I am in need of financial assistance. My daughter has been accepted to college. I am a single parent. I divorced my ex-husband when she was four years old. Although her father lives in the same city as us, he does not consistently help me financially. I have worked really hard over the years despite being a single parent. Unfortunately, last year I was laid off from my job due to downsizing. I really want my daughter to attend college. She has worked hard in high school. She is ranked in the top ten percent of the students. She is 6 out of 300. I have tried getting scholarships because financial aid is based on my income from last year when I was working. The scholarships are not enough. I really need some help. Please donate to help her go to college.

I am being evicted due to foreclosure. My landlord was collecting rent from me but was not paying the mortgage on the property. I was unaware of her inactions. The court is issuing an evictionotice within thirty days. I lost my job at Zuma restaruant in downtown Miami due to downsizing of the line cooks. So I am unable to pay first and last month rent on another place to live and cannot payment of any rent until I secure another job. About 6 months ago, I was laid off due to corporate downsizing. I decided to start my own business, but it's been tough making ends meet as I build it up. I have several very good possibilities for work, but my money may not last until the work comes through. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was laid off last month due to my company downsizing. So right now it is only my husband that is working. I have been actively looking for some jobs and I have a few good prospects. However, if we don't come into money soon, we are going to be kicked out from the house that we rent. Our rent is about 1200 and I have some family that can loan us some of the money, but we still will be short by $400. The landlord is giving us an extension of April 5, to pay for this months rent. If we can't we may see ourselves on the street. We have two young kids (4 year old and a 1 1/2 year old. If you could please help, it would mean the world to us.

I need help! I lost my job due to downsizing. Since I was pregnant, I was unable to find work. I have not been released to return to work yet but have still sent out applications. Praying for something. I had to sell jewelry my grandmother left me in order to get my older son a few presents for Christmas. I know this is a story people have heard over & over. I never thought I would be in this position when I got pregnant. This is supposed to be a joyous time. My sons father also left us. Any help would be a miracle

Despite our income being cut in half, we were scraping by. Two years ago I incurred HUGE medical bills, and we are working hard to get them paid off but it just seems like we can never get ahead. We aren't asking for a huge windfall, just help to get things back to current.

Whatever money we get would help to offset our current bills and also pay down some of this debt!! We are in our 50s and the idea of retirement is nonexistant as we will be paying this debt for at least 15 years at our current rate.

I am a proud man who has worked my whole life to make a life for me and my family. I very recently lost my job due to downsizing. I have been a printer since the age of 20, I am 52 now. My wife has Multiple Sclerosis and Diabetes and hasn't worked in almost a year. I love her very much and will not leave her. I have been raising my three step daughters and one step granddaughter with just my income and unfortunantly unemployment with not take care of the bills. I need a good paying job or some type of helping hand. I was barely able to give my family a decent Christmas but it has drained almost all my finances. I am in a debt management program for our credit cards but with the mortgage and utility bills coming up it is scary what may happen.Right now I'm $3,000 behind on everything. Hello, my name is Scott and I am here asking for help because I... have run out of every alternative to get my life and my project studio business off the ground. It's at a dead stop. I was laid off in March 2011 due to company downsizing, could not qualify for unemployment because the previous employers "claimed" I'd quit. Job hunted on foot in Chicago from March to August filling out 4-9 applications a day, 5 days a week without a single call from anyone. Exhausted all of my bank accounts, can not get a load due to not owning a car or home, had to sell my car just to pay off debts, lost my apartment because ex-roommate thought it was better to steal from me and lie about having a job than telling the truth. My parents are in the hospital, so they are in no shape to help me.

The only way I have been able to contact people is by relying on my girlfriend's Internet, electricity, helping her cook and clean while "guest staying" at her apartment but know this won't last. I ask too much of her help to watch my cat while I continue to look online.




All I ask is for someone, anyone who can help. My goal is simple: I need to raise enough money to start a art design, publishing studio which would bring in clients who need visionaries to help make their designs, commercials, products, books, ebooks, animation using the next wave of 3D technology, FX special effects for student filmmakers in Chicago colleges, to help bring in interns and show them the pros and cons to hone their skills, and finally bring together Chicago artists who wish to have their talents and skills to create extraordinary work for any and all who wish to see it.

Bottom line, I need help. Financial help. I don't know what else to do. I can't get a job, for whatever reason, I'm flat broke, exhausted from sleeplessness and stress. All I own is a laptop, some clothes, my wonderful artistic skills, (my undying determination, good sense of right and wrong, knowledge of computer programs, business sense, sharp humor and a kind heart to make my dream a reality. I really don't want to live under a expressway but if things don't change, it looks like my next post just might be my last.

I lost my job earlier this month due to company downsizing and have been unable to find a new job because I don't drive. I know I will find something soon, but I need help to pay rent and utilities for this month. I need to pay $1000 by the 12th or I will be looking for a new place by the end of the month. Last year was a disaster for our family and we have now exhausted every possible resource and emptied our savings just to stay in our home. Two family members lost our jobs due to downsizing, and have been unable to find employment because with college educations we are "overqualified" for the McDonald's jobs. We are three grown children living in my mother's home and trying to contribute anything we can to the bills. She is working full time while also attending grad school, and her income simply isn't enough. She also has a young teen still at home. She loves sharing her home with us, but we have lost the ability to contribute.

At this time we have sold a few things on Craigslist in order to prevent our water being shut off tomorrow, but I have a car payment due (I need the car to look for jobs), and we have no way to pay the mortgage next month unless we allow the electricity and phones to be shut off. Any amount would be a blessing which would be combined with the occasional $20 we are able to earn by offering tutoring and music lessons now and then. Thank you so much for anything you can do.

Like everyone I lost my 10 year job in 2006 one month after purchasing our home, took a huge paycut started working again within a week and was let go due to downsizing 5/2010. I have used up everything on my credit cards to just get by. I work in sales and receive commissions but December is a down month. I have no income in January, can't get help becasue I never have applied and I am self employed, I am almost 2 months behind in bills and have no money. I don't know what else to do. My fiance's work has been off due to the weather, my mom's business is way off due to the economy - she lives in the in-law apt. she can't help, within 5 months we are so burdened with debt I don't know how we will ever get out of it! If I get behind anymore I will need thousands to bring back my bills to current. Please help us! My daughter needs new clothes, I have no family to help and nothing left to sell to try to get by these next few weeks. I am so sorry to be asking anyone for help! PLEASE help me. Thank you!!!

I'm a 37 yr. old man with a family that includes me,my wife and 4yr. old daughter.I also have 2 daughters from my previous marriage that I pay support for and take every weekend.2010 was a year long downhill spiral for us.First I lost my job of 6 years due to a company shutdown.I was told of the closing the day it happened.We were already struggling to make ends meet and my wife had just started back to school at night for nursing.After going on unemployment my wife had to stop school to pick up more hours at work.We had to take our daughter out of daycare which meant she had to stay home with me which put me at a big disadvantage for looking for work.However,I can't tell you how many times I've taken her to put in applications and even on some interviews.Believe me,it does'nt help your chances of getting a job showing up with your 4yr. old to do an interview.I finally did get another job only to be laid off 3 weeks after I started.This meant I was'nt there long enough to apply for unemployment.This was over about a 7 month span in 2010 and over that time we fell further and further behind.Luckily I was able to work off a good bit of rent by doing work for our landlord at night after my wife was home.He had alot of properties and I'm a professional painter/handyman by trade.Then in August my landlord came to us and said he was selling the house and we had about 45 days to move.He also refused to help us financially in anyway to make the move and even kept our deposit stating,"I filed bankruptcy,sue me".We found a program that helped us secure another apt. and we moved within 30 days.After we moved in we found out the apt. was infested with mice,ants and other insects.The new place was a nightmare.We found out the young man living under us was physically abusing his girlfriend almost every night as we had to listen to this every night and my daughter witnessed several acts of abuse in the hall and driveway.Continuous phone calls to the property manager and police resulted in nothing being done.These two would break and smash things,yell,swear and slam doors that shook my whole house and broke things on my walls.After about our 5th call to police and the manager we woke up to 4 flats and all our windows broke on our car.Then another couple moved in across the hall from these 2 and this man was physically beating his girlfriend and doing drug deals in front of our house.3 days after they moved in our apt. was broken into and we had several things stolen,including every new toys and clothes we had been buying little by little for my daughters Christmas.It was'nt much,but it was all we had for her.Alot more went on there everyday and I knew we had to move but we had no money.I ended up posting an ad on craigslist and asking people for help and we found someone to let us move in with no deposit or anything.We were forced to move a week before Christmas.Christmas morning we had 3 presents for our daughter,all from toys for tots.Now we're in a new apt. with no way to pay the next months rent or much of anything else.My wife's hours were cut almost in half due to downsizing and cutbacks,I am unable to find work and I don't know what else to do.we don't even have a phone for potential employers to call.I use a free voice mailbox and then have to go to a payphone to return calls if I can find change.We've had to sell anything we had of value over the past 4 or 5 months to semi-survive.We have a car that someone donated to us and I was just told it needs about $2,000 worth of work.Neither my wife nor I have any family still living.We do receive foodstamps and are told that's all we're eligible for here in Mass.We also go to foodbanks every week.I actually tried panhandling 3 times and once I was arrested,another time I was beaten up and the last time I made $12.00 in 10 hours.I don't know what to do.It's gotten so bad the last two months me and my wife have discussed possible temporary(hopefully temporary),foster care for my daughter.I can't imagine losing my daughter for any period because we don't have any money for a place to live.It's tearing my heart out to have to write this.We are very good people.We've always worked hard,have never drank or used drugs and done our best to be good,honest people.We just need a little help.Anything anyone can give will help.Be it a dollar or two or even 50 cents.PLEASE HELP my family in anyway you can.May GOD bless and keep you all.
