Getting a divorce from habitual liar. HELP!
Posted by ThisFamilyNeedsHelp on 2011-12-06 13:58:11
Please help! 37 year old mother of a 5 yr old and a 12 yr old is getting a divorce from my habitual liar husband. I thought I married the man I would spend the rest of my life with, I had planned on only doing it once. I do not work right now. I was doing hair when we met and he wanted me to quit and stay home with our son until he started school. I saw that our relationship was heading downhill and not getting any better and decided I need to go back to school to finish my Bachelor degree in Business Management. I am hoping to finish up by July or October of next year, 2012. I want to open my own business so I can support my wonderful children and give them the things they need and some of the things they want. My 2 children and I, along with our 2 small dogs, had to move in with my mother, uncle, grandmother, and brother. We have been here for a year on Dec 10th and have been separated from my husband that long. He has given me very little money for support in the past year, spent all the tax return, took out a loan on my previously paid off vehicle and spent that money, and ended up getting me in trouble with a bad check to our previous landlord. We had a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad cab, I was primary on the loan, he was secondary, and he said he was trading it in for a Chevy Equinox, better gas mileage and cheaper payments. this was 3 months ago. I am now realizing, how can you trade in a vehicle when the other person on the loan never signed the papers? So now I have people calling me saying they are coming after me for the Dodge truck. I have no clue what I'm going to have to or be able to do on that.
He put a bunch of our stuff in storage when we separated, we moved to Missouri with my mom and he moved in with a friend in Iowa and then LOST it, so I don't have a lot of stuff I've worked for and had before we even met. The list of stuff he lost...5 seat sectional with chaise lounger, 37" flat screen tv, PS2 and about 12 games, Wii and 2 games, new surround sound, 5 disc stereo system, new bluray player, box of my season dvds like Smallville, Friends, One Tree Hill and ER, a huge box of my Disney VHS that I had been collecting since high school, nice new short entertainment center, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, washer and dryer, refrigerator, tall dining table with chairs, vacuum, electric can opener, butcher block knife set, corelware dishes, stainless steel pots and pan set, toaster, king bed, bookcase, desk, riding lawnmower, 2 weed eaters, etc. I probably could keep going.
I'm living on the good will and love my family offers and my small student loan refunds. I get NO child support. I am looking to pay off $15,000 in student loans, the $6200 loan on my Tahoe, the $1100 bad check and a couple hundred in lawyer fees, and the $1,400 Target Visa he ran up and let go bad. I need 4 new tires, an alignment, and a new windshield on the Tahoe. I would like to build my children and I a house in the next 3-4 years.
My goals...
~ Finish my BSBA in Management, end of 2012.
~ Thinking about getting my MBA.
~ Open my business, if you are interested I can tell you about it. Looking for potential investors. Working toward fall of 2012, may have to be fall of 2013.
~ Build my kids and I a house, which my mother will eventually come live with us. Right now she is taking care of my grandmother. If my business takes off like I foresee, I would like to build as I have the money so I don't have a mortgage, or put 50% down and get a loan for the rest.
~Be happy in life!
I am an honest Christian woman and I believe that the bills should be paid first BEFORE you go out and blow any money on luxuries such as eating out. He eats out a lot!
If you find it in your heart to help me out, please send me a note with how you would like for me to use the money, 3 choices as there will hopefully be others who can help me, and I can send you proof that that bill was paid. This is new to me and my first attempt at "cyberbegging", which has taken all I have. I am proud and have done many things on my own, so it is very humiliating for me to have to take this route.
I would assume your donation is tax deductible, but you will have to check on that.
If this works for me, I will give back and help out others who need it.
God Bless you and your family. Happy Holidays!

I am very shocked to find myself in this position and would never have thought I would ever "beg" but I find I have to try everything possible. My job was outsourced to India and I suffered a HUGE loss in salary. I now have 2 low paying jobs and as luck would have it, everything possible has broke, leaked, or stopped up! My furnace in my house broke, the clothes dryer, dishwasher, stove have all broken in the same month. The toilet upstairs leaks downstairs and the only tub I have is now clogged so that it can't be used. I have already paid hundreds for plumbers and the only solution is now to rip out walls to remove the old pipes to find where clog is. I also now have 2 broken teeth in need of immediate repair before the roots becomes infected. So as I search for a new better paying job I am in desperate need of help. I now know how the early settlers felt having to take a "bath" in the sink. I certainly don't see an employer hiring a stinky 52 year old woman. This has caused me to be behind on my mortgage as well and I am in jeopardy of losing my home.
Any little bit you can give would be helpful and I fully intend to "pay it forward" once I am back on my feet. Thank you all from te bottom of my heart.

Hi everyone,
My family and I are going through a challenging time. In October 2010 our car was repossessed and I began to walk to & from work 6 miles each day. I didn't much mind because whatever you have to do to make a legitimate living you do hands down. Unfortunately I developed high blood pressure. That coupled by a chronic pain condition caused me to resign from my job. I did not qualify for unemployment because i quit even though I explained I had no transportation and the job required field visits which I couldn't make without a car. My husband had been trying to find work for two years after his job literally closed overnight with no notice. In May of this year we figured things were looking up. We've borrowed from family members, sold our dryer, jewelry, handbags , etc to our local pawnsmart. My husband got a job in May only to be laid off in August because a coworker made a costly mistake that cost the company their contract with delta airlines. He went to apply for unemployment and was told he wouldn't qualify until october when dept labor begins to look at the april/may/june quarter. Then we received a notice that since he didn't have that many wages for that quarter he'll have to wait until november and reapply. We don't have a car or any, so each time we need to go to dol we walk the 8 mile trek there and back. We have no family in GA where we live and friends seem to exist when you are not in dire straits. We spoke to our leasing company and said we would be late with our October rent. we've contacted one social service agency at the beginning of the month. My husband was interviewed and approved by the worker who said her boss had to sign off on the paperwork. when my husband checked back week later, he was told do not come back to the office we'll receive an approval or denial in the mail. now we have nothing. We've had to ask our local library for toilet tissue, scrape change for soap which is used for both body, dishes and clothing. we are both college educated, no criminal history, hard working adults. To ask for help is really difficult. Our rent is 550 a month. Iam really scared that at any moment we are going to be evicted. A donation of any amount would be appreciated. Thank you and may God bless you.

My Family is Homeless

My husband, two kids and I have been forced to move in with my parents due to unemployment. My husband was layed off, I went back to school (federal funding) to make myself more employable - there just aren't any jobs in the area. I did the math, and it averages out to about 50 people fighting for every job in the local area. It's impossible. We keep trying, but somebody else always gets it. My husband, daughter and I live in the same room as the washer and dryer, my son has his own room and thank God that worked out the way it did because before that all 4 of us were squeezed in here. We just want to get out of here. We know that if we can find the money to get upstate, his cousin has a job for him and we can get back on our feet. All we need is a little help - it wouldn't have to be a lot. We have nothing. I know that there are a few good people out there that will read this and give just a little to help, and that it will be enough. I want to thank you in advance for your time, and may God bless you.
Help Me Get Back To Work. I Have A Job Offer, But Need Help To Work. Please Read

Hi. I cant believe I;m begging online. I expect no response to this, but view it as a place to vent. Good things just haven't happened to me for a long time. Here I go anyway... I am writing because I am in desperate need for help. I am a 35 year old single dad with a 9 year old daughter. Let me begin by explaining my situation. My former employer, in the building supply industry, went out of business a few years ago. The economy has not rebounded making building industry jobs scarce. I have since then put myself through schooling to become an emergency medical technician as I stand a chance at getting hired by my local fire department if the economy improves. I am aiming for a career change to get back into the work force. I had to change careers for economic as well as health reasons. Shortly after my company went out of business, I was diagnosed with Crohnâs disease, a debilitating disease affecting the digestive tract. The disease caused me to lose 75 lbs (30% of my body mass) in 8 months. I have been proactive in drastically changing my diet and getting the proper medical care and medicine (Thank God for Medicaid).
Even with medical care, I am still sick every day but I am making the disease more manageable. I applied for disability and received a response back that my condition is indeed disabling, preventing me from working, but would resolve in a year. Hopefully it does, but it is classified as an incurable disease that leads to repeated surgeries in 75% of the patients diagnosed with the disease. On the flip side of that statistic is a growing hope that alternative therapies may work⦠but take time to custom tailor to the individual. They are also expensive and not covered by Medicaid or private sector insurance. I have spoken to a disability attorney who is ready to represent me if necessary. I am only seeking disability as my âPlan Bâ if all else fails. I want to become a productive member of society again. I do have a âPlan Aâ, but I have a LOT of obstacles ahead of me.
This has all had a devastating effect on my finances. Last summer my gas was turned off the day after my daughterâs heart surgery. The gas was turned back on based on medical necessity. As of this week, my gas is turned off again and LIHEAP cannot assist me. I canât seem to ever have the âTimingâ right to get assistance. My electric is also on the verge of being shut off. My home is in foreclosure but the bank has agreed to work with me if I can find employment fast. I have just received a job offer that I graciously accepted. I start in a week. Just before receiving the job offer, while biking with my daughter, I had a mini stroke which caused me to go unconscious while riding. I crashed, broke my ribs, clavicle, hurt my spine, bruised my brain and lung, received several stitches, etc.. I pray that my health stabilizes to allow me to work. My daughter lives with me in this house. I would like to save it from foreclosure mainly for her sake. Itâs where she has grown up. Itâs a few blocks from her school where I want to keep her. My adopted 9 year old daughter, who I love a lot, has a very difficult speech impediment and learning disability. She already has special education and speech therapy in place with professionals that have worked with her for many years and know her needs. It would be very difficult to have to move away and have to make her start over in another school. I love my daughter a lot and will do anything to provide for her a life that she deserves⦠with my own limited resources. I say all that to illustrate âin shortâ that I need help. I have asked relatives and friends for help throughout the year and they are âTappedâ. My church is also in the same situation. I have sold most of my possessions to afford my phone bill, auto insurance, and auto fuel. My daughter and I currently have Medicaid and SNAP food assistance.
My goals are to:
1) I need to rebuild my professional wardrobe. I have lost a lot of weight and consequently have been working on buying dress clothes for my new job. I am to wear solid black suits. I am a 44L with a 38â Waist and 34â Inseam. Size 14 Black oxford shoes. I will graciously accept presentable used items. I can buy 3 inexpensive nice black suits for $80 each. $50 for shoes.
2) I have to keep going to my doctors and maintain and improve my health. I have just been referred off for advanced level care. The travel expenses are going to be very high. I will have to stay overnight in a hotel somehow for some procedures.
3) I will have to afford to drive to work. I will have to keep myself insured and afford the initial cash outset for my first 2-3 weeks of work. I am traveling far to work and it will cost me about $125 a week in fuel. $60/ month in insurance.
4) I have to get my gas turned back on. I am looking at having to come up with an impossible $5000 to get it turned back on.
5) I just bought and installed an used electric water heater and dryer. I have no way as of yet to heat my house this winter.
6) I have to catch up on my $1500 electric bill. Hopefully I can do so or I will have to abandon my house and give up hope. I may have to move to a different state with different utility companies.
7) If I can accomplish the above goals in a short amount of time, I stand a very strong chance at getting my mortgage modified and staying in my home. I can then only have to worry about the basics of life in addition to my health and my daughterâs heart and special needs.
I am facing some tough challenges. I cannot do it on my own. I have nowhere to turn. I would appreciate any assistance or advice on where to go for assistance.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I appreciate your help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I appreciate your help.

We are both out of work there is no food they took the washer and dryer stove and Refig. They took everything back not even a do you think you might get some help.We are not asking for a hand out we would like a hand up so that we can get back on our feet. Once we are back up on our feet I will help those that I can. We have taken in homeless folks before but now we might be the ones looking for help. Thanks for all the help and god bless you.
Quickly losing the battle to keep a roof over my families heads

I was layed off from my job of 6 years in 2005 due to budget cuts. In order to keep up with bills while I looked for a new job I started a computer repair business that managed to keep us afloat for a couple years, along with tapping my 401k. During this time the local economy took and even bigger hit and even with over a decade of experience I was unable to find sufficient work without a degree. As a result I decided to go back to school in 2009 to get my degree. With fiancial aid, the remainder of my 401k, money from the odd jobs I could find, and my wifes wages we managed to stay just ahead of our bills.
However in the last year the economy has gotten so bad that I was actually losing money repairing and building custom PC's, my wifes hours have been cut wo less than 10 hours a week, and any job that I have applied for I am not eligble for either because I am still finishing my degree so am under qualified, or because I am over qualified due to the schooling I have completed so far. (That's right I have been told I am overqualified to flip burgers at Mcdonalds, not sure how that works.)
Because of our reduced income we have been late on a number of bill payments for utilities and the house. I have sold my boat, my guns, and various electronics to get were we are and am to the point I have nothing of value left to sell. Aside from the monthly bills I have repair bills racking up on the house and our remaining vehicle.
The to top it off we got hit with a flood that took out our water heater, washer and dryer, and did significant damage to the rest of the basement.
Current bills include:
Cable $185
Cell $195
Mortgage $850
porperty taxes $200
food $600
gas $250
misc expenses for kids $200+ (8 year old daughter, 17 year old son)
repairs
replace water heater $1200
replace washer and dryer $500
engine and transmission work needed $2400
replace flooring and wall paneling $7500
Current monthly income
Wife: $600
Me: $800
Even with the financial aid and some other assistance we are almost $600 a month short just for the basic bills.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

so i live in jacksonfarm apartments oshkosh wisconsin its the apartments go by what you make so alot of the familys around here dont make that much and i was thinking about all the things the manager could get for us if there were people actually donateing. hopefully a better washer/dryer unit maybe because sometimes you got to run the dryed twice just for them to dry and it costs a dollar something to run them. see what i mean? so if you could donate it would be very sweet.
Funeral Expenses
Posted by asimenia on 2010-07-17 16:58:58
I have been taking care of my mother for 15 years. I had changed careers and my life, which I had no regrets doing. She had Alzheimers and 9 years ago broke her leg which made it difficult for her to walk again. She passed away this May. This has been a very stressful and emotionally hard for a long time. It was also expensive to take care of her. Over the years I tried to save for when this time came. But, always something happened. The washer and dryer went at the same time. My car finally had it and had to get another. Now, my central air went down. I am trying to make payments to the funeral home. I am behind on my mortgage, association, utilities, etc... I never thought I would resort to asking for help from anyone but I don't know what else to do. If you could find it in your heart to help in any way you can, I would be greatful for the rest of life.

feeling overwhelmed
Posted by Hopefull on 2010-07-16 21:58:58
Where do I start? I have a full time job but I just don't make enough to pay bills, buy food, and make repairs to may town home. I have two growing boys that I love very much. Each month is a struggle. I live pay check to pay check and never have enough money for clothing, shoes, repairs..etc. My checking account always gets under $10 right before payday and I do everything I can not to be tempted by payday loans. I try to live on a budget and any extra money would be put to good use. I would like to take my little dog to the vet, repair a leaky pipe, repair a leaky roof, my clothes dryer is broken and I have some sheet rock repair to the ceiling in my sons room that needs to be repaired since hurricane IKE caused a roof leak. I am a hard worker and would so appreciated a donation of $10, $20 or more. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.... I hope you are blessed :)

Hello and thank you for reading my post! We are a small and effective Domestic Nonprofit based out of Knoxville TN helping the homeless get off the streets as a Mobile Crisis/Intervention Unit. We are in need of replacing our 1985 Chevy Van with a new Mobile Crisis Unit. If you can donate an RV with a Shower, Kitchen and Washer/Dryer combo we would greatly appreciate it. For more details on they type of Mobile Crisis Unit we wish to build and purchase you may see our website at: http://homelesscrisis.wordpress.com/goals/
The Mobile Crisis Unit detailed on the above web page is a custome unit. We would be more then happy to accept a normal RV but it does need to have a shower, kitchen and waher/dryer combo. Thank you very much for reading my post. Lance Greene(Founder) Straight Ahead Outreach (Taking Back Your Life) Inc. Cell: 865-964-1461 Please feel free to call me. Thank you! :-))!
