I'm a 40 year old married father of 2. Since the factory I worked at closed down 2 years ago the only work I've found is as a independent contractor for a delivery company. I don't make a lot of money at it and haven't been able to save any money keeping the bills paid. I have to provide my own van and fuel. Well that van has broken down. Transmission failed. My wife has taken a job in a gas station making minimal wage. I'm afraid that's not enough to pay the rent each month. I have no other options but to ask for help. I just need enough to get my van fixed or find a replacement soon. A bank loan is out of the question right now as we don't need anymore payments at the moment. I worked for a large internet bank for 8 years, it was a great job, I loved my job, but unfortunately I was made redundant, my role was telephone buisness development manager.
Since then I manage to get a job in I.T, but unfortunately my contract only temporary, it gave me my first taste of working in I.T.
Since then I have worked for a parcel delivery company and a supermarket stacking shelves, yep that's what it has came down to, the last job was temporary with the promise of being made permenant but it didn't happen.
I have a mortgage and 4 kids, spiralling debts and have almost been evicted from my home 3 times!
I dont want to be unemployed, its demeaning and degrading, I have valuable skills and I am a hard worker!
I just want to provide for my family and have a nice debt free life, isnt that what everyone wants?

I have a good telephone manner, I can use a p.c and I am consciensous and I consider myself to be a people person, I have also lately taken a security guard course at my local college.

I would ideally like to be earning around the £20.000 per annum salary, the bills wont pay themselves.

I dont drink/smoke or get out these days, just want to get by without a struggle.

My mother died a year ago and I am now alone with no family to help me. I was laid off from my delivery job the end of May 2009 and have been unable to get another job. I have filled out many applications and gone on interviews but I never hear back from anyone. I am not eligable for unemployment pay, have no savings and the church can't help me anymore because their donations are way down.

I am a single parent of two children, ages 16 and 14. I work full-time and attend school full-time as well. It has been very hard for me to keep my freezer and refrigerator full so that my children and I can eat. I have hardly provided for my family since the economy took a turn for the worse. I tried to apply for assistance to be able to provide food for my household, and was turned away because of my gross monthly income, which I think it's unfair how the system works against people who are trying to make a living for their family versus the ones who don't attempt to try for a part-time job even, nor further their education. Well, first let me thank everybody who donates. Here is my story. I'm a 38 year old man with a 9 year old son. I live in a very small town with no jobs. Seems God has forgotten me, and life is beyond unfair. My turn for the worse came 10 years ago, when I lost my firstborn son in the delivery room. He lived 5 minutes, and was buried the next day. I called into work, for a few days to grieve, and they told me to take as much time as I need. Within 3 days, the boss calls and tells me I'm fired for missing 3 days of work. I thought life couldn't get any worse than that. I was wrong.

Right about 3 years ago, I had just got out of college and found a job. My life was good, and I had a nice vehicle. I was driving home about 1 a.m. on a 70 mile per hour interstate. I saw no lights, I saw nothing but open road. Then instantly, I hit something hard and had a airbag in my face. Long story short, a couple was arguing on the side of the road. They had no hazard lights on their car, and the car was dark maroon, very hard to see. The male was holding a gun to the female, and when he saw my vehicle coming, he pushed her into the interstate. I hit her, and she died instantly. He is charged with murder, but he took two lives that night.

My vehicle was totaled, because her body damaged my V6 engine beyond repair, and the value compared to the cost equaled out even with insurance. So I didn't get a new vehicle, the insurance company simply paid off my truck. The police held me while investigating for 2 days. So the local newspaper wrote up the article as if I was a 'killer who runs people over'. The investigation showed I did nothing wrong, and witnesses on the scene with the couple admitted that the girls boyfriend pushed her.

I went into work that Monday morning, and my boss tells me that they have to fire me because my accident gave the company a 'bad name'. It's been 3 years, and the economy and job market is worse than ever. I can't find a job, and don't have a vehicle to drive to look for a job.

I need any help with donations, so I can move to a bigger city, one with a transit/ bus/ train system that I can get my own self around the city and look for work. Needless to say Christmas is coming soon and I have no money to buy my son anything. I have nothing. I hardly have any hope left. I have been an electronics engineer until two years ago when our company's continued down sizeing left me without a chair. While I actually am working its mostly min wage jobs and mostly under 40 hours. I have one daughter and my wife is now 5 months pregnant. We do manage to scrape some funds together to bring wife to her monthly check ups. However it is the cost of the delivery. Our debt is getting larger while our living expenses seem to grow. I plan to leave 10/01 with a rental truck towing my car. Another idea I had was to find a Class C motor home with a tow bracket on it for about the same as the truck rental buy that and drive to Texas in that with my stuff in it towing my car that way I would just need to put my stuff in storage and find a place to put my motor home for a while.

My cat Angel whom I have had for 14 years has been ill it may be Hyperthyroidism or Diabetes I need to get blood tests to know for sure.

I am 19 years old and I am currently 6 months pregnant with my first child, I am full-time student thanks to the Pell Grant and I hope to one day become a nurse. I am unemployed and have no support, I eat maybe two meals a day, and have been moving from place to place. I am truly miserable I know that I have put myself in this predicament but I need help getting out. I can barely afford gas to get to and from school which is less than a mile away, other than that I sit on a sofa all day looking for jobs on the internet, and applying but knowing that with a giant belly and only three months til delivery no one wants to hire me! I forgot to mention I put quarters in my car for gas to get to doctors appointments and I was supposed to go back for the Diabetes test but can not get there, I am grateful to have a car, but it also has so many problems that I could never afford to fix. I still need books for school, gas to get there, maybe some food, for now and am terrified at the thought of also needing to find a place for me and baby to live. It is the worst feeling to feel disabled, dependent, and stuck because you have no money at all. All I can do is pray, it feels horrible to beg and stoop to this level, but I am truly stuck. I just want the best for my baby when she arrives!

My only means of entertainment is my portable DVD player.I live on the street and have seen every movie the library has(most of them twice).I try every day to find work but it's not easy.
