In short, I am a recovering addict who has been doing extremely well until I was laid off and have been having extreme issues with paying my medical expenses. If I had 300$, I would be able to get by. I live in the suburbs of Chicago Thank you and God bless during this tough time.

In Urgent Medical-Related Debt, Need Work!

Posted by SoftSpoken on 2012-05-06 17:58:03

Good Evening,

My name is Matt and I live in the west suburbs of Chicago. I am currently unemployed and finding it difficult to find even the most basic, menial job in this economy. While I have no felony convictions or anything that would bar employment, I am forced to rely on public transportation to get around at this time.

I am a recovering addict and I have been on methadone treatment for almost 5 years. I am on a low dose and I am having difficulty paying for my medication. I would like to be able to go to the clinic once a week instead of 5 times a week. This is hurting my ability to find work because I spend 3-4 hours on the bus going to the clinic.

I have a proven success rate in my sobriety and I just want to chip away at this awful bill hanging over my head. If I cannot pay for my medication I don't know what I will do. I can be reached at mmroch78@gmail.com. I can supply resumes as well to serious inquiries.

I have worked in call centers and related fields for the last 10 years, and I am warm, energetic customer service professional. I'd make an excellent ambassador for your company or small business, whichever it may be...

Both my father and I have been having very tough times, I am bi-polar but haven't had issues of any kind in quite a while. I just don't know what to do, my own parents are having money problems, and I don't have anywhere else to turn. I ask in the sincerest manner possible for any help you can provide: Pace bus cards (the monthly ones for 60$ are lifesavers), maybe 200-300$ towards my medication. I do have some things of value, mainly electronics that I can sell. Please contact me ASAP.

Thank you in this embarrassing time of need.

Kindest Regards,

Matt (5/6/12)
Hi, my name is Steven I decided to quit my job and pursue my music full-time. I have the opportunity to move from Cleveland to Chicago, possibly work with some more experienced artist, and learn more about the business. I do have plans on getting a job but everything seems to be moving really slow. So what asking for here is about $600 so I'm not a complete burden on the people who are kind enough to let stay with them temporarily.

Thank You for your consideration.

Needs Job!

Posted by dew31 on 2012-02-17 03:58:05

I am 26 yr old single male. Lost my job and have yet to find solid employment, its been over a year! Growing up I was the kid who had a job before anyone else, always working, always saving. Lately, like many other people it has been tough.

I need a job! Any job, doing anything! I have carpentry skills, computer skills, and sales experience. I dont have March rent and am subletting my apartment to get out of the lease. Where I go I am not sure. It has been so tough lately that eating 1 meal a day is a luxury. Today I ate left over french fries, about 1 servings worth. That was my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have no insurance, never collected a unemployment check, or govt check in my life. No car, no money. Losing hope.

I have $8 to my name. No checks coming in and I am really worried. Im not a drunk/ drug addict, just fallen on hard times. I never imagined myself being in this position. Never thought it would happen to me. I guess Im just reaching out for any potential job offers, Or help.

Sorry. Thank you.

P.S. I am in Chicago, and will travel anywhere for work. Or even telecommute. Anything...

Need money for car repairs

Posted by Spyke on 2011-12-15 20:58:59

Help! We got hit by a drunk driver on dec. 02. The guy that hit us had a BAC of .246, and ran a red light. We got 2700 for our car from insurance. WE are trying to repair and rebuild our credit ruined because of student loans so we had no wish or extra income to finance. We wound up getting a 1994 Ford Taurus wagon. They put a new engine in it that's going to be done friday, but it's still a 17 year old car that will probably need repairs. WE are on a tight budget, and we would appreciate being able to build a rainy day fund for the car so that we don't have to worry when something will go wrong. We're fairly good at fixing most things. Our last car was a 1996 Taurus and we fixed the brakes, rotors and calipers, replaced the battery and terminal wires, spark plugs and wires, changed all fluids, repaired hoses, and we were about to replace the catalytic converter on our own when we got hit. Previous cars we've worked with have taught us how to replace tires, radiators, water pumps and fuel pumps. We plan to maintain our new car in a similar way so that we can keep it for a couple hundred thousand miles. It's not just about keeping costs down, it's about keeping a serviceable car on the road and out of crowded landfills. It's about a car that you love through a long relationship, a vehicle that you understand every quirk. It was that way with my '96, and I just know it will be that way with my '94 With a rainy day fund I would feel much more secure when it comes to fixing the inevitable problems that come with a comfortable old lady like a 1994 taurus LX wagon. She is getting a new engine so the head gasket issues of the second generation Taurus's 3.8L essex are going to be mitigated if not eliminated for at least the next 100,000 miles, but the tranny and AC especially, followed by suspension, electrics, brakes, steering, pumps (fuel and water), and of course the routine tires, oil, wipers, brake pads, etc. are all possible future repairs. All the fun of having a car that you can't lightly trade in. Parts usually run $80 average if it's anything like the '96 in terms of maintenence, ommiting outliers like tranny and AC. Any help you can give would be appreciated. I know I'm starting to sound like Ray Stantz talking about the pile of 1959 caddy that became the ghostmobile.

Oh and also, I'm up to suggestions as to what I am going to name this car. So far we've had a 97 dodge stratus named Pearl, a 1994 Buick LeSabre named Einhander, and our last car was a 96 Taurus named Wyrd (after the goddess of Fate). Yeah I picked the name after the first 2 listed died in the same month and we scrapped both for this one. Ultimately totalled in a wreck with a drunk driver was a fitting end for such a car with such a name, but it still makes me sad, that much AMERICAN BUILT and ENGINEERED chicago assembled car with the 3.0 L vulcan engine, cast of iron in the forges of Ohio and not a single leak despite topping 153k. Only 145 HP but it got the job done beautifully and dependably. You just don't get cars like that in the new millenium. *sigh* i will miss my 3rd gen taurus. Every day i see a dozen of them being driven bearing the characteristic curves and oval rear window. Anyway. . .a rainy day fund would go a long way towards helping me to learn to love her older sister. Right now I'm thinking of calling her Providence.

Help with bills and expenses......NO BS

Posted by TG6676 on 2011-11-06 09:58:46

I never liked asking for help, but there comes a time when we all have to at some point ask for help on something. I fell on hard times recently and I was evicted from my apartment about 6 months ago. My job doesnt pay me a lot so I am struggling to keep up with my car note, cell phone, insurance, maintenance, and general daily and weekly expenses. I nearly got my car reposessed 5 months ago and I've been staying at my ex-mother in law's house and my girlfriend's place off and on so I am not sleeping in my car. Most would think you could live with your girlfriend, but she wants me there it's her grandmother who's making life hard for the both of us right now. All I think about is the kind words my girlfriend tells me and what little she can do to help me and the most selfless thing she did recently was she gave me her last $20 for lunch and gas just so I could get to work that week and deep down many days I sit in my car before work and cry because nobody has ever been that giving to sacrifice her own needs to help me out. I want to marry this woman she's been nothing, but good to me and I feel bad that I can't do anything for her because I have nothing to give her which hurts me as a man because all I want is to make a life for myself and for the woman I love very much. I want to get in school to be a mechanic since I like working on cars and want to fix them. I want to give my girlfriend a proper life with me as her husband and being able to support her the way a man should support his woman. There's no words that could really say how much going to school really means to me. Whatever you can give will truly be appreciated. I can't get any mail at my ex-in laws or my girlfriend's apartments so I have to have it sent to this address:

Donations sent by money order are preferred. Thank you and god bless you :-)

Laid off Information Technology Student

Posted by vbhiggies on 2011-09-23 01:58:10

I am a 42 year old student working towards my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Recently, I was laid off from my employer, at which time my daughter (19) and I are both enrolled as full time students at universities in the Chicago area.

I have filed for unemployment insurance and diligently looking for another position in my field of study. I don't want to drop out of school at this time due to the fact that it practically impossible to find another position without a degree due to the current economic climate.

I am struggling to stay afloat and search for employment prospects. Any help that you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
To Whom It May Concern:

I will be walking on behalf of the AIDS Run & Walk Chicago on Saturday, October 1, 2011. I am choosing to walk to raise money to help people impacted by this disease. There have been more than 450,000 Americans die from this disease and over a million more are living with HIV.

South Side Help Center (SSHC) has for over the past twenty years been a strong proponent and advocate for HIV/AIDS prevention and education, particularly in the Black community. Therefore, I am personally requesting your help through donations and/or participation in AIDS Run & Walk Chicago 2011.

Through the AIDS Walk, your contribution will help to continue our deep commitment to serve the greater south side of Chicago with programs and services that are needed to increase the chances for a better quality of life for our disadvantaged youth, adults and families and HIV/AIDS clients.

Thanking you in advance for your kind support that helps to make the meaningful difference that enables SSHC to work towards achieving its goals.

save my home need $2000

Posted by bryanterry on 2011-09-06 20:58:49

I've like millions of others got caught in the crosshairs of this economic decline. On top of that impact I was left to save my home when wife of 17 years left;within a year i got deathly ill and was at local hospital ICU a month and a rehab Hospital a 2nd month, both in Ga, A spinal infection precipitated 4 minor stokes which in turn cost me my fulltime employment as a college instructor. I had served in Viet Nam and returned injured only to lose benefits due my new found anti-war position.
Like everyone else i finally got SSI and very small disability stipend.
Now each month my country dream home becomes a smaller prison as I struggle against the foreclosure monster. My mortgage equals my SSI so electric bills, medical bills, car insurance. (1985 Nisson) get juggled if im well enough to earn extra.
It's a long story but they all are.
I have a couple of creative projects with potential but my fear and day to day struggle drain me. I ve written most of a unique stage play/rock musical working title "God died in 66". An investment in the work would be considered{was in 1969 Chicago cast of Hair,as well as movies such as LeoFrank on GPS tonite }.
I am however begging for your help at this point. $2000 will dig me out of this financial grave

In need of money for school

Posted by bearindacity on 2011-08-21 16:58:49

Dear Readers,
I am enrolled in a networking program at Truman college in chicago and they just raised the cost of tuition. I owe them roughly $900 for the last two classes I need to take and I have no idea how I am going to pay. My soon to be wife is experiencing medical problems and has been put on leave from work, so we are surviving on my meager pay. I would be so very grateful to anyone who could provide any help. Every penny helps and everyone could use some good Karma.
Thank You,
Rob

Artist needs help to form Art & Animation Studio

Posted by Scottycomic26 on 2011-08-08 02:58:47

Hello, my name is Scott and I am here asking for help because I... have run out of every alternative to get my life and my project studio business off the ground. It's at a dead stop. I was laid off in March 2011 due to company downsizing, could not qualify for unemployment because the previous employers "claimed" I'd quit. Job hunted on foot in Chicago from March to August filling out 4-9 applications a day, 5 days a week without a single call from anyone. Exhausted all of my bank accounts, can not get a load due to not owning a car or home, had to sell my car just to pay off debts, lost my apartment because ex-roommate thought it was better to steal from me and lie about having a job than telling the truth. My parents are in the hospital, so they are in no shape to help me.

The only way I have been able to contact people is by relying on my girlfriend's Internet, electricity, helping her cook and clean while "guest staying" at her apartment but know this won't last. I ask too much of her help to watch my cat while I continue to look online.

All I ask is for someone, anyone who can help. My goal is simple: I need to raise enough money to start a art design, publishing studio which would bring in clients who need visionaries to help make their designs, commercials, products, books, ebooks, animation using the next wave of 3D technology, FX special effects for student filmmakers in Chicago colleges, to help bring in interns and show them the pros and cons to hone their skills, and finally bring together Chicago artists who wish to have their talents and skills to create extraordinary work for any and all who wish to see it.

Bottom line, I need help. Financial help. I don't know what else to do. I can't get a job, for whatever reason, I'm flat broke, exhausted from sleeplessness and stress. All I own is a laptop, some clothes, my wonderful artistic skills, (my undying determination, good sense of right and wrong, knowledge of computer programs, business sense, sharp humor and a kind heart to make my dream a reality. I really don't want to live under a expressway but if things don't change, it looks like my next post just might be my last.

For those of you who have read this and given some thought, please help by donating. Who knows, you might be lending out to the future "Industrial light and Magic" of the 21st century?

This is for more that just myself, this is for a cause that needs help. Help from people like you who know the value of the human heart. This is to help create a studio designed to welcome those who wish to create, strive, teach, animate, and pioneer. Imagination is the last, boundless frontier, let's be a part of that journey by helping one another dream it to fruition.

No dream ever truly dies, we just let them fade away.

Help me change that. Any help will do.

Thank you for reading.

It was disconnected due to non payments, it was disconnected and it is nearly a hundred degrees here in chicago. I have no where else to stay, no food, no air and has a history of passing out frequently. I am SCARED living there alone and if something happens, I have no one to turn to. They will not restore my service unless I pay and it is impossible! I have no where else to go and no other help to turn too. Any help would be appreciated. PLEASE

Help Me Purchase A Foreclosed Home.....

Posted by ksuave007 on 2011-06-15 00:58:56

Hello,

I have been out of a full time job for the last 2 1/2 yrs living at home with my dad which has been a total wreck. I moved in with him after I lost my job working for Pepsi back in June of 2008. I did end up going back to school for computer networking & I am currently A+ certified as a computer technician. I have managed to get short term contracts to pay the small bills that I have but nothing has come through that will allow me to get my own place. Living in his place has been a total disaster...he suffers from a crack cocaine addiction so that means he is constantly going through mood changes that I suffer from, he is constantly begging, I don't have much privacy & he is all around rude. I don't leave out of my room unless im eating, going to the bathroom, or leaving out of the front door. I have 2 sons's 15yrs old and 6yrs old and I don't want my kids here because I stay confined to my room & don't want my kids to feel confined. I often come home to the smell of crack being smoked throughout the house & it makes my stomach turn. I would like to purchase a foreclosed home for me & my kids that I can call my own. Everything here that I speak of can be confirmed.... I am asking everyone who reads this & cares or who can even relate to this situation please donate what you can. Even if I can't buy a home from the donations recieved I will get my own place and pay the rent up for at least a year & will have a nest egg to keep me going until I find another job. This is not for paying of credit cards, to make a million bucks, or for that luxuary vacation....This is to put me in my own home and for me to have a piece of mind. Please donate $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 or whatever you can.
I am trying to raise approximatley $50,000 this is lower and more reasonable for ths who are interested in helping me. The picture listed is not the picture of the property. If you are a business and you donate I will promote your business and if your on ebay I will promote your auction.
