As the recession, I might argue depression spread across the country and our town equally, like so many others, we found ourselves affected in ways we didn't see coming. My business began to fail, losing client after client to hard economic times, until those few clients who were left were asking for reduced costs, some even asking to keep services coming though they can not pay at this point. I have tried to oblige. I continue to serve many clients in trying to promote their products and services "pro-bono" so they can eek out a living in these times.
My wife has been great through all this. She works a steady "day job" to barely meet our monthly rent and bills.
We have tapped every credit card, and can't pay their monthly bills and fees. We have ruined our credit, believing if we could hold back the storm, and continue to help those we serve, we would be alright on the other end.
NOW, as home prices are finally in reach, we find that we can no longer qualify for the loan that would get us, and our five sons into a new home. With home costs once nearing and surpassing $200K, we can now buy the perfect home for $50K. That's what we're asking for now: $50K!! Banks, once far too anxious to give loans for over-priced homes to people who could not afford them, now turn us away for a much more reasonable loan that would actually lower our monthly expenses by almost 1/2. We now watch as wealthy investors snatch up the homes once financed by real families and foreclosed on. But in the time it takes to rebuild the credit we need to get financed, these moguls will have all of the properties and be renting them out to all of us who could not hope to own under these terms.
So we turn to YOU! A generous stranger, who can help make our dream come true. YOU can donate a small portion of this expense, and help us to make this dream come true. We are setting a goal of $50K, and hoping to beat the tide of greedy investors from owning what could be our new home. As we get closer to our goal we will use some of the thoughtful contributions we receive to repair the credit we have forfieted, so we might get the funding we need on our own through a bank. IF this happens, and we exceed donations needed, then we will donate the remaining funds to others on Begslist.com, including to the Begslist.com creator to continue to help neighbors help neighbors ... because we all need help sometimes!

I'm a freelance legal assistant who has hit a rough patch. My hours are down, some of my client's checks have bounced and I have been served with an eviction notice.

Since the eviction notice, I have been able to stay current and even pay off a little of the back rent. But for the last two months, I haven't been able to pay anything towards the back rent. I got a letter from the property manager giving me to the end of the month to pay off the back rent OR ELSE.

I have nowhere to go. I will be unable to work. I don't even have a car right now so I have no idea how I will pack up and move out. I am going to lose everything.

PLEASE PLEASE someone PLEASE give me something - if a few people kicked in what they could spare, I might be able to mollify the property manager.

I had been unemployed for 3 years and could see no hope of finding a job so decided to start my own business media4web.co.uk, producing web video for small businesses to promote their products and services.

The little money I had went on purchasing a video camera, a fundamental tool for my work. However,last week whilst travelling back from a client, I was mugged and my camera and all accessories were stolen. I have no hope of ever seeing these again :-(.

I now have no camera and back to square one. The camera I need is £600 which is the minimum specification that i must have, I have £300 and to find the other £300 quickly so that I can resume my business. Can some kind people please help??

I'm a freelance legal assistant who has hit a rough patch this winter. My hours are down, some of my client's checks have bounced and I have been served with an eviction notice.

I am a single parent with a 15 year old. Last month I was able to cobble together enough money for the property manager to give me another month's grace period.

I am trying to get $2,000 by the end of the month. I already have $600 but need help with the balance $1,400.

I don't expect anyone to hand over that sum of money but maybe enough folks have $10 or $20 to spare, I can get another extension from my property manager.

My husband & I made the decision when our first child was born that I did not make enough money to pay for childcare. I began working full time as a nurses assistant, working shifts in the evenings and weekends so we would not have to pay for childcare. I since have had 2 more children, my youngest not of school age yet. Over the years I have suffered from multiple health problems, required many surgeries. We made it through those times and am very fortunate to be healthy now. However, that is when our debt started to accumulate. Over these years I have continued to work in health care while finishing my bachelors degree (graduated this May!) It was not easy but I felt it would help me to find a better paying job when I was ready to start my career. I couldn't have been more wrong. I lost my job in October as my client passed away. I have been unable to find a job. Hundreds of resumes sent and nothing has come from it. Student loans will need to be paid and unfortunately we are drowning in our day to day expenses. We even had to remove our children from their extracurricular activities as we could no longer afford them. I have been given no lucky breaks in life and have worked for everything I have-which isn't much. I hate asking for help- but desperate times call for desperate measures. This attempt may be a shot in the dark but any amount that you are able to donate would help more than I could ever explain. I will pay it forward when we are on our feet. Thank you for reading.

I'm a freelance graphic/software designer who already has a paying client with a startup also interested in my services, but I'm having trouble performing at my best because I do not have the money for a dedicated work area. There is a coworking office near my apartment that offers space for $350/month, but to work at full capacity I'd really like to buy the equipment I need for a home office, which runs between $3 and $5k. (At a minimum having a larger monitor and a desk would let me do some of the basic design work I need to do: that's $500-1k.)

I just moved to new york, got a gig through Craigslist and my client is not paying me in a timely fashion. I need 650 by the end of today or me and my friends could be evicted. My landlord has a zero-tolerance policy towards late payments. This is an emergency, I have nothing left. Please help.

We are all here for the very same reason, we need assistance & we need help. This is a little different for me as previously I had been the one linking others who were in need of assistance. I guess now it's my turn to walk in my client's shoes.

I've always found that when the smoke clears the situations we have faced and overcome were "end of the world" situations at the time. When actually, these situations ended up being not as bad as we originally anticipated. I have never asked others for anything no matter how bad things got for me and my family. Somehow things always find a way of working themselves out. I am the type of person that believes most things in this world happen for a reason.
I will not bore you all with my so called "Sob" story as I know there are others out there that are in need of financial assistance far worse then I am. I know this will be a long shot, but at this point I really have nothing else to lose. So here it goes, I am a 32 year old mother of 2 amazing boys, 15 and 8. I recently separated from my husband. We have been together for 7 years and only married for 1. He currently lives in FL & I am residing in MN. The reason for our separation was just recently my father had an anuyerism and was given only a 20% change to live. I drove 26 straight hours from FL to MN as I thought I was going to be saying goodbye to my dad forever. Obviously God was not ready to take a cranky old farmer/police officer as my dad pulled through with flying colors! Seriously, I am thinking God gave a second thought to his plans of taking my dad with him when he realized just how stubburn and what a pain in the butt my dad can be! I love my dad just the same as he is my Hero. Because my family is the most important thing in the world to me, I up and left my full time job in FL knowing the consequences of not having that job when I returned. Even after asking for extended time off my employeer would not grant me the time or approve FMLA so I could be with my dad. A whole different can of worms there! Well, since being in MN I have been assisting my mom in caring not only for my dad, but also taking care of the family farm, the family business of selling farm equipment and caring for their 23 horses.
I have depleated my savings and I have been denied unemployment. I currently live in a town with a population of less than 1,000 people. So needless to say, the job market is not booming. Thus, I have continously run into dead ends as to any type of paying employment. But wait, it gets better. I received a call the other day from my husband informing me that he feels as though he is no longer in love with me and would like a divorce. At some point I would really like a break honestly. So, this is why I am here today asking for a helping hand. I am in need of assistance to help pay for an airline ticket to FL so that I can gather not only my children's belongings, but also mine.
I try my best to find the humor in each situation as you maybe able to tell from reading this, but again I would really like for life to cut me a break. If you are able to help in anyway possible I would be forever greatful.

I am sure that you do not get a lot of guys posting on here but here it goes...I am a 41 year old man with a with a fiance` and two daughters. One is 11 the other is 5...I lost my job over a month ago due to the company losing a client my job position was removed.

Although my fiance` does work part time it was my income that got us through.

Now, we are two months behind on our rent and our electric is going to be shut off this week..

We need $2,100.00 to be able to get caught back up.

I have found another job but I do not start until May 16,2011...It is a great job with great pay and hours, but that does not help me now.

Scentsational Bliss is an event planning company with a twist. At our parties our clients get to make products like lip gloss, lotion, and body mist. We do Princess, Diva parties and Mad Scientist parties for boys just to name a few. We provide decor, games, food. The decor includes chair covers, table cloths, balloons, etc. The client picks fragrances and labels and decorates the bottles and containers. We have different packages to fit the needs of our clients. There is currently not a business like this in my area that allows the client to make products for their events.
After three months of business we have had eight successful parties. However, we are seriously in need of funding to keep up with the demand. We need additional supplies to keep going. The money we have made from the parties has gone back into the business for additional needed supplies. It is a unique idea with a lot of potential but, we don't have the capital to give it a fair start. Our goal is to have a retail location to have ready made products as well as being able to make products on demand. The location would also have a party room. That way we would not have to rent out a space when we do a party. It will also be an alternative for the client if they don't want a home party. We would also rent linens and other party supplies as another means of revenue. At this point we have not been able to receive funding from a traditional source. We are currently looking for an investor, or a blessed individual who can provide a small donation. We are trying to raise $5000.00 to get supplies and a small retail location. Lost my real estate business during recent recession. Have had to start all over and am trying to renegotiate my past due loan with my lender and postpone foreclosure. I have few if any options on a living space if I'm forced out. I have begun the painful process of recultivating my client base but need to fill in the gaps. I have no heat in the house, couldn't pay gas bill. Only have a few small space heaters. Just trying to get back on my feet.

Something good has to happen. I work in a mental facility in a low paying dangerous job and lost a tooth to a client... it was a crown and it busted to the gum-line and I have two other teeth that have gone bad.. all front teeth.. damaged in a childhood during an assault. I am hard working and have so many excuses why I could be a failure and screw up but I haven't used any of them I just keep working and taking care of myself been straight and sober non drug addicted my whole life.. walked a straight line so to speak but always getting pushed over by one tragedy after another .. My life is a book and I have always smiled no matter what.. I refuse to let anything take the sparkle out of my eyes.. And my kids recently grown 18 and 21.. good kids..
I have insurance but it wont pay my dental because they don't pay MAJOR dental... I cried all the way home with my lil punkin grinned missing teeth. I am don't feeling sorry for myself now even though I wanna scream.. but I figure this is worth a shot.. cus sometimes good things do happen to good people.. and if I don't ask how will anyone eb able to help. Oh I could cry you a river and spill the story of my life.. but I just feel... life has something in mind for me.. not sure what.. yet but I keep dreaming and hoping that there is good out there to be found ... I see it all the time.. given to people that take advantage and are not grateful... so I would say why me God.. but honestly why the hell not me.... someones got to get the short end of a stick ... I am just ready for something wonderful to happen for a change is all.. and no moneys have to be given to me it can be given directly to my dentist.. I don't have a problem with that at all..
