I recently discovered I am pregnant with my first child and am overwhelmed. I am excited about the idea of becoming a mother and know that I will be a good parent. I am educated, hard working and love children.

I have been a dog rescuer for over 10 years, working as a foster parent for my local humane society. This is 100% a volunteer position that I donate a lot of my time, energy and resources to. In the past 10 years I have rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed over 300 dogs and puppies.

I do have a full-time job to pay my bills. I am a hard worker and have been at my current job for 6 years. However, due to the economy in my area, my income recently took a sharp nosedive. I am looking for additional work to supplement my income and/or a different full-time job (that is not commission based).

Unfortunately, my bills are now behind and my home is in foreclosure. I own a small farm in the country and have a great set-up for the foster work that I do and a great place to raise a child. Rentals in our area tend to be higher than what my mortgage payment is now ($550), so moving wouldn't be a better move for me financially. I am currently 3 payments behind.

With cold weather here now, my electric bill has spiked and is now averaging about $195 a month (most months it is only about $85-$90).

I own my vehicle outright, but it's older and seems to be in need of more and more repairs. Right now I am in debt to my mechanic $165 for brake work he did 2 weeks ago. It's an older SUV and a gas guzzler.

I do not live a fancy lifestyle, by any means. I do not have cable tv, high-speed internet, new clothes or shoes, expensive purses or designer sunglasses. I live a very modest and healthy life and do not believe in waste. I'm not a drinker, not a smoker and do not use drugs of any kind.

The humane society foots in the bill on all of the foster-dog related expenses (vet care, food, toys, etc.), so I have no money going out towards that. I have cut back on the number of dogs that I foster, from 2-3 at a time to just 1. I am a responsible foster parent and in no way a hoarder.

I intend to continue fostering up until I have the baby (due date is August 15th). I get so much personal fulfillment out of rescue work and I know will miss it when the baby comes. However, I know that I will want to focus 100% on my child and being the best mom I can be.

I have always been a big believer in paying it forward to the greater good. I'm hoping that this plea will reach someone out there who is currently in a comfortable financial position and willing to assist someone who is not.

I can, and will, provide proof of any of the facts I stated above, including a letter from my employer, a letter from the humane society director, copies of my utility bills, mortgage bill, etc., upon request.

Not to proud when it comes to taking care of my daughter. It's been a rough couple years. The best part of it all is my beautiful 4 year old daughter who is my world. I fought and lost a lot to get custody of her but it was worth every penny. Thanks to her mother I lost a lot, my home, my car, thousands of dollars worth of possessions because of her drinking and drug use.

I've worked 2 jobs for 3 1/2 years to make ends meet. It's my daughter and I in a 1 bedroom apt, with a car that makes me wonder some mornings. I've had my house foreclosed on, had to file bankruptcy and had the bank remove items before they were legally able. That's another story.

Regardless, I am a hard worker and at the suggestion of a friend took a job here in Cincinnati with a company. Everything was great, salary etc finally, until 2 months after I started. They fired the CIO and my hiring Director. Brought in a new CIO who basically is cleaning house. Not based on performance, but on financial reasons. Therefore, my entire dept is being outsourced to Lima Peru. After the first of the year I may be without a job.

I'm kicking myself for leaving my last job. Sure finance wise it was a struggle but I was doing it. Now I'm not sleeping, worried sick as to what I'm going to do. I'm not looking for handouts, I would rather a good paying stable job in this area or maybe someone to critique my resume and maybe beef it up so to speak. I'm an IT Project Manager with almost 10 years experience but can't afford,nor have the time to get my PMP with working 2 jobs and all.

I am a 71 year old women with a 49 yeardaughter that needs to find a rental that is very low price. We came down here to let the daughter reestablish her relationship with her father that she had not seen for 8 years. She has 5 stents and 2 tumors on her pancreas. I worked in a youth Mental Hospital. Many of our kids were getting hurt due to the way they intermix the type of problems and disorders these kids have. MRDD kids on the same unit with high IQ Behavior disorder kids with violent criminal charges from rape to murder. These MRDD kids are very low IQ and are unable to understand the manipulation that the BD jail kids are capable of.
This led to MRDD kids getting sexually abused, manipulated, and viciously attacked many times leading to hospitalization and even surgery to repair the damage. I started out sending emails to the director of the hospital and then on to the CEO. I was wrote off and dismissed despite the number of kids that were getting hurt. I was told that we had to take all kids of patients depending on who the market was paying for and we would just have to find a way to make it safe, then to make things worse they started to lower our staffing. When they saw that I was not going to let it go they fired me saying that I had broken some BS policy. They have been fighting my unemployment and now I am fighting to keep my home. I am also still fighting them in the local press and court but since I am seen as a whistle blower I seem to be unemployable at this time. I have no regret for this fight but I do not want my own kids to suffer for my decisions. We have no money for Christmas and my son smiled and hugged me when I told him I had no money for his birthday last month. I don’t like to ask for help but it’s all I have left. Thank you.

Hi, I am a former musical director who lost his full-time job due to younger generation moving in to replace me. I am 55 years old, in good shape and currently enrolled and have done very well in Voice Acting/Multi-Media/Film classes which are very expensive trade school type intense studies.

I am about half-way through the courses I need to launch my new career as a Multi-Media voice/music/acting/film/producer/director/advertiser. This will entail building a home studio, installing equipment and website/marketing costs. I am also playing in two bands and teaching guitar lessons trying to make up the lost income.

My motivation to ask for help financially is due to my hearing aids which are now very outdated. My right hearing aid has been repaired several times and no longer functions properly, I cannot use it to hear conversation. My left aid works but doesn't have the power I need to listen in class and hear what I need to excel. I use an outboard listening device right now but it is horrible quality. I am essentially rendered partially deaf because I cannot afford new hearing aids.

I am a single mother of an eight month old boy, having to stay with people so that he has a roof over his head. I have been told that they need someone with a "sunny appearance" and that I just do not fit that description. Things that I can't help are holding me back from getting a job. I was unable to get my unemployment benefits because my former Nursing Director told them that I quit due to an illness. They then sent me a letter that says pregnant women are not physically fit for suitable work and that in order to get on unemployment I have to work at another job for 30 days. I don't know what to do. I have been looking for a job for over a year. I have been taking care of my eight month old son by picking up change people drop. I really need help and would be so grateful for any kind of assistance I can get. I cannot even get help from the government because I do not have ten people not related to me, that can be reached during the day, that have known me for more than one year, to sign a paper stating that I have no income and that I am actively searching for a job. Everyone that could sign for me is either working during the day, or related to me. I need help to move somewhere that I can get a job. Any job will do, I just need to be able to support my son. What is this happening? What is the fault of the parents? Is this their fault that they have become older now, or their fault is that they have wasted their entire life for their children by meeting their needs and expectations, giving their children everything they have ever wanted, from sending them to schools to helping them in being self-dependent? Or the fault of parents is that they have loved their children so much? And so good is the result, that senior citizens are getting out of it. Instead of receiving love of their children, daughter-in-law and grand-children, they are getting humiliation, negligence and disrespect. This is seriously very saddening and disappointing.

Did parents ever teach their children to forget their moral values, respect and love for them, when they become old? No, they have never taught this. Parents can never even expect this from their children. The feeling of being ignored by your loved ones kills from inside.

Recently, I came across an old lady, who lives in our neighborhood. The kind of life she is leading is inhuman. She is living just because she is not strong enough to commit suicide. She is living with the hope that one day she will get back the love she has been showering on her children till now. I was in tears, when I heard her story. She was crying and telling me what has happened with her. Her husband had left her; she was living with her only son. She gave everything she had to her son; property, house and ornaments to her daughter in law, hoping and believing that her children will take care of her in future.

But now she is in a state, which is really very disgusting and pathetic. She did not even got proper three meals a day, no good clothes to wear, and what she gets is humiliation and ignorance. After every two days, her daughter-in-law fights with her because that poor old lady never cleans the floor neatly or washes the clothes. She also sometimes get beaten up by her only son. Now her children are planning to send her to an old age home, where she’ll be all alone.

This is the condition of senior citizens now days. Children have forgotten their moral values, culture and even love for their parents. They have become so busy in their lives that they do not have time to take care of their parents.

We are a non profit charity (Ovarian Cancer Patient Charity Project L.L.C.)donating to uninsured gynecological and breast cancer patients in need of financial assistance. I am a 25 year old mother of two little girls. My husband and I have been desperately struggling to make ends meat the last 9 months. He works as a sales director for an insurance company, but his income is solely based on commissions. We drive one car, which he needs to make his sales and train agents. Because of our financial situation and childcare costs, I cant afford to work. We have tried to apply for government assistance but have been denied for many programs. We are trying to pay down our student loan debt which is now upwards of $25,000 , but with little money coming in we are barely scratching the surface, and so our good credit has been destroyed. We are barely making the bills every month and are living on donated food/toiletry items. We desperately need a helping hand in dealing with our loans and have no where else to turn. If you could find it in your heart to donate whatever amount to helping us overcome this terrifying situation we would be forever grateful. Hello! Let me introduce myself. I am a professional actor, musician, director, producer, teacher, and model.... In addition to that I am recovering from two mental health diagnosis and am in a program specifically to help those with my condition rehabilitate from chronic homelesssness. I am blessed with affordable housing, medications, doctors, etc. but- Due to my doctors recommendatation of not holding a regular job- I am constantly strapped for covering even the most basic of my financial needs- food, toilet paper, etc. But, I can deal with that. What I have a hard time dealing with is the fact that I have so much more to offer this world- I have a vision for my life- I am not my illness. I want to open a live theater complex with resturants specifically to reach out to the starving artisits and at risk young adults and teach them how to take PRIDE in themselves- Persistence Responsibility Interest Dedication, and Enthusiasm. I know that there is someone out there who will take a risk, and believe in me. I know that there is someone who believes, like I do, that God has a specific purpose for me being here, and that it is time for that vision to happen. I would love help of any kind- money, car, food, you name it- I'm ready to quit struggeling and start building the dream that God has given me! I know every detail of what I need to do- down to the color of the carpet and who to have on staff... Now I just need to get out of this financial slump and start living the abundant life! Last night I recieved a foreclosure letter from my bank. My wife and I have been in a bad spot since she lost her job and it's caused a snowball effect on our finances. We have a daughter on the way and we need a place to live! All the money we recieve will go straight to paying our back payments on the house and paying off other lingering debt we have.
