My brother doug is a decent Christian man who has never done drugs, drank or smoked cigs--which IM VERY PROUD OF!!! Checks can be made out to my brother Doug Ramos & mailed to my address which I will provide to anyone that calls me. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!!!

Im Looking For Donations For My Disabled Homeless Brother

Posted by tazbo68 on 2012-05-12 22:58:51

Im searching for anyone who can help my disabled brother Doug Ramos who has been homeless for a year now. He's sold about everything he owned except for his van that he lives in, so he has nothing else to work with to get money to help himself. Im very saddened & stressed out over his situation & I can only do so much because I dont have any income, since Im disabled myself & am waiting on an approval for my SSI & Disability case. So I just came across this website & posted this to hopefully get him some help with money or shelter. My family has done all we can and unfortunetely my dad is still having to work 7 days a week because he cant afford to retire and he doesnt even have enough $ to pay all his bills, so he cant help Doug except for paying for his cell phone & my mom is totally crazy & Doug just finally broke all ties with her which is a blessing. If & when I get my SSI & Disability then I can help my brother more but in the mean time he needs all the help he can get. He bounced out of the back of a moving truck going 85 mph and he received a settlement, since he was badly injured mentally & physically. However, sadly it was stolen from him. He has been struggling to survive and is waiting to get disability as well. He's now staying in his van in Manteca, Calif, so if anyone nearby can help him with a place to stay or feed him that would be awesome & we would appreciate it immensely!!! Doug is a very decent & honest Christian man who has never been on drugs & doesnt even drink alcohol, which Im very proud of!!! If you can help him with donations or a place to stay call me (Tammy Ramos) at (209)481-4792 I live near where he's staying & so it wont be a problem taking any donations to him.I dont have a pay pal acct. but will set one up if necessary.I will also accept donations by mail with checks made out to Doug Ramos so call me & I will give you my address. Thank you & May God Bless You All!!!!!!!!!

Trapped in a homeless shelter

Posted by Lost_in_KY on 2012-05-12 10:58:50

I'm about to be 51 years old and never thought I'd do something like this, but here goes.

I am disabled from a car wreck with a semi, among other conditions. I was on disability for 15 years, but lost it almost 5 years ago because the guy I roomed with was always gone and was supposed to take me to my doctor and Social Security review appointments. Then he got us thrown out of the apartment because he had hoarded his paychecks, was living off my money, and wasn't paying the rent or bills. He left me with a $1600 light bill ! I didn't find out any of this until we were evicted.

I have been homeless ever since, for nearly 5 years, bounced around from place to place, unable to stay in one place long enough to get thru the Social Security application process - I had to start all over again. In 2010, I spent 8 month living in a closet in Columbus, OH and starved.

I had a Social Security hearing in Lexington, KY last August and was dropped off at a horrible homeless shelter in Lexington, to stay until my hearing, when I was assured by a 'free' lawyer I'd get my disability back. I didn't and now I've been trapped in this gulag for more than 10 months, among druggies, alcholics, and ex-cons dumped off here by the police and the Dept. of Corrections. The building is infested wih bedbugs and there is black mold everywhere, which caused me to have an inner ear infection that finally blew a hole in my eardrum since I couldn't get treated for it. Men sleep on the floors and the bathroom is a chamber of horrors. I've had food poisoning 4 times and a couple months ago, more than 40 men sought treatment for food poisoning. The nurse who reported the cases to the Health Dept suddenly left, while the cook remains at work. A Veteran's Admin rep said he wouldn't give the food served here to his dog.

I'm trapped here because Kentucky discriminates against men in that it will not give us Medicaid cards unless we're already on Social Security. This prevents me from having a family doctor and care for my disabilities, which I need in order to win back my benefits. Under these conditions, I will never be able to get out of this nightmare.

I have a friend in Florida who wants me to come down there. FL will give me a Medicaid card and I could at least have a fighting chance to win my disability back. As I've said; I was on it for 15 years and was repeatedly approved every 2 years during the case reviews. I need to get out of this awful state if this nightmare is ever to end. I've lost almost 11 months of my life being warehoused in a place that's one step above prison, and I've done nothing wrong to deserve this. Yet I'm subject to the same rules and restrictions as the ex-cons who live on the floors above me.

I have no family left to fall back on, so all I can do is ask for help. I need money to get to FL so I can get a doctor and my disabillity back, and have a life again. It will cost around $500 to get my things shipped to Orlando, and another $200 to get me there. Then I'd need somewhere to stay until I can get thru the Social Security process again. After that, I'd be OK.

Thank you for reading all this any any help offered would change my life. I would do everything I could to help other homeless men so as to give back help given me when I most needed it.
I'm a single mother aged 35. I've lived in California for almost 14 years ( it will be 15 this year on memorial day weekend.)
I’m going to be a little blunt, because I'm tired and I want to give up so bad, but I can't. I'm better than that and my kids are my motivator. I wake up everyday and remind myself of 2 things :1) Faith is what you have when you all your beliefs are blown to hell. 2) What doesn't kill you makes you stronger -Nietzsche

I am a 35 year old educated, ambitious, head strong woman. I have owned my own business with my soon to be ex. I know what hard work and determination are. I went to private school and I am educated. I value my community and have always given back and will continue to do so. I also know that I have the drive and determination to get myself back on track. I'm not ASKING for a handout, I'm asking for help up! I also know what loss is. I don't have the business, a house or EVEN the car anymore. We lost everything. He bounced back , I didn’t. All I have is HOPE, that someone or some program can help me carve a path back to self sufficiency.
It's gone continually downhill.I am amazed at the allotment of programs for both housing and employment for all different walks of life. However, what about those that are just struggling. No hang ups, no record, just struggling and are LOW INCOME. I'm not writing this to make you feel sorry, I'm writing this because I have exhausted possibilities that I have researched both on my own or been given the information to do the work with.
There are people who struggle everyday through no fault of their own. They don't want a hand out, but help up would be a relief. Society doesn't need band-aids they need solutions.
Not every county, city or state program fits everyone's needs.
First of all Section 8 has been closed since BEFORE I left my marriage so that idea could never work. The list has been closed for years. Because I have limited time with my children, I do not qualify for CALWORKS. I have tried getting assistance in every way possible. I had very little unemployment left since I have been struggling to find work. I was delayed for about 3 months because they needed verification and I had to appeal and request a hearing. I have won my appeal but will only receive $91/week and for a short period of time.
I took a project management class through WIA in 2011, and I was able to get CTB benefits. I NEED HELP. I have hit the absolute worst point in my life and still refuse to give up. I have been looking for work and am now HOMELESS.I am in week 3 of staying in an extended stay hotel (paid for by my mother back east, who makes maybe $26,000/yr in PA) I recently sold my car because I needed to pay bills and rent. I have maybe $75 to my name.
The fact that they say there are services for low income/ homeless is frustrating. I say this because there is no category for me. I'm not a drug addict or in recovery. I don't have a mental illness. I wasn't in prison, I don’t' even have a RECORD. I can proudly say I've never been arrested or even in the back of a cop car. I'm not a victim of domestic violence and I do not beat my kids. Why aren't there programs in place for single parents struggling to make it? Everyday people that are responsible and respectable. I understand the need to assist those that may not have the capacity to take care of themselves. However, I have a huge problem with the fact that Santa Clara County & all programs (private, govt or state funded) will rehabilitate and reintroduced felons into the community, but if you're poor, homeless, no record, are looking for work, have high intelligence; sorry, you can't get help. This sounds extremely cynical and jaded, but I am a little after going through all I have.
I have been told constantly “I wish I could do something but we don't have any programs to help you.” My favorite reply is: "Yeah and you have done everything. I'm surprised you even knew about all the programs you did"
I have talked to employment counselors, program coordinators, program advocates and case managers, volunteers, just about anyone. The bankruptcy is hindering my chances of securing housing, even if I had employment.

The icing on the cake has to be with food stamps and General Assistance. I qualified for Cal-Fresh. However, at the time I had a car worth $2200. So I wasn't able to get General Assistance. Fast Forward a year later, I HAD to sell my car to pay bills. Now this month when I went for General Assistance, I qualify.

It's a never ending cycle, a constant push down. I can take public transportation to work, but to get around and see my boys and being able to transport them would be extremely difficult, not to mention financially stressing. I have scoured employment books, read articles, searched the library, spent hours online trying to find a job, program, a company, anybody who could be a resource whether for low income assistance or employment.
I can probably tell you about a plethora of services this county (Santa Clara) offers for both income assistance and job services.I am registered with CALJOBS; I know all the career sites and have my resume there. I get interviews, however I am starting to think the bankruptcy from loss of business is holding me back when employers do background check.
I also could teach the business writing class or the resume writing classes they offer at Work2Future, I practically did when I took them. I could do the same at Sacred Heart. I've been to InnVision and EHC. I’ve talked to Sunnyvale Community Services. Boy he was a treat he sounded older then my 80 yr old grandma. When I said I need housing and employment help, he gruffly told me to check the newspaper and hung up. I've called St Josephs in Gilroy. I've talked to a program coordinator at West Valley Community Services. I called the Sobrato Organization hoping they had ties to something and one the employees just by grace of god happened to pick up and take my call. I was able to talk to someone at HIF (they couldn't help)
.
I am responsible, respectable and just want to work, have a place to live, and be able to have my children 50/50. I have no police record. I am not in recovery, nor have I ever had to be in a program
I want to work and am attaching a compilation of ALL my work skills. I would not send this out otherwise, I would tailor it specifically to the job I am applying for.

I used to volunteer as much as I could I like being active in my community and helping others. I'm still about that I believe in PAY IT FORWARD. I believe the good you do comes back to you tenfold and that no matter what is going wrong in your life, someone else is struggling just as much if not more; so be thankful for what you have.
I attend church and was a hospitality volunteer for that as well.
I just need help getting on my feet. I have no family, other than my children here in CA.
I do not want to move back east and be far away from them. I want to work, I want to live again. I want to smile and mean it.

I hate what my life has become and know that I am SO MUCH BETTER THEN THIS.
Please help me : money is fine, but it's only a temporary fix, please help me find a program that can assist me in getting on my feet, direct me to employment, and most of all afford me the opportunity to have my children much more consistently so I can be a mom again.
Thank you
Courtney DiMiceli

PLEASE HELP ME... I only have a few days left

I'm a freelance legal assistant who has hit a rough patch. My hours are down, some of my client's checks have bounced and I have been served with an eviction notice.

Since the eviction notice, I have been able to stay current and even pay off a little of the back rent. But for the last two months, I haven't been able to pay anything towards the back rent. I got a letter from the property manager giving me to the end of the month to pay off the back rent OR ELSE.

I have nowhere to go. I will be unable to work. I don't even have a car right now so I have no idea how I will pack up and move out. I am going to lose everything.

PLEASE PLEASE someone PLEASE give me something - if a few people kicked in what they could spare, I might be able to mollify the property manager.

If anyone needs confirmation of the debt, please email me. I can provide contact info for my property manager.

Many thanks for reading my plea for help. Peace & Joy, Zazoo

In need of help to get life started.

Alright, its been a long hard road but Im finally starting to see the light. Long story short, IM IN A BIND! Im going crazy as to what to do. My mother passed away 2010 & I was no wheres near ready for her to leave me. So without a job, car or a completed education I took off on my own because she was all I had. I lived with friends while I tried to get my things together but there were some really bad, unsafe & unhealthy living situations so I bounced around alot & eventually wasnt able to get my diploma. I thought I finally caught a break, a girl said I could live with her rent free if I was her sitter 5 nights a week, that was quickly ended. After only 3 mths I find out the house was up for foreclosure & was going up for public sale within 3 wks. I finally found a more stable, long term place to stay a few mths ago, Ive looked into getting my GED & I start working in May for at&t customer service, then I can save up money for a car. I really want to get my CNAs but in order to do that I need my GED & the CNA course is $400 & the GED is $70. I would love to be able to take my GED next mth, the tests only come around every other mth & itll be available to take in early April & Id love to sign up for CNA courses after I pass the GED, my next steps after that is to start my at&t job, save up for a car, eventually get a CNA job then go to college while Im working CNA. Just right now Im in a bind, I cant seem to find a way to make money. Ive offered babysitting, pet sitting/grooming, housecleaning, lawn mowing, and no ones taken me up on my offers. $470 would change my life as silly as that sounds, but it would. Ive lost my mom, been homeless, ive been hungry for days, & Ive felt like I coulntor wouldnt make it, well thanks to some amazing people who are allowing me to stay here rent free until Im able to get on my feet I finally feel like things are starting to look up, I just need a littlr nudge in the right direction & financially Im unable to do it on my own. I hope someones willing to help me, help myself have a good life. Truth is Im terrified of doing it all alone, but I gotta make my momcproud & do whats best. Thanks everyone for reading :)

I'm a freelance legal assistant who has hit a rough patch this winter. My hours are down, some of my client's checks have bounced and I have been served with an eviction notice.

I am a single parent with a 15 year old. Last month I was able to cobble together enough money for the property manager to give me another month's grace period.

I am trying to get $2,000 by the end of the month. I already have $600 but need help with the balance $1,400.

I don't expect anyone to hand over that sum of money but maybe enough folks have $10 or $20 to spare, I can get another extension from my property manager.

If anyone needs confirmation of the debt, please email me. I can provide details upon request.

Many thanks for reading my plea for help. Peace & Joy, Zazoo

Sweetest Beagle in the world "Angel" Needs your help

Posted by beagleangel on 2011-12-24 17:58:51

Three years ago we adopted a beagle from the local SPCA. She was 27 pounds and had her ribs poking out. We got her upto a healthy happy 50 lbs. She has stomach issues, is timid.. But she is the sweetest girl. She comes up to everyone she meets sits and waits to be loved on. Doesn't bark at all. Wags her tail every time you talk to her. She runs to the door when it's time for a drive. Her favorite treat is beggin strips. Her favorite spot in the house is daddy's side of the bed.
She is in all matters our baby. I came home today to find her left shoulder swollen and she was having a hard time walking. I took her to the Vet ER. They shaved her and believe that she was bit by a spider. They are keeping her overnight. Giving her fluids, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Even though she is hurting, her tail is wagging.
The total vet bill is over 700.00 dollars so far. I will be picking her up in the morning. Over the past year we have pushed our credit cards to the limit. I was able to come up with the money. But now I don't have money for the rent. And the vet is expecting her to need more care over the next couple of days as the skin "sluffs" off.
My husband and I don't have any family to turn to. I have never begged for money. I've always been able to push through any of life's difficulties. I cried all evening that I'm unable to come up with any more money. Any help will go towards the 700 dollars that I've shorted my budget and to prevent bounced checks.

May God Bless you this Christmas.

Hi, My name is Melissa and I am an Emergency Management major. This semester some medical issues came up and all of the cost ended up going onto my student account. Now,I am just over $500 short of being able to continue my education. If I don't come up with the money by December 15th, 2011, I will be bounced from all of my classes, and will be left to find a way to pay for it. I break even with my job as it is. On top of paying for my tuition, I help out by paying rent and bills at home even though I am away so that my mom and sister have a place to stay. Whoever can help me, I promise that as soon as I am able to, I will pay you back. I just want to be able to keep studying so that I can provide a better life for my mother and sister once I graduate.

Hello, and please help... please read my plea

So Im homeless, and am I unemployed. I tried to come to Edmonton to start over. I thought maybe with the better jobs out here and cheaper rent, I could finally get on my feet. I have had a slue of bad luck this past year. I was laid off, I suffered through an abusive relationship, and then I left her. I bounced from couch to couch for the past 6 months trying to make enough money through part time jobs to get a home of my own. Im so tired. Im so hungry and Im alone. I just want to go home. I want to get back to my family, and I could really use a break, i could really use some help. I felt funny about coming on here, that begging for money was wrong. I just dont have any more options, the desperation is becoming to much. I feel as though Im sinking, I just dont have more more strength to swim.

I am only asking you to please send $1.50, the cost of a coffee.

Updates: September 11, 2011 - I have been able to get a part-time job which is good news, but the rest is just about the same. Thank you for your help Malum Designs
and Pete B.
I have known my fair share of hard times, such as the hurricanes of 2004 which totaled my house. I able to bounced back, but I have never been hit as hard as by this Great Recession and so I am doing my first Cyber Beg. Why? Because this is the first time in my life I have; been out of work for 2 years & 5 months, qualified for Food Stamps, had to liquidate all my assets and been without health insurance. I could go on, but basically am back to were I started when I was 20 years old. If enough of you send, say a $1.50 donation, the cost of cup of coffee, I should be able to fight my way back to financial stability. Perhaps it is because there is no way of tell if my needs are real. But if you work on the principal that small donations by large numbers of people add up to worthy amount of aid, why not help out? Pick three begs of your choice and send $1.50 to each. Thank you all for reading this and please be generous.

Perhaps it is because there is no way of tell if my needs are real. But if you work on the principal that small donations by large numbers of people add up to worthy amount of aid, why not help out? Pick three begs of your choice and send $1.50 to each. Thank you all for reading this and please be generous.

I am only asking you to send $1.50, the cost of cup of coffee!

Drowning in fear cause I cant pay our bills.

Posted by just2getcaughtup on 2011-07-25 15:58:46

My fiance and I recently had a baby. Due to the fact that our son was almost 3 monthes early, he spent the first 2 months in the NICU and I spent most of my time there with him. I have recently started working again, but my fiance had to spend 2 weeks off work with a back injury. Since all this has happened, we have just gotten behind on our bills and I cant seem to catch up. My bank account is about to be in the negative because I didnt realize that one of my bills would come out of it and I have a $250 check out there. Anyone whos ever bounced a check knows the bank is going to take me for about $200 in nsf fees cause they'll try to run it probably 5 times. I have $5 in my wallet and dont get paid again until friday. Everytime I think about my bills this month i feel so overwhelmed, I just dont know how we are going to catch up this month and I fear we will lose our car or our apartment.

Military Family in Need of Help

Posted by benjibabies3 on 2011-06-02 20:58:22

I want to start off with letting you know that this is very embarrassing to ask for help from strangers but I don't know what else to do. So here it goes.
My husband is in the Army and we have 3 amazing kids ages 9, 7 and 2. We have been married for almost 13 years and have what I like to call "The Picture Perfect Family".
We have recently gotten deep into debt and can't find a way out. This is a last resort to help dig us out.
I have not been able to find work since being stationed in El Paso, everywhere that I have tried requires you to know Spanish, which I do not. I have done babysitting to bring in money but the families that I worked for all moved with the military. Our money is gone as soon as it hits the bank going out to bills and not all of the bills get paid, they just keep adding up. When we think that we are finally getting caught up we get knocked back down again.
My Dad just passed away in January and we had to take out a military loan so that we could fly home. They automatically take out $200 a paycheck and that sets us back even further. Our mortgage check bounced along with two other bills so we have fee upon fee for those. That was just this month and doesn't count the others. The list just goes on and on.
I finally swallowed my pride and went to a food bank last week so that our kids had a warm meal only to be humiliated by the staff that worked there. I was told that since my husband is in the military that we should be financially able to pay our bills and not need a handout. Yes, we do get medical insurance and a steady paycheck but it isn't much. I have sold every unused item in our house and more. I have pawned every piece of gold that I owned and anything else of value. I have taken most of our kids toys to the consignment shop along with most of my clothes.
I am overwhelmed and don't know what to do. If you could help in any way our family would greatly appreciate it. Your help would go towards food for our family and hopefully some catch up on at least our utility bills.
We do not smoke, drink or do drugs. We are a kind and honest family.
Thank you for your time.
