What happened to our non profit group could happen to you personally!
Someone steal ALL your money.

Someone created false checks with our bank’s routing number and account number but put a person’s individual name with erroneous address and duplicated the check numerous time to where it totally wiped out our checking account and put six additional fake checks onto our overdraft protection. This person even changed the name of the bank from Fifth Third to First Bank of Clewiston on the face of the check and no one has caught her. She wrote numerous checks to Publix, Sweetbay, Murphy, Winn Dixie, etc. and has gotten away with this. Meanwhile, you, the concerned citizens, are suffering from what she has done because we have been financially damaged by her actions. We are a dual purpose organization which saves animals from being destroyed because their days have expired and work with some of the animals to teach them to serve the public as a service dog. The daily feeding and caring for the animals has been a financial need which the President of the group (Shirley Lucas) has been financially supporting the animals but this robbery is causing us to lose the 13 acres it utilizes to practice its training of the personnel and dogs. due to the recent recession i recently lost my job for the company that i had worked for since i was 16, i am now 23. As a result lately i have been inbetween low paid factory jobs. Watching payday loan adverts on the tellyy i became very drawn and and i am now in about £800 debt. With earning such low wages i am only able to defer the loans each month. Endless sleepless nights worrying about how to get rid of them are tiring me out. I have tried for small debt consolidation loans but always get refused and the local citizens advice was no help at all. If you could help a tiny bit n it all adds up im hoping I can get rid of these awful loans. My family have no money to help and I am working all the hours i can. God bless you all xxx

We desperately need your help! We are a small church located in an economically disadvantaged community. We own a house that was deeded over to us by a former pastor and are at risk of losing that property because of our inability to pay some past due taxes on the property.

The house was deeded to the church over 30 years ago by a former pastor of the church who had become ill and subsequently passed away. The house is not located in the same community as the church. (In fact, it is some distance away from the church, and therefore could not be utilized for church-related purposes which would have taken it off of the tax roll). As a result of gentrification in that community, the property values have increased tremendously. The property tax assessment for the property owned by the church escalated to staggering heights during the housing bubble.

Because of this the church has had much difficulty keeping up with all of the taxes on the property (a general tax, a school tax, and a village tax). The rental income from the property is used to assist the church with operating expenses, maintenance of all of the church properties, as well as paying the taxes. Finally, reassessment in the last couple of years has brought down the amount of taxes to be paid and we are better able to handle some of the current taxes due, but some of the older taxes were sold and consolidated in tax lien sales. The consolidation of the prior taxes due has hurt us tremendously. Numerous times the unpaid taxes were consolidated prior to our completion of raising enough funds to pay off some of them in their unconsolidated state. Individually some were $1,000 to $3,000 respectively. They have been consolidated totaling almost $19,000. We are not permitted to pay the liens individually which was viable, we have to pay them in total.

There is a holding company based in the community where the house is located which purchased those liens. That company is now a few months away from being able to begin foreclosure proceedings and take a valuable piece of real estate out from under the church. This would be devastating to the church.

The church has been in the process of trying to sell the house and use the proceeds from the sale to build a much needed new church building in the community it is located as well as to pay off those outstanding liens at closing, and to unload a property that was once a blessing to the church, but has long since become a burden. We don’t want to lose the property. We want to be able to sell it. We had some offers on the house, but at the last minute a promising deal fell through. Previously interested buyers, for some reason now, are less interested. We feel it is possible that there may some collusion within the community where the house is located to wait for the lien process to move forward and that potential purchasers connected with the holding company will be able to take the property and flip it to tremendous financial advantage, while leaving the church with nothing for thirty years of struggling to take care of the property.

It is important that we are allowed to sell the house and build our new church. We are in the final stages of making the new building a reality. All we have to do is secure the construction financing. Receipt of a commitment letter for the sale of the house is all that stands in the way of a 40+ year dream for the congregation. It would give us the down-payment that we need to move forward.

With the construction of a new church, we would be able to operate before and after school programs, have handicap accessible restrooms, and provide better services to the community. We have a senior citizens housing complex across the street from our church, and many of the residents would attend our church but they are unable to climb up and down the stairs to the single-person restrooms in the basement. We also operate a summer day camp which would benefit greatly from having more space in which to operate. We would be able to accommodate many more youngsters, many of whose families are unable to afford the other summer camps operating in the area. We have had to turn down prospective campers because of space constraints.

Our congregational makeup has changed over the years. The financial impact of that changed has been coupled with the severe impact of the economic downturn on our community. We have more retirees now on fixed income, youth, and small children, many of whom have young mothers, and some people who are working age, mostly with working class wages. We need to build a church to better meet the needs of our congregation and community. We operate a food pantry and soup kitchen which would be able to open more days a week with bigger pantry space and a modern commercial kitchen.

As I stated, we are in the final stages of the building project. We have our permits, plans, and contractor selected. We are ready to obtain financing. The congregation, which has always striven to do much with little, has invested much in this projected over the years and the sale of this property owned by the church is the one thing that stands in the way of it happening. Please do not let us lose this property just so a few people can make a quick buck. Help us to pay off these tax liens so that our church will be able to help transform an entire community!

I'm a 32 year old single mother, I live with my 7 year old daughter and I have never asked for anything before.

I've always earned my own money and have worked continuously since I got my first paper round at 13 until a few years ago when I lost my job due to ill health. At the time I was still living with my partner and we both had well paid jobs. We had a house with a mortgage and had taken out a secured loan against the property to do some much needed work on the house. Then the recession hit. The value of our house dropped by over £70,000 and because I had lost my job, we started struggling to make payments on the house and our credit cards and before we knew it our house was repossessed. It sold for much less than it was worth and we still owed the bank an absolute fortune.

I went to the local Citizens Advice Bureau who told me that I would be much better off if I was single! They said the government would pay for my house and give me other benefits but if I was still with my partner I wouldn't get a penny!

After much discussion we decided it would be best for my daughter and I to move into a place on our own and my partner would stay with family (just until we got back on our feet). Unfortunately we never did get back on our feet. My partner is still staying with family and we are still living in our small rented flat.

All I want is for my family to be back together under one roof. My daughter should never have to be without her dad because of finances and I want the man I love back. So if you can spare anything to help us out we will be forever in your debt!

Please I am asking for help. I am always working very hard after graduating from high school to help out with the family because my parents were poor and most of the times my earnings were just enough to buy necessities like basic food items. I did not get the chance to further my education but based off my work experiences I am confident that if I am given the chance to start a business I will be successful. Presently with two young kids, unemployed and a husband who earns less than 400 for the month, that is just hand to mouth. I really want to start a business not just to assist my family but to provide some form of employment for ambitious people in desperate need for help, also I want to assist people with medical needs. Therefore I want to start a charitable organization where people can get the sort of assistance they need in order to survive. I want to feel very useful, successful thus fullfilling the needs of many of our citizens.

In the late 1990's, my wife and I came separately from Peru to the United States. We met here, fell in love and married. We now have four beautiful children ages 12 through 3.

We have never been able to adjust our immigration status here. It was never a problem to find a job and feed our family. But now, I have lost my job and cannot find a new one. My wife cleans houses and we live on the little money she brings in. We live in fear because the police in our town are stopping everyone. We do not want our children to see us deported and the family torn apart.

We have worked hard all these years. We never took help from the government even when we could - no food stamps, no medicare. We paid all our bills. We even paid social security taxes but will never be able to retire with that money.

We want to return to Peru. We ask your help for the airfares, shipping our few personal belongings and setting up a home there. Now, I speak English so I can get a job in tourism there. We will keep our children in bilingual school so they don't lose their English. They will have the chance after college to come back, they are US citizens, but my wife and I don't want to return.

Hi. I am the mother of Jason Mackey who was born with Nemaline Myopathy Neuromuscular Disease (one of the diseases covered by MDA). Jason is 13, is in a wheelchair, has a trach and ventilator, and has home nursing care.

Each year we give back to our community in some way. We generally contribute as much as we can save for: BACH (Brazoria County Association for Citizens with Handicaps), The Pregnancy Help Center, MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association), and Salvation Army. In addition, we consistently give clothing and household item donations to World In Need.

My family and I are asking for donations for the purchase of a wheelchair van with lift. Any kind gesture from you would be greatly appreciated because we are a low-income, disabled family who doesn't make enough money to finance a van on our own.

I am writing on behalf of my 38 year old niece, who was recently diagnosed with Huntington’s disease (HD) and cannot submit this request without assistance. For those of you who are unfamiliar with HD, briefly, it is a fatal, autosomal-dominant neurological illness causing involuntary movements, debilitating emotional disturbance and cognitive decline.
In most instances, when you hear of someone being diagnosed with HD, it’s more like being handed a death sentence. This is due to the fact that there is no known cure and for many, the course of their illness for the rest of their lives is outright terrifying. Care and treatment for HD is extremely costly, and can be arduous, rigorous and intense, and therefore persons with this illness are usually placed in residential care and treatment facilities to live out their days.

My niece has chosen to live a full and meaningful life with HD and through the Grace of God, and all who step up to support her in this effort. She is currently residing on her own, and has shown amazing courage, strength and unique humor each and every step of the way. Most recently she mentioned to me in a telephone conversation that she saw a televised showing of a young girls wish being granted by the Make a Wish Foundation, and how she could use them to get a midsized sofa bed for herself, which she currently needs for her studio apartment.

After an exhaustive internet search for sites that grant adult wishes, I came upon this site and am formally submitting this request to you for your consideration. There is a Big Lots in the area where my niece resides which has a sofa bed for $400. If you are in a position to donate some or all of the funds towards this purchase please feel free to do so. If you find yourself in a position to purchase the sofa sleeper and have it delivered to her, this too is welcomed. Either way, contact us so we can make arrangements.

And if you’re feeling despondent because you have no money to contribute, you can assist us in this way. We’ve had tremendous success so far this year in garnering support for the Huntington’s Disease Parity Act, which would make it easier for people with HD to receive Social Security Disability and Medicare benefits. Prior to the onset of HD, my niece and most other adults affected with this disease were tax paying citizens like you and I. We are up to 83 cosponsors of H.R. 718 in the House and 6 cosponsors of S. 648 in the Senate, and we need YOUR help to get Rep. Grace F. Napolitano on board. You can do so by writing to her as well as your own congresspersons to support these bills.

Trying to keep a long story short, we live in a rural area where a car is needed. We can not afford to eat and now have no car to go to food banks or take senior citizens to the doctors. We had a perfectly good car we were forced to get rid of because they do not want people to have 15+ year old cars anymore in this area. So the senior citizen of the family takes out a loan to get a used car. Rock bottom price in this area is $5000. Car dies one week later. It is at a garage right now but we have no way of getting around $500 for the repairs. Disabled member of the family is willing to sell their Playstation 3 all games and accessories but we can not fork out the ridiculous price to place an ad in the newspaper, so who will know I am trying to sell what little I have? Neither of us can walk to a store. We are house bound without a vehicle.

The good news is however, that her and I have keep frequent contact via SKYPE.COM video calls.(thank God 4 skype!) She is in the same position as I am, realizing that she too cannot find closure to our love, and therefore we have decided that we want to be together, except forever this time. So I decided to move to Buenos Aires, Argentina indefinitely to be with the only girl for me.

However it is not enough for me to just get a plane ticket and rush over to South America and live happily ever after, I will also need a job, as well as a room or a hostel to stay in while I job hunt. ( Quite frankly, I am not trying to be unemployed,broke, and living in her mother's house in S. America, no thanks!) Therefore I am also hoping to earn/receive enough money to enroll in a program called ITTO or (International Teachers Training Organization) in Guadalajara, Mexico to receive my license to teach English as a second language(TESL) before going to live in Buenos Aires.

Target date you ask? I am trying to get out of here by early september or october of 2011. As it stands I am basically homeless, out of school for vacation, (meaning no financial aid) and have been doing temporary labor jobs which barely keeps me fed on the weekly basis, let alone permit me to save money for the provisions necessary to go on this life altering journey to find the truth of true love.

All together, I estimate with the cost of a round trip ticket to Argentina ( round trip, because non- citizens are not permitted with one way tickets) as well as the cost of the fore mentioned ITTO course and travel to and from Mexico from Colorado, plus the survival money I will need once ( god willing) I arrived in B's A's, I stand in a financial need of about $5,000.00 or slightly more.

I realize there are people with more important matters that can use money, and I truly hope they receive charity just as I would like to. However this is a petition for those who understand what it is like to let the perfect one get away and could do little or nothing about it, like a child who drops their ice cream off the cone and sadly watches as it melts on the side walk. By donating to this cause, you can be the "adult" who walks up to that kid, fumbles in his pocket for some spare change to present that poor kid with a new ice cream that takes the tears from their eyes. She is my ice cream, and I don't want another flavor for my whole life. However it is not enough for me to just get a plane ticket and rush over to South America and live happily ever after, I will also need a job, as well as a room or a hostel to stay in while I job hunt. ( Quite frankly, I am not trying to be unemployed,broke, and living in her mother's house in S. America, no thanks!) Therefore I am also hoping to earn/receive enough money to enroll in a program called ITTO or (International Teachers Training Organization) in Guadalajara, Mexico to receive my license to teach English as a second language(TESL) before going to live in Buenos Aires.

Target date you ask? I am trying to get out of here by early september or october of 2011. As it stands I am basically homeless, out of school for vacation, (meaning no financial aid) and have been doing temporary labor jobs which barely keeps me fed on the weekly basis, let alone permit me to save money for the provisions necessary to go on this life altering journey to find the truth of true love.

All together, I estimate with the cost of a round trip ticket to Argentina ( round trip, because non- citizens are not permitted with one way tickets) as well as the cost of the fore mentioned ITTO course and travel to and from Mexico from Colorado, plus the survival money I will need once ( god willing) I arrived in B's A's, I stand in a financial need of about $5,000.00 or slightly more.

I realize there are people with more important matters that can use money, and I truly hope they receive charity just as I would like to. However this is a petition for those who understand what it is like to let the perfect one get away and could do little or nothing about it, like a child who drops their ice cream off the cone and sadly watches as it melts on the side walk. By donating to this cause, you can be the "adult" who walks up to that kid, fumbles in his pocket for some spare change to present that poor kid with a new ice cream that takes the tears from their eyes. She is my ice cream, and I don't want another flavor for my whole life. hmm i certainly don't like the idea of "begging" But when i AM a working class citizen and I'M poor but not poor enough for welfare( or any other conventional hand out)and u have to not pay this bill because i have to pay this bill plus im 3 months behind on our house payment because i had to pay school taxes ... what do I do ?? there is options not good ones u could become a prostitute , sell drugs , rob ppl but i think that would make matters worse .. u say get a job? I say " ive filled out 50 job apps last week 100 this week and nobody wants to hire u because u have been outta work to long..or whatever reason .. I am trying to move to Australia to study International Business at Bond University where my full tuition for the duration of my degree will be $14,420 per semester. I am going to move there with my girlfriend whom I intend to marry. She is an Australian citizen who's mother took her and four brothers from their close knit family when she was seven years old to move in with an alcoholic man who was to become her stepfather. Within the first week of moving to the states and in with the man they children had never before met, he began sexually abusing her. This would continue to happen multiple times a week for six years. She kept it a secret because he threatened to kill her if she told anyone. When she was eleven years old she told one of her friends whose mother reported this to the authorities. She was then taken to a safe house and after a few weeks and his denial of doing so, her mother told her that she was a liar and that her stepfather did no such thing. As if such a young girl could describe so vividly such horrible acts. After moving back into the house and being told by her mother that she was a liar, he continued to molest her for another two years. He also physically and emotionally abused her and her brothers. She finally moved out of her house her senior year and moved in with my mother who unfortunately grew up in a very similar environment (I found out about both their pasts about a month apart from each other). My girlfriend having been estranged from her Australian family and being forced to live in an abusive household for years, only knowing her mothers word to be the truth, was able to reunite with her Australian family this past December. Her mother had told her that their family over in Australia was corrupt and they all hated each other, and that they were generally bad people. She had also been emailing the family about what how horrible her kids were and that my girlfriend was a loose young girl doing an assortment of drugs, all of which was false as she had been with me the last year and we don’t indulge in such acts being that I’ve had relatives O.D. and her stepfather is an alcoholic. When her Australian family came to Disneyland they called her up and she was able to go visit them for their two-day stint in California. She was able to find out just how wrong what she had grown up knowing to be truth was. The family that supposedly hated each other was on an 18 day family vacation involving 13-15 hour flights each way with 12 people ranging from grandparents to grandkids. Obviously they don't hate each other or they wouldn't take such a trip. They were not corrupt, but hard working honest people consisting of two police officers, a brother and brother-in-law who were partnering in an entrepreneurial endeavor and the others working for the family engineering firm. My girlfriend has been seeing a therapist who has helped her in to begin recovering from the psychological damage. She has also been establishing a very healthy and happy relationship with her Australian relatives via the Internet and phone calls. Her uncle has offered to pay for her throughout college if she goes to university there as top schools cost a mere six thousand dollars for citizens. She is weary of going because she does not want to leave me as I have a played a big part in helping her find the strength to leave her abusive family and getting her in touch with my mother who has been the best motherly figure she could possibly have. I want her to go as I know how much having her family means to her. Seeing how happy she has become at the thought of reuniting with her family as well as seeing her father who she has not seen or talked to for 11 years, I know in my heart that she needs to go. As you could imagine I do not want to leave her either and that is why I am trying to get myself over there. We plan to get married as soon as I can get into a career and be able to support her, she wants to sooner, but I wont until I can give her what I feel she deserves. As you can imagine, spending three to four years apart on almost literally opposite sides of the earth would be very emotionally stressful on the both of us and the last thing I want to do is to make her hurt anymore than what she has had to endure.
My plan is to move to Australia and attend Bond University where I will get a bachelors degree in International Business. Bond runs three semesters a year as opposed to the generic two semesters per year of most other colleges. This will allow me to finish my degree in two years. The cost of tuition will be $86,520 total equaling $14,420 per semester, which is the same as it would be at the University of Queensland, which is a public college as opposed to private. The cost of on campus living ranges from $640-$10,040 a month depending on what would be available. I have a road bike that I am going to use for local transportation and I plan to sell my car which KBB value is $13,000 and buy a motorcycle that I can ride for longer trips so I can save on gas. The remainder of the Car money will obviously go towards tuition. I am currently in school in California and trying to get a job while in school. As soon as this semester ends I am going to try for a job on the offshore oil platforms as they can make $1,500-$2,000 a week from what I have read. I plan to work that until September semester would start in Australia. That would give me between $13,500-$24,000 depending on what they pay and whether they use a one week off two week on or one week on one week off schedule. I plan to work while in school full time there. My family cannot afford to assist me as both of my parents are sales people and this economy has greatly reduced their incomes to barely paying the bills.

I have a soft spot for senior citizens--always have.
I have had a long time handyman business and usually give seniors a discount. Most are lonely and want to talk. And so, after hearing their stories, I usually charge them for materials(if any) and take lunch, a pie, a plate of cookies, whatever for my labor. I leave with a really good feeling and then when I get home, dread sets in because I have bills of my own. Normally, I would work harder the next day to make it up. Enter the recession and hard times for most everyone. Now, I find myself a senior citizen, struggling, behind on my mortgage and utilities.
I have never asked for help before. Won't you help me keep my business going so I can continue to help the parents and grandparents of others.

My dream in life is to help the poor and the needy, i have been doing this through out my life, but would like to do more, like constructing one massive city with all facilities for the old aged people and the Orphans i like to get help from all of you out there,

"Daily we read and hears so many heart-rending cases of murders of senior citizens, children sending their parents to old age homes, children misbehaving or ill-treating parents and throwing them out of their houses. Their progeny seem ashamed of their parents nowadays.

What is this happening? What is the fault of the parents? Is this their fault that they have become older now, or their fault is that they have wasted their entire life for their children by meeting their needs and expectations, giving their children everything they have ever wanted, from sending them to schools to helping them in being self-dependent? Or the fault of parents is that they have loved their children so much? And so good is the result, that senior citizens are getting out of it. Instead of receiving love of their children, daughter-in-law and grand-children, they are getting humiliation, negligence and disrespect. This is seriously very saddening and disappointing.

Did parents ever teach their children to forget their moral values, respect and love for them, when they become old? No, they have never taught this. Parents can never even expect this from their children. The feeling of being ignored by your loved ones kills from inside.

Recently, I came across an old lady, who lives in our neighborhood. The kind of life she is leading is inhuman. She is living just because she is not strong enough to commit suicide. She is living with the hope that one day she will get back the love she has been showering on her children till now. I was in tears, when I heard her story. She was crying and telling me what has happened with her. Her husband had left her; she was living with her only son. She gave everything she had to her son; property, house and ornaments to her daughter in law, hoping and believing that her children will take care of her in future.

But now she is in a state, which is really very disgusting and pathetic. She did not even got proper three meals a day, no good clothes to wear, and what she gets is humiliation and ignorance. After every two days, her daughter-in-law fights with her because that poor old lady never cleans the floor neatly or washes the clothes. She also sometimes get beaten up by her only son. Now her children are planning to send her to an old age home, where she’ll be all alone.

This is the condition of senior citizens now days. Children have forgotten their moral values, culture and even love for their parents. They have become so busy in their lives that they do not have time to take care of their parents.

People, who do these things with their parents, are building up their future also. Children learn from parents and in future they will surely be facing same circumstances as of what they are doing to their parents. Because, whatever you do comes back to you one day............

We had to relocate to texas due to my husbands job and had no place to live so we ended up buying a house. We thought it would give us some kind of stability. Well it hasnt we have had to take out a few credit cards just to make sure we can make the monthly mortgage and now we are way in over our heads oweing about 8,000 dollars. My husband has had a steady job now for 9 years but it still doesnt seem to be enough. I have gone to several jobs but in a city of over 700,000 citizens there isnt much available.
