Update: I will need $2000 by July for a down payment. Then I pay the rest in installments. If I get at least the $2000 I can get the rest by make weekly and monthly payments.

My daughter is going to college in the fall to study veterinarian science. She will be attending SUNY Delhi. The cost for the tuition is approximately $20,000. After getting college loans and financial aid of $500 (unbelievable) we have to pay $6,000 out of pocket for the rest of the costs. We can't get any more loans because we are at our limit. Any help is appreciated. Even if this does not work, I can get the money out of my 401K. However, I am 46 years old and if I do this, I will not have much money in there to retire. This is something I should have started earlier in life. Therefore, I only have about 12,000 in there right now.

I try my hardest but I can not support them the way I used to and it breaks my heart.
I would have been out pan handling today but with heat stroke they want me to stay home and rest.

Please help as I am now physically exhausted and spiritually drained.

I'm a 45 year old male with 5 children. In 2005 I got retrenched from the platinum mine were I worked and with the state that sa's economy is in I've struggled to get a job ever since and my savings are running out. My twins is 18 and in matric this year and both need new glasses and for that they also need new eye test done at specsavers the qoatation was R2000 ($250) for both. My youngest daughter's primary school is R1500 in arears ($200) and my 5year old needs to start play school and the baby needs formula and daipers,then there is food,rent and water and electricity bills and winters coming! I try do odd jobs to make ends meet but now my bakkie (pick up truck) broke down and I do steel works and used it to move my equipment. Any donations or amount money will do and wil be appriciated very much. There is a thousand illegal ways in SA to make money but Im not a theive. I was a policeman in my 20's and know how crime affect the lives of others.I'm alone with only my oldest daugter trying to help in between her job and 2 baby boys. Please I really dont know what to do anymore and what to pay and what not to pay this month.

A few years ago my wife and I divorced. I got stuck with her car payment, student loans, legal fees, and credit card bills. She was awarded our house, but because it was purchased under a VA loan, it remained in my name. She hasn't made a single payment on it in over two and a half years and it is now in foreclosure. My credit is shot. I am a union electrician and due to a bad economy I have been out of work for two out of the last three years. Things got so bad for me that I went over two years without seeing my children. A few months ago I was finally able to borrow enough money from friends to get an attorney and get visitation of my kids again. With all my ex wife's bills that I am responsible for, plus child support and my own cost of living, I am unable to stay afloat. I am drowning in debt and the stress is taking a toll on my body, as I have been gaining a great amount of weight. I know the economy is bad for many people, and I am ashamed and embarassed that it has come to this for me, but I am turning to the many good samaritans that I know are out there and asking you for your help. I am a good person and when times were good for me I always helped the less fortunate when and where I could. Now I, unfortunately, am the less fortunate and I need your help. I never thought I could resort to this, but I am begging for help. I have a 2 year old baby. Last week a man shows up at my house (that I was renting from my mother.) And he says to me"I just bought your house at the tax sale, I'm going to start the eviction paper." The thing is, my own mother betrayed me by not telling me or give me any notice. My wife and I have 3 children with another on the way. A few years ago I was a successful insurance and annuity agent, but the downturns in the economy forced me to get out of that line of work. I am working 3 jobs, putting in as many hours as I can, but with some recent medical bills we have gotten behind. Currently, we are totally broke, and our cabinets are getting pretty empty. We are a month behind on water and electric bills, our phone bill, and our student loans, and it is another week before I can expect any paycheck so I can get to the grocery store and catch up on a few bills. We don't have health insurance, and my work doesn't offer any group plan, so we have had to go on Medicaid for the kids and my wife's pregnancy. We have always been hesitant to seek out government assistance, but last month we found ourselves with no food to eat and behind on all our bills. We applied for SNAP (food stamps), but were told that we make $150 per year too much because of all the jobs I am working. I'm exhausted, but I would work more if I had any hours left in the days to get extra work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a father of two young boys. we already are living without water and we have no food beyond this week. we walk across street to use restroom at a family members house, this is gracious enough as we have fallen on hard times and so have they. we, together, try our best to help each other but i have been without meaningful work since being laid off from a steel mill. i was a hard worker and went in sick or well to make sure my family had their needs met, when i lost my job it was devastating. i am 26 no degrees, some college level courses completed and have had only two jobs since i was 18. i have little to no work experience outside of the heavy industries which have fallen off sue to the slow economy. this makes me under qualified for most good paying jobs as i cannot work for min. wage and support my children along with my home. this has destroyed my six year marriage and left me penniless and sometimes homeless as my ex wife retains the home. she works near full time but only makes 9 dollars and hour driving bus for osu, not enough income to cover all the expenses without my help. i have moved back home to try to make amends to find that within 10 days we are to be removed from the house if i do not have $1,500.00 for non-payment of the mortgage. please if someone can help us as i am desperately looking for gainful employment, i want to work and am a good hearted christian man. if only a few kinds words to sway an employer to give me a chance, anything would be appreciated.

Hi I am a single mother going through a tough divorce, a victim of domestic violence. I have had to start my life over after losing everything. The last 2 years have been really tough and it's very hard to recover in this economy and tough job market. I really need some help to pay my back rent upcoming rent as well as some traffic/court tickets so that I might have some breathing room. I have some ideas for a new business too but I couldn't even fathom in that venture until I can catch up and start to save a little. in a couple of weeks i will be homeless. after becoming unemployed two years ago i was living off money which i had from cashing in my retirement account. after taking a couple of months for leisure ( i hadn't had an actual vacation, aside from a long weekend here or there, for the past 12 years) i was in the beginning phase of starting a small business. then i had a heart attack. i had surgery to place a stent in one of my arteries. it seems that i was born with a twisted artery and had been living with it all my life suffering no ill effects. according to my doctor artery walls are fairly thin and pliable when one is young, but as a person ages the walls thicken and become less pliant. when you combine these two factors with the twist of the artery, the result is a cutoff of the flow of blood to the heart. my doctor said that had i waited another day to come into the hospital, i would have died. while the surgery left me weak, it was the anti-rejection medication that i was on which was the problem. it left me so tired and weak, that after a walk to and from the local bodega just two blocks from my apartment , after i walked in the door i had to lay the bags down and sit and rest for a half hour or more, before i could put groceries away or even thinking about standing up and preparing food. quite a change from when i was biking 5 miles a day/ five days a week and lifting weights several times a week. my bank account was swiftly drained due to the cost of the hospital stay/surgery, and to the cost of medications ($130/month).
once i was off the anti-rejection meds and feeling well enough to work, i began searching for a job seeing as my hope of starting a business drained away with the money in my bank account. but unfortunately, with the economy the way it is, i have been unsuccessful in my search. i am now virtually penniless and am being evicted from my apartment. i am have sold off what few possessions i have in order to have some cash to buy the things i need for living on the streets, but the accumulated amount came to less than $100.
