Need help with medical

Posted by dazeodrew on 2012-05-18 18:58:58

I need prayer and help.
All was well just a year ago. I had a good paying job, a beginning side business, and a blessed life. I left my job to move 2000 miles so my wife and I could care for her mother. I used my savings to rent a home for us and paid months in advance to cover us while I looked for work.
I have been unable to find work, my mother-in-law passed, my wife was diagnosed with cancer and we no longer had good health coverage, and my savings ran out. My small side business can only provide enough to cover the basics and since there is nothing left over, it cannot grow. We are 3-4 months behind our bills and all are getting impatient. The medical care my wife needs is about to end if I can’t make a payment in the next few days.
I am a disabled veteran of Desert Storm and am limited with some of the work I can find. It has been a struggle to try to stay positive and hopeful this past year. The same banks offering loans when times were good are denying any assistance now that times are bad. I pray daily for a change.
As I started in this letter, I need prayer and help.
I know God hears me and has a plan for me and even in our circumstances, I never doubt His love for me. I just need more voices to reach out and let Him know I need Him more than ever at this moment.
Thank you.

Son in hospital please help.

Posted by somegirl83 on 2012-04-28 18:58:04

Hello, my son was just admitted into the hospital and we lost insurance coverage on him when my husband lost his job. He could be in here at least another 2 days while he battles pneumonia and I am reaching out to caring individuals who can please help me with his medical expenses and to get him a few things to make his stay more comfortable, such as a new toy for example. I am embarrassed to ask and ashamed but desperate and hope and pray that you will find it in your heart to help. Thank you for your time.

Car payment

Posted by arcaneacro on 2012-04-24 22:58:28

I am 28.I had my car paid off, but then got into an accident trying o avoid hitting a dog running across the street. I have to start completely over on a car loan which I faithfully make monthly payments to that cuts my pay check in half. Not to mention car insurance is full coverage now. I really want to pay off this car so I can start taking some college courses without debt. Also I would really love to take a trip to Disney land. I have a really stressful hard job and I just want to go to a happy place before I get too old. I feel bogged down with these few bills over my head. If someone who didn't have to worry about money could please donate to me it would really change my life and I could have a second chance. I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

Medical/Prescription Help

Posted by ickes29 on 2012-04-18 17:58:35

Eight years ago, my wife was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease, a thyroid condition that really wears her down. She had to stop working as she could not make it through an 8-hour day. We had insurance coverage until last October when I lost my job. We have exhausted our resources. She finished the last of her medication in March and cannot get refills until she has the thyroid lab tests done and reviewed by a doctor. The tests are very expensive ($600-$800) and to maintain her medication will be another $100-$200 a month. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Lupus has destroyed me financially

Posted by Mommyof6 on 2012-03-28 23:58:55

I have lupus and spend a lot of time between doctors and hospitals. I have insurance but only 70% coverage after $3500 deductible is met. I have 5 kids and recently took in another. I work full time but got stuck in debt and now can't get out. Any help to pay remaining medical bills would be so amazing! I also take a lot of medications and receive treatments which will not stop anytime soon. Hoping to get out of debt so I don't have to skip medicine or treatments. Thank you!
Hi, I'm Alexandra and I'm 20 year old working college student in San Jose, Ca. I was in a car accident this past sunday, February 19th in Los Angeles while on vacation. I just bought my car all by myself a month ago and thought I succeeded another milestone in life. I have full coverage on my 2006 Honda Accord but my insurance company decided to triple my deductible (not my rate) from $1000 to $3000 so I would basically be paying for my own repairs and medical bills (I have a sprained neck, back, and wrist but luckily I have health insurance). My insurance company left me stranded in the middle of a Los Angeles street with my crashed car. They wouldnt even tow my car back home or to where I was staying. I know it doesnt sound right and I already have filed a case against the insurance company about that with the California Dept of Insurance and with 7 on your side (the news station). I'm basically scrambling to find a mechanics shop to fix my car for a reasonable price since I do not have $3000 upfront. If you dont know how far San Jose is from Los Angeles, that is about an 8 hour drive. I have no way of getting to school or work and sadly I have contemplated quitting school to work a second job which was totally against everything I believe. I dont want to have to end my college career due to this. I honestly do not have anywhere or anyone else to turn to for help. This is basically my last call for help and will be making a decision soon about what to do. I'm only asking for $1500 out of a total of $4500 because I honestly feel bad for having to ask but I would really appreciate the help. Thank you.

Desperate

Posted by MacK on 2012-02-06 11:58:15

The best way I have found to ask for help is to just ask. Please help me. I have fibromyalgia, Type II Diabetes, Hypertension, Hypercholesterolemia, migraine headaches, GERD, and major depression. I have recently learned of a medical program/procedure that could possibly help with each of these problems. Currently, I am disabled, receiving government subsidy through SS Disability. My meds alone, even with the medicare coverage I have, run me $150 a month. The insurance will cover this program, but I would still need about $5000 for out-of-pocket expenses. I have always enjoyed helping other people and tend to give everything I have to those I feel are more needy. Unfortunately, I am now the needy one. Can you please help me? Even a little bit would be a blessing, and I would be forever greatful. Rest assured, I would pay it forward. The thought of possibly being able to get a job and not have to take government money is so exciting. And being able to help others again would bring me such peace. I appreciate each person who has taken the time to read this and I also thank this website for making it possible. Thanks. Be blessed.

Need full makeover on my teeth

Posted by sportsitjunkie on 2011-12-05 21:58:41

Well where do I start. I just found this website earlier today. I am about to graduate in the spring of 2013 with a bachelors in Computer Science. I work a 9.00 an hour job through college and still currently hold this job, helps me pay for tutition/books etc. The problem I have that causes me severe self esteem problems that get worse and worse are my teeth. They are horrible and gross and are only getting worse. This causes me to be extremely anti social, when presentations are to be done in class I have to explain my situation to my professor and they typically allow me to do my presentation just to them. I have a huge problem going on interviews. As soon as I am done with school I am sure I will be going on a lot of interviews and want to be able to do this with confidence. I can't talk to a girls at all that is out of the question. I just want to have fresh teeth. It is not as bad as a lot of the stories on here but it really does seriously affect me. I have no dental coverage, I had to have emergency procedure done to have my wisdoms removed. They were so infected, I had let them go for so long and finally the pain began to be to unbearable. I went to the ER and now have about 1,000 in medical bills. I hope to pay this off in the future. I would really just like help having the work done on my mouth so I can feel confident again. The only thing that has gotten better is as I have gotten older is my fellow classmates do not abuse me for my teeth (as much) But my confidence is so in the gutter I can't even truly explain. So I am just looking for some assistance. I have a few places I can go to that do special procedures that cause me little pain and can give me a brand new mouth. I also do not qualify for any of the credit companies that would be able to help me. I know there are millions of people on here, if I could get 3,000 people to donate a dollar each I could probably cover the costs. I really appreciate it. Thanks.

I can't do this alone

Posted by grlracerr on 2011-11-30 00:58:34

I spent a week in the hospital and went back again Monday for an unexpected surgery. I have two small children and work a full time job. Since I have not been at work for a year yet I had no vacation/sick time or short term disability coverage. I just got my last pay check of $89.00. This does not pay for rent, gas, electric, food, daycare, car payment or insurence. I am not sure where to turn and with the holidays coming I have already explained to my kids christmas will not be coming this year because mommy got sick. I am not asking for a handout and I will do what I can to give back to those who can help. I am supposed to return to work in a few weeks but without money to keep me afloat till then I am not sure what else to do but ask for your help.

Need help with bills

Posted by eve11 on 2011-11-29 23:58:38

I, too, have lost my job; lost insurance coverage, medication. Have multiple sclerosis and rely on medication to ensure no relapse.

If I can get money to pay off some of the credit card bills, it would leave me extra money. I have had to use credit cards to pay for car repairs, bridge repair on my teeth, and groceries for my family and my husband's blood pressure medication. Nothing has been used frivolously.

Here's how the amount owing:
AA Financial - 380.00 (car repairs)
Wells Fargo - 3,556.00 (bridge repair)
Chase - 700.00 (groceries, gas,and utility bills)

I never wanted to be in this situation, but have to try and survive. Thank you

Truck Fire Surviver

Posted by truckfiresurviver on 2011-11-16 09:58:55

Hello. I am a commercial driver in need of financial help. My situation is 100% verifiable. On 9/20/11 I was driving a tractor trailer in Lamar, Pa, delivering a load to New Jersey when my truck caught on fire. To escape certain death I had to jump out of the burning truck, sustaining injuries in the process. A few minutes later the truck exploded and was incinerated. There was no driver error. Everybody who hears my story tells me that I'm lucky to be alive. However, Ive been out of work ever since. I do have legal representation in a workers comp case pending in Pa. My lawyer informed me that it may take up to a year before I start receiving workers comp benefits because my employer failed to have workers comp coverage while operating his business in Pa. I have absolutely no income. I lost my home and is now staying with a relative, sleeping on his couch. My car was towed due to expired tags. My bill to get my car out of the tow yard is now $2500 and rising daily. If I dont get my car out I will lose it in less than two weeks. I'm in serious pain daily from my injuries but cant get medical treatment because I dont have medical insurance and is forced to wait until I begin receiving workers comp benefits before I can get medical treatment. I applied for and was denied public assistance because I have only joint, and not full, custody of my 6 year old daughter. Even though NC Dept Of Social Services sympathized with what happened to me they told me that nc dss policy dont allow a parent with only joint custody of his child to get public assistance despite the fact that the nature of my occupation (over the road commercial transportation)prohibits me from having full custody of my child. I cant work until I receive treatment for my injuries. I dont know what else to do for money while waiting for my workers comp case to go through.I currently cant even provide food for myself and my daughter. Everyday I'm sinking deeper and deeper into destitution, anxiety and depression.I am sincerely hoping that somebody will read my story on Begslist and decide to help me. I am a hard working American citizen that, through no fault of my own, was involved in an on the job incident that left me injured, homeless, carless and destitute. I need help.Again, my situation is 100% verifiable. If you have any questions please call 980-345-7601 and ask for Wayne. Any and all help you can provide me will be truly appreciated.

my whole life is falling apart

Posted by petitemommy on 2011-11-02 13:58:18

I recently discovered my husband of 7 years was doing heavy drugs and I left immediately after beating myself up. I have a 2 year old daughter and we recently moved into our own apartment after living out of a shelter for 5 months. I have always worked full-time but making $7.25 an hour without any support aside from food assistance and medical it is making it impossible to even pay my bills. I was in a car accident on 10-13 and totalled by $6,000 car. A month prior I switched my insurance from full coverage to liability because I just paid it off and I wanted to save $50 a month. I sold my junked car for $700 which got me another vehicle that has already broken down. I have no family as I was a foster child. I am 25 years old and running out of all of the options I can do to ensure my child can grow up in a safe home. Please help me, I promise to pay it forward.

Emergency Financial Help!

Posted by ronalano on 2011-09-30 10:58:38

PLEASE EXCUSE MY INTERUPTION!!

My name is Ronald Alano. My wife Kathi and I are in A very bad way.

Please let me explain. My wife's unemployment ran out just as she needed a dead kidney removed. I was terminated from my 10 year professional job due to down sizing at the same time. I was her nurse up the time of her operation. She had to have her bag cleaned and changed daily. Her operation was put on hold till we could scrape up enough money to pay a month of Cobra to cover her surgery. This took 2 months. She has recovered wonderfully.

We have both been unable to obtain employment. We were evicted from our rental because we were unable to make rent for 8 months. We owe taxes, hospital bills, vehicle payments, utility payments. We have one vehicle that is on a title loan without even minimum insurance coverage. We are receiving food stamps. We have spent many hours in the pantry lines. We are currently staying with Kathi's son till we can get employment.

My wages are being garnished due to unpaid medical bills. I cannot even work a McDonald's because I would only make enough to cover gas. I am a hard working and dedicated person. I have spent many days and hours applying and sending resumes to a multitude of job prospects. I have only had 2 interviews that have not panned out. We are trying to get Kathi's drivers license, but can't even afford the 20.00 to pay for that.

It really hurts to have to tell our life's story to try and get any help. We have gone through all the channels for help. We have given to United Way all the time we were employed. They would only help with 250.00 towards rent, but we owe over 7,000.00 in rent. They only offered 150.00 towards utilities and we owe a couple of thousand on them. To chapter 8 housing is a waiting period of over a year and a half. We have no relatives who can help.

We just can't find a way to start digging out. We have recently found salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ. We attend a small Christian church where we attend Sunday services, Wednesday night services, and Tuesday night Bible study. We are just asking someone who is more fortunate than us for any help.

I never thought that our family would be in a financial crisis of this nature. My father, 82 years old, a Christian, Korean War Veteran, retired teacher and one of the most helpful people you would know, has Alzheimer's Disease. He has been bedridden for the past 5 years. My mother, also a retired teacher is doing everything she can to pay all the expenses associated with caring for my father. Over the past 5 years nursing care cost over $250,000 alone! We have used all our saving and sold assets. With all the health insurance my father has, day to day care for an Alzheimer's patient is not covered by medical insurance! A word to all that reads this "Get long-term health coverage"! We are $2000 a month short. Our faith keeps us hopefully that one day things will be much better . I humbly ask for this help because my mother is now starting to become ill from the worry. She is the posterchild for the marriage vow "TILL DEATH DO US PART". I've seen her unwavering faith, strength and hope. I love her and I so wish I could do more to help her financially. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you!

Please help save my leg

Posted by helpjeffsleg326 on 2011-06-20 08:58:23

Hi,

My name is Jeff. I am 41 and currently living in Nashville, TN. I made this page in extreme desperation asking for financial help with my right leg. There is a picture of the ulcer on my right ankle, which is also painfully swollen, as well as pictures of the varicose veins on my blog. I never ask for anyone’s help, ever, but I am now humbled to ask for your help, it’s probably my last bit of hope.

I have varicose veins very badly in my right leg, and its been a 25 year-old problem which has been getting slowly worse over time. I also got a venous stasis ulcer on my right ankle last year from the vein problems. This was a nightmare for me as it took almost a year to heal over leaving a very bad scar.

I need to have Endovenous Laser Treatment (ELT) surgery on my leg very soon or I will probably lose my leg I’m told. I also need to have cosmetic surgery for the horrible scar on my ankle.

I need $7,500 for ELT surgery very soon and I do not have medical insurance. The cost of cosmetic surgery varies but it is estimated to be $5,000 to $10,000. The grand total I am trying to raise is $20,000 to be certain I have enough money to recover from all this and as I may miss some time from work.

I do work FT right now but I simply cannot afford health coverage, I am living by the skin of my teeth currently just barely making rent. Also the state of TN will not let me have TennCare, I’ve tried many times and got told even some people with cancer cannot get TennCare – just crazy.

So I am asking you today if you could find it in your heart to donate even a few dollars (or a significant amount) to my cause I would be so very grateful to you!

If you can help me please donate with PayPal at my blog: http://helpjeffsleg.wordpress.com

I will be updating my blog regularly about my progress towards my goal.

Thank you for visiting and may God bless you!

Headed back towards homelessness, need money for GED

Posted by Sinist4 on 2011-05-16 15:58:35

Before you read this, I'd just like to say if you have any second thoughts about giving, at all, please don't. I understand how hard it is to make money, and feel guilty enough just asking for help... if you can't afford/justify a donation, please keep me in your prayers.

My name is Andrew. I lived with my mother and my sister until 2001, when my mother died in a hit-and-run accident. It happened just before 9/11, so news coverage was cut short and the driver hasn't been found as far as I know. My sister was sent to live with my father, and I dropped out of school and lived on the streets, eating out of dumpsters and bathing in fountains, until a year ago. I found my way to a shelter, and then my sister found me. I now live with her, but she is on the edge of homelessness as well. Which is worsened by me being here. I've been job-hunting everyday, but I'm limited by lack of transportation or money for it. Since I dropped out of school, I never got my high school diploma. All of the employers that have taken the time to talk to me have said that I won't even be considered without a diploma or an equivalency degree. I've recently found out that I can't go back to high school if I'm over 19. My only option is to get a GED, but I can't afford the $50 that it costs for me to take the test. So, that's what I'm asking for. I hope you can see through what I've written that I'm an intelligent individual who's just had some hard times. I know I can pass the GED, and if I could just get a job, I could help pay my sister's rent, and for more self-education.

If you can find it in your heart and your wallet to donate any spare penny, I would be wordlessly grateful... Thank you for taking the time to read this, and take care of yourself.

financial assistance

Posted by annie on 2011-05-02 13:58:15

This is just not where I wanted to wind up, but I am going to plead my case. I am a single mom with a young son. I lost my job over two years ago, and six months after became disabled with an incurrable autoimmune disease. Well, wound up with on a state insurance, that quickly stopped my medical coverage saying my unemployment check was too high. I then wound up receiving disability payments and unemployment stopped. Ok, that is fine. I wound up in the hospital and unable to pay the hospital bills, they repo'd my car and took away any extra help I was receiving to get by. I have searched for work day and night, no one seems to give me a go. My son needs clothes, food and I need help to pay rent, pse&g, and try to lead a normal life. My disability pays 1/3 of my bills, and then it snowballs into many late payments.....my coping mechanisms are running out. I don't know if there is anyone that can help, but I want to work.....I want to work.....and I want to be able to pay my bills, and take a train to visit my mother who is in an assisted living with alzheimer's before it is too late. If you can help with anything.....I would be most appreciative.

Didn't know where else to go.

I already posted under another category, but I thought I would add it here too. I first want to thank the creater of this site for making it free. Afterall, we are all here because we need financial help.

I stressed over posting on a site like this but I feel I have no where else to turn. Due to job loss, a failed business venture, and having to cash in our savings, my husband and I are in a terrible situation. We borrowed money from family to get by and promised to pay it back. We are still behind on so much and we just don't know when we will ever come up with the money. We are also behind on our mortgage again. There is nothing left after bills, food, and other necessities with each paycheck. We both even had to turn down health coverage through our work because the premiums were too high and would put us in worse situation.
$10,000 will give us a nice boost and help take some of the weight off our shoulders.I could pay back our family member and get square with the mortgage. Please understand, I would not be able to return it due to our situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this!
She was a nationally certified paralegal and he was an IT Admin for a fortune 500 company. One day in early 2008, Carolyn had a seizure at work and was takin to the emergency room. They called Don at work and he went straight there. They were informed that she had a gioblastoma, a brain tumor. Don lost his job in mid-2008; he suspects it was because of the mounting healthcare costs his employer was incurring because of his wife's illness. They had to use their modest retirement savings to maintain medical coverage that soon ran out but fortunately Carolyn recovered. Fast forward 2 years. After undergoing surgery, radiation and chemo, Carolyn is now doing well. Although she can't work anymore, she collects a small SS disability claim. Don does odd jobs fixing computers and making handmade jewelry, which he sells at the local flea market.
I know this because Carolyn called me crying. I thought long and hard before posting this, but I had to. Carolyn and Don are my parents.
Please, please help them, even if its a small amount.
Thank You.
