I am the custodial parent of 3 children, a daughter that's 17, and 2 boys, 14 and 9. I have been divorced for 3yrs. now, tending to the everyday needs, for my children and their school activities. My ex-wife had turned diabetic, from giving birth to the children and had fallen into a severe case of post-pardon depression, due to the diabetic condition that had worsened as the children were born, which turned her to alcohol. As most of us know, alcohol and diabetes do not mix, at first I was unaware, of how severe this can be, but as time progressed, we could see the roller-coaster personality shine through. After hearing from others about the way some things were being handled by her, such as pinning them down on the ground, to brush their teeth, or ripping a brush through my daughters hair in the morning before school, I needed to do something about it. This was hard to see at first, since I was at work everyday on a 45-50hr. work week. One particular event, that has been a soar spot with my daughter, was a few days before Christmas, when she was helping decorate the tree and had started to put the tinsel on before the ornaments. Her mom, was into about her 2nd drink, which had brought her sugar-level up, started screaming at her about putting the ornaments on first, and just about ripped her arms off, tearing the tinsel out of her hands!!! Last year, was the first year, after spending many hours with her, that she was brave enough to help decorate the tree.

My oldest son, now 14, has had some very bad experiences, that had put so much stress on him that he started pulling his hair out, until he was completely bald on top of his head !!! The stress was caused by being constantly screamed at for things, that he was even doing. The last thing that really broke the camels back was, when he was trying to restrain his mother during a delirious diabetic overload of sugar, which had skyrocketed, to over 600. She began kicking him, until she kicked him right down the steps and he had to come back up and body slam her down on the floor, we all saw the UGLIER side of diabetes that night !!!!! The E.R. was called in and they strapped her down on a stretcher, deemed her delusional, then rushed her off to the hospital. Their mother decided after that happened, that it would be a good idea to leave the family and doesn't have much contact with her children. I've spent a lot of time with them, working through some of the traumatic episodes, that they encountered and have lost a lot of time for employment. Now that I have been unemployed for quite sometime and being a man in this position, getting assistance or help is almost impossible. I get the feeling that men with children are discriminated, there are no programs in place by the government for men with children. I am now up against all odds, the roof on our house needs to be shingled, every time it rains we see piles of gravel on the ground and my vehicle is on it's last leg. The utilities are always in shut off status and I'm now falling into foreclosure, due to being behind on the house payments for heavens sake, let alone the kids being sick from time to time, because of the old and deteriorating carpet in our house, so I'm being told by the doctors.

A fire was caused by a kerosene heater, and I lost everything I had. All personal things like clothes, shoes and food are given here at places I can go to. Good thing is with the 15% burn on my arm, I am receiving Section-8 housing. just need a little to help stock up non-food daily items. There is also the medical bills. The VA paid the majority, because the one here could not accomodate for 2nd and 3d degree burns. Anyway...this is a shot in the dark for me. All will be appreciated, ever so much.

I wouldn’t normally do this but I so want to go see me son compete in the 2012 London Olympics in the sport of Judo. My son will be given tickets to his event for us watch him compete. He never lost that goal. He is now going for the 2nd time around. . Back in 2004 due to layoff and my job being outsourced I ended taking a earlier retirement. My son headed off to college with a partial scholarship in judo. I helped support him in rent, phones, car, insurance, as well as airfare to travel to many international tournaments to help him qualify for a spot on the 2008 Olympic team. I even went back to work using almost all of my funds including my saving and 401k’etc just to get him to the level that he needed to be at and because of that I was unable to go to China in 2008 when he went to his 1st Olympic games because I spent it all getting him there. Then in 2009 I got laid off because the job was being outsource but when I tired finding work I was unable to and the state finally tested me and told me because of my disability that I could no longer work and then put me on SSDI. So if your willing to help that would be a blessing but if you not I understand.

We seriously need some help, our electricity will be turned off May 2nd, our rent is due May first and the late fees are $25 per day after the first with no max. Our house is total electric so no heat, air, refrigeration, hot water, or ability to cook once the electric is off. Our credit isn't good enough for anything and the only option is payday loans. We keep having garage sales, however it only provides enough money to get staples (bread, milk, butter, a little gas to get back and forth to work). Like many others I have a job, but it keeps us just over broke. Not enough to deal with a crisis. In one week we learned my mother and father were trying to live off $35 a week. My mother eats a bowl of cereal in the morning and a $1 banquet meal for dinner. She takes care of my ailing father 24/7 who has Alzheimer's. So we decided to make a 10 hour ride one way to go see what we could do to help. We gave them what little extra money we had to fill a deep freezer and pay off a loan with crushing interest! While away we learned that my wife's stepmother is dying from cancer. She has stage 4 lung cancer and isn't expected to make it past the end of the year. We need extra funds for my wife to be able to make the 1800 mile trek to her hometown in NY so she can have the opportunity to say her last goodbyes. To top it all off we purchased a car last year through a company known as JD Byrider, a buy here pay here bad credit dealer with an extra perk, for all the extra money you spend on their vehicles they offer a warranty during the term of the loan. Our JDB car blew a head gasket, this should be covered under terms of the warranty. We had the car towed to the dealer for them to make the necessary repairs. The shop said there was nothing wrong with the car, it just needed an oil change, and it was running fine. I promise you a car that won't do over 60 mph floored on a straight stretch of highway ISN'T fine. So we were forced to trade it in, which cost us an extra $5000, making us negative in our bank. Along with all of this is the need to take care of our three children at home, and constantly having to buy diapers for our grand daughter because her parents can't find work and welfare doesn't give enough cash assistance to keep diapers all month long. We are selling everything we can afford to in order to get out of our current situation, but it won't be enough. Right now we need $725 to make rent and $206 for the electric bill. I can spread other bills out over the course of the month, but these two are critical. We have enough food and just enough money to cover gas for the next two weeks. I am willing to provide services for any donation made. I have very good editing skills, and have helped students go from a D paper to a B+/A- paper without changing the content, merely correcting spelling, punctuation and structure. Any help provided will be greatly appreciated.

Please help me! I am doing everything I can to find a 2nd job, but no matter what I do, in this economy it is almost impossible! To pay rent, I took out a title loan on my 1995 ford explorer in March of 2011! My monthly payments are $230. I took out a $850 loan! The interest is 300%, and I have had to reborrow here and there to keep up on bills.

Anyway, the balance is just over $1000 dollars. The payment of $230 is due now and I just don't have the money. If I don't pay it within the next couple days it will be repossessed. On March 27, 2011 (my mom's 73rd Birthday) she suffered from a hemorrhagic stroke (ruptured aneurysm) She had her 1st & 2nd brain surgey within the next few days and she spent 5 weeks in ICU then 6 weeks in Rehab. She made a great recovery.

In Sept 2011 she had another brain surgery to repair a second aneurysm which she also recovered well from. In December of 2011 she suffered another minor stroke.

this time she is not recovering very well. she is having a lot of difficulty walking and climbing the stairs. She is physically capable of taking the stairs, however she is absolutely terrified that she may fall and will not use the stairs.

I'm unable to get her out of the house to go to doctor appointments and to physical therapy. We can't even go out to eat (mom's favorite thing to do) Since she cannot safely climb the stairs anymore we need to build a wheelchair ramp or get a wheelchair stair-trac lift.

With me missing so much work do to moms situation and my own health conditions I've lost my job. Unemployment barely pays my bills and moms social security covers her bills we cannot afford to buy the lumber required to build a ramp.... I have volunteers to build a ramp but no building supplies :( If anyone could help us even with $5.00 it adds up.

My name is Stephanie. Following the death of both my parents in a car accident 5 years ago August my health has been in a steady decline. I suffer from neurological issues that will soon have me in a wheelchair, and advanced COPD that means I have to have Oxygen continuously. Yesterday I had to go the doctors in 85 degree heat without any air conditioning in my van. By the time I got to the medical center and tried to find this new doctors location I ended up collapsing twice between the walking and breathing. I weigh 83 pounds at 5'5" and I can't carry the oxygen with me when I have to exit the vehicle. Ultimately I ended up in the emergency room.

I live with my daughter and grandson of 6 years. My grandson was in the car when my parents were killed and suffered a major brain injury at 13 months. I'm happy to report though that after months of hospitalization he is right as rain and is mad at me currently ;o) because I'm on my computer which he adores playing with. My daughter suffers from PTSD since the accident my parents were killed in. She cannot drive without someone in the car and she was going to go with me yesterday but the heat was so bad that we were concerned about Gavin in the back in my black 1994 Ford Astro van. It was just way too hot for him and with her PTSD we HAVE to go through town to get anywhere or she will lose it so there would not have been any steady air flow.

It's been a long 5 years. My parents and I jointly owned a duplex. Their deaths were the beginning of the most miserable time of my life. When I divorced it was jointly decided that it would better if I lived in the upstairs apartment so they could be there for the kids while I worked. Over 16 years we became so close that their deaths nearly destroyed me. I paid for the last 15 years on the note of the house, my buy in and we all lived there incredibly content and happy. After their deaths during the mortgage meltdown, credit locks, and the economic fallout my career of 16 years was one of the first to go. I worked in the non-profit sector designing programming for inner-city communities with a specific focus on youth. So 8 months after their deaths the funding streams I used for the programming dried up and a job I loved disappeared.

Life insurance was enough to cover their debt with a little left over because they didn't carry much but in the end I lost my home of 16 years to the insurance company that covered my daughters son through work when they filed a $ 90,000.00 lien against my home. So 7 months after losing my job I also lost a home I loved. So I experienced 3 deaths within the span of a little over a year.

Because I was unemployed so long and had to use my cards to keep the lights on so to speak my credit is not good. So I can't borrow the funds or even charge a repair for the car.

I can no longer go to doctors visits alone. I'm too weak to walk very far without help and I can't carry the oxygen canister on my own. So I need my daughter for these visits.

Like anyone with severe health issues I'm buried in bills but what I really need help on is funds that will me to fix the air conditioning in my van which despite it's age runs like a champ. I have a physicians assistant who comes into my home to work with my but getting to the specialists has become real concern.

My daughter even with her PTSD has reached a point where she doesn't want me going alone. I was supposed to call her when I reached the doctors the other day when I collapsed the 2nd time and they took me to the specialists office I asked the receptionist to call my daughter. She didn't and she left my daughter terrified that something horrible had happened to me. I don't carry a cell I can't afford one. My daughter was getting better about both driving and me driving myself; because of this receptionist my daughter has now had a huge set back. I have to see that doctor again next week and I can't take them without air conditioning so what I'm going to have to do is make sure I find someone that sit with my daughter while I'm gone to help keep her anxiety level low. I don't have any choice I have to get there. I won't have anyone to carry my oxygen but I'm hoping I can in there.

Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated. I am more than happy to pay it forward as soon as I can. I have been a lifelong contributor to various causes and I know people are in dire straights right now. We all need help in one form or another. I would never ask if I could do this myself. Please forgive me.

Hello, I am 28 and pregnant with my 2nd child. My husband and I have a 3 yr old. I work full time making 7.62 an hour my husband is disabled he is 30 yrs old fighting for his disability. He hasnt been able to work fr over a year and his diability is in appeal We were getting help from my mother in law she did end up not doing so instead she made uithings horrible she wrote hot checks for our rent and all three of our names are on the lease now we have a very limited time with a house to live in or any k ind shelter. for us. We had no idea this was happening until it was too late we had to go to court and to say the least my mother in law didn't show up or even try to take care of the checks she wrote so here we are me pregnant my husband disabled can hardly walk and a 3yr old about to be homeless. We found a mobile home for sell for cheap but we both have bad credit and can't get a loan for it. This place would be perfect if we could just buy it. We desperately need help. This is really difficult to beg for help but I feel so lost and not sure what else to do please help if you can thank you and God bless

Stated Goal: $2,000.00 (by March 21st, 2012) for tuition, books and some new pants to get my academic career going... Breakdown of $1,288.33 for tuition/fees, approximately $400.00 in textbooks/supplies for the quarter, and the remainder for some pants and necessary travel expenditures for the first month of school.

I know you have many options with where your hard-earned money goes - some may make you feel GREAT about shedding a few pounds in the wallet, and others will leave you feeling downright dirty. I know this, because I was once in your shoes; money in my wallet, left only to my vices as to where to spend it. I never felt right about just handing it over to someone who, in my opinion, would merely go drink it away, drug it away, etc. It's funny how life throws these things all back into your face sometimes, and as such I find myself in need and hoping that the right person(s) will have the faith to invest in me - that's right, I said INVEST.

I don't believe in a handout, but I DO believe that sometimes we fall a bit harder than we are prepared to do and as such are put into situations that we neither expected nor are comfortable with. I opened a business that was going rather well for its first 7 months of operation. Then, through an anonymous post from someone online that "appeared" to be from my company, me and my business partner got black-balled from the industry (VERY political/bureaucratic in that particular industry). When this went under, though, it took me and everything I own with it - my vehicle, my home and much of my personal belongings. Prior to that, I spent 11 years on active duty military status in order to protect and serve this country. Yes, I've earned the G.I. Bill and fully intend to use it for its designed purpose. TheMy defining issue, however, is that the Bill pays for school on a month-to-month basis, at the END of each month of training. For example, my school begins this April 2nd so I cannot claim my benefits until the end of April, which will cause my first G.I. bill payment to get sent out in early May. The school, however, requires payment up-front and as explained above, I currently do not have the capital to get started. Once I've started, the Bill will sustain me, therefore I merely ask for assistance in getting the first quarter of classes paid, including books. I have a great academic history, and this is truly where I excel. My purpose is to some day acquire a PhD in pharmaceutics and do research to find new and improved medications for the benefit of the masses.

As for the pants, I have two pairs remaining and both have holes in the legs and crotch. While these DO technically work for all intents and purposes, it gets a bit breezy on these cold days and nights, and is probably unsightly (at best) to any of my would-be professors who may not appreciate an instructor's-eye-view of these things. As such, I figure I might like to buy a couple of pairs prior to matriculation.

Hello. I am a 2nd year student, although this is now my third year at university. The reason for this is that I live with my mum, and she was going through some major finance troubles. I stopped studying for a while and started working full time to help with bills. Things are still hard, but at least we are not at risk of losing the house anymore! I am returning to University, and had planned my finances as I am working part time to pay for my studies. However, with so many bills, a hole, yes a hole, in the floor of my kitchen (the fault of my sister who overloaded the fridge plug, and caused the freezer to melt), medical bills, a broken car (again), and the ever growing cost of living, I have only saved $600 of the required $2700 needed for my fees to be paid by the end of the month. On top of this, the hole is required to be fixed immediately ,as the longer it’s not fixed, the more the rotting will spread further, therefore needing a bigger job to fix it. This has a quote of $4000 - mind you that is just one quote; I have heard it's a couple of thousand depending on how big the area is (from 3-4 thousand), but he said because it has effected such a large area, that they need to cut out beyond the floor boards to ensure the rot is gone. I have never done this before, so I am a little ashamed to say the least that it has come to asking complete strangers for help. I have really tried to save for as long as possible, but things keep coming up that have cause me to only save a portion of what is needed. However they need to be paid so quickly that I am asking for help to get the $6100 so I can pay them before deadlines/further damage. If anybody has any means of helping I would be so very appreciative; I really am almost in tears at this moment to even think that somebody could be so kind and generous to even consider helping me, like winning the lottery. I recently became disabled, I am a mother of 6 children ages range from 5-13yrs. I have a husband who tries his best to keep us afloat. Disability does not kick in for another week. Our rent is past due, and our bills are doubled. Power is to be disconnected today on Feb.27th! We are so out of luck right now, we don't know what to do. We are facing eviction pretty soon. I thought income tax would be great as I was a health care worker, but that is only $500 due to having so many children they weren't taking off any taxes! We are basically living on our Child tax right now, as my husband needs to take care of us and is only getting part-time hours at work. We applied for loans and were denied because we have no full-time income right now. We have no savings, or any kind of bonds to fall back on. We are very desperately seeking some financial assistance, even if someone wants to pay a bill directly...We are not looking for cash...We have helped so many people, and it feels like there is nothing we can do or say to get help. We have liquidated our assets and only have our basic needs met right now...which is food and shelter for the time being. I have had to defer payments on our vehicle loan, and we are running out of time for that as well. As a working family we were making all of our payments to rent, utilities, loans on time...Now we are far behind and it feels like there is no getting ahead. I will be recieving disability insurance but that is only 66% of my income and that will be on March 2nd and we will be 2 months behind on rent at that time, and we will not have power if we are not evicted by then. I never ask anyone for anything but if anyone out there hears our cries for help and is willing to do a huge favor we would appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts and we are willing to do anything even if it involves repayment or another favor in return.

After 19+ years of marriage, I divorced just over 1 year ago. My ex-husband & I have 2 children; a high school senior & a college sophomore. During our kids' early years, my ex-husband's salary allowed me to be a stay-at-home mom, which I loved. His employment involved extensive travel & many moves; 8 moves in 19 years. I supported the moves & the job changes, including a failed franchise in which we lost over $150,000. I earn $25,000/year; he earns approximately 6 times more; however, the divorce settlement saddled me with $60,000 of credit card & loan debt. I was emotionally drained, out of money & agreed to the terms. He is 16 years my senior & near retirement. A prenuptial agreement bars me from any of his retirement. He earned the money, and I am not bitter about the retirement aspect. I have stopped paying the credit card & loan payments as rent & car payment are more important. His girlfriend is a wealthy widow with 3 homes & a Lexus. I don't want to file bankruptcy, but I believe that's my only option. I do not have a college degree. I have a good job with good health benefits. I work for the state of WI, have not had a raise in 3+ years and do not see a raise in the near future. I have taken on a 2nd job. I have no need for vacations or material possessions; I do want is to live a life where I am not afraid to answer the phone for fear that caller is a creditor. Hello. I am a 35 year old woman who has finally returned to school! School is paid for thanks to the grants and loans from the government, what I need help with is just normal day to day living. I am putting 110% into my schooling. I have had a hard life. This is why I am just now in university at age 35. I am in my 2nd year and I am a Psych major. I am doing very well with school and I am going to finish and get into a great career and be able to help others! I can't wait! I am going to be a social worker. My lifetime dream is to help others! But... thats still a few years away. Right now I am the one in need. I can not even pay my bills. My laptop is very bad and I need this for school! I cannot even afford internet service at home. I am doing so well in school that I hate that I have to be stressed over money! I cannot find a job because of my past without a degree. But I have turned my life around! And am now dedicating it to help others! I just need a little bit of help too right now. I am that person that would give the other person my last dollar if they were hungry and I would go without. I have done this. I would give someone the shirt off my back if they asked me for it. It's just how I am. I believe in karma and I believe that my good deeds will be re-payed. I am a 24 year old student trying to fund my own degree. I am now in 2nd year and really struggling to keep everything together. I unfortunately had to resign from my job that funds my education as I couldn’t balance working and my degree. I do not have any reason why you should donate money specifically to me. I am healthy, I have no children or dependents who are relying on me, and nothing particularly devastating has happened me to put me in my current situation. Unfortunately I simply have no-one else to ask. My family would give me all the money they have, unfortunately they have as much/little as me. I am not asking for a large sum of money, nor do I expect anything from anyone who cannot afford it. There are many other people in a more desperate situation than I am. It is however my dream to graduate and use my degree to help those less well off than myself and to be honest, although it isn’t going to kill me if I don’t get my degree, I honestly can’t think of what else I could do with my future. I guess I’m just hoping that there are people reading this who have been in my situation and also people who can empathise that for some, the student life isn’t quite as carefree and full of fun as it is often portrayed to be. Hello, I'm Eleanor and I am 28 and have had a VERY hard year, i lost both my mum and dad Barbara & Paul Fynn within 4 months of each other. My dad died suddenly of stomach cancer and my mum died of Diabetes. I lost the house then that they rented and I had grown up in for nearly 30 years.

I have recently been made redundant in December, just 3 days before christmas and am struggling so much to now pay my bills and rent. I live on my own and am worried that I could, again lose the house i'm living in. I just don't know what else to do.

I have no brothers or sisters so have no one to turn to and am worried I am about to become homeless, for the 2nd time in a year.

Hi, I'm new to this and also a tad embarrassed but i really need help towards my wedding on 29th feb 2012. I have recently taken on a 2nd bar job to try and help but I am now exhausted, i hardly see my children and with only less then 5 weeks to go we are still no where near the funds needed and stressing more then you could believe. we aren't having a big over the top wedding, we are being married in church and then a party in a pub hall afterwards but even the smallest of weddings mount up. You may think well you chose to do it, well yes but our main reason for getting married (other then loving each other) is for our children, so that they have a stable and together family life, with the security that marriage offers. I am only writing this because I am beyond desperate. Before I tell you my story, thank you for taking the time to read this.
