appendectomy and two surgeries for a tonsillectomy. All three of these surgeries, on top of the numerous ER visits associated with them and the unfortunate need for an ambulance once, I have been strapped incredibly tight this year. I am a full-time student without insurance, and between school and the surgeries/recoveries, I haven't been able to work as much (I do work about 20 hours a week at school on top of 16 credits, but it barely pays for my food.) My cell phone has been off for a month, and at this point I really don't care, I don't need it. I do however need to be able to be able to pay rent, or else I'll be looking for a new place in the midst of all of this. Rent (+ utilities that are owed to landlord) equal $500 for me this month. I am hoping that I can find a job to help me with December (by January I should have more student loans available to get me back on my feet). Anything you can do to help me by Tuesday (I know this is short, but I really waited until this was my last option) would be fantastic. Every little bit will help since it will mean less having to sell off things such as text books I am still using, or any of my 3 electronics for 20% what I paid on them. I am a single mother of two talented and gifted children and a student of
the ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) Program at my local community college. On
Febuary 16th, 2011, my childrens father wipped out our entire savings and
checking account and the contents of our home, then disappeared. There was
absolutely no warning of this. My children and I simply returned home from
school to an almost completely empty house.

My immediate thought was that we were victoms of a burglary. However,
shortly after the police arrived, neighbors reported something even more
disturbing. My childrens father , along with three other men in a huge
company moving truck, spent most of the early morning and mid-afternoon
moving things out of our home. Neighbors said they thought we were just
moving. They suspected no problems. Even though he had taken every household
appliance, all electronics and my childrens cellos, keyboards and computers,
there was nothing the police could do. He was indeed a resident and on the
lease.

I tried contacting him on his cell only to find it disconnected. When I
called his office, I was informed that he had been seperated from the firm
for over a month.

This was awfull and my children and I were in need of answers. To cheer us all up, I decided that we should go out to dinner and
fun. That's when I found out about the accounts.

Although there was no furniture, well, only the childrens bedroom furnitue,
we remained in our home for as long as we could. I started working part time
at a call center at night while continuing my classes in the day.

We soon had to move of course. We were evicted for non payment of rent. I
found a one bedroom appartment that I could afford. This meant moving the
children into another school district.

At the time my daughter was in seventh grade, taking highschool algebra 1,
and highschool english1. Her other classes were all AP 8th grade courses.
She was also in orchestra with her cello. The new district does not allow
7th graders to take highschool class, so she was not able to continue on her
path. Not only did we have to face the challenge of academics, we also had a
severe problem with bullies. Because I had to be at school myself, the
children had to ride the school bus daily. In a horrible neighborhood, they
were beaten often and picked on daily because of how they talked and
dresssed. Telling the school principles and the police only made matters
worse for us and our apartment. The parents live in our aparments and they
are not happy with me calling the authorities on them. I have had widows
borken out in my car, tires cut and the front door of my appartment painted
with ugly words.

I sat out of school this semester in order to escort my children safely to
and from school each day.For now, I work at a call center
m-th 8am-3pm and sat 7am-4pm.

I am trying to move my children to a neighborhood they can be safe in and a
school that is able to meet them at their academic level and they can also
be safe in. If this could happen then I could return to my nursing studies
and the children could return to a safe environment and school.

I pay 400 per month for our one bedroom we are in now. I found some
apartments in a a safer neighborhood with schools that offer orchestra and
college prep courses. ( I have not been able to pay for any private lessons
scince their father left. And their new schools do not offer orchestra. )
The one bedrooms in this particular area are 750/monthly .

I am begging for help to raise enough money to move my children into a
better neighborhood before January so that I may continue in my studies and
they can safely do the same.
I have a 7 year old boy and 13 year old daughter.
I have completed all of my support courses for my nursing. I completed my
first year last year and this summer. So, there is only one more year
nursing school that I have before I graduate. I am pleading with anyone and
everyone to please help me. Any amount will help me reach my goal.

I have been an electronics engineer until two years ago when our company's continued down sizeing left me without a chair. While I actually am working its mostly min wage jobs and mostly under 40 hours. I have one daughter and my wife is now 5 months pregnant. We do manage to scrape some funds together to bring wife to her monthly check ups. However it is the cost of the delivery. Our debt is getting larger while our living expenses seem to grow. We have downsized our lives as best we could.

I realise some peoplemay consider it irresponsible; having another kid with our economic situation. This pregnacy comes a compleate surprise to everyone, wife, me and Dr. During the delivery of our first child my wife had some complications. There had been an emergency C-section perfromed. As result we got a beautiful healthy daughter, but there was a consequence. Basically the doctor told us my wife my not be able to get pregnate again. I mean the odds against was astromonical. Maybe you can say this new baby will be a miracle. Just a miracle during unfortunate times.

last night someone broke into my house and stole all of the cash i keep saved and hidden for groceries every week along with thousands of dollars worth of electronics, dvds, and even the food right out of our fridge! i am a single mother of two boys aged 5 and 7 (widowed four years ago) and it took me years to get some of what was stolen and it wont be replaced any time soon. i also have to replace a window with money i dont have right now which is estimated to be at least 350 dollars. but my main concern is that my children will go hungry. today is grocery day, i have no food to feed my two boys for dinner, and no food to feed our dog and cat until i get paid next thursday. every little bit will not only help, but be greatly appreciated. if i can make at least 40 or 50 dollars i think i can keep my two kids fed from the value menus at local fast food chains and buy some pet food for both of my animals and maybe even keep myself fed, but im more concerned with making sure my children do not go hungry. this is my only option. there are no churches or organizations in my area right now offering food to hungry families. please help!

I am a motivated, single-mother who earned her Bachelor's degree when my son was a toddler, with the hope that I could provide a stable living for my family. Sadly, I have come to the realization that I would probably be better off not working, financially speaking, and relying on governmental assistance.

It's truly disheartening that I cannot survive on a single income alone, working full-time in advertising/marketing for our local newspaper. I thought I was doing everything right. Where did I go wrong? I left my son's father when he was an infant because he was unfaithful to me several times. It was not a conducive or healthy environment for me or my son. Since then, his father has been absent from his life for over 5 years. Not one phone call. Not one visit. No birthday presents. No cards. No money to help with expenses. Nothing. We can handle his absence because I have several positive male role models who have taken my son under their wings. He is a very well-grounded young man and has strong morals, values, and integrity.

With that said, I am the only financial support for him and I and pay all the bills, insurance, etc. and often have my wages garnished because I have had a difficult time paying for a couple ER visits (my son has asthma and was hospitalized with pneumonia) even with my insurance. I feel as if I can't get a break even though I try to do good.

My son is almost 9-yrs old and has been taking Suzuki violin lessons (paid for by a family friend) for the past year and a half. He is also my budding electrician/engineer...and creates incredible inventions with his circuit boards, wires, LEDs & motors that he digs out of old electronics. He attends the Robot Club at the local high school...and the older kids accept him even though he is their youngest member. =) He has an extremely bright future & I am so proud of him. However, it is a constant struggle everyday for me to put on a smile because we are so far in debt. I owe $2500 to the IRS for a supposed error on my 2009 tax return (disagree...but can't afford an attorney to fight it), $800 hospital bills, $3000 from other creditors from credit cards I had when I was 20 (I'm 35 now). I pay $300/month for daycare, household bills, car payment, etc. I am a good person & have a heart of gold. I want to remain a good role-model for my son so he is proud of me. I do not want to have to resort to relying on governmental assistance. I just wish we could survive on my income. It would be feasable if these bills were paid. Please help us. I was layed off from my job of 6 years in 2005 due to budget cuts. In order to keep up with bills while I looked for a new job I started a computer repair business that managed to keep us afloat for a couple years, along with tapping my 401k. During this time the local economy took and even bigger hit and even with over a decade of experience I was unable to find sufficient work without a degree. As a result I decided to go back to school in 2009 to get my degree. With fiancial aid, the remainder of my 401k, money from the odd jobs I could find, and my wifes wages we managed to stay just ahead of our bills.

However in the last year the economy has gotten so bad that I was actually losing money repairing and building custom PC's, my wifes hours have been cut wo less than 10 hours a week, and any job that I have applied for I am not eligble for either because I am still finishing my degree so am under qualified, or because I am over qualified due to the schooling I have completed so far. (That's right I have been told I am overqualified to flip burgers at Mcdonalds, not sure how that works.)

Because of our reduced income we have been late on a number of bill payments for utilities and the house. I have sold my boat, my guns, and various electronics to get were we are and am to the point I have nothing of value left to sell. Aside from the monthly bills I have repair bills racking up on the house and our remaining vehicle.

The to top it off we got hit with a flood that took out our water heater, washer and dryer, and did significant damage to the rest of the basement.

I am hoping to find someone with a big enough heart to help us out here. We have two children, 9 and 6, myself and my husband, and my step-mother. My husband hurt his arm in 2007 at work, and we are still in court with his former employer, because he lost use of his right arm. So he is unable to work, and we receive welfare money. I am a really bad type 1 diabetic and have been since I was 5, and am unable to maintain proper employment, so I am on on SSD. We also have my father's (he passed away at Christmas in 2010) fiance, who is may as well be a step-mother to me who lives with us, who has 3 types of cancer, all stage 4, and she is bedridden, and very very sick. (and she is only 57) We lost our baby son to SIDS in 2009, and things have just kept up being really difficult for us, everytime we almost catch up on bills, somebody dies or gets sick, or the car breaks, and then we end up borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. We have a really old house (pre-civil war) which is hard to keep heated in the winter, and hard to keep cool in the summer, and cant afford to fix the furnace, the water tanks, or the windows. Our car is a '99 van thats falling apart worse every day, and alls we do is drive to doctors and the grocery store. I am at the end of the rope here with being able to sell off any collectibles or music, or electronics that we have, I've been recycling bottles from family members, and saving up all the change we find, but it just isn't enough. My kids, I can't even afford them new summer clothes, and they're both growing like weeds. I have been lucky that I always prepare for the worst, and so I have a bunch of canned food, and we have a few chickens that give us eggs, but we are on our way to sinking beyond the point of saving. Please, we are good God-fearing people, we aren't out to buy ourselves some tv or motorcycle, we have no credit card debt, cuz we think its bad to do that, we just have nothing left to give. I would like to be able to fix our furnace, and insulate our hotwater tank, and maybe be able to fix our car better than we've been doing with metal tape and putty. I would like to be able to get a bag of fresh vegetables and fruit for the kids to stay healthy, and I would like to be able to pay our bills this month.
