Trip to New York, Exposure to the Arts

Posted by jadams on 2012-05-18 06:58:41

I am a member of my high school's swing choir. The swing choir is planning a trip to New York where we will perform at trump tower and see some Broadway shows. I have never been to New York. I live in a very small town and would love to have this experience. The cost is $1200. $275 is due in June. I have been working part time, but will not be able to make the deadline. With three people in my family in college, my parents cannot afford this expense. Please help me with this experience!

Fighting stigma against HIV/AIDS

The AIDS 2012
I would really like to go and as I missed the deadline for the sponsorship I now have to find the money myself to pay for the Flight, accommodation and travel. there is no way even if I got a job now that I would be able to raise that amount of money.
This only comes around every two years and this is the first time I have felt strong enough to go.

Please keep me from being on the cold streets

Posted by rybarra08 on 2012-02-29 08:58:42

Hello my name is Richard. A little about me. I am 37 yo/male living in WI USA and in need of help to pay for my rent. I moved to WI from TX in hopes of starting a better life for myself. I thought the person I that had offered me a place to stay until spring was going to be true to their word. Unfortunately that was not the case. The job I had at the time was one just a temp job to help enable me to contribute while I was staying with them and allow me to look for one within my profession. I was abruptly told that I had 3 weeks to leave their house before I would be removed. This was someone that I had known for well over 11 years and never thought something like that would happen. These were the only people I knew in the sate. At the time I had been working the temp job for a little over 2 months and at the rate I was making with the company there was little to know way I would be able to pay for deposits much less rent of a small apartment in the area. But with that I set out to make it happen somehow. So I continued the temp job and took other additional small jobs, fix it type things for extra cash. I was able to make the deadline and move into my own place which was actually best for me anyways.

I continued to work at the temp job but in doing so ended up getting continual and worsening respiratory infections due to the very poor air quality. I never intended to stay there for this long but with little time to devote to my job search within my profession I had no other choice. Months went by and the condition simply got worse. I was told by my doctor that I needed to find some other line of work and get out of the horrible work environment that I was working in as I was getting very close to pneumonia. Two weeks later it happened. I was out of work for the following 2 weeks. During that time I was forced to make the decision to leave the job and quit. This was very tough for me as I am not a quitting type what so ever. I had been raised to stick it out. But due to a medical condition that I have I simply cannot do that, for risk of compounding the issue.

So now here I am. I am a month late with my rent and facing eviction. I have no family or friends to lean on for help. I am currently enrolling to further my education to be a professional driver which will assure my future but for now I still need my apartment. My rent is $660 per month. I need to be able to cover February and March rent or I will end up being evicted which at that point will have no place to go but find a place (during winter) out on the street. So I plead with you to please find a place in your heart and help me with my problem. Doing this is so tough for me. I have never had assistance like this in my life. I have always been the one to do it on my own. This time however I simply cannot do it without help from you.

Please.

God Bless.

Losing House

Posted by GregSell on 2012-02-06 16:58:39

I am unemployed and the government wants my house.
The property tax is behind by $1,300. My past employer isn't paying me the $900 she owes. She said it won't be an issue - it is now because the deadline has past.
I don't have unemployment left to use. What jobs I do get don't last long. I am listed with 14 placement job companies.
I have a pacemaker that limits physical jobs.
Please assist me:

Sincere Dire Need

Posted by PanSui on 2012-01-31 09:58:00

Dear Sir or Madam,

I'm a single parent that is experiencing financial hardship due to: job loss, health problems, medical bills etc.

I have fallen behind on my payments because my income has dropped considerably, and I have been unable to work for 2 years now. I'm behind on my rental and utilities. My landlord has been kind enough to help for the last 6 months, but we have been given a deadline of March 1st. My elderly parents depend on me as well.
The amount would help pay 6 months ahead, including utilities, and would keep a roof over our heads. This would allow me some time to keep working toward finding a solution for my situation.
Please consider my request.

I want to take this time to thank you for your generosity and support. There are no words to express the depth of my gratitude. Thank you for listening....
And no matter what you decide may you be continuously blessed for making a difference in peoples lives. Just the mere thought of acts of kindness still exists just warms my heart.
Our needs are dire.

Good Samaritan Needs Help

Posted by samaritan1 on 2011-12-23 20:58:32

To be honest, I never thought I would find myself coming here asking for help. I am usually the one who relatives and friends usually come to for help.

I am usually more than happy to help out anyone in need. My mother set a great example for us. She would always give up her last dollar to help someone else in need although we were poor.

Growing up I didn’t understand why she would do it but now being out on my own and struggling to make ends meet I now realize that everyone falls on hard times. That there is nothing wrong with asking for help if you really need it, and in turn it becomes your obligation to help someone else who is in need.

So here I am asking for help. I am in a situation where I have to move. The problem is that I am up against a deadline (January 2012) and although I have been able to come up with some cash(enough for one months rent). I still need a little assistance with coming up with at least an additional $700 to pay for the security deposit. I have asked everyone I know but because it is the holidays they are strapped for cash. I realize that it is the holidays and because of the economy everyone is struggling. However, anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Christmas Help Needed

Posted by deanac24 on 2011-12-22 23:58:31

I am at the end of my rope and dont know where else to turn. Christmas is in a few days and I dont have anything for my kids, not even Christmas dinner. I do not have a full time job but I thought I could do some freelance work here and there. But I barely made $20. My kids are ages 19 and 11. I know Christmas isnt about gifts but I was hoping to at least get each of them a little something. I also tried signing up for a food basket but I missed the deadline. I do not like to ask for help but now I am desperate. I do not what to give you in return for helping me but if you need anything I would help in a second. Thank you for your time!

I Need Help Paying My Last tuition installment.

Posted by Joyss on 2011-11-16 18:58:11

Hello,
This is the first time I have ever begged for money so I don't even know how to beg for it! Here we go, I am a college student, I tried fafsa they gave nothing supposedly my mother earned enough she is a mother of 4 and currently unemployed, doctor said she can't work anymore but the social security keeps rejecting her application. A single mother who is very ill had one surgery back in March and a heart catheterization because of a blocked artery this past November 4th. She has another surgery coming up
first week of December due to a paralyzed vocal cord. Obviously, there is no money at all. I enrolled in a payment plan at my school. I was working during the summer but ended up laid off from work like many. My earnings went to helping my mother with my brothers’ expenses. I managed to pay my first two payments at school but today was the deadline for the second to last payment. The previous one was only 2 weeks ago (I don’t know how the school expects for you to wind up with a chunk of money in two weeks). I ended up paying back in October 26 $311.75 for the tuition payment. Also, 412.50 for my rent and utilities on the side about 100. I was freaking out after that since I ended up with $5. I got on craigslist listed my belongings but only managed to sell one pair of diamond earrings. The pawnshop wouldn't even want to sell my other diamond white gold earrings!

In the end, I went this morning at 9am (est) and paid $60. I have a hold now on my account for not paying the full amount, which means I won't be able to register for classes on spring if I don't come up with $563.50 plus a late fee by December 9. Please help!!!!!!! My main concern is my college payment. I really need it and I tried loans but I don’t qualify and I am constantly applying for jobs still nothing there yet.

I will highly appreciate any donations and I will keep those who helped me updated on this situation and will provide proof of payment to each and
everyone who donates.

Thank You for your time,

The amount needed is $563.50.

Keep the electric on for my children please

Posted by please_help_me on 2011-08-26 23:58:01

I am desperate, I can not think of what else to do! I have two beautiful little girls whom I love dearly with all my heart. I am doing my best to provide for them but it never seems to be enough. For the past 7 months I have been paying our electric bill the day before the shut-off deadline; this month with school supplies and all I can not see where the money will come to pay it as our rent is also past due. This is certainly not the life I wanted for my precious daughters, they are wonderful girls and they deserve so much better than this. If there is any possible way for you to help us it would be so extremely appreciated! Can you please help us?
Thank you! May God bless who help!

Help Request for 28 Days & Counting

Posted by LovingAuntie on 2011-07-22 00:58:59

As I was writing on my niece’s behalf, I felt to submit a request of my own.

In April, my unemployment benefits were exhausted. May and June of this year found me without enough cash flow to pay my storage fees. However, beginning in late August, I will be receiving retirement benefits, which will allow me to once again maintain a balance until such time I am generating sufficient income to have a place of my own and permanently remove my possessions out of storage.

While I remain diligent in my efforts to secure employment, I am still unemployed and my deadline for paying off the balance of my storage fees is August 18, 2011 in the amount of $822.18 (including late, lock cutting, lien and other fees), incurred during the months of May to August.

The space holds my family’s lifetime of irreplaceable documents and other valuable and very useful practical possessions, representing for me a legacy of work and living I’ve accumulated and experienced these 62 years, and intend to use for at least another 30 years. Many of the books, art work and other one-of-a kind collections I plan to leave for my sons and grandsons.

Vision with me that $30.00 from 28 people is sent to me at least once daily doing it for me. So, if you find it in your heart to give, and your fiscal resources oblige, know that any and all amounts of monetary donations are humbly received and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and effort.

Facing Eviction

I have never publicly posted a call for help, but figured it was worth a shot.

Here's my situation; I'm a 24 year old male who has part-time employment making $9.00 an hour working about 30 hours a week. Between rent, electric, gas and phone, I can't afford everything. Between keeping the electric on, paying back rent and keeping my phone on I would need 1050.00 but am begging for and appreciate whatever people can give. (I did apply for food stamps and am receiving $100.00 a month in foodstamps).

My deadline to pay rent is the end of this month (May 2011)

I have no family that can help, nor do I have friends or anyone in my support system who has the money to even loan to me. I don't have many options, and hope that someone out there sees this. I realize that my story is sort of general so if you have any questions please leave me a comment. Many thanks to all who can help!

Last day before eviction....

Posted by neilm on 2011-03-20 15:58:40

Good day my fellow human beings,

I don't know what else to do. I know you hear stories of people pleading for help but this is the real deal and I don't know where else to turn.

I need $500 by 3pm Monday, March 21st, 2011 or else my landlord is going to proceed with evicting me and not to sound all sappy but I have nowhere to go once this happens. I seek a little boost to get me back on track.

I have lost faith in the human condition as it seems everyone these days is all about me, me, me. I give when I can. People forget what it would be like if the shoe was on the other foot and lost that "brotherhood"

So if you could help out and help me reach my $500 deadline I would be forever indebted to you all and you will have helped me see that yes, fellow humans care.

I live in Toronto, Canada.

Thanks,
Neil M
