I am asking for a minute of your time to please read and consider this. I live at home with my mother, my step father suffered a stroke in 2009, leaving him bedridden and with a feeding tube. His left side was completely paralyzed and he requires 24/7 assistance. My mother no longer is able to work because he requires to be feed every three hours though a feeding tube. The only income being brought to the household is his retirement check and what I bring in, which isn't a lot with a part time job and school. We have a lot of expenses which include, his meds, diapers, monthly hospital bed rental, and the specially formulated milk that is ordered monthly. Also, he does not get disability...And on top of that there is food, water and electricity bills, etc. It is a very hard time in our life and it would be so greatly appreciated if ANY amount of money was donated to help us out. I'm sure some of you can relate, maybe you've dealt with a sick family member, or through a tough financial crisis. I can not tell you how stressful it is for me, I am a young girl with so much responsibility. And I believe it only builds character and I will be hanging in there.
--If there is anyone out there with a kind and open heart, please, help me out.
Thank you for your time!

I guess to begin I should say I'm not in a life or death situation but I really could use some help.
Since I graduated from university, studying music I have worked in customer service as there were not a lot of jobs available where I live, but I was laid off from my job 12 months ago and got behind with my rent by a couple of months, which landed me in £600 worth of debt on top of the debts I had accumulated as a student.
However I found a new job after a couple of months and everything seemed to be looking like it would work out but after a month of working there I had to take 2 days off sick and my new employer decided to terminate my employment. I went back to applying for jobs and selling my stuff to pawn shops to try and make ends meet, receiving benefits but although I could eat and keep a roof over my head I couldn't pay off my outstanding rent.
Then after a few months of looking for work I was helping my mum's friend out with some heavy lifting and helping with her garden work as she lives alone and ended up with a really bad inguinal hernia which left me incapacitated until I could get surgery, I had the surgery which fixed the problem but the surgeon advised me the hernia was a very large one and they had to make a 7 inch incision in order to be able to remove it which left me bedridden for a couple of weeks after.
Then the worst thing happened, I was offered an interview for my dream job a few days after my surgery, I explained my situation and told the employer how much I wanted this job but they said they were really sorry but they needed someone immediately and could not wait.
One of my friends told me about these websites where people help out people in bad money situations. So I guess I'm hoping someone can see fit to help me because I'm not doing too well resolving my problems alone.
My plan is to try and get as much of the £600 rent I owe so I can pay my rent off and re-locate as jobs are so scarce where I live.
I spoke to my landlord and asked if I could move out to re-locate and pay them back when I get a job but they said they're sorry but I need to pay up to date before I move out, so I'm stuck here with no job prospects, I can't just leave owing them this money and run away from the debt because I feel I am a moral and generally decent person and after the understanding and patience they have shown me in putting up with this situation for a year, running out on them would be a disgraceful thing to do to them.
Thank you for reading this and if you can help me sort myself out I will be eternally grateful to you

I never thought that our family would be in a financial crisis of this nature. My father, 82 years old, a Christian, Korean War Veteran, retired teacher and one of the most helpful people you would know, has Alzheimer's Disease. He has been bedridden for the past 5 years. My mother, also a retired teacher is doing everything she can to pay all the expenses associated with caring for my father. Over the past 5 years nursing care cost over $250,000 alone! We have used all our saving and sold assets. With all the health insurance my father has, day to day care for an Alzheimer's patient is not covered by medical insurance! A word to all that reads this "Get long-term health coverage"! We are $2000 a month short. Our faith keeps us hopefully that one day things will be much better . I humbly ask for this help because my mother is now starting to become ill from the worry. She is the posterchild for the marriage vow "TILL DEATH DO US PART". I've seen her unwavering faith, strength and hope. I love her and I so wish I could do more to help her financially. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you!

Mom is sick with stage 4 cancer, and we need to make a wheelchair ramp
Posted by violetwolf on 2011-05-27 18:58:29
I am hoping to find someone with a big enough heart to help us out here. We have two children, 9 and 6, myself and my husband, and my step-mother. My husband hurt his arm in 2007 at work, and we are still in court with his former employer, because he lost use of his right arm. So he is unable to work, and we receive welfare money. I am a really bad type 1 diabetic and have been since I was 5, and am unable to maintain proper employment, so I am on on SSD. We also have my father's (he passed away at Christmas in 2010) fiance, who is may as well be a step-mother to me who lives with us, who has 3 types of cancer, all stage 4, and she is bedridden, and very very sick.(She is only 57) She battled and won against bone cancer in both her legs about 7 years ago, and regained the ability to walk. Now she has skin, lymphatic and blood cancer, and is back to being in a wheelchair. We can't afford to pay her to get a whee;chair ramp, and her insurance says she should move to a nursing home, but she dont want to, because she likes being at home.
Please if you can help out, it would be the kindest thing someone could do for our family.

(and she is only 57) We lost our baby son to SIDS in 2009, and things have just kept up being really difficult for us, everytime we almost catch up on bills, somebody dies or gets sick, or the car breaks, and then we end up borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. We have a really old house (pre-civil war) which is hard to keep heated in the winter, and hard to keep cool in the summer, and cant afford to fix the furnace, the water tanks, or the windows. Our car is a '99 van thats falling apart worse every day, and alls we do is drive to doctors and the grocery store. I am at the end of the rope here with being able to sell off any collectibles or music, or electronics that we have, I've been recycling bottles from family members, and saving up all the change we find, but it just isn't enough. My kids, I can't even afford them new summer clothes, and they're both growing like weeds. I have been lucky that I always prepare for the worst, and so I have a bunch of canned food, and we have a few chickens that give us eggs, but we are on our way to sinking beyond the point of saving. Please, we are good God-fearing people, we aren't out to buy ourselves some tv or motorcycle, we have no credit card debt, cuz we think its bad to do that, we just have nothing left to give. I would like to be able to fix our furnace, and insulate our hotwater tank, and maybe be able to fix our car better than we've been doing with metal tape and putty. I would like to be able to get a bag of fresh vegetables and fruit for the kids to stay healthy, and I would like to be able to pay our bills this month.
A plea....

I had an accident that resulted in a broken ankle and torn ligament. This happenend last March while I was out in the woods.. fell very awkwardly on a slope and fell on my left foot.
I have been on a plaster and crutches for 4 weeks. Now just crutches.. They are awful to handle.. I am pretty much bedridden apart from dinner time... Luckily for me my boyfriend is taking care of me but still not easy to live like this.
I have now run out of paid sick days and I am now on SSP which I cant afford! I have asked for loan and overdrafts and they were declined as I already owe money to the bank...
I even considered to ask my family and/or friends for money but the situation is pretty bad with everyone.
My boyfriend is even in a worst situation than me so cant ask him for help.. although he is giving me all the support he can, money is becoming a problem. I havent been able to complete my housing benefit form as I need to get to the office to show my passport, etc and I cant get there... Even if I get it it wouldnt be much help...
I know it's a long shot but I was wondering if you could help at all or getting anyone else to contribute.. Even a fiver here and there can go a long way... or just even a pound!
My physio said I could go back to normal by mid June... with some luck... That would mean I could get evicted from my flat!
It is not possible for me to get back to work in these conditions, my company is ok about it whcih is good but their premises are not really disable friendly. Also I live in a top floor and have to get downstairs whcih means hopping on one leg. Thta is terribly dangerous.. I have had little accidents doing so..
Any help is very welcome...
Thanks a lot

I am an only child, I am not married and I have no children. My dad died 15 years ago. My mom was ill for the past several years with Alzheimer's. I refused to put her back into a nursing home. She was there for 3 months and almost died. I became a full time caregiver to my dear mom at home. For the last year and a half my mom was bedridden. My mom died last month of MRSA. Now my life is a nightmare.
My mom had no life insurance policy. Until I can find a job I have no money to pay her funeral and other bills. Ten days after my mom died I was sued by a collection agency. I am so depressed that I've been thinking of ending it all to be with my parents.
I would greatly appreciate any help in paying all these bills while I try to get on my feet.
Thank you.

Greetings.
I am a 48 year old woman who was laid off at the end of 2009 from a job where I was already struggling to make ends meet. In the beginning I was able to make a living with temp work and by generating additional income with catering and odd jobs. Halfway through last year my mother (turning 80 this week) became terminally ill, and I had to move in with her and my father to assist with her care. She is completely bedridden, extremely weak, and has become blind to boot. Me and my sister shares the work of caring for the parent; when one is working, the other is at home.
I now have to travel long distance to the temp work I can get, and the money I am earning is barely enough to cover my transport and some toiletries. I now dont have time or resources to generate additional income, and in order to go for job interviews for permanent work I need to buy decent clothing, and have additional gas money. I have not been able to buy any new clothes for the last eight years.I need to be able to dress decently for job interviews, to make the right impression, if I am going to find permanent work that will bring enough income to help support my family.
My own children are currently living with my ex husband and his new family, and I have not seen them since Christmas, as I dont have the money for gas to go visit them.
Please help me so that I can help myself, and in turn be able to help others once I have decent work.

A Second Chance on Life!
Posted by Toby on 2010-07-26 20:58:58
Hello, my name is Toby. Thank you for taking the time to read my story of Heartache, Healing, Happiness & Heartache again
My Heartache
I was a victim in a horrific accident, which changed my life in a split second. When I regained consciousness after being in a coma for three months, I realized that the way I lived and saw life in the past, would change forever. To my horror I saw that my one leg was amputated at my knee - and that was only the beginning I was paralyzed from my waist downwards.
The doctors informed me that I was very lucky to be alive. I broke my lower back on three places, had 27 fractures throughout my whole body and had a fractured skull. The medical staff told me that I was on life support for two weeks and they feared that I would not survive my injuries, and if I did survive, that I would have brain damage (the bleeding in my skull had caused my head to swell to double its size) and that I would be paralyzed for the rest of my life - confined to a wheelchair.
My Healing
I underwent groundbreaking surgery on my back, taking bone from my hip bone to rebuild the vertebrae in my back. After wearing a body brace for 3 months, I started swimming to the best of my ability with my lower body being paralyzed. I spent 6 to 8 hours a day in the pool and miraculously, after doing this for 22 months, I slowly regained feeling and movement in my amputated leg. I was overcome with joy.
My Happiness
Finally, after being confined to a wheelchair for 3 years, with a brace on my paralyzed leg and a walking aid, I took my first step. I never regained the use of my one leg I regained a small amount of feeling, but no movement. But this handicap did not bother me I had my prosthetic leg and my walking aid I could move around, have a shower, be normal.
I was so incredibly grateful for this Second Chance on Life. I was on top of the world and I was looking forward to a wonderful future I really got a second chance on life or so I thought.
My Heartache once again
A few months later I developed an excruciating pain in my paralyzed leg and back. This pain literally paralyzed me and I had to revert back to using a wheelchair to get around. I am back to that time in my life when I was in hospital and realized the enormity of my injuries. The pain is not only preventing me from walking, but also from living a normal life. The pain consumes me, 24 hours a day. I cant function in the normal sense of word.
According to my surgeon, another back surgery will relieve me from the pain. This surgery is my only hope to ever walk again and have a normal life. This operation is very, very expensive (tens of thousands of dollars). My medical insurance is depleted and my medical expenses, ruined me financially.
The months since the pain started, when I could not work and was basically bedridden, I compiled an e-book on health, anti aging, super foods, diet and the perfect exercise program, sustained by years of medical research, conducted by professionals in their individual fields of expertise. This e-book was going to be my tool to make the money to pay for my surgery. I have made a few sales, but not nearly enough for to cover the cost of the back surgery that I so desperately need.
I now plea with you to find a place in your heart to make any donation towards my surgery. In return I will send you my e-book, no matter how big or small your donation is, any donation will be greatly appreciated.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and empathy.
Toby

I cant function in the normal sense of word.

bedridden and broke
Posted by Billie18 on 2010-06-29 12:58:58
I have been bedridden for twenty years and I get social security, but it will no longer cover the cost of living for me. If I do not receive money soon I will not have any place to live and I cannot live on the street. I'm far too sick to work because I have to be taken care of daily by caregivers. I need to be able to pay the caregivers and my rent. Please help. Thank you, Billie

hello to all good samaritans. i really really need your financial support. My father suffered from CEREBROVASCULAR DISEASE - HEMORRHAGE last Dec. 16, 2008. He underwent Craniectomy and Tracheostomy. He is presently bedridden, quadriplegic and on NGT feeding. Since then he is in & out of the hospital for check ups & for rehabilitation.
I am the only child in the family and I'm the only one taking care of his needs. His monthly maintenance costs Php50,000.00. I borrowed money from a bank and our house & lot is the collateral. It's hard for me to pay the monthly amortization because all my income goes to my father's medication. I am afraid our house will be foreclosed by the bank. I also have three kids and my husband is only a contractual government employee. I also have lots of debts which are left unpaid.
I really really need your help. I hope and pray that somebody will help me. Good samaritans can email me @

Hello to all good samaritans. I have 3 kids aged 8,6&3. They wanted to have PSP or Portable Play Station but i cant afford to buy one because my father suuffered from CEREBROVASCULAR DISEASE - HEMORRHAGE last Dec. 16, 2008. He underwent Craniectomy and Tracheostomy. He is presently bedridden, quadriplegic and on NGT feeding. Since then he is in & out of the hospital for check ups & for rehabilitation.

Even used PSP will do as long as my children's wish will come true. Just email me @

Thank you in advance.....
