I am finally getting serious about paying off debt that includes a hefty student loan, credit cards, and medical bills from a serious car accident that I was in last year. I have been saving money $50 at a time for ten months in an effort to build some emergency funds. I was able to save $2000.00. It took me 20 months. I finally had enough to file bankruptcy and make a new start. Last Wednesday I lost the envelope containing the cash. I am a single mother of one 7yr old that is more than a gift!! I had to step down from college for a little while when I got pregnant to earn money. Hello My name is Philip McIntire and we are needing help getting insulin and medication for my wife to keep her alive. My wife is a type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump that she has had for 10 yrs. We only have a months supply of insulin left and it is required for my wife to live. I have a full time job, but it does not provide any type of insurance at all. My name is Micheal. I am a 23-year-old male living in the midwest. I currently have a job at a failing restaurant and am struggling to look for a job in a failing job market.

My old roommate left me to join the Navy and I have been in dire financial straits ever since (I have gone through dozens of potential roommates and NONE of them were responsible enough to pay their rent or they failed to move in). My rent is VERY high (a little over $700). To the point though, this post isn't really for me; it is for my parents. My parents are BOTH on disability and barely make enough COMBINED to pay for the house that they live in. I constantly have to assist them with living expenses among other things (food and medicine usually). Yes they do get quite a bit of government assistance, but with NO other source of income, things are impossible for them without my help (for example, I had to take on the full car payment for an Acura that my father owned that costs me nearly $400 a month NOT including the insurance).

Now, with myself in financial difficulties, they too are faced with the threat of losing much-needed medicine, vehicle transportation, and possibly their home.

I am making this post in hopes that there is someone who can help keep the worst from happening in my life and for my parents. I've never done anything like this so I'm not sure what to expect, but am hopeful that somebody out there can help. I'm attending a prestigious four year college in the fall, and am extremely proud of the effort I've put in to get this far. I graduated high school one year early (despite some major roadblocks in my home life) and spent the next six months working 40-45 hours per week.

I am eager to leave home once and for all, and put all my energy into my future. I've saved what I could, paid what I can and will continue to work diligently towards establishing myself as a productive adult.

Last year I thought everything was great when I found out I was co-valadictorian of my graduating class. I thought there was no way I could be in the position I am in now. Immediately after H.S. I enrolled at a community college to take nursing. It took a while to get in, but I thought it would be well worth the effort to become someone who could really do some good. I took all my pre-reqs and got A's (and one B), so when I was accepted to the program I was ecstatic. But nearing the end of the first semester my choice began to look grim. My clinical instructor told me that I just was not the kind of person she wanted to become a nurse, that if I wanted to retry clinicals next semester I could, but it probably wouldn't do any good. She failed me by 3 points! I was so upset. Who was she to play with the lives of hopeful students. I was a full time student and have since applied to several minimum wage jobs, but without my parents' support, I no longer have enough money to sustain myself. I just need a temporary fix until I can figure something out. Thanks for listening.

I am nearly 60 years old and am loosing everything. I lost my job and downsized to an apartment with the rest in storage. I still have not found a job and have been served eviction papers on the apartment and registered mail for the auction of my storage. I haven't been to the grocery store in months and now am down to a few canned goods and oatmeal. I have recently had weight loss surgery in an effort to get healthy and eliminate my high blood pressure and diabetes. But now, my mother and I are swamped with all the medical bills from the surgery itself and the hospital! We are drowning in these bills! Please help us! My mother has had to take on more hours at work and I am having to work 2 jobs. Please help us!

In or about October, 2009, I gave birth to a baby, who,from birth was diagnosed with a terminally ill disease.

She resides in New York, at a faciLIty catering to chidren with special needs.

Since birth up until June 2011, I stayed with, and cared for her at the facility.

She is now 2 years old and much stronger.

Thanks be to God.

In an effort at obtaining gainful employment,I moved to Maryland, in or about, June, 2011.

However, to date, and despite my having a Bachelor's Degree, I have had no success in relation to the same.

I would very much like to go and see my baby, but to do so requires my having sufficient funds in order to pay for th bus ticket as well as to pay for accommodations. None of which, I have at the moment.

Understandably, I need a job to do so.

I'm not necessarily seeking employment in any professional capacity, but, rather,in any capacity I might be suitable for.

I am available to begin working immediately.

Like a great deal of the populace, I have found myself, despite tremendous effort, to keep afloat in a series of unfortunate circumstances which are gaining momentum in becoming untenable.
I work my tail off as a domestic, I have no credit cards that I use irresponsibly, or at all for that matter. I care for an emotionally unstable, elderly parent whose home has reached a point of delapidation through her own unsound management of personal finances. The roof leaks whenever it rains, the foundation is cracked and only lastnight, the electrical stopped functioning in a portion of the house.
My ex husband ruined my credit, so no hope of securing a loan and there is no one within my family that posesses the means to assist with the situation.
I have medical bills due to a surgery that was intregal to my being able to maintain a source of income. I am only able to pay my ever increasing monthly premiums for insurance. Barely.
If my employer ever was apprised, to the full extent of my situation, she would be convinced that I would most assuredly be stealing from her, whenever she misplaced something within her 6,000ft. home and I would be terminated despite my devoted service to her family.
I think people don't tend to realize in circumstances such as mine, it makes me all the more dependant on securing an excellent reference to ensure that my options are not severly crippled from that point forward.
However, she isn't a bad person, she just hasn't ever had to struggle like this, so she just doesn't understand how the other half lives.
For years, I have desperately wanted to return to school and something has always been an obstacle: time, money, even a deficit of confidence in my own ability.
I can no longer endure the duress of only just treading water indefinately.
I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and if it does, my mother and I both will be homeless.
Any assistance that in your kindness, you may provide, will not go unappreciated.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing because I have found an injustice that it seems no one else has noticed. I know that I am only one person, but they say one voice CAN make a difference.

I know many people who have made their share of mistakes  we all have sinned no one is perfect. Some just get caught up, can't afford a lawyer and   And want to confess, hoping there would be some type of leniency.  Considering they were young and didn't realize this would affect them the rest of their life. and i have tried to correct each mistake i  have made. The question I pose is how long is a person supposed to pay for those mistakes? Everyday I see people who are doing there best to clean up there life and get a job; but because they are felons/ or have a heinous misdemeanor as society feels that is a liability.  they are turned away from having a better life. That not only affects them and their families but it also affects society. If a man or woman is trying to lead an honest life and jobs are turning those individuals away what’s left? Go back to “the block”? If they get back in the streets they take the risk of losing there *freedom* but if they keep being turned away from jobs because of their past they risk losing there homes and families too. So what is a person to do after all we make mistakes.  Some are just smarter, or maybe they just know how to hold a lie like Casey anthony. But how is it fair for an employer to turn me away for being honest about my past. After all it was 13 years ago and did I ever really know how hard of a punishment and debt that I would half to pay to society as well to my unthought of family at the time.  My decision as a child is affecting my now 10 year old.  I made a mistake i feel like I would of been better off stoned to death I'n the center of the city.  Than to go on continue getting turned down left and right I don't know how long I can go on like this.  Where is the justice for me? Do I no longer have rights.  Am I considered a worthless piece of trash now that I have a conviction a black cloud holding over my head? From 13 years ago I was 18!!  How fair is that for my family NOW! Something needs to be done.  Justice for all!!! These employers shouldn't have the right to go as far back and discriminate. There should be a 7 year law.  After all there is a clean sleight after bankruptcy.  There able to wipe their debt clean as if they owed nothing.  Why can't we. Why is there some type of stigma.  For people that have been convicted and have never gotten convicted again.  That's showing you were trying to live as productive as we can I'n society.  But trying is the key word here because I feel I can't even get a chance!  

Despite what people may think, individuals who have records also have families they have to care for. Once a person has paid there debt to society for there crime and is making noticeable effort to clean up and live right they should have the opportunity to do just that, not be sentenced to a life of crime because there is no other way to survive. I’m sorry but McDonalds and Burger King just isn’t going to cut it with a 30 year old man or woman with 3 kids. This is supposed to be America, the land of opportunity and justice for all, but where is the justice for these people?

I feel very strongly about this and I would love to see justice made true. I plan to write every address and person I can find. I plan to be that one voice that is letting as many people know that this is wrong and unfair according to plain ethics and the so called American Dream.

I truly hope this reaches out to you and I hear back from you soon. I don’t know if a 32 year old female who is living a life like the one I explained above is going to make a difference but I can say at least I am trying make a difference.

It's verry hard for me. I can't find work. I have no health insurance. And recently I need work done on my mouth that I can't afford to pay for. I don't know where to turn. I can't afford a Christmas for my daughter. And if unemployment dint get passed for 2012 were screwed. There's been days of me going without to bed hungry so my daugter can eat. Sometimes I think of ending my life cuz I'm some useless pice of crap that can't make it I'n this word. But my daughter gives me strength and with god I know all this are possible. I won't give up, I'll keep fighting. It's just so hard. Abd it doesn't get any Easyer I'n this small town.
