Not Enough Money to Keep Home and Live

Posted by proudcitizen on 2012-02-06 05:58:55

I paid into Social Security and Federal taxes for 34 years and served my country during the Iran Hostage crisis. While getting my 50 year physical exam my bloodwork and a biospy ended up putting me through 2 chemos for my liver. Even though I wasn't cured we seemed to have stopped the progression of the disease. While going through this living hell our government would not approve my Social Security disability until I was completely penniless. My claim was finally approved after 2 years with no income or money. The judge who approved my claim was appalled that the SS Administration waited so long to approve someone over 55 with a 34 year work history. I was found 100% disabled due to a condition that ends in death. It's pretty obvious they were waiting to see if I would die! Now I do have some income which I am thankful for but it doesn't cover all my expenses. If all I had was general bills like gas, water, electric, car ins. and food I could make ends meet. I am struggling to pay my property tax. I own my home which my father built after WWII. My property tax is billed every 6 months and is over $1000.00 semi-anually my monthly check is only $1300.00 which barely covers the regular bills. Right now I am barely staying ahead of the threats to sell my home for back taxes. I applied for the Homestead Act property tax exemption for seniors and the disabled where they can deduct up to $25000.00 from the value of your home and tax that amount. The average person in my state saves $400.00 a year on this program. When my tax bill came this exemption only reduced my taxes by $164.00 a year. That's only $82.00 from each semi-annual government extortion. First I was forced to exhaust my life savings before they would approve my disability now this. I must figure a way to supplement my income. HELP!

please help me saving my home !

Good morning,

I am married and have three children. We live from one salary and have no possibility to change this. Due to a series of unhappy events for the last 29 months we have now problems with our mortgage. First it was an extreme gas/electricity bill for over 2000 euro, then a very serious sickness in the family, then the car reparation of 1000 euro, then my grandmother died leaving a not insured loan. But it was just the beginning. The health problems in the family persisted and I was the one to pay for an unisured family member. Two surgeries abroad, plane tickets. In a situation like this, when someone is sick you jst dont think about your bills, just pay for the hospital, medicines, doctors. This is what I did and what made me suffer a lot now. I have no savings, no car as it completely broke in October and we cannot afford to buy a new engine. The backlog in the mortgage pazments is really terrible and I dont see any solution to this. I cant even afford to pay for the school cantine for my children as the mortgage takes almost everything. I would be very grateful for each single euro, dollar or pound.

Please help with a one-time donation to my family's last-ditch effort to save our home from Foreclosure.
We were able to convince the bank to give us 1 month before they do an auction and we end up on the street.
I believe that by asking you and other fellow neighbors and citizens for a small contribution will go a long way to helping us stay here so our kids can grow up and finish school.

Thank you so much for your consideration.

Please help save my home for me and my 3 year old daughter

Posted by homehelp on 2012-01-30 11:58:23

Hi to all! I have never had to do anything like this. In fact I have always been the one to help others. I was in the medical profession until medical issues and the down turn in the economy forced the loss of my job. I have been doing everything I can to keep my home afloat for my daughter and I but I fear my end is near unless I can get some help. I need about $50,000.00 to keep my home so if anyone out there can help me save my home I will do everything I can to help others save theirs. I am now working fulltime but the mortgage company wants back money to do some of the modification on my loan which I dont have. All my savings are gone and I have no family to ask for help. My daughter is a sweet little three year old who doesnt deserve this happening to her at such a young age. Please give us a chance. I love you for helping us. All the best!

if anyone can help please do

i have recently split from a long term relationship and have lost almost everything just to keep a roof over mine and my sons head as my ex built up such debts and only found out after she dissappeared. i dont expect anyone to help as cant see that this works but whether its 5p or £5 every little helps so its worth a try i guess.
I am just a person who has been praying and asking god today to please send someone by to help me with my greatest need at the lowest point of my life. I am 49 years old and I have lived with my parents helping them all I could for the last twenty three years. My dad has been in the nursing home close to our house for the last year after he fell and broke his hip for rehab, I still have hope that I can bring him home soon, he is 78 years old. The reason I say (I) is because me and my mother together tried so hard to take care of him but it was getting the best of both of us especially her. Unexpectedely my sweet mommy passed away this past August 2011. Without her I have been so lost, hopeless and helpless. I am trying so hard to go on, but it is hard. To try and make this shorter I am trying to save our home that they worked very hard to have for 30 years. The mortgage payments are cheaper than rent would be if I move, so I am grasping at anything out there for help. I am asking someone out there to help me with the mortgage payments that are due on it now with attorney fee's of $4000.00 or help in paying it off at $39,000.00. I am not a bum and I have worked since I was 18 years old, but am waiting on my disability from a car accident I had that has left me disabled. I can prove everything I have said in my message and that I am not making this up just to try and scam someone for money. I have just nothing left to lean to and they are going to foreclose for sell by February 27, 2012. I am hoping and praying that someone will see my message, that God will lead them this way. I would be forever so grateful for this help, and am asking from my heart.

am an honest working family man with 2 young children who works 40 hours a week ’m only 40.

Each day is becoming more and more of a struggle with working, but I have to work as I have a mortgage and bills to pay like the rest of us, the UK government do not help if you have a mortgage but they will happily pay your rented accommodation fees!

It’s 1.18am in the morning and makes me tired for work, which turns into a full circle.

What I am trying to do is clear my mortgage, every spare penny I have goes towards this so that I can clear my biggest worry and provide a safe environment for my children.

If you would like to donate, this would be greatly appreciated and I will keep your PayPal email address because if my online business venture works then I will gladly pay back everyone the amount they donated to me.

Im a young woman of 28 years old and this is my life story:

I was born and landed straight into hell, for as long as i can remember i have been beaten up, cut, burned and occasionly tied up and attempted to be drowned in a bathtub by the 2 people thats should love and care for u as a child; my parents...I was raped and abused by my own brother and suffering in silence. School was a safe place for me but after the teachers started to notice that i wasnt a normal happy kid my parent kept me home from school...In order for them to stay out of trouble they married me off at the age of 14 to a 36 yr old nephew. Since i never wanted that marriage they drugged and kidknapped me abroad to my birthland..

After 8 months of utter misery my grandfather helped me get my divorce and to get my passport back so that i could return to The Netherlands.

When i got back to The Netherlands i finally turned 18 and wanted to try and get my life together but the past haunted me so bad i couldnt see straight so i sufferd a heart attack in 2004 at the age of 21 or 22..Due to unablility to keep a job i lost my house 3 times. I know what it feels like to be hungry for food, longing for a nice warm shower, being homeless and in desperate need of a save place to stay.

Today i have a home but am on the verge of losing it again, i have so many bills surrounding me that keep me from having a goodnight sleep,no food in the house for months now and am so tired of being rejected for a decent job.Everytime i turned for help around me, i end up wanted to be taken advantage off.

For years and years i have looked up to god and prayed, cried and begged for a better day with no avail.

Lord knows i never had much of anything but to whomever reads this please, please help me, if have no one to turn to but you.

Gratefully yours,
Invisible girl.

Overwhelmed with flood damages and the repair expenses

Posted by ravensrun65 on 2012-01-25 17:58:59

After being away since 1997, I've come back to care for my disabled mother. I myself have degenerative bone and disc disease of the spine. Making it impossible for me to do any of the labor. The building use to be a bar with an apartment upstairs. Due to her disabilities, she lives on the bar level. Years ago they had a porch added, which is partially cantilevered improperly. Someone installed a shower on the bar level, in the process, they cut a main beam rather than get a longer piece of pipe. I'm not able to find out when the unit was installed, but it was long enough ago that now the bar level bathrooms(yes, both mens and ladies rooms are still in there), and the apartment floors are all sloped. If memory serves me, lolly columns should stop/possibly reverse this.
The well is working when it wants to, the water runs, then shuts itself off, anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes later, it comes back on. The furnace had a burned out blower part which I'm paying the bill off, leaving less than $75 cash after covering the expenses of this building each month. And the plumber said it would be close to $200 just to start fixing the well issue. Not even knowing if it is the pump or not.
The weather here is too much for my body without access to hot water therapy. I don't know how long it will be before I can no longer handle the pain in these temps. I am rather desperate for any help at all. I'm 46, single, and have no one to help me without paying hefty fee's. This building is in dire need of repairs. If anyone could please find it in their heart to help two women that have no one to lend a hand...PLEASE HELP?
Thank you for reading and have an outstanding day!

Little Room At The Inn

Posted by difference on 2012-01-25 16:58:28

I am 32 years old, married with two children and like many others I am sure we are struggling in the recession. My husband and I both work full time, we have no holidays, drive old cars and have little luxuries and due to the negative equity we have in our property we are stuck in the small house that we live in. We have been saving hard to start building our own extension as we cannot afford a builder to take the job on, so my husband has agreed to try and do the work himself. We know that it will take so much longer but we do not have any choice. We are already on an interest only mortgage on an extremely high interest rate due to our negative equity so we cannot reduce our biggest outgoing at all. The reason we need to extend our house is that my daughter's room is so small that we cannot even buy a single bed to fit in the room so we need to get her out of her baby bed and into a normal size bed. If we could afford to move we would but we would owe the bank money if we sold up and that is just not an option. We need help to allow us to stay here as we are really running out of ideas. I feel very nervous and a bit weird doing this but we are doing everything we can from buying most of our food in the reduced aisle and I am selling the kids old clothes just to make some money so that we can start building our extension as we will be staying in the house for a lot longer than we planned. I understand that there are many people out there with very worthy causes and that we are a normal family with big money problems and that you may feel that this is way down the list of priorities, so I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help that you may be able to give.

Honest working guy, with health problems

I am an honest working family man with 2 young children who works 40 hours per week.

I have many health problems, I’m deaf in both ears and wear a hearing aid, I also suffer from arthritis in my spine along with sciatica and I am taking 24 tablets each day to combat the pain I’m in and the worst part is I’m only 38.

Each day is becoming more and more of a struggle with working, but I have to work as I have a mortgage and bills to pay like the rest of us, the UK government do not help if you have a mortgage but they will happily pay your rented accommodation fees!

It’s 1.18am at the time of writing this, I am in so much pain and discomfort that I cannot sleep, which makes me tired for work, which turns into a full circle.

I am trying to start an internet business to try and take the burden of losing my house in the not so distant future and to give me something to fall back on, when the day comes that I cannot no longer have a ‘normal’ job.

I applied for housing benefit but was told I was overpaid 5 years ago when I last claimed so will not recieve anything for 2 months. I have rent arrears of £930 and my landlord has just served me with notice to leave the property by the end of Febuary. I am my wits end and hsve no ine to help me. I have been advised I can go into homeless accomodation but cant take my cats and it means living far away from my daughters school.
I would be extremly grateful for any help and I hope I can do the same for someone else when I get back on my feet.

Family in Danger of Losing Home

Posted by njgc56 on 2012-01-24 09:58:56

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I am a mother of 4 children who works full-time. My husband is a self-employed builder who worked alongside my father for many years until he recently passed away. Since then he has struggled to find any work despite his hard efforts to gain employment to provide for his family.

As he has had no work for several months we are now in great danger of losing our home. My salary is very little and can only barely cover our mortgage costs never mind any other expenses such as food, gas etc. We currently have no food in our home and thankfully we have some very good friends who, although cannot help financial have been helping by feeding us. We are now in real danger of losing our home and are in desperate need for any help that could be given to us no matter how small or big.

Thank you once again for taking the time to read my post.

Save our home and my Mother's memory.

Posted by jamesad1984 on 2012-01-24 09:58:41

I would like to post a message as it has now got to a serious stage where me and my family will lose our house.
I'm a 26 year old man who lives with my 2 younger sisters 17 & 20 and my mother of 50 who has terminal cancer. Our father passed away 4 years ago from a heart attack and we have been struggling ever since to keep our home.
My father racked up debts without anyone knowing until his death of upwards of £75000, when he passed away we had to remortgage our house and my mother cashed in on her life insurance so we could keep the house.
Now as my mother has terminal cancer and has no life insurance me and my sisters are looking at becoming homeless, I work full time in an office job but my wage is not enough to save the house and banks can only lend me up to £20000 to pay off the mortgage. The figure of the mortgage is at £60000.
Both my sisters are still in full time education and can't contribute, I have asked friends and families to help and have managed to get £20000 and i'm so grateful for there help.
To keep the family home which I have lived in all my life I require another £20000, I don't expect to raise this amount but literally every penny counts to help keep the house and me and my sisters together in this stressful time.
Ideally I want to sort this all out before my mother passes so she knows that her kids are ok.
Please help even if its just a small amount it all adds up. Me and my family will be eternally grateful for your help.

Thank you
I am a mum and main breadwinner for my 4 year old son. I lost my job a while ago and am weeks away from losing our home. I will be starting a new job in a couple of months but for the sake of a few weeks we will be made homeless if I can't find funds within a couple of weeks.

Bad credit rating through no fault of my own and can't get loan.

Can you help us. All donations repaid if id given.

Thank you so much
