Family Crisis

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Jean and I am a mother of three. I am married to William, for 4 years and we are NJ natives. I am a caregiver for my 60 year old mother who was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure in January of 2011.

In June of 2010 my mother came from Michigan to live with me with the intention of helping me and my husband by watching our children during our working hours. My husband and I both work very long hours, and the children would have been required to spend long periods of time alone. So my mother came to help us fill the gap. In October of 2010, my mother’s health took a turn for the worse and it was continually getting worse as the year progressed. By January of 2011 my mother was unable to stand for any length of time and was always short of breath.

On February 10th I admitted my mother to the emergency room @ ACMC/Mainland. She was immediately diagnosed with kidney failure. She was admitted to ICU and on February 12th she had a cardiac arrest, due to toxic levels of magnesium, in her system. My mother suffered a sustained brain injury and to this day has a deficit she will have to live with forever. This deficit has taken away her ability to drive, live on her own, or be without some type of supervision.

My family suffered an extreme financial crisis that is ongoing and increasingly more devastating. I was out of work on FMLA for 8 weeks without pay. I was given $1200 in disability payments. I was allowed back to work, but with a significant decrease in pay and a change of position.

We have fallen behind in our bills in a catastrophic way. It seems the more we pay the more we owe. In fact, for the last week we have been without running water. Our gas has been off for three weeks and we use that for hot water, heat, and cooking. Our bank fees for the month of September have been astronomical (well over $400) for NSF charges and Service fees. This is just spiraling out of control. The children attend a local charter school and Pleasantville High school. Each child only has one pair of shoes and one uniform because I can’t get ahead of the curve to get them additional ones. The little ones need their school logo embroidered on the uniforms but that cost more than the shirt did.

We feel helpless and without some type of help we will continue to be a homeless family of six. We are currently living in a motel on the edge of our town. This is a pay by the hour type of place but it is the only place that will charge us by the week and will allow one of use to sleep on the floor. We are soliciting any type of help you can give. Please be mindful that we are hard working members of society. We have been working since we got out of high school. We are not beggars and we are willing to give back in the form of community service.
All I know is that we need help! Immediately or we’ll be past saving!

Hello. I am newly (8 weeks ago) single mother of 2 boys (ages 3, 6) and I have recently left my abusive husband. I remained in the relationship for 7 years and am have just now gotten the courage and willpower to leave. The relationship and the last beating before I left (by far the worst) left me 75 percent unable to see in my right eye.This has resulted in us being homeless with no financial help or backing.
I no longer qualify for TANF (WELFARE) and all I get is food stamps once a month. We are currently residing in a homeless shelter in downtown St. Louis where we have to leave every morning at 6 am (rain, snow, or shine). I go to the library with my children daily and we read together just to get out of the cold. I am happy to be free from years of abuse, but at the same time I am severely depressed because of my living and financial situation.
My wish is to get funds for one month at a studio extended stay hotel, funds for interview clothes (I have gotten several interviews and then when I go, they HR reps are immediately turned off by my unkempt, worn and inappropriate so called interview attire), funds for a bus pass to get to more interviews (I walk for now), and funds for minor toiletries. I know that with my resume and decent interview attire that I can get a decent full time job within one month's time.
It would help so much toward my short term goal, which is to attain full time stable employment and provide a stable and healthy living situation for my two boys. I am a 64yo disability pensioner living in Bayswater, Victoria, Australia. I recently married a Filipino lady in Cebu, Philippines (October 29th 2011). The immigration process is both costly, and takes a long time. I am in a position to bring my wife to Australia on a visitors visa that will allow us to be together until her spouse visa is approved. I have tried to loan $2,000Aus. to pay for the costs of getting her here, but due to me being on a pension no lending organisation will approve me the money. My husband and I finally realized our dream of owning our own home in august of last year. We were budgeting and doing good, living within our means. Then I found out I was pregnant again after suffering from 3 losses. It was unexpected as we were finally at terms with only having two kids, it took us a long time to feel ok with it. Now this pregnancy has been rough, and our medical bills are already in the thousands. Our insurance isn't helping much. Also working 40 hours a week has become a memory since Xmas ended, we both work in retail and they've been cutting us left and right. So now here we are we made our house payment and the other essentials that our kids can't live without(heat and water) and we are done until payday two weeks away. We don't have enough to pay our medical bills that are due this month, or the overdue ones from January. We feel like we are sinking fast and to top it all off I have to take blood thinners for this pregnancy and that's $150-200 a month extra. We just want this little guy to make it, and we are pretty desperate right now. Please help?

Hello Im a husband to a disabled wife and a father of 4 young kids. I work 3 jobs and dont get to see my family that much. We are about to lose our home, we will be evicted in 60 days. Were on waiting lists for low-income housing but the waiting list is a year plus. Rent on apartments in the area we live are about 700 a month more than we can afford. And to make things worse my mother lost her job after 22 years and has lost her house as well. She currently has no income and I have had to help her as well. I have been married for 2 1/2 years to an abusive drunk. I was a teacher in another state for 11 years and moved to Ohio to get married and start a new life. Almost immediately, I realized I had made a mistake. He drinks heavily and is verbally and physically abusive. I often find myself locked in a bedroom with our cat, who he also threatens to kill. I have slept in my car, in cheap hotels and on friend's couches.
I want to leave and go back to the state where I taught before moving here, but cannot afford it. I am in need of $1500 to buy a plane ticket and to help pay my bills until I can find a job.
I am currently working a min wage job and want can barely pay my bills (student loans, credit cards, insurance, living expenses)and can't afford to leave. I am desperate, scared and tired of living this way. I want out, but have no place to go and no money to do it and wouldn't be on here unless it was a last resort. I can provide a police report from when he was arrested for domestic violence if you want proof of my situation.
Please, if you can find any way to help me, I would be so grateful. When I get out, I would pay back by serving in the community I move to. I currently volunteer at our local cat shelter and would do that in my new city, as well as work in the soup kitchen and find other service opportunities. I believe in paying it forward.

I'm in my 30s and in a desperate situation. Although I'm a very proud person, my situation has pushed me to act differently because of my responsibility towards my kids. I'm physically and psychologically unable to work due to my illness, although I'm a smart person. In past 18 years, I have had many surgeries; 12 of them on my spine because of severe scoliosis and 4 on my right hand. I have two lovely daughters, one is 16 who attends secondary school and the other is just a 7 months old baby.
About 4 months ago I found out that my husband suffers from bipolar disorder, after years of putting us through hell. He was hospitalized a few months ago and after he was discharged, in early January he left us with no support and went to another country. I have been struggling with tons of bills for months and now I'm left with everything to deal with as he ran up large amount of debts.
Despite everything that I have to deal with, every single day I'm in constant pain. All the time I feel exhausted from looking after a baby single handed during the day and night. My eldest has fallen behind at school work due to helping me and now her dreams for her future has shattered (she has A-level exams, was hoping to study Psychology at university). In order to function on a daily basis I struggle and need to take heavy painkillers such as morphine which makes me even more tired.I have no family and friends to help me. My mother is in her late 70's and lives in another country with her sister and my father died years ago.
Please help me financially by making any donation to help me clear at least some of my debts. I have no money to eat proper meals and I'm breastfeeding. I'm on a verge of nervous breakdown. In the past if I ever could help anyone I have done. So I'm waiting for karma to work, please help me if you can. I feel under extreme amount of pressure as if I'm taking my last breath.

Our house is presently freezing and I am in dire need of temporary help to get some fuel to keep us warm as well as my precious lil dog. We ran out of fuel and because we have no money to pay the gas company in back fuel, we cannot get any propane. To add inujury to insult, we are also behind on our property and school taxes. We have a house in Michigan that we were renovating by the skin of our teeth so that we can sell it for money, but just yesterday, we received a certified letter with a tax foreclosure on it.The property taxes on that house is behind. We cannot afford to foreclose on this house as it is our ticket to some money to help us with this house. We owe the contractor money for the work he has presently completed. He is now threatened to put a mechanic lien on the house. As you can see, our dire situation needs help as soon as possible.

We got behind in all bills because we ran out of money. My significant other was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 with multiple surgeries and since then, we have been going downhill. Utilizing our savings, selling everything we can possibly see. We live month to month now from social security and disability checks. I have no place else to turn as my own family does not have any money to help me nor does my significant other. Every place we turn to for help with this issue is a dead end. His disability pays the mortgage. We are truly strapped right at the moment. Is there anything you can do to help us out on this very cold day and with our property taxes? I can pay back whatever money is loan because I have a law suit settlement pending for a car accident I was involved in which required my having surgery. I just don’t know where else to turn. Please help me? I am begging. (I can’t get a settlement load because I am on a contingency basis). Our credit scores are not the greatest and that prevents us from getting any type of a loan.

If there is any way underneath the sun someone can come forward and help us, it would be greatly appreciated OR please guide us to a source where we can obtain a loan with the way our credit now stands. I have a judgment (which just recently surfaced) and now I am starting to pay that off at $50.00 per month which is an additional bill I cannot afford.

p.s. I have also reached out to the Warren Buffet family foundation for some help per an email I sent and response I received. We are not guaranteed that we will get the help since they receive thousands of letters for help every day.

Now I am so far in debt I have only $70 a month to live on after all my regular bills are paid not including groceries. I need help and have gotten all I can Food stamps $156 a month, food bank (lots and lots of cans of vegtables) My kids can only eat so many vegtables in a can. Dollar Tree has become my store of choice these days .

Hi, My boiler has broken and been disconnected by the gas engineer. My husband and i both work, and because we earn just over the limit we cannot claim any grants to help with the cost of replacing the boiler. If i was a single parent or on benefits we would be able to.
We have a four year old son. The small amount of savings we had, had to be used when my husband was made redundant last year. As the weather has just turned so cold and we only have 2 electic heaters, which cost a fortune to run, if anyone is able to help we would be very grateful.

Hello I'm posting here because I don't know where else to turn and there is little hope. I guess a quick background I was divorced and left with all of the debt. A few years later I met a girl who like me was abandoned by her ex but only she had a an infant. We fell in love and became a family. She was riddled with debt a well. I am trying to support this family while paying off a $30,000 debt at the same time. $5,000 of which is owed to the IRS by 4/15. I am starting to lose hope but I am trying to stay strong for this little girl. Hello, I'm a Navy Corpsman Veteran and my wife and I founf out that we are going to have triplets this year. We both work (at not ghreat paying jobs) but she will be on bed rest soon (at 20 weeks) so we will only have one income coming in. On top of all this, our car's engine just threw a rod and will cost $4,500 to replace (money that we don't have and should be going towards kid items. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this, so I'm ashamed of myself for even asking for help. We are a hard working family stuck in bind. I went back to school almost two years ago to improve my chances of getting a self-sustaining job. I hope to find something amazing after graduation 6wks! My husband isn't getting steady semi repair work. We advertise super competitive rates but no calls. My house payment is $650.00 (2 months). I am trying to sell everything possible. I just want to keep my home. We spent 15 years saving for a 1100 sq ft. It is all we have now. I don't want my children in a shelter. I have been working temp service jobs. I get behind because 2/5 of my kids are developmentally delayed. My 4 year old son is autistic and my 12 yr old deals with ADHD/RAD/OCD/ODD. I teach them all week between their therapy then my university and temp work. I hate to ask but I'm out of options.

hello. my name is Darren, recently we lost our trailor, in the country, on the beautiful land we purchased in hopes of building a home on someday. Because our nieghbors changed thier land zoning from agriculture to residential, which because we dont own enough land automatically changed our zoning so we got a 30 day notice to get rid of our home. forcing us to move into seperate homes staying with friends until we can get a double wide home to be legal on our land. my signifigant other, Melinda, has recently lost her job and has no insurance and 9 days ago fell down a flight of stairs breaking her pelvis, L-5 vertabrea, 3 ribs, tail bone, skull and orbital. she had surgery on her pelvis a week agoe, and cannot yet even stand. with no home to rehabilitate in and no insurance, it just seems like everything is crashing in around us. It is slow where i am working which with her not working and medical bills from my recent neck surgery piling up, and having to get another vehicle because ours finally kicked the bucket, its just to much.
