(Begslist) - August 6, 2009 -- Since 2007, Begslist has tried to keep the reputation of establishing itself as free cyber begging website that allows access to anyone who needs help as compared to a paid cyberbegging (pay-to-post) website by offering users FREE postings to ask for help. Today's economy has not only taken a toll on many who post on this website, but it has also affected Begslist as well.
Begslist History
In 2007, Begslist was created by someone who was in the same situation as many of those who
post to the site. He created the site to help people who wanted to ask for help by getting donations anoymously;
avoiding the embarrassment of having to beg in person or for those trying to find another alternative avenue to finding help any way they could.
A few years ago, the Begslist creator was in fact in financial trouble and swallowed his pride by turning to cyber begging as an alternative way to ask for help. He tried begging online and discovered that most cyberbegging websites
charged money ($15 to $32.50) to post to their websites. He was desparate enough where he did pay money to post to these sites. Although he resorted to paying to ask for help, he felt like he was really being taken advantage of because...if you are struggling, have no money, and can't afford things...then why do cyberbegging sites ask you to pay to ask for help
when they know you can't afford it in the first place? $1 or $2..ok, but $15 or more without a guarantee of getting donations?
After awhile, things did get a little better for the Begslist creator where he was able to get back on his feet. He remembered when he
was cyberbegging and recalled reading stories of other people in his situation. From many of the postings, he felt bad that a lot of
these people who didn't have a dime were giving up valuable money to ask for help. In some cases, $15 dollars was equivlent to
$150 to many and at times...this was the case for the Begslist creator.
Homeless and panhandlers down on
their luck (the unfortunate ones who you give your spare change to on the street) are not asked to pay $15 or more to ask for donations! Why should it be any different for those begging online?
The creator of Begslist felt it in his heart that he should give back to cyberbeggars in need
by using his knowledge, generosity and know-how to create a FREE cyberbegging site where people can beg online without having
to pay money to do so. He also made many random donations to people who posted to his site by donating $10, $20 or whatever he could spare because
he was once in their shoes and knew how much any kind of donation would help.
He was a true believer in karma. You get what you give, whether it's bad or good.
Structure of the website
Financial Help Resources - Besides finding employment, one of the other ways that the Begslist creator got back on his feet was through financial resource help. So he also decided to put
financial resource help information on the website.
Advertisments - He believed that placing advertisements on the site would help him pay for the operation costs of the website.
Charities - The Begslist creator had family members, relatives and friends who suffered or died from cancer and disease, so he
wanted to put charity resources on the site for good samaritans to donate to good causes as well.
Coming Soon: Free Stuff - A freecycle place where Good Samaritains can post things that they are willing to give away. Cyber beggars can find free stuff in their area that they may be able to use (i.e. - clothes, food, furniture, etc...)
Please Help Keep Begslist Free
"From the words of the Begslist Creator"
It has always been my wish that this site remain free for all to visit. I DO NOT want this site to be a Pay Per Cyberbegging or
a subscription web site as most cyberbegging web sites are. Today's economy hit me hard where I suffered through unemployment, losing a business, bankruptcy and I also lost my home to foreclosure. I know where many of you are coming from and I had my share of 'ups and downs' in my life. I know what it is like to go through tough times and I want to help others in need any way I can.
Please support Free Cyber Begging
It costs money and time to keep this site up and running. Operating costs include domains (multiple domains are directing to
this site), web hosting fees, forum hosting fees and donation distributions given by Begslist to cyberbeggers on the site. Advertising, as seen throughout the site, isn't really covering all these expenses.
Are you are a true believer in karma like I am? You get what you give, whether it's bad or good?
Do you believe what comes around goes around? Give $1 and it could come back with possibly more?
Do you have at least $1 or more that you can spare knowing it is going to help others like yourself?
Do you like the idea of free cyberbegging because you also think that people shouldn't have to spend well needed money to ask for help?
From one cyberbeggar to another...I ask you to help me keep this site going. Anything you can spare, no matter how little, will greatly be appreciated.
How do I continue to keep this web site from becoming a pay per posting cyberbegging web site?
- You can help support the site by visiting advertisements and getting financial help, such as clicking on FreeCreditReport.com from the Begslist site or other resources seen that would help pay for the site. Getting
financial help not only helps you, it helps pay for Begslist as well.
- Spread the word about Begslist. Word of mouth goes a long way. If you know how to do other forms of advertising, please feel free to do so. Spreading the word about the site is like a domino effect where the more visitors the site receives, the greater the chance that you may receive donations and in turn, it may also help Begslist remain free.
- You can make a small donation to Begslist by using the donation box below. As seen in many cyber begging postings...."Any little bit
helps! Even if it is just $1. It does add up!". Show you can not only take donations, but you can give as well.
Of course, you are under no obligation to donate to Begslist....the site will remain FREE for all to use.
However, if you would like to make a small donation (every dollar helps), Begslist will gladly accept them through PayPal via
the donation box as seen above.
