Posted by lnh88 on 2012-05-08 10:58:08

hi im not sure how promising this website is but i guess we shall see. first off im not begging for money but i please ask that you add me to your prayer because i could sure use it. here is my story: I am 24 years old i have been working full time since i was 16 and had my own place the day i turned 18 my mom raised 3 kids all alone so she taught me to be independent when i turned 20 i was diagnoosed with Crohns disease i only had few flare ups and for the most part stayed in remission as of april 4 2012 my world has been turned upside down not only am i not in remission anymore but my body is rejecting medication which is resulting in me losing my intestines and having a colostimy bag for the rest of my life but the hospital ran a ct scan on me when i was in the hospital for a 3 1/2 week stay and found one large lump and 4 small lumps in my left breast and a large mass on my left ovary, at this point they arent concerned about the mass on my ovary but the large lump on my breast doesnt look good at all. i am now deeply depressed and just asking for a prayer i am home from the hospital now but i cant pay my bills or afford my medication all my bills are now past due and i havnt had meds in 2 days i dont know what i will do next ive applied for medicaid and awaiting my approval my dr adviced me to apply for disability which i did but it is a 3-6 month process on top of all these health problems i have, now i have all these bills that i look at over and over everyday i have never not been able to pay my bills and not been able to buy food and now i have nothing im negative in my account because my car insurance gets directly taken out... sorry so long guess i just needed to vent even if you cant spare one dollar please all i ask is for a prayer i never thought at age 24 i will be dealing with this but like my mother used to tell me "god will not give you what you cant handle" so please just keep me in mind when saying a prayer

Help Bring Dog Scouts to the UK!

Posted by shootingstardsa on 2012-05-07 21:58:25

Positive "Pet Parenting" is the main goal of the Dog Scouts of America. Troops have and are still forming all across the US and there has been a significant decrease in the amount of dogs being given up to the pound as unwanted or untrainable. With the success of DSA Troops in the US, DSA Troop 188 has selected a pet parent/Dog Scout team to go to the UK. An AP article published in The Day Newspaper of New London, CT and Norwich Bulletin, Norwich, CT has received many many viewings in the UK. The article can be found at: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/dog-scouts-america-troops-22-states-16064429
.

DSA Troop 188 wants to act now to capture the attention and passion of the UK dog owners and dog lovers. DSA Troop 188 has already been in touch with dog clubs in the UK that wish to partner with the team when they arrive to facilitate the DSA Troops formations.

DSA Troop 188 needs $5,000 USD in order to sent the ambassadorial team over. This covers the settlement costs for both the human and the Dog Scout and transport fees.

Won't you please help fellow dog lovers, dog owners and the dogs and help reduce the amount of dogs in pounds? Any little bit you can give will help tremendously. Thank you in advance for your support, you/your company will be mentioned in the Troop newsletter and on here.

Dog's lives are short enough, let's do all we can to help them enjoy their time with us.

SUFFERING FROM CROHN'S DISEASE, NEED HELP!

Posted by jenbotch on 2012-04-27 13:58:05

I just got released from the hospital this week after having been there for a week. I also have a condition called pyoderma gangrenasum which causes debilitating ulcers on my legs. I went in to have a doc see my ulcer because it had gotten to the point where it was painful to walk. They took blood tests and found a slew of other things wrong. They found that I was Anemic, low Vitamin D right off the bat. Upon further tests including colonoscopy, CT scan, Enema and more they found a blockage and a small hole in my colon so I was admitting and pumped with medication. I started feeling better and after a week they finally let me go home. I am still on multiple medications and am struggling with getting things back to normal. My Crohn's disease has made my life a living hell at times. Some days I can't eat without pain, I suffer from arthritis like symptoms that make it painful to walk, it wakes me up at night so I have difficulty sleeping and now on top of that I have become moody and depressed. I am unable to work and have no income. I am in the process of retrying to get disability after being denied because I am only in my 30s and they think I can still work. Stress makes my condition worse and I cant help but be stressed every day. I get very little relief. I have a wonderful fiance who has been struggling to pay for all of our living expenses on his own and it is making his life dramatically harder as well. I need help. I am asking for your grace and kindness right now. It is increasingly difficult to be able to afford just daily items such as soap and shampoo, not to mention medications because I am unable to afford insurance. Please if there is any amount you can give, it would be wholeheartedly appreciated. I am in dire straights right now.. Thank you for taking the time out to read this..

Need help- medical bills for my autistic son overwhelming us

Posted by Treefrog on 2012-04-20 17:58:20

I am a mother to 2 wonderful boys. The oldest is 7 and is autistic. Insurance covers only a small portion of therapy and resent EEG and CT scans. I can't work due to taking care of baby and being called to my son's school often to help with outbursts. My husband works very hard but we can't seem to stay afloat. We are now behind with utilities, rent and school loans. Would like to get caught up and eventually start to save for a house. This would benefit my son do much! He needs his own space. Would like to make a room with mats, large balls, tunnels and swing.

Your help would greatly appreciated! God bless!

A family in turmoil.

Posted by elbeecee on 2012-04-06 04:58:09

I am the eldest daughter of two ill parents. I have 2 siblings who have been the caregivers to my parents for several years now. It all started when my father got ill in 2007 with a need of open heart surgery. After that surgery he was never the same. He was a very successful emergency room physician and made very good money. However, he was off for several months from work due to his recovery period. Much of his savings/investments were depleted as he was the only bread winner in the family. My brother and sister had just gotten an apartment and were to start college when my father got ill. They withdrew from school just as quickly as we moved them into their apartment in order to help my mother take care of dad. My father attempted to return to work, but he was still having chest pain and major depression. In September of 2008 he was in the hospital again and needed heart stents to open up blockages. After that situation he physically could not go back to work. He was weak, depressed, and very withdrawn from life. My mother, bless her heart, tried to find ways to make some cash. She sold many pieces of her jewelry to try and pay bills. Regardless of what she profited, she was unable to fulfill the mounting medical bills, credit card bills, car payments, insurance bills, etc.
It wasn't long before she became gravely ill. In the summer of 2010 my mother had succumbed to kidney failure and had to be on kidney dialysis permanently. She had neglected to take care of herself while trying to take care of my father and their financial woes. Along with the financial woes, there were back taxes that were still owed and of course were impossible to pay, their house was falling apart--still is. By the end of Spring 2011, my mother got so ill and was on a ventilator at least 4 times in a 2 week period due to her lungs filling up with fluid. Finally it was discovered that she had endocarditis (infection in heart)that had ravaged one of her heart valves. This required open heart surgery and replacement of the defected valve. The endocarditis stemmed from an infected temporary dialysis catheter. She was in the hospital for over a month and a half or so. Needless to say she was confused, lost tons of weight, and lost the ability to walk or care for herself. She was placed in a nursing home for rehab, but several more stays in the hospital only made her fall several steps back on her rehab and she never has fully recovered. It was discovered that she also had a tumor on one of her kidneys and her kidney was removed in the Fall of 2011 and supposedly it was all contained and it was early stage renal (kidney) carcinoma (cancer). While my mother was in the hospital my father had trouble breathing and I took him to the hospital. It as discovered he was in kidney failure and they both ended up in the hospital at the same time. Now my father is on permanent kidney dialysis.
Now fast forward to present day April 6, 2012. My mother's dialysis shunt would not stop bleeding and she was taken to the emergency room. She also complained of right leg pain and ultimately she ended up with a CT angiogram. This test revealed she not only had some blockage in one of her arteries in her leg, but that she had metastatic cancer to her liver, lungs, and a site near her spleen. Of course we are devastated.
They have no money. The money they do get is always depleted as soon as they get it from Medicare. My mother's social security check went straight to the nursing home and still was not enough to cover her bill. My father would have to pay over $1,000 a month because Medicare would only pay for several weeks. Since she has been in the hospital now for almost 2 weeks, we have pulled her out of the nursing home because the expected us to pay over $180 A DAY to keep her spot at the nursing home.
Now we are faced with a surgery to fix her leg, a plan for cancer treatment, and no suitable place for my mother to live. Their current home is in shambles and I mean SHAMBLES. Roof leaks and is falling apart. I assume there is some black mold lingering. No central air or heat as their units are broke. Plus large amounts of stuff--my mother also was a hoarder. The house is disgusting and it has been hard to clean up with out major assistance and with constant trips to the hospital who has ample time (?). They live in a small town and it is very hard to simply get a dumpster to throw many items away. The house would have to be completely gutted and redone. The floors are sinking in and it is very dangerous. They don't have the funds to fix any of it and nor do I.
I have missed work several times over the last year and more with FMLA, but never have enough PTO to fully cover my own losses.
My siblings have yet to start their lives. They have been with my parents ever since 2007 to help them with everything. Even when my mother was in a nursing home my siblings and my dad would go see my mom every single day--we just didn't trust the care of the nursing home and rightly so because she developed a bed ulcer on her heel after the wound care nurse said it was getting better--not even close! And yes the blocked artery in her leg and her bed ulcer on her heel are related. The wound care nurse and the Dr. for the nursing home should have caught this medical issue.
So life has been tough, but reading about it doesn't even give it justice. We need financial assistance, a new home or help to fix it--we need a lot of help. I want my brother and sister to finally get on their own feet and do what they want to do. I feel bad for them because I was able to finish college and have a career, a husband, and a home. They have yet to accomplish their goals and it makes me sad and sick to see them so depressed. They are in their late 20s and my parents are both 65 y.o.
If anyone has a kind heart, I promise you I'm not lying. I have proof of all I have written about and I swear on everything--my family, my husband, etc. that this is all real. Thank you for your time and interest. If you can't help at least please pray for us.

I'm trying this BegsList as desperation as I don't know what to do. My wish is to get them a nice clean place to live and live their last years worry free.

my eldest sister of 48 was rushed to the hospital for stomach pain.Until now,she is not undergoing on operation because a CT SCAN must be done first,we all contributed for the payment of her hospital bill and at the moment we are all broke, her siblings. We cannot start with the rest of what is needed because of a CT SCAn. We sought help on our town mayor but his donation is still not enough for it...We do not have any medical card. We are basically on grass root level income. I am seeking help for anyone who can help my sister. She is very thin now..I love her so much...Thank you

Please help us save her life. Shes in the Philippines at the Cebu Doctors Hospital. She had been in the hospital since Nov. 18,2011. She has a hole in her heart (estimated to repair @$25,000) since she was a baby, and now shes 10 years old. The Doctors said because of her heart problem, she now has bacteria in her brain, and she needs treatment to kill the bacteria in her brain before they can fix her heart. The medicine she had been taking cost $73.45 a day. Also, the hospital total as of 12/2/11 is $2400. We cant afford her everyday bills. She has had a CT scan two times, but the bacteria is still there. She missed the medicine twice because our sister didnt have money to buy, my sister and her husband income is only $60.00 a month. We help her, but we cant afford everything. She has another CT scan on Dec. 9,2011 for $250. If the doctors are unable to remove the bacteria with medicine they will need to operate at a cost of about $1500. Please help us, we appreciate any amount you can send. God Bless You! Thank you so much! Please help us save her life.
I hope you all understand that the monthly income and the hospital bills are much lower in the Philippines than they are in the United States but there is no medical insurance and the family in the USA just cant come up with enough money.
Our nieces name is Rhea Mea Jane Arinduque and her doctor names are Dr. Poca Nayumi & Dr. Nilo Vergara and the phone number at the hospital is 63-32-255-5555 or 63-32-215-5555.
Anything will help! Any aid in any amount would be beneficial and greatly appreciated!

Need Help with Electric or Food

Posted by cntrygrlgray on 2011-11-07 23:58:35

Hello, I have stage 4 colon cancer in both of my lungs along with other health issues. I do not like asking for help and I am sorry for needing to. I have not able to work since being diagnosed with colon cancer in Nov 2005 at the age of 38. I had surgery in Dec 2005 to remove 12 inches of my colon and was never given chemo. In Feb 2006 it was suspected that the cancer had spread to my female organs and I had a full hysterectomy in March 2006. There is no record of any biopsy performed on the massive cysts. In Feb 2009 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in both lungs. I do chemo treatments as needed to hopefully prolong my life. My doctors said surgery or radiation were not options for me, it would remove to much good lung tissue and cause severe breathing issues or worse. I have diabetes with numbers 200+ and take 6+ shots per day, high blood pressure, hypothyroid, and lower lung disease/COPD. I have been diagnosed with severe Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease which according to my every 3 month CT scans is progressing. My gallbladder and pancreas no longer functioning. I have terrible Neuropathy caused by the chemo and diabetes and I am allergic to Lyrica that might would help.

We are not going to have much of the holidays this year, if at all. I am not worried about that. We moved into this house and have had issue after issue with the heating and ac unit. The homeowners are not doing what they need. We have been paying $400+ electric bills in addition to rent, gas and water/sewer. We have applied for help but have about $15 to much income. We really could use some help with the electric or anything else you choose. I can provide the account numbers and phone numbers if you want, even a few dollars helps a lot.

If you cannot help there we could use help with food and/or personal items. I have hardly been eating for a variety of reasons. One being we do not have a lot of food. I drink a lot of milk, or try to, because it helps my stomach not to hurt and sometimes it is all I can handle. Another reason is I have not had the money for my medications like insulin so I have been doing what I can to keep my sugar down and that means not eating a lot. I am so tired of all of this. We are looking for another house because this one has caused this terrible ordeal with the high bills.

Please if you can help us it would be so appreciated. Thank you for at least reading this.

Need help paying for surgery Co-Pays

Posted by surgeryhelp79 on 2011-11-05 19:58:04

I am 32 years old and was born with Spina Bifida ( a hole in my spine). In the past 2 years I have been dealing with severe pain and loss of motor function, the cure is surgery. There are many costs involved for medical tests, visits to specialists and long drives each time (70 miles each way from my hometown). I do have medicare insurance but I make $16 too much to qualify for the States medicade program, this means the co-pays are all on me. For MRI's and CT they are $150 each, specialist visits are $40 each and to stay in the hospital it's $225 and I need to stay in for 5 days. I do alot for my community I am the President of a Non profit that helps the elderly and disabled get to the doctor, grocery store and pharmacy. I also am a volunteer for another Non Profit that helps people with mental illness. I have friends who set up a special account to help with my co-pays and this is where all this money is going. If you should have any questions about my story you can always contact me at vicap.boardmember79@gmail.com I thank you in advance for helping any amount will help.

Logan's Heros

I am a 32 year old working mom of three beautiful children and I have the most wonderful husband anyone could ask for. We have the perfect mid-west life. We both work full time (and enjoy what we do), have a nice home, we're able to afford some luxuries in life although in moderation, that is enough for me. I enjoy cooking, and entertaining in my time off from work, and spending family time with my kids, parents, and neighbors. My children are Jordon (age 13), Logan (age 10), and Brianna (age 9). The kids are active in sports, and in our small community we are well known, and frequently can be seen volunteering at community events, church, and our local high school, of which we are both alumni. I live less than two miles from the home I grew up in. Sounds perfect if you ask me.

On February 18th, 2011 our son Logan (age 10) was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. He was not having many symptoms only occasional headaches. I was concerned that he may have been developing migraines and so I took him to see our family physician. His physical exam was normal including a rather thorough neurological exam. Dr. Arntz agreed with my initial thought and prescribed him some migraine medication. What a relief! He asked us to get a CT scan of Logan's head only as a precaution and he even stated that he didn't think there was any real concern, just a precaution. 5 days later, we were heading to the University of Michigan; Mott's childrens hospital because his precautionary CT scan had confirmed the worst for us. A 6 cm brain tumor in the posterior fossa of Logan's brain. Causing the cerebral spinal fluid to back up and create pressure in his head (hence the headaches).

Before leaving the house for the hospital we gave Logan a brief description of the problem, and explained to him that we didn't know what was going to happen next but we were going to the hospital to find out. You could see the worry on him but he was tough, shrugged his shoulders and said, "Well, I guess I better call it something, I think I'll name it Steve." So off we went, notifying family on the way to the hospital, and completely sick to my stomach.

Three days later we would embark on the scariest days of my life. Logan was promptly scheduled for surgery the following Monday and we were told there was a high probability that the tumor was cancerous. Dr. Cormac Maher performed 14 hours of brain surgery on Logan on Monday February 21st, and confirmed our fears that Logan indeed had a cancerous brain tumor called medulloblastoma. Then more bad news the post operative MRI showed that they had been able to remove all of the tumor and Logan would need more surgery. The next day he underwent another 6 hours of brain surgery. We caught it early but based on where the tumor sat he may not be able to talk or walk normally for 3-6 months. Lucky for us he talks and walks very well all things considered. But there has been radiation therapy and chemo therapy will continue until February or March of next year. There is a 75-80% chance of survivability, I feel blessed with those odds.

Logan is doing very well but this situation has put an incredible financial burden on us. I am falling behind on bills and need help. Andy is working constantly and I even started a second job on the weekends to try to help supplement the lost income from prescriptions, gas to and from the hospital, and just having to take time off work for appointments and Logan's sick days... I don't know what else to do. The banks have tried thankfully to work with us but our circumstance is not going to change for quite awhile longer. Our family's do not have a lot of money, and have already tried to help so much that I think it may be putting a strain on them as well. The church sends gas cards occasionally but there is just not enough to keep us going for the next year.

Here' s the kicker, Logan started his own Relay for Life team. I had taken him to a local expo about 3 weeks after he had been discharged from the hospital because I thought it would be good exercise for him to walk around and there would be lot's to look at, and there was a booth for the American Cancer Society. He walked up to the lady at the booth and he said " How old do you have to be to have a team?" She signed him up on the spot. Logan Bailey's Super Survivors have raised $8300.00 for the American Cancer Society! He's only a little more than $1600.00 away from his goal of raising $10000.00 for the Relay for Life. We've held auctions, bake sales, and concerts. It's been a wonderful distraction for him and he is super excited about reaching that fund-raising goal. We have asked our friends to contribute to his goals in lieu of giving us personal financial assistance. It's more important to me that his endeavors to do more for others, are successful.

We cannot change Logan's circumstance. He will always be a brain cancer survivor, and I will forever be a medullo-mom. But, if we can make this even minutely easier for others having to face it after us then we will do it. Logan donated "Steve the brain tumor" to medical research and he volunteered to participate in a medical research trial for his treatments. We hope that the money raised for the American Cancer Society will make a difference in research and support for anyone suffering with a cancer diagnosis. We hope that the research will make the work of wonderful, selfless, people like Dr. Maher and his team easier and more successful. If I had been diagnosed with this same type of cancer at the age of ten it would have been a terminal diagnosis... the research is working!!

I need help, I need financial help for my family so that we can stop the worrying over finances and concentrate on bringing our entire family through this successfully looking at it in a positive light and remembering that we did it with hearts full of love and with others in mind. Logan is a truly remarkable child and I am so proud of him. I anxiously await your response Thank you for your consideration.

wedding dress

I am getting married in March. I am one of those girls who have been dreaming of my wedding day for as long as I can remember, when I was little all my drawings were of these huge cinderella ballgowns. Sooo fastforward 20 years, one amazing disney world proposal later and about 200 dresses in 4 states later. I am panicking because I don't think I will ever find a dress, when finally I find one. Its beautiful and classy- the dress that will make grandparents cry. There's nothing I don't like about this dress- but I still don't get the feeling that it is THE dress. That night after ordering it and paying the deposite- I have a nervous breakdown. So we head to New Hampshire where I find THE dress- THE dress I have been searching for my whole entire life. It is amazing and has everything I've ever wanted. I loved it as soon as I saw it- but thought it was not going to look as good as the dress I already bought. I was wrong. Looks amazing- just as good as the first dress but I feel like cinderella. I can not stop thinking of this dress. They are two completely differant looks- both princess but one is Kate Middleton the other is Cinderella. I am having 2 weddings- one on a wednesday on the beach in FL, the other is a more formal traditional wedding in CT-more of a fieldy/gardeny affair. So the two dresses each fit one occasion perfectly. I can not choose between the two. My mother thinks buying two is rediculous and will not pay for more than one. I am completely torn and the only thing I can think of is to get both dresses, otherwise I will end up regretting my decision at one of the venues.
Unfortunatly I am a recession graduate- one of the many who upon graduation found myself less employable than a 15 year old, with a PILE of student loans to pay off. I work, but the $ I make now will not allow for an emergency $1500 dollar expense.

Please, please, pleeease help. I know it is a shallow request- but its the one time in my life where I can be selfish, shallow, and vain. I really truly appreciate any help and will pay it forward. Thank you!

The Big Move

Posted by Toni86 on 2011-07-09 18:58:20

Hello, all!

My name is Toni, and I am moving from CT to CA this fall. I am a housecleaner (even with a college degree...) and am short of my goal to move. I have an audition for an acting school out in California on July 21st, and if I make the audition, I will have the opportunity to do what I love and pursue a dream. Please help with any and all donations! Thank-you SO much, for believing in a twenty-something's "pipe dream". :)
