Right now I volunteer at a homeless shelter and with a church group that helps those in need...but I would like to be able to make a financial contribution as well.

Over the past few years I have grown with the help of some amazing people. Through this period I have accepted gifts that allow me to help others, holistic therapies and sights, including Reiki. I have spent a great deal of time and money building a holistic energy matrix. I have begun to see result with individuals who need the help I provide.
I find myself now struggling with debt. I work a full time job, as well as assisting with a friend's shop, related to my holistic work. Despite this I find myself swimming in debt just getting by. I have spent a great deal of time contemplating if I should go online asking for help, now I have reached the point that being in debt as far as I am may imperil the work I am doing. Also I would like to someday be able to help others without charging, so many who need assistance have little extra to spend on it.

After my owner's husband died three years ago, she's had to make a go of it alone and take a series of manual labor jobs to try and support herself and me, her 6-yr-old pet dog. She does not receive any widow's pension as her husband was self-employed and so she has accumulated credit card debt because her own self-employment salary does not cover all of her utility and insurance bills, and some of my vet bills (I had an abcessed tooth, I'm ashamed to say, and that turned into a $400 procedure), and so she's been charging big bills such as auto insurance and machine repairs to her credit card. She says her truck is 15 years old and has over 130,000 miles on it, so she mostly commutes to our nearest town for yard work whenever it's available. She enjoys hard work, but right now, there's not enough of it around to cover our monthly expenses and so she's had to take out loans and we are getting deeper into debt each month. Please help this furry e-panhandler and her mom if you can.

I moved in with my girlfriend 2 months ago. I left Boston to come be with her in NYC. My work had run dry until April. She had just been evicted from her apartment by a slumlord landlord who stole her belongings. We were living from paycheck to paycheck. Supporting each other as best we could. We didn't have enough money to get an apartment of our own, so we got a one month sublet, which ended up being a nightmare-living in a closet with our 2 cats, and dealing with the scum of the earth roommates who made us feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, and awful. During that first Monty, we spent our savings just living. We both work in the creative fields, myself a musician, an she an actress. Work was spotty at best. We borrowed money from friends and family, feeling terrible about ourselves every time. Mid-month, I decided to file for unemployment. (something i had never thought I'd ever do)
The money we were expecting from that would have paid her union dues, giving her a pay bump by about 400%. This would have enabled us to not only survive, but get on our feet and pay back our friends/family. About a week and a half after filing, my boss calls me and tells me I can't file, or he'll go out of business due to the fact he's never paid insurance on his employees. He convinced me he'd cover my unemployment pay (totaling $4,343) if I agreed to recind my claim, thus saving him tens of thousands of dollars in back-taxes. I agreed. As soon as I'd done that- he tells me his lawyer advised him not to do that, and that he never agreed to that in the first place.
I have now been playing phone tag with my unemployment agent for weeks trying to restart the claim, and have the state go after him for the money he owes them.
Meanwhile, at the end of January, we had to move again. We couldn't find a place in time, and ended up staying in a motel in Stamford for a night while we made appointments to see a few places. We awoke to the front desk and housekeeping ladies banging on our door, telling us we have to leave or they'll call the cops. We are still fighting Hotwire.com for charging us for that.
Luckily, we found a place that night. The expenses of having to move though, totaled over $500. (rental car, motel, storage)
The apartment we are in now is shared with 4 other people. It's a two bedroom. There are 3 people sleeping in the living room. There are cockroaches. We once again have to move out, by March 7th. We have applied for foodstamps. (they have yet to be approved)
This time around, we have no money to move with. Our resources have been tapped. We are out of options. Work is still spotty, and we have borrowed from everyone we know.
We have a week to come up with rent, cell phone bills, and moving expenses. Nevermind money for food to ear everyday. (as I type this, we are preparing to go out and sell some things for food money)
I have never been this scared in my life. I doubt that writing this is going to make a difference, but I have to try everything.

If anyone reading this wants a specific number that would get us out of this- its $5,000. Here's the breakdown:
$1,000 rent. (not counting a deposit)
$1760 my girlfriends union dues (which means she makes enough to get us on our feet)
$175 storage fee
$250 cell phone bills (it's a month late, an we're on the same plan)
$130 car rental to get our stuff out of the apartment
$40 rental car gas (they charge $9 a gallon if you don't fill the tank when you return the vehicle)
$1,000 for food for the two of us and cats' supplies. (food,litter)
And the rest would be to pay back some of the people who've already been there for us helping us along the way.

Please. Please help. We are a young couple in love. Scared. Trapped. Out of options.

I have been trying to get my locksmith business started for 1 year now. I do some work but there are lots of things i still can't do because of lack of equiptment that i can't afford now. Things have been tough with my wife having to have surgery and many other stumbling blocks this year i try to put as much as i can back it to the business. My wife thinks that i'm not charging enough sometimes for my services but in most cases i'm trying to help other though these troubling times. I'm not like some locksmiths that will rip people off but instead i want to help people out. I understand that sometimes you can lock your keys out of your car and you just can't afford to pay someone money you not really have to unlock your car. I know that when my grandmother was living that she had to use locksmiths to unlock her house door after she was locked out. I know that people on fixed incomes are getting rip off by some locksmiths. I want to help all the grandma's and grandpa's out there that need locksmith services with affordable services and work with them so that they don't have to worry about taking money from their food budget but they can still have security they need. I have got some equiptment but i need a code machine and other equiptment to do the job right and make my services more affordable. I am in need of around $12,000 dollars for new equiptment and also for concrete work to put up a building that i have had purchased for a few years now and have not had money for concrete work.So that i can use it for locksmith store. I would also like to add employees later if i can get enough work for them to do. God has been good in keeping our needs supplied during these hard time. Since we have had lost of income it seems like every time that we don't where our next meal might come from he fills our table again. Chase Manahatten is charging my husband 29.99% interest on his samll business loan. He was a general contractor but has had to lay off all of his employees and now he wears his tool belt again. In this economy he often goes months without work. His payments are $800.00 a month and all that covers is the interest - does not touch the principal! We will NEVER get out from under without help. 25 donors at $1,000 each would do it - or 5 at $5,000 would be great too. He is a hard worker and good provider, I am a stay at home mom, our youngest has many health issues that prevent him from going to school, so I home school him. We are truly positive people with an abundance of faith. We seem to be that couple who everyone can turn to whenever they need help, whatever it may be. We always do our best to help others out...no questions asked. Unfortnately now we have fallen to the position of being the ones and need and seem to be all on our own.
This started nearly a year ago, we were living happily in a place we had always wanted to be. My husband worked a graveyard shift, one night while he was workin an intruder came into our home and brutally attacked me physically and more... Thankfully by the grace of God our kids were safe, one asleep and the older one kept her brother safe as she heard everything. Needless to say, we no longer felt safe in our home, and I was barely functioning. My husband did all he could to make us all feel safe. But the only thing I could think of is that we needed to move, and far away. So we did. We moved 3 hours away to our home town, hoping to find comfort in family. This is where our financial struggles began, a big sudden move like that nearly wiped us of our savings and my husband took quite a pay cut. But still the positives out wieghed the negative. Finally months later I began to realize I could turn this into something good, so I went back to school. With making less $ I was approved for financial aid. All was ok, and then this semester I went to register for school and I couldn't because they had overpaid me on financial aid so I now have an $765 balance that I have to pay before I can even get back into school. We had been relying on financial aid and student loans to help keep us afloat through out the year. Not even a week after that we were headed on an end of summer road trip and our truck broke down 175 miles from our home. We had to have it towed at $4 per mile plus an $85 hook up fee, so nearly $800. Now they are charging us another $400 to replace a part that cost only $80. So, the truck is still there. It seems now that every week something else keeps coming up. We just need help to catch up, just get over this slump. Our account is now in the negative because we have to get food and things just to get through the week. We have looked into payday loans, and I'm afraid that would just make matters worse. Especially since they only offer $300 which won't even cover the negative acct we already have. We've sold old clothes and other items we had on craigslist to help with gas and food. We are out of options now. We only need help or a loan to get through to January and by then with any luck I can get my financial aid and student loans. Any help is greatly appreciated. Its a horrible feeling to not know what is coming next or to know if we will continue to get poured on or if finally the sun may start shining again soon. Thank you for listening to my story.

I rceived a notice from my bank last week informing me that my account is overdrawn & they will start charging me $25 a week if its still overdrawn & will close my account withen a month. Hello, my name is Janet. My mother and i have been struggling since i was little because it is only me and her all alone without any other family. We have tried to hang on and have struggled to make it through. But now my mother has started getting very sick. She has a liver problem and just recently they told her one of her heart veins isn't working like it should. Because of this she has stopped working and now we don't have money to pay for her medications and exams she needs. We also can't pay the rent at all where we live. We live with people who rent us a very small room and are overcharging us without giving a care of my mother's condition. They even raised us the rent knowing we can't even pay the current rent they were charging us. We were paying $400 and now the man raised it to $600 while seeing my mother sick. We really want to get out of there. But we don't have any funds at all. And everywhere else they are trying to charge us a lot of money for a room. I don't know what to do, I don't want my mother sick and then ending up in the street with her in her condition. Please someone, help us out in our time of need. Help us get out of where we are, and help me be able to take care of my mother. We really need donations! Please donate whatever amount you can, I've tried going to churches and places where they help people and they don't help me at all. Can people please donate at least $4 or $5.
