I developed perhaps the ultimate in 'sustainability' based perma culture farming with almost no tilling required here in Oregon. I am not big on all the sustainability jargon but what I have done is created a kind of natural farm factory that I would like to see reproduced on a larger level. It produces high carbohydrate value food with almost no irregation although some was required to get it started and revolves around an ancient plant speices friend of man-kind the Chestnut Tree. Believe it or not chestnut trees can produce upto 2,000 lbs each of nuts a year if spaced at least 40 feet apart. There is a story and a book on how to do what has been discovered here on a small farm at a very much larger and perhaps international basis. The economy and use of the Chestnut is a bit of a harder sell than wheat , rice or corn. It is the lowest fat tree nut in existence. It is also glutten free. The farm still has nuts for sale from last year thanks to their being no organized major distribution network for our product like other basic crops and growing competition (all good for the long run) Money or new land to develop in the Pacfic Northwest is sought after. We have many nuts to plant and many seedlings ready to transplant and we have other types of plants that play a role in the development. Inexpensive cleared land that needs to be replanted in the Northwest is sought after for this purpose. Land that is inexpensive and not suitable for vinyards or other uses other than slow timber growth would be perfect but at an affordible price please if possible. The amazing thing about chestnut trees is their tap roots can allow them to self irregate in places where it seems there is no water to resourse at all at the surface. donations accepted as well as land donations/ participation. Chestnut trees also have value as wood and timber as a hard wood. In some areas once timber is cut down in the Northwest most of the value of the land is gone which would be a perfect time for us to go in and buy iti to reforest it with an eye to new permaculture farming. please help if you can.

I am an unemployed mother of three children (ages 13, 9 and 6). I was laid off when the company I worked for closed due to foreign competition. We are struggling to make ends meet and now my unemployment benefits have ended (November 9, 2011). I have a nine year old son with special needs. I am fighting to get him disability; however, with no way to make doctor appointments it is becoming more difficult. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am 2 month behind in my rent and the only phone calls I get are from bill collectors. I am in sales but my sales have dwindled by 75% over the last few years due to the economy and too much competition in my industry. I am barely getting by, thank goodness for the $1.00 store!. I am currently unemployed since 03/28/2011 and have been only able to get by with money I had saved for my emergency fund. Thankfully I had this saved up but I'm now out of money and do not have any immediate resources that can provide assistance.

The Texas Work Force Commission says I'm ineligible for unemployment insurance because my employer, a small company with a CEO that would yell at employees all the time told them I quit my job. This is not the case, I was told to leave for no reason during a meeting without warning. I'm in the process of appealing my case for a hearing, but the process will take weeks before they can determine a hearing date and determine if I'm eligible.

I am very detail oriented and have applied to 306 different positions since I was let go. I've been on 8 interviews and have another lined up for tomorrow. I have been applying to jobs that are relevant to my job skills and qualifications, which is search engine optimization (SEO), customer service, and inside sales. Most of the positions I've had the chance to interview with have stiff competition and some are still in the searching process. I needed a job 2 months ago. Recently, I was able to get hired for a retail position that pays $7.25 an hour. At this point I will sweep the floors for someone to hire me. This position starts June 6th.

Anyhow, in the midst of all this, I have an 11 year old daughter, and a 3 year old son. I've been married for 11 years and my wife does what she can as a baker for birthdays, weddings and holidays. She brings in about $300 a month which she contributes to groceries and kids clothes.

I'm dedicated and hard working and want to be able to pay my bills and support my family.

Here is a breakdown of my expenses:
Rent: $1195 per month
Car Payments: $720 per month
Car/Rental Insurance: $320 per month
Cable/Internet: $165 per month
Sallie Mae Student Loan: $60.00 per month (past Due 17 days)
Water/Trash Utilities:$60 per month
Groceries: $600 month
Gas: $200 per month

Total Expenses: $3320 per month

Currently, I have $900 to my name. Today in 05/30/2011 and I have to pay rent by June 3rd.

I'm at a point where I feel I need to seek some financial assistance. I'm 19 years old and in the fall should go to college. The problem is that my family lives on 1000$ per month income and it's very hard economic situation in our country. The problem is that the tuition for my college costs 5000$ per year.Half of that amount is not a problem to obtain, but the other half is. I'm an excellent high school student with skills in web design and multimedia, which I have learned in my school, but it is very hard to earn from my job because of the high competition in the market.
Therefore, I need further education in my live, achieve more and live by my work.

I've been unemployed for more than a year now. I'm applying for jobs even though all of my mental and 2 physical disabilities make it hard to get one and impossible to keep one. I have COPD and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that make it hard to work, but the mental illnesses make it even harder to get or keep a job. Most days, I can't shaking at all and I can usually only last 2 or 3 hours without crying. I have Major Depression and almost every kind of anxiety disorder that exists. The social phobias make it almost impossible to get a job because I can't make eye contact with anyone except friends and family and I'm so nervous around people that I don't know that I become completely mute sometimes. Sometimes I can talk if someone talks to me first, but sometimes I can't talk until I've communicated enough through text and email that I get to know them a little bit. Eye contact doesn't happen until I've known someone for a few years. I've applied for disability but that takes a long time to get approved and a lot of court hearings that will probably kill me from the stress of talking, and hoping and praying that they will let me write or text everything because I can't talk in front of people I don't know. I'm getting a little bit of unemployment and collecting scrap metal and copper (without stealing it) for some money. I don't have a car, so I have to depend on friends and family to help me get the metal and take it to sell. I need help with my bills. All of them, especially my rent and internet. I need the internet to apply for jobs, do follow ups on jobs, and keep up with my disability application. My cell phone is also important for texting about jobs and disability. I'm trying to survive on my own, but without being able to communicate in person, it's really hard. Most jobs here are customer service, which is impossible for me. When I hear of one that is only physical labor and no talking or interacting with customers, I try for it, but with all the competition for the jobs here, and my inability to talk to an interviewer, I usually don't get it. Please help. Any amount is good.

My family's annual income is $36000. My college's cost of attendance, according to the statement I'm looking at right now, is about $57000.

Simple math, right?

For reasons that remain personal, I am ineligible for financial aid (no, I am not an undocumented immigrant if that's what you were thinking), leaving my parents to pay for the entirety of my college education. But as you can tell, the cost of attending my college is about 1.6x my family's annual income.

Kind of a big problem.

I'm ineligible for pretty much every sort of financial aid, including loans (no rich co-signer). I'm entering every scholarship competition I can, but even those aren't easy to win. I'm also doing my best to keep grades up to be eligible for merit scholarships.

So here I am, asking you to help out. I believe in public good (very much a follower of Locke), and any few dollars you can send my way would be highly appreciated. Anything you can do to help take my mind off money problems in the slightest would be great and help me focus on academics and enjoying college better.

I am going to be completely honest with you. I am a very talented individual who, through the force of circumstances, has not been able to get out of a rut. I am educated, have years of work experience, have a lovely wife and beautiful son. I am very fortunate in many aspects of my life, except money. It stems from our house flooding back in 2008. Our basement (which is also my wife's place of business) flooded due to an extreme winter storm. Our sump pump failed to engage when waters began to collect behind our house. The resulting damage totaled close to $20,000.00. Even though our area was considered a disaster area the US government declined my request for a disaster grant, twice. We had to finance everything with credit cards. And that put us right in the hole.

Ever since we have had to use credit to get by. We have mounting credit card debt closing in on the 40K to 50K range (I don't want to add it all up as I don't want to see the actual number). I am considering one of those debt resolution companies or bankruptcy. But both have major drawbacks. I have been searching for a better paying job in the accounting industry but competition is stiff and employers' requirements are high and the amount of jobs is low.

I am certain that if we could get rid of this debt we would be put back on our feet and ready to excel. I just need one "do over" without any harsh consequences and then I feel I will be able to go GREAT things. Thank you for listening.
