Help A Navy Family Get Home!

Posted by iRoman on 2012-05-19 18:58:10

We are raising money to help Veterans and their Families that are in Need! Currently we are focused on a Navy family that is in dire straights! The husband is a Veteran who has just been released early from the Navy due to government budget cuts. The wife has just undergone hip and leg surgery and is currently disabled. They have two small children ages 1 and 3. They are currently in debt and have been living out of a hotel. They lost military housing a few weeks ago. Also their car has broken down. They are currently in Virginia. They were kicked out of the hotel and as of now they are literally on the sidewalk. They have no place to go, and they have no money. They need money so that they can travel back to Illinois where their families are! Please please help! Help a Navy Family get home. All donations will be used to help this family and many others like it!

A Twist in the Road, One Step Toward Hopelessness

Quiet giving means to help others without fanfare, without recognition. I've done this all my life. From buying school clothes for my childrens' friends, paying for glasses for the cashier at our local store, or paying an elderly stranger's grocery bill...God tells us to help each other, no matter how small. Now the shoe is on the other foot. I am in need. I am scared and now understand how it is to wake up every morning with fear and anxiety hanging over my head. I am a teacher who has been a victim of budget cuts 5 times in my career. It has taken me up to two years to find another full-time job each time it happened. I lived off of early withdrawals from my teaching retirement fund while I worked part-time jobs during those times. It is all gone now. I am single mother with two children, no alimony or child support. We have always struggled, but managed to make do with what we had. It wasn't easy, but we were able to keep our home for 16 years now. I have experienced a debilitating illness over the past year and will not be able to return to teaching. I never thought while I sat in college studying for my career, that I would one day be virtually penniless with no place to turn to. I have sold all valuables and now have nothing left to pay the bills or keep our home. I know God hears me, but perhaps the journey is one of empathy for others and of understanding true suffering. I am thankful for the journey, and the lesson is difficult. I have failed my children and myself. I was willing to accept my fate, until a friend told me about this website. If you find it in your heart to help me and my family, I assure you we will pay a portion back to others here in WV who are suffering as well. One day, when I am back on my feet, I would like to be a philanthropist, creating a non-profit organization using quiet giving. Thank you for listening, sometimes it helps just to get it out. Thank you also for your generosity and understanding. Even if you choose not to help my partiuclar family, please be aware of other hard-working families in your own community who may need your help too. Have a blessed day, Mrs. Birdlegs Please help, my family matters too.

10 Things for My Babies

Posted by birdlegs on 2012-05-12 17:58:10

To my babies,

1) You will always be safe.
2 There is no such thing as a Boogie Man.
3) You can always come home.
4) I will always be here for you.
5) There will always be laughter and singing and dancing.
6) The sun always comes up,even on cloudy days.
7) You will never have to worry, I can fix it.
8) Study hard and you will go somewhere in life.
9) Be good to yourself and others.
10) When you're wrong, say your sorry.

16 years that flew by...

To my teenagers,

1) Danger may find you, be stronger, faster, and smarter.
2) You will sometimes be afraid, but I will comfort you.
3) Home is where your heart is, no matter where, no matter the circumstances that seperate you.
4) I will always be where you are when you need me.
5) There may be days of quiet and the dancing subdued, but sometimes you see a rainbow on the rainiest days.
6) Sometimes the sun stays hidden behind the clouds, but its warmth is still felt down here on the ground.
7) Sometimes you have to fix it yourself, but I will stand beside your while you try.
8) Study hard anyway, even if your dreams are not what you wished for, the journey there is the just a small twist in the road.
9) Love with integrity and honor, even when it's difficult, even when it's not returned. Believe in love.
10) Forgive yourself when you ask others to forgive you. You are worth it.

I hope you will not see the struggles we face, the house we are in danger of losing, or the tears on my pillow late at night. I hope you never see my quiet desperation and uncertainty. I hope you never know that I’ve lost my job to budget cuts 5 times, just like I have now. I hope you cannot see the moments of hopelessness in my heart and how much I have aged in such a short time. I hope you remember how strong your Mama is and how I would do anything for you both. There is no SuperMom, just an ordinary Mom in extraordinary circumstances. And one last thing…..when you are given to, it is always with a promise that you will in some way give back.

Saving our home

Posted by tmc2858 on 2012-05-08 20:58:28

After caring for the past 5 yrs. for our moms, our son and his 3 kids under the age of 5, we have used all our resources. My husband has been in the hospital every year for surgery. Stents, quadruple bypass, and others. Having 6 other people to care for, our utilites tripled and the food budget was unbelievable. Keeping thelights and hot water running was so hard. It got so bad, that we did lose electric for 3 months. Our only hope is to file chap.7 and chap.13.
Please help save our small home. It is just the two of us now, we are in our 50's. We are trying to raise 2500 for our attorney..
Please no scams, loans just a donation of any amount from the heart.. Thank you.

Money Needed to openup a Restaurant

Posted by Startup on 2012-05-01 09:58:21

I am a very industrious person, do not waste money, no bad habits, gives to charities where needed and I want to now get out of debt and own my own business. I want to be debt free, help my child through college and continue to help other people.

I have finally found a business that cam make money if we keep it simple. A restaurant.
I’d like to start as soon as possible it is fully equipped and I have an opportunity to make it work. It is our family dream to own and operate a restaurant that offers good food at reasonable prices that people can afford. We will put our menu in front of hundreds if not thousands of hungry people that will be able to afford the low prices for the food we will serve to the community. This is not a get rich quick scheme to price gauge people but to work with their budget and meet their needs.
Our restaurant will be run by well experienced people in the business and a chef that has cooked catered to celebrities, We will start small and establish a business that will be passed down for generations, possibly a franchise.
We will need a small pick up truck, advertise, and be able to stock the restaurant and begin to pay our staff. This will enable me to take charge of my own life, make money, improve my quality of life for my family and contribute more to the community and pay more taxes to help run the country.
I will update you of any progress made through your efforts to help me get started. This is going to take some substantial amount of money to get started. Please Donate whatever you can to help me get this Up and running.

Help me get to the 2012 Disc Golf World Championships!

Posted by StrongHeart on 2012-04-27 15:58:11

I have been invited by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) to play in the World Championships this year. I am currently registered but now I am worried about not having enough money to make it there. The tournament is in North Carolina and I am from Michigan. This is the first year that I have been invited and would be devastated if a lack of funds prevented me from playing.

My husband has been out of a job for over a year now and we've been struggling to pay mortgage and electric enough as is. I work full time but it's not easy to live off one income. Until he finds a job, for which he is constantly searching, I don't have any extra money in my budget for extras like tournaments but this is such a great opportunity for me.

I need all the help I can get and every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated! I am going to be fundraising locally to help cover the cost of hotel accommodations.

Help support women in disc golf!

Shredded by docs, need help

I am a single mother and just underwent a hysterectomy and gall bladder surgery. I returned to work within 5 days of the procedure. I couldn't afford to be off work in the first place. Well, It was a mistake. I ended up tearing my bladder, and getting an infection. We live on a very tight budget, and each paycheck is allocated to a specific bill. When I lost 4 paychecks, everything has fallen behind. I need help to catch up my bills please. I don’t wanna lose everything or force my son to stay somewhere else because I can't afford us. Please does anyone have any extra to apply to my bills?

Please save my life from crumbling further

The last two years have been rather unfortunate. I was going to school, had a good job and a relationship of 5 years. Then my father died, and I had to move my mother with dementia into my home. This caused strain on my relationship and it ended. Then I was laid off. I didnt want to aquire more debt, so I stopped school. My mother also passed away several months ago. I am a strong person, and I dont give up. I have a new job (that pays 5 dollars less an hour) and I have faith things will turn around. But right now im 6 months behind on my student loans payments that I have to pay back since im not currently enrolled. I have maxed out my credit card. and I am near termination of my utilities. I also need several hundred dollars of work done to my car. I just want help to catch up on debt. I know I can manage with a tight budget if i can just knock out what ive fallen behind on. I work at a hospital helping people every day, and im an active member of the community including fundraising for AIDS and Animal shelters. Now I need someone to please help me.. Thank you

Money for MRI and hemiparesis recovery

Posted by donation on 2012-04-07 11:58:43

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is George Ivanoiu and I am the father of a child who had a dramatic birth which caused him a right foot and arm hemiparesis.

Adrian, my wife, had 2 more months to go before giving birth to a wonderful child Rares. However, on the 13th of May 1994 we had a quarrel with one of our neighbors from which contractions appeared and we had to go to hospital.

There, the doctor who had to assist Adrian said she can’t take one more
premature birth. In that time my child stopped from moving and had to
be artificially oxygenated when he was removed from his mother.

What is more, the nurse responsible for keeping the temperature constant in
my baby’s incubator felt a sleep so he was pretty close to being fried.

We have tried everything from movement exercises to alternative medicine but
nothing worked.

We are trying an MRI this summer to find out what happened that night, although we are in a short budget. Any sum of money is a blessing.

Please help!
