Please help!

HI, my name is Michael. For the longest time I've been wanting to do something about my teeth. I can't remember the last time I smiled in a picture or go out for a meal without worrying about what I can or can't eat or chew. I would like to feel normal again one day. But at the moment that's the least of my problems with eviction about a month away we are stuck with two small children (2 & 5) and no money thanks to mounting bills and benefit cuts. Last year I was forced to leave my job due to health problems. I'm waiting to have surgery on my hip in a month or so and hopefully I can get back to work before Christmas. I have never done this before but I am desperate, I feel I let my family down. Any donation however small would be appreciated we have nothing left to sell.Would be willing to pay back any loans once I'm back on my feet again. Thank you.

Help A Navy Family Get Home!

Posted by iRoman on 2012-05-19 18:58:10

We are raising money to help Veterans and their Families that are in Need! Currently we are focused on a Navy family that is in dire straights! The husband is a Veteran who has just been released early from the Navy due to government budget cuts. The wife has just undergone hip and leg surgery and is currently disabled. They have two small children ages 1 and 3. They are currently in debt and have been living out of a hotel. They lost military housing a few weeks ago. Also their car has broken down. They are currently in Virginia. They were kicked out of the hotel and as of now they are literally on the sidewalk. They have no place to go, and they have no money. They need money so that they can travel back to Illinois where their families are! Please please help! Help a Navy Family get home. All donations will be used to help this family and many others like it!

A Twist in the Road, One Step Toward Hopelessness

Quiet giving means to help others without fanfare, without recognition. I've done this all my life. From buying school clothes for my childrens' friends, paying for glasses for the cashier at our local store, or paying an elderly stranger's grocery bill...God tells us to help each other, no matter how small. Now the shoe is on the other foot. I am in need. I am scared and now understand how it is to wake up every morning with fear and anxiety hanging over my head. I am a teacher who has been a victim of budget cuts 5 times in my career. It has taken me up to two years to find another full-time job each time it happened. I lived off of early withdrawals from my teaching retirement fund while I worked part-time jobs during those times. It is all gone now. I am single mother with two children, no alimony or child support. We have always struggled, but managed to make do with what we had. It wasn't easy, but we were able to keep our home for 16 years now. I have experienced a debilitating illness over the past year and will not be able to return to teaching. I never thought while I sat in college studying for my career, that I would one day be virtually penniless with no place to turn to. I have sold all valuables and now have nothing left to pay the bills or keep our home. I know God hears me, but perhaps the journey is one of empathy for others and of understanding true suffering. I am thankful for the journey, and the lesson is difficult. I have failed my children and myself. I was willing to accept my fate, until a friend told me about this website. If you find it in your heart to help me and my family, I assure you we will pay a portion back to others here in WV who are suffering as well. One day, when I am back on my feet, I would like to be a philanthropist, creating a non-profit organization using quiet giving. Thank you for listening, sometimes it helps just to get it out. Thank you also for your generosity and understanding. Even if you choose not to help my partiuclar family, please be aware of other hard-working families in your own community who may need your help too. Have a blessed day, Mrs. Birdlegs Please help, my family matters too.

10 Things for My Babies

Posted by birdlegs on 2012-05-12 17:58:10

To my babies,

1) You will always be safe.
2 There is no such thing as a Boogie Man.
3) You can always come home.
4) I will always be here for you.
5) There will always be laughter and singing and dancing.
6) The sun always comes up,even on cloudy days.
7) You will never have to worry, I can fix it.
8) Study hard and you will go somewhere in life.
9) Be good to yourself and others.
10) When you're wrong, say your sorry.

16 years that flew by...

To my teenagers,

1) Danger may find you, be stronger, faster, and smarter.
2) You will sometimes be afraid, but I will comfort you.
3) Home is where your heart is, no matter where, no matter the circumstances that seperate you.
4) I will always be where you are when you need me.
5) There may be days of quiet and the dancing subdued, but sometimes you see a rainbow on the rainiest days.
6) Sometimes the sun stays hidden behind the clouds, but its warmth is still felt down here on the ground.
7) Sometimes you have to fix it yourself, but I will stand beside your while you try.
8) Study hard anyway, even if your dreams are not what you wished for, the journey there is the just a small twist in the road.
9) Love with integrity and honor, even when it's difficult, even when it's not returned. Believe in love.
10) Forgive yourself when you ask others to forgive you. You are worth it.

I hope you will not see the struggles we face, the house we are in danger of losing, or the tears on my pillow late at night. I hope you never see my quiet desperation and uncertainty. I hope you never know that I’ve lost my job to budget cuts 5 times, just like I have now. I hope you cannot see the moments of hopelessness in my heart and how much I have aged in such a short time. I hope you remember how strong your Mama is and how I would do anything for you both. There is no SuperMom, just an ordinary Mom in extraordinary circumstances. And one last thing…..when you are given to, it is always with a promise that you will in some way give back.

Help me protect these children from future abuse!

Posted by justiceforamy on 2012-05-10 18:58:50

At the mother's written request, I am sheltering my daughter Amy, who has been brutalized, tortured and sexually abused in horrific ways for years by the psychotic child molester and fledgling killer, Dustin Rowe. You will read in this blog the words spoken by Dustin, who cuts the heads off of living animals because he loves death. He dreams about it, he draws about killing and when a fresh animal victim succumbs to his knife, he thinks it’s “cool to see the bodies wiggle around”. I am in fear for her life- we have no money and no way to keep a roof over our heads, let alone mount a legal defense. Please help us-any donation, however small is greatly appreciated!

Social Work Student needing help!

Posted by zoe292001 on 2012-05-09 07:58:43

I am currently struggling financially with completing my Social Work Masters at university, due to a lack of funding due to government cuts.

I am unable to continue to work part time on evenings as I am now on my own with my 2 children aged 4 and 2 and I have no family local.

I would appreciate some help more than anything. I believe I would make a fantastic Social Worker and a good career would provide my children with a much better life.

Car payment

Posted by arcaneacro on 2012-04-24 22:58:28

I am 28.I had my car paid off, but then got into an accident trying o avoid hitting a dog running across the street. I have to start completely over on a car loan which I faithfully make monthly payments to that cuts my pay check in half. Not to mention car insurance is full coverage now. I really want to pay off this car so I can start taking some college courses without debt. Also I would really love to take a trip to Disney land. I have a really stressful hard job and I just want to go to a happy place before I get too old. I feel bogged down with these few bills over my head. If someone who didn't have to worry about money could please donate to me it would really change my life and I could have a second chance. I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

Family of three about to lose home

Posted by kaz022 on 2012-04-07 23:58:51

I am a 27 year old college graduate who moved back home with my parents. I studied to become a teacher. My efforts to find a full-time position haven't been successful due to state cuts in education funding. I work three jobs to sustain myself - including substitute teaching. My parents were fired from their jobs this year and only my father qualified for unemployment. We will be losing our home this year because together we cannot make mortgage payments on top of utilities and insurance. We are now in the process of selling everything we can in order to save the roof over our heads. Please help us if you can, and God bless.

We haven't been able to go grocery shopping in almost a month. We have been eating peanut butter and jelly and raman noodles. We also haven't been able to pay for this months rent. Hello all,

Like so many people on this site everyone is in a bad situation, I too have fallen by the waist side in this economic crisis.

I'm a healthy, young woman who has a family to provide for I am the sole supporter/contributor. They depend on me for everything from shelter, food, clothing, transportation to/from, etc. I became unemployed several months ago because of budget cuts. I took heed to my elder's warning me to save, save, save for a rainy day...well, those rainy days have since turned into months and the bills are piling high up to the ceiling. We are on the verge of being evicted, electricity being turned off (very necessary because two of my family members are diabetic, must keep the insulin cold), not to mention being able to provide the medication for my sick loved ones and the car(which our main source of transportation) being REPO'd.

I have been on it seems like 100 interviews, but to no avail. I have been doing odd jobs here and there, but they come once in a blue moon. Nothing stable has surfaced.

It is a struggle out here. I just ask that you kind people be willing to donate whatever you may have to my family and I. It would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

God Blessed!

Help maintain a place for our children.

Hello,

As someone who is in a leadership position at YourCompany, I know that you’re pressed for time. But please, could you give me your full attention for the next 30 seconds as you read this letter?

You see, the children at Plainfield 5 Star Gym would like to continue to have a place to call theirs this year. But you know how it is: government budget cuts, on top of too-small budgets in the first place, have combined to make it impossible for them to be able to do so.

Unless someone steps in to help them. And that’s where you come in.

The benefits of being at Plainfield 5 Star Gym are priceless: teaching children about the wonders of self esteem and motivating them to learn about their ability to achieve goals with discipline is one of the best ways they can learn about themselves and develop their interests, leading to future careers in hundreds of fields.

By helping the children at Plainfield 5 Star Gym to be able to have a place to retreat , you are not just helping them, but you’re also investing in the long-term future health of your community and even your company. A healthy, well-trained workforce is the most valuable asset at any company, and by helping our children to have gym they so desperately desire, you will be planting seeds for future employees loyal to your company.

Not only that, by contributing you will also be receiving free advertising and positive public relations in the community. That’s because we will post your name in the program for the boxing events , as well as on any materials produced promoting the amateur events. To top it all off, we will have a “Partner Wall,” bearing the names of all the contributors to the gym, which will be prominently displayed at the boxing events itself.

By contributing towards the boxing gym in Plainfield you can help our children immeasurably, receive free advertising and promotion for your company and feel good about it all!

Would you please help? We’re are out funds to pay the rent for our gym. We need to raise a total of $50,000.00, which will cover the cost of 50 children from the community to attend without cost, rent, equipment rentals, presentation tables and chair rentals, printed materials like entry forms and flyers .

Any amount you’re willing to donate will be greatly appreciated!

Please contact Rich Johnson at 908 447 7174 to find out how we can work together to give our children the best opportunities to succeed while giving your company the exposure it deserves for helping us out.

Hope to hear from you and thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Rich Johnson

PS: In lieu of a financial donation, we’d be happy to accept any donation in form of donated items or services. Please contact Rich Johnson 908 447-7174 to find out what items or services will be needed to maintain a place for our children.

My name is Travis and I need a little help for my family. The hospital that I have been working for the last 11 years is expanding and as a result, they have cut my pay by about 5k a year. I'm not a doctor, and I get paid about what a teacher makes. The problem I’m having is that I would use that money to pay off the dept that would build up over time. We all have unexpected things happen in our day to day cost of living and I just cannot seem to get ahead. My wife and I are trying to raise two kids and we are breaking even because of the pay cuts. I have found extra ways to make money and I’m trying to stick to our budget, but it is never enough or steady. I'm slowly getting behind in everything.

Thanks for taking the time to care.
Travis.

Struggling to Pay for College

Posted by AmbitiousCollegeStudent on 2011-11-25 01:58:42

Hi!
I'm in college, this is my second year, and I am struggling to pay for school. Last year, financial aid covered everything, but because of budget cuts this year, I wound up having to owe a LOT of money. I work and every single paycheck goes to pay for school, I don't keep a penny of it. But it is still not enough. The end of the semester is nearing and I am not able to register for my classes for next semester until I pay the remaining balance. The remaining balance is $3400 and there is no way that I can think to pay that much money by December 14. I've been praying and praying, and my mom is not able to help because she's on maternity leave and I also have 5 younger siblings at home that she has to take care of. Any little bit will help, & God will surely bless you for it. Please help me!!

PLEASE HELP MY FAMILY OF TEN

Hi,
Im a 47 year old woman who recently graduated with my Masters degree in clinical psychology. After graduation I completed my 3000 hours of internship. Unfortunatley I lost my job, due to mental health cuts in my county. My husband is disabled with scoliosis, but was denied disability, he is appealing. My oldest son his wife and their one year old daughter lost their home and had to move in with us. Then my oldest daughter and her husband and new baby (born 10/03/11)moved in due to lay offs. I also have two dependent sons. I apply to job postings every day, I have been on thirty interviews in the past two years. My oldest son is in college, but none of the other adults in the home have been able to find employment. We live in San Bernardino county with a very high unemployment rate. We hired a lawyer to help us with refinancing, but after paying them (and them discovering the loan was country wide and fraudulant) they only increased our monthly payments. We are doing everything we can to avoid becoming homeless, but we are being told we dont make enough to keep our home. I dont know what our family will do or where we will go. If only I could find someone who could help us until I can find work. We wont have a Thanksgiving or Christmas this year, We can barely keep the babies in diapers, we often go hungry, Our electricity has been disconnected, and we have shut off notices for the remaining utilities. We have one barely running car, no insurance, no cell phone, no anything left! Please help. I cant accept through pay pal because we are overdrawn in the bank.

I'm 25 and already feel like I'm 50. Unlucky breaks.

I don't know how I feel about this. I guess this is what happens when you get desperate? I used to be the one donating to causes. I haven't done that for a while.

I am 25 year old woman who used to look forward to life. I have a partner of 8 years, who also has seen happier times. In the last 12 months I have been diagnosed with clinical depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and panic attacks. It's paralyzing.

We both finished high school in 2004, soon after, my Nanna whom I loved like my own mother got a brain tumor. I was forced to quit my retail job, look after her (she had no money/retirement) although I don't regret it. I looked after her. She died 5 months later and I have been grieving since. It was very traumatic.

My partner and I decided to start saving for a home in 2006. We bought a very old apartment in 2008. We were both working jobs we hated 4 hours away from our home, but it paid the bills.

Then my partner incurred a life long injury in his back. He had to choose between work and his health. He lost his job eventually and I lost my job during cuts. Our parents were paying for our home for a few months.

Then my partners Dad got cancer. We both had to go on welfare (which was the most embarrassing moment of my life, I literally wept when the woman was treating us like the scum of the earth all because we had fallen on hard times). We ended up moving home to ease some of the pressure and to help his Dad out.

We found renters for the apartment in time, but the rent is not enough to cover the costs. We are in debt to a loan taken out to help us pay bills when my partner hurt his back/was jobless.

I then had a very public breakdown earlier this year. I haven't worked since February. I went to the doctors with our last remaining money to help myself. That's when I was diagnosed with mental illness.

My partner eventually found a job that accepted him and his life long back injury, but it pays half of what it used to. He's working hard, he does what he can. He does extra work on the side. He rarely gets a day off. And yet our heads are just above water.

The thing is, we're 25 and don't have any silly consumer debt. We did everything right, we followed the rules, we studied hard and we worked hard. And we just get tossed aside when we're not needed anymore.

I know there is a lot of people out there asking for help. I know, I am always so overwhelmed by the world and it's problems. I wish I could make a difference.

I am asking for any donations, as little as you can spare. It will make a huge difference in our lives at the moment, it will provide some financial relief. I will be able to afford to continue to go get medical help, same with my partner. And we'll be able to keep our apartment that we worked so hard for.

Thank you.
