To whom it may concern,

Stated Goal: $2,000.00 (by March 21st, 2012) for tuition, books and some new pants to get my academic career going... Breakdown of $1,288.33 for tuition/fees, approximately $400.00 in textbooks/supplies for the quarter, and the remainder for some pants and necessary travel expenditures for the first month of school.

I know you have many options with where your hard-earned money goes - some may make you feel GREAT about shedding a few pounds in the wallet, and others will leave you feeling downright dirty. I know this, because I was once in your shoes; money in my wallet, left only to my vices as to where to spend it. I never felt right about just handing it over to someone who, in my opinion, would merely go drink it away, drug it away, etc. It's funny how life throws these things all back into your face sometimes, and as such I find myself in need and hoping that the right person(s) will have the faith to invest in me - that's right, I said INVEST.

I don't believe in a handout, but I DO believe that sometimes we fall a bit harder than we are prepared to do and as such are put into situations that we neither expected nor are comfortable with. I opened a business that was going rather well for its first 7 months of operation. Then, through an anonymous post from someone online that "appeared" to be from my company, me and my business partner got black-balled from the industry (VERY political/bureaucratic in that particular industry). When this went under, though, it took me and everything I own with it - my vehicle, my home and much of my personal belongings. Prior to that, I spent 11 years on active duty military status in order to protect and serve this country. Yes, I've earned the G.I. Bill and fully intend to use it for its designed purpose. TheMy defining issue, however, is that the Bill pays for school on a month-to-month basis, at the END of each month of training. For example, my school begins this April 2nd so I cannot claim my benefits until the end of April, which will cause my first G.I. bill payment to get sent out in early May. The school, however, requires payment up-front and as explained above, I currently do not have the capital to get started. Once I've started, the Bill will sustain me, therefore I merely ask for assistance in getting the first quarter of classes paid, including books. I have a great academic history, and this is truly where I excel. My purpose is to some day acquire a PhD in pharmaceutics and do research to find new and improved medications for the benefit of the masses.

As for the pants, I have two pairs remaining and both have holes in the legs and crotch. While these DO technically work for all intents and purposes, it gets a bit breezy on these cold days and nights, and is probably unsightly (at best) to any of my would-be professors who may not appreciate an instructor's-eye-view of these things. As such, I figure I might like to buy a couple of pairs prior to matriculation.

Thank you, in advance, to any and all who assist me on this endeavor.
I am a 26 year old former college student, and I owe over $5000 to the college I was attending. I had a 4.0, was a member of 3 choirs & 2 honor societies, one of which I was elected events planner.

I had some unfortunate luck during my last few terms there. I found out I suffer from PTSD, my son was badly burned, I broke a rib due to pneumonia, and I began to suffer deep depression. Due to all of this I could not complete a few terms.

I looked to see if I had received my financial aid for the term and because of a glitch the computer said I had, so I paid for my books and classes. I then received a call saying I had not been awarded the money, and that I would have to pay every dime back even though it was their mistake for not telling me I was on academic probation.

This website is my last resort. I have dreams of graduating valedictorian, going on to graduate school, and of changing the world. I need a break. If anyone could help it would be a miracle. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions you can reach me at (541)791-7290 or e-mail me at: deena.anne@yahoo.com. I won't let you down. God bless <3

Dear friend,
I've spent the last 6 years paying my own way through school but now, nearing the end of my first year of graduate school, I have fallen upon tough times. The money I receive is not enough to pay my rent or bills or put food in the fridge (I get about 190$ every two weeks). The stress of not knowing how I'm going to pay my expenses while I write my thesis is taking a serious toll both emotionally and physically. I'm constantly depressed and suffering from stress headaches. I'm afraid this will affect my academic work which will in turn have serious consequences on my future. I don't need much, maybe 1000$? Just enough to get me through the next couple months after which I will hopefully have figured something out. Please help. I'm desperate :(

Kindly Help Us Our Charity.

I feel very ashamed of myself having to resort to this, but I am desperate to get back on my feet and take care of my son the way he deserves.
I had to leave my job due to a pesky pulmonary nodule causing breathing problems and causing me to pass out at work. I started working in a MLM type of company as an independent contractor, but first our car broke down, then we fixed it; but then I lost car insurance and registration due to expiration (no money to pay for it). I have had to borrow and repay money for rent three months in a row and my car is starting to go AGAIN...it is a 1999 Cadillac Deville with 134,000 miles, so I guess I can't complain. In the past 4 weeks, I went from a healthy 137lbs to 119lbs of skin and bones; I refuse to eat unless my son has healthy food to eat, but I am starting to feel tired and confused due to malnutrition. I don't need hundreds of thousands of dollars; I just want to get ahead. I am fortunate that my son, his father and I are able to move with friends next month, but I still have $1290 to pay on December 5th for rent so as not to lose security deposit. I need the money to get caught up on general bills, totaling approximately $3300 as well as groceries for December $400-500. I am also in need of my bipolar medication that I have not been able to aquire in 6 months when my financial situation started to decline due to poor health, car troubles, loss of tuiton money and general misfortune. I can pay out of pocket for school; I lost financial aid because I had to withdrawal for health and family reasons-2 semesters in a row of withdrawals or poor grades cause the financial aid dept to drop you. I am not a bad student and I was even inducted into Phi Theta Kappa in October 2008 for academic excellence. To sum it up; I just want to be on my feet again. I hate that my son sees mommy and daddy cry every night, because we don't know from one day to the next...will the electric get shut off next? How will we get food? Thankfully our rent will be severely reduced starting January 1st, but I just want..NEED to get ahead for once. I have sold everything I own...including my $2500 engagement ring, which I sold for a whole $145 for groceries. I do have three designer bags I haven't sold yet; I was planning to sell for Christmas money for my son, but anyone who donates and is interested, can have them. I will be eternally grateful for anyone to be kind enough to donate! If I could just receive a total of at least $5000 for bills, rent and groceries, I will be the happiest woman alive. I am not too concerned with my medication, because it is $140 per month that CAN wait, if need be. My son's well-being and future means more to me than anything. I am sorry if this is a jumbled mess; I am extremely worn out and I cannot seem to muster the thoughts to put with the emotions I am feeling right now. Thank you for any generosity and I hope that without the premium Beglist account, my story is able to find anyone willing to help a family in need.

Young and dumb

Posted by Bucklady on 2011-11-23 02:58:11

So here goes nothing. I'm currently a 22 year old woman who has dug herself a hole. I am a poster child for bad spending habits and self absorbed youth. I currently have racked up 40000$ in debt from student loans credit cards a car loan and one very expensive traffic fine. I used to work in construction and was able to afford all my bills but when I was 20 I decided to go to school so I quit my
Great paying Job and ventured into the academic
World. I did my
First year and HATED it. Afterwards there were no jobs available so I went back to hospitality. I work as a restaurant manager full time but barely make enough to pay my regular bills let alone my debt. I live paycheck to paycheck and constantly worry about money. It depresses me so bad to think at 22 I might have to file for bankruptcy. And on top of all that I got caught driving with no insurance (I lived in a small town and only drove to the store). It was a stupid choice but my insurance was so high that I mostly walked to where I needed to get except when it was too cold or late at night. Either way the judge slapped me with a 5700$ ticket for my
Stupidity. The ticket had a year for repayment. I was given the option to work it off but due to my regular Job I was unable to without losing my income. I scrolled and scraped for the year. Eating basically tuna and pb&j sandwiches and having no social life. I managed to pay only about 1400$. Sad I know but remember I barely make enough to pay my bills. After having the payment date delayed by another 3 months I knew it was hopeless. My
Credit is shot my debt ratio is too high and I have no one
To turn to for a loan. As of November 1st there Is a bench warrant for my arrest. I am quite terrified because this Is a stay or pay warrant so if I'm ever picked up I either need to pay the remaining 4300 or sit in jail for 3 months. I'm a young woman with no criminal record I never even got a suspension in high school. If this were to happen I would also lose my Job and ultimately my home and all my bills would fall 3 months behind. The fear of this keeps me
Awake at night because it's terrifying. This one mistake could cost me so much in the end. I have looked at every option as to getting a loan but to no avail. So now I turn to begging for help. Please help me pay this ticket off so I can try and get on with my life without the fear of going to jail for sometbing so silly. If ever I needed a miracle it is now. If anyone has it in tneir hearts to help me I would appreciate
It so much. I don't want to feel like a criminal any longer

Venice

Posted by PlayerKik933 on 2011-11-17 12:58:22

Hi all!
I'm a student in a college where there is a trip organised to Venice. On this trip we will do a project about the history of Venice and how the agriculture has changed in there in the last few years. This project will count to my overall grade at the end of the academic year but the thing is that I can't afford it. My parents earn the minimum wages and the cost of 496 pounds is just too much for us. And if I don't go on that trip I might fail the course. So if anyone could help with this matter I would really appreciate this.

Need Textbooks for School

Posted by maverick777 on 2011-10-16 18:58:57

I am an 18 (soon to be 19) year old student at a state university in the Midwest. I am currently enrolled at this school through scholarships and a few grants, as my academic performance was sufficient enough to take advantage of these. However, I'm still about $450 short and have only been able to afford two textbooks this year. I still need about three more. I am majoring in Chemical Engineering and we are approaching midterm for this first semester, therefore I need those textbooks more now than before. ANYTHING HELPS. Thank you for looking, and donations are very, very much appreciated.

Please Help Me Relocate My Talented & Gifted Kids to a Safer Place

Posted by Momskids8577 on 2011-10-11 13:58:25

I am a single mother of two talented and gifted children and a student of
the ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) Program at my local community college. On
Febuary 16th, 2011, my childrens father wipped out our entire savings and
checking account and the contents of our home, then disappeared. There was
absolutely no warning of this. My children and I simply returned home from
school to an almost completely empty house.

My immediate thought was that we were victoms of a burglary. However,
shortly after the police arrived, neighbors reported something even more
disturbing. My childrens father , along with three other men in a huge
company moving truck, spent most of the early morning and mid-afternoon
moving things out of our home. Neighbors said they thought we were just
moving. They suspected no problems. Even though he had taken every household
appliance, all electronics and my childrens cellos, keyboards and computers,
there was nothing the police could do. He was indeed a resident and on the
lease.

I tried contacting him on his cell only to find it disconnected. When I
called his office, I was informed that he had been seperated from the firm
for over a month.

This was awfull and my children and I were in need of answers. To cheer us all up, I decided that we should go out to dinner and
fun. That's when I found out about the accounts.

Although there was no furniture, well, only the childrens bedroom furnitue,
we remained in our home for as long as we could. I started working part time
at a call center at night while continuing my classes in the day.

We soon had to move of course. We were evicted for non payment of rent. I
found a one bedroom appartment that I could afford. This meant moving the
children into another school district.

At the time my daughter was in seventh grade, taking highschool algebra 1,
and highschool english1. Her other classes were all AP 8th grade courses.
She was also in orchestra with her cello. The new district does not allow
7th graders to take highschool class, so she was not able to continue on her
path. Not only did we have to face the challenge of academics, we also had a
severe problem with bullies. Because I had to be at school myself, the
children had to ride the school bus daily. In a horrible neighborhood, they
were beaten often and picked on daily because of how they talked and
dresssed. Telling the school principles and the police only made matters
worse for us and our apartment. The parents live in our aparments and they
are not happy with me calling the authorities on them. I have had widows
borken out in my car, tires cut and the front door of my appartment painted
with ugly words.

I sat out of school this semester in order to escort my children safely to
and from school each day.For now, I work at a call center
m-th 8am-3pm and sat 7am-4pm.

I am trying to move my children to a neighborhood they can be safe in and a
school that is able to meet them at their academic level and they can also
be safe in. If this could happen then I could return to my nursing studies
and the children could return to a safe environment and school.

I pay 400 per month for our one bedroom we are in now. I found some
apartments in a a safer neighborhood with schools that offer orchestra and
college prep courses. ( I have not been able to pay for any private lessons
scince their father left. And their new schools do not offer orchestra. )
The one bedrooms in this particular area are 750/monthly .

I am begging for help to raise enough money to move my children into a
better neighborhood before January so that I may continue in my studies and
they can safely do the same.
I have a 7 year old boy and 13 year old daughter.
I have completed all of my support courses for my nursing. I completed my
first year last year and this summer. So, there is only one more year
nursing school that I have before I graduate. I am pleading with anyone and
everyone to please help me. Any amount will help me reach my goal.
I am asking for help to maintain a 750 per month one bedroom apartment for
12 months. January2012 to January 2013.

Any amount that you can donate will be very helpful.
Thank you for taking the time out to read about my children and I.
Thank you

Since my previous posts have yielded only four donations over the last five months I thought I would try this approach. My financial problems are quite real. If you find my fable entertaining please send a small donation.

The Grasshopper and the Ant
A Classic retold by Joseph the Beggar King
Part One

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there were two friends, the Grasshopper and the Ant. Why these two became friends is a bit of a mystery. The Grasshopper was a dreamer and a drifter. The Ant was a believer and an achiever.

In school the Grasshopper would look out the window without thought and only learned the subjects he found interesting. Sometimes he would fall asleep in Math class, other times when a angry teacher would jump him with a pop question he would give the correct answer in way that would confound them.

The Ant was a teachers dream, he soaked up every subject the system taught him, gave the correct answers in the correct way and got straight A s. He would delight his Math teacher by doing compound interest in his head. The Ant believed that what they taught him would help him succeed and was very completive. After graduating High School the Ant got an Academic Scholarship and the Grasshopper got a Pell Grant.

Within four years the Ant got two BS degrees in Business Management and Engineering. The Grasshopper dropped out after the first year. He went to live with the Rainbow Tribe for a few years. On the way to the bus station he found an old fiddle in a trash pile along the road and when he got station he was able to panhandle his bus fare. That was the Grasshoppers first beg.

The Ant took the College like a fish to water. During open Rush some Greeks invite him to be a brother in their Fraternity. He earned his dues by being the Frat Houses Accountant and made beer money by writing term papers. One day while visiting the Tri Deltas he watches the girls play volleyball and is amazed that even though they are playing a vigorous game not one of them breaks a sweat. It is there he meets the girl of his dreams, Polly Fishbane.

While the Grasshopper was living with the Rainbow Tribe he never meets the girl of his dreams, but it does not really matter too much because they believe in Free Love. So free, in fact, that after what you might call the Honeymoon he found himself getting a little bored with it. From the Rainbow Tribe he learns to live off the fat of country and from his new friend, Buffalo with Runs, he learns to live off the land. Buffalo with Runs was an very old Indian that was adopted by the tribe. He taught the Grasshopper what wild plants were safe to eat or use for medicines. He showed him how to set traps and hunt small game. Then, during one winter Gathering four people froze to dead because they were too stoned to come in out of the cold. The Grasshopper became very sad and hopped away.

The Ant is recruited by a Aerospace firm even before he graduated college and goes to work on the Apollo Program. He and his new wife Polly loved the Florida sunshine and settle down to start the American Dream. They decide to have two and half children. Even though the third kid looked a bit odd the Ant loved him as only a father can. With easy money down and mortgage tax deductions compliments of Uncle Sam, they get a house with a two car garage. Next they get two cars and the Rat Race is on. The Ant loves it! Working on the Apollo Program is more than a job, it is being part of history. Polly loves it! Raising their kids and Keeping up of with the Jones. She starts selling Avon products on the side. The Ant buys the best bass boat in the neighborhood, but only uses it once a year because he too busy working. He sets up his retirement funds and a small stock portfolio. Life is Good!

After leaving the Rainbow Tribe the Grasshopper panhandles his way across the country. He sets up in parks and subways where he pretends to play his fiddle while selling jewelry made of deer anthers and beads. The noise he makes with his fiddle sounds like a cat being killed and people give him money just to make him stop. Before the Cops run him off, the Grasshopper usually made enough in one day of begging to cover his needs for the week. When he is hungry he goes to a Soup Kitchen and when he needs clothing there are the Sharing Centers. Every now and then he lets some good hearted woman try to save him. Life is Good and he hops away.

The Apollo Program ends and the new Shuttle program does not start for a couple of years. The Aerospace company were the Ant works at does not win any of the new bids. They offer him a job in California at 20% less of his salary. Polly and the kids are in a rage. Nobody wants to move and leave their friends. The Ant sells his house at a loss because the real estate market in flooded by the laid offs. The one car and the boat are reprocessed. He sells off his stock portfolio for the down payment on the new house in California and even though money is tight the Ant decides to take the family on a short vacation to Key West to uplift their spirits. He finds the Grasshopper selling deer antler jewelry at the Front Street Market. While Polly and the kids go shopping, he and Grasshopper catch up and have a couple of beers. The Ant tells his friend about the laid offs and the move. The Grasshopper asks him - Are you Happy - ? The Ant says - Yes -. His friend says, - Good - . They watch the sunset and see a green flash on the horizon.
To be continue.

I am an 18 year old homeless college student in need of your help, my current situation is living on the street with no money, family, and currently own 2 t-shirts, 3 pairs of pants, 8 pairs of socks. I have been accepted to UC Berkeley due to my outstanding academic performance with dreams of having a PhD in Microbiology.

I do not qualify for any financial aide due to me being homeless and I have no knowledge about my family.

To Attend UC Berkeley, I must have 15,000 US Dollars for classes, book, fees, room, food, and clothes. All donation can be accepted through PayPal.

I might have all the 15,000 dollars but something is better than having nothing.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and donating for my cause.

Paying it Foward Part II

I have another beg in the "General Begs for Help" section which fleshes out the details of my dire situation. That being said, I'm desperately in need of a kickstart to my career.

I'm a 28 year old double bachelor's graduate struggling to find work due to "lack of experience." Both degrees (Finance w/minor in Economics, and Accounting) are finished with honors. I've been in Advanced Placement courses throughout High School and show strong academic prowess. I've had internships at reputable institutions such as Merrill Lynch. I learn quickly and I'm talented with Microsoft Excel.

I'm looking for any type of Accounting or Finance work with the exception of Sales. Give me a shot and you won't be disappointed. I'm talented, hard working, and hungry!

Field Trips and Incentives to keep students motivated

Posted by averi97 on 2011-06-11 20:58:29

Hello, my name is Michelle Madruga and I am a teacher at a middle school at an inner city school. Most of the students at the school are low performing, come from poverty, and crime infested areas. I am asking for donations to earn money for different items. I would like to take my AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) students on college field trips that will show them a different life and see that their dreams can truly become a reality. I would also like to earn money for AVID T-shirts so that when we do team building activities and visit colleges, my students can feel like a united academic team (much like many of the other schools we see. Finally, I would like to allow my students to earn incentives for their hard work. I am a teacher with a limited salary and children of my own to support, but I also want to give these kids a positive educational experience that will give them the motivation to keep striving for more. When we invest in the lives of kids, we (the people of these societies and world) only benefit. Thank you so much for your time and efforts towards this cause. Your donations are much appreciated.

Need a Career Change

My career as a property developer is unsuccessful because I cannot consistently stay employed,
and it is only worse with this recession. Also, my career demands that I spend much time of my life being lonely and isolated in rural areas. I really need to be around more people in my life. Now I want to start a new career writing travel articles. Also, I am willing to volunteer for social charities overseas and to teach English as a second language. I am traveling overseas because I think that there is more opportunities for careers that are related to my academic degree in anthropology and religious studies, and I also don't feel the social stigmatism of being a financially poor and single man in his forties that I do in the USA. Also, I owe the US government around $30,000 for student loans. I need a job or at least a financial safety net so that I don't go broke overseas. I can live on as little as $1000 a month.
So please help with whatever you can while I am making this career change. I can keep you informed about my whereabouts and activities.
I have aspergers, a mild form of autism that causes me to be socially challenged when trying to relate to people and open doors for career opportunities.
I have no wife and family with children, and am now in my early forties.
Perhaps I can start a new life if I can manage a successful career change.

Money for University

Posted by Morgan27 on 2011-03-23 01:58:39

I am a smart, motivated high school graduate (17 years old), who was recently accepted to Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, there is no way I can afford to go there, let alone my graduate school of choice, the University of Pennsylvania. I have 5 younger siblings who aren't old enough to work - three of them will still be in grade school after I would graduate - and my parents have made it very clear that they will not be able to help me finance my education. I have no grandparents or other family members who can help, so now, I have a choice. I can attend much cheaper schools, like community colleges or small state universities, which won't reflect my true academic capabilities and drive, or I can continue to reach for my dreams, no matter how desperate things may feel right now. I hope to study philosophy, politics, international affairs, and arts administration. I will either earn my master's degree or attend law school, and after that I would very much like to earn additional degrees. I want a career, not just a job, and I feel that letting a lack of money stop me from chasing victory would be a huge mistake. If anyone wants to help me out, I would be incredibly grateful! Every little bit counts (though of course large donations are always welcome :)). Thanks for reading this.
My name is Ephraim Ntlamo (18) I’m a Zimbabwean national living in Cape- Town. I came to South Africa on my own in 2008 as a political refugee; I didn’t know anybody here. This situation lead me to living on the streets of Cape Town for months, I was very discouraged by my situation of living under the bridge, but never lost the hope that one day I will be in school again.
In fact being far away from home, missing the family together with being homeless at the same time can be very stressful that the temptation of using substances to stay calm can be very high, however because I had a dream to be a educated man one day, I resisted all this and kept on believing in myself that one day I shall overcome all of these obstacles and enroll into school again. The best platform to reconstruct my life towards achieving my childhood dream of becoming an electrical engineer, these experiences have however made me have interest in human rights law, so I will be studying that after high school.

Thanks to well wisher sponsors today I have a place to call home and I’m attending school. Those are big steps towards achieving my goals in life. I recently applied to attend grade 11at Premiere collage and got accepted; Premiere collage is rated among the best private collages schools in Western Cape. The academic pass rate isn’t bad.

The fee’s are [R 15,000] plus the once off registration fee of R1500 I do not have the money however I’m looking for small sponsorships towards my fees

There are various reasons why I want to be student at this school. Firstly, like I mentioned before it’s a great school to get the best education that prepares someone for the world outside there.

In 2009 formed a soccer team of unaccompanied refugee children from all over Africa living here in Cape Town; the purpose of the formation of this team is for educational purposes. The idea is for us refugee children not to isolate ourselves from South Africans; instead we want to be part of the solution to issues like xenophobia, racism, and any sort of discrimination. See www.refugee6foundation.org. Most importantly this refugee team serves to persuade other refugee children to consider education as the only alternative way to success. We also discuss about issues like HIV/AIDS. At this stage the idea had worked very well: Few boys have abandoned their labour jobs in vine yards farms and they are looking forward to starting attending school this year as well.

For me attending Premier Collage I believe will encourage them to believe that nothing is impossible in life and this step will also enable me to persuade as many other refugee children as I can to quit their labour jobs and go back to school. This will help them to be confident and have the realization that everything is possible in life.

Lastly I’m in the middle of writing my book to be about my life experiences, I therefore think that attending this school because of its great diverse culture will help me write a successful book that might change lives of many youth on the way they view the world. Thank you for considering helping me put together the R 15000 together!

Wanted: Airfare and tuition fees for course in China

Posted by liebkuchen on 2010-12-15 13:58:58

30 year old female artist from Scotland is seeking help to fund one academic year at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China, from September 2011. I dream of studying the Chinese language and painting the urban landscape.

I am not eligible for the usual Chinese government or Confucius Institute Scholarships that most people use as I am too old/too long out of education.

I am trying to raise US$2000 for the tuition fees and $1300 for the return airfare. $3300 in total.

I do have a paintings of Europe for sale at: www.etsy.com/shop/scully where all profits go towards my educational goal. This also shows my work. Alternatively, if you can offer $200 or more, during my time in China, I will paint and send you an original 5x7" watercolour as a thank you. I can offer larger/more paintings for larger donations. Please ask.
